Service was great and the food was amazing especially the chicken korma. We used our zomato gold and if we had known we would have ordered take away as you get free rice. The naan and rice were substantial and good. We most definitely will be back and try the fish or seafood next time. Highly recommended.

What a great little Indian food find in Bentleigh. For starters the service here was amazing. Great service and some really good dishes. We were surprised at how well priced the dishes were also.
Thé food was excellent and was a decent price . I went with a group . They gave us free Roti bread . I also ordered some garlic naan which was very nice . The staff were friendly. It was a good experience.
Delicious food thats very reasonably priced. While it’s a bit of a wait for dine in this soon became a favourite take away place as it was great value for money and quick.
Maharani is a hidden gem on the indian restaurant scene. Upon eating here i ordered the butter chicken with naan bread and complimentary rice. The butter chicken was tasty, the bread was highquality and the complimentary rice was a nice touch. Staff are friendly too but decor and building needs to be renovated
Let’s begin; Ive eaten there, I’ve order take away. I just absolutely love it here. The prices are great and the taste is superb. For take away they give you your food in plastic take away contains and then into a cardboard box, this making it recyclable and easy to carry home. Eating in the ambiance is amazing and the food is served in a traditional Indian style. The staff are also very kind and food is prepared quickly.
This place is sooo good! We had never been here or had food but after all the great reviews we thought we would give it a try. We ordered delivery and it was amazing!!!! So amazing that we ordered again the next night. We tried so many dishes and they all were outstanding. Could not say enough good things about the food or our experience, so happy we found this place can’t wait to order again :)
Loved it! The food was delicious and very well priced. We received pappadums with tamarind chutney and mint sauce upon arrival. For entree we shared samosa, plump and juicy and just the right level of spice. For mains we had chicken rogan josh and saag lamb with naan, aloo paratha and saffron rice. We received raita at no charge. The meat was tender and the curry was flavoursome. The breads were also delicious. Our bill came to $46 for all that food-I had to check twice to make sure I hadn’t heard incorrectly! Will definitely return.
Delicious food. Beef Roghan Josh was melting in our mouths, the butter chicken was very tasty and the Kashmiri naan was also great. Would highly recommend.
We eat here regularly and think it's the best Indian food in the area. They do a terrific tandoori chicken, very nice vegetarian curries (I can recommend the Saag Channa) and the quality of the other food is very good (enjoy the Lamb Korma and biryanis). This restaurant deserves to be much busier than it is as not only is the food tasty, the serves are generous and the cost is extremely reasonable.
Amazing, sensational, incredible Indian food! We got the lamb rogan josh and pumpkin Masala, beautiful flavours and spices and not oily. The breads were fresh and crisp too. The service here was exceptional, they gave us a delicious entree complimentary from the chef. A great dinner at a reasonable price!

Ordered takeaway to pickup at a set time, when arrived I still had to wait atleast 10 minutes :( Garlic naan had a least a whole clove of garlic on it, way too over powering. Tikka was a good entre.

Atmosphere is nice. Good for families. A little small but ambience is still great nonetheless. Was taken there by a friend who wanted my opinion on their food. Pretty great by Australian Standards (Indians taste is fairly different). Good variety of food available and best of all the prices are very reasonable. Staff is also well presented.

I was hungry while passing this area after checking Zomato I arrived to this place.
Food was very tasty. We tried only a few dishes, including lamb korma, pakora, naan and rice. All were pretty good and reasonably priced.
Staff were nice but very slow and confused. All seem like it's their first day in the job.
Overall a good experience and would recommend if you're in the area.
Great value Indian food, always good quality and on time for orders. Butter Chicken always stellar, saffron rice sometimes clumped up. Good variety. Best in area for well priced and consistent Indian meals.
A good local Indian restaurant with a large range of vegetarian food. Nice staff, good sized servings and modest price. It suited us well for a mid week casual dinner. Well worth a visit.
Ordered malai kofta, dal makhni, chicken korma and paneer kulcha. Malai kofta and dal makhni were good, my fav was the korma, really rich and creamy. Paneer kulcha had too much flour and too little stuffing. The only suggestion i had was to give the customer a choice between the rice or if they prefer naan/roti. Not everybody eats rice in that quantity and we had 3 big boxes of rice sitting for the three curries we ordered. Gave an extra 0.5 rating for the immaculate packing of the food and the consideration shown to put it all in a big box so its easier to carry for us.
Great Indian food! Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Good price and serving size. Free rice with curry was a nice touch. Had the Dahl and lamb Korma, both delicious. Really nice Kashmiri Naan bread too.
Love their food! Anything from Garlic Naan bread, to Butter Chicken, Somossa, Lamb Masala,Beef Curry - they are all really tasty. The authentic atmosphere and friendly service makes this our favorite local restaurant!

This is a family favourite, we have been here countless times over the last 5 years because we know we are going to get good food and service, you can buy drinks but we always BYO drinks here as we can bring in our own ciders and soft drinks. This place is great value for money, a very good authentic Indian restaurant in the SE suburbs!
There has been an upgrade of the venue as of recently with new decor, new staff and new menus for a more clean cut look, refining the venue and making it look and feel fresher.
We received complimentary papadums with sauces as a starter with complimentary raita yogurt, and salad with our main meals, we ordered madras fish, chicken masala, beef curry and lamb cutlet curry with garlic naan and rice.
The meals were absolutely amazing, the lamb chops were so tender, marinated in a rich but spicy masala gravy, it was a great dish. All
The dishes had good portions of meat with thick flavoursome curry and went perfectly with the fluffy and soft garlic naan bread!
Some other good dishes include the saag spinach lamb and tandoori chicken pieces which comes out on a sizzling oven platter and a great dish to share.
We also had kulfi for dessert, homemade Indian ice cream with pistachio nuts, thanks to Kumar the chef!
We come here at least once a month, and we look forward to our next visit!
Excellent food! Butter chicken was absolutely delicious and the garlic naan was also pretty good. For takeaway meals you also get rice included so it's great value, particularly considering the menu is already pretty cheap.

Love it. My family and I live very close to the Maharani and have been going there for a number of years. We have always enjoyed it, it is cheap and has decent indian food. About 8 months ago they changed some staff (and must have been a change of chef!) because the food it even better, very fresh and the staff are lovely. If the food stays as it is, we will keep coming.
This is the first time that we came to here to eat Indian food for dinner. It's amazing that every food tasted very good, all of my friends love it, especially the "Chicken Mumtaz(Butter Chicken) Curry" & "Lamb Korma Curry" & "Garlic Naan". And it's very convenient, because the location is beside the Patterson station. If I can, I will come here again.
Lovely local. This restaurant is one of those suburban Indian restaurants that do most of their business as take away and only have lots of people in them on Friday and Saturday nights.
Which is a shame, because its quite good quality Indian.
Curries have just the right amount of sauce and are well balanced spice wise.
Breads are really nicely done. Garlic naan is quite spectacular actually :)
They could do with more drinks on their drinks menu and large size drinks, not just the little ones. Definitely need more wines.
Other than that, lovely little local.

Had a delicious meal at Maharani last night with a friend. From the super friendly greeting and service all night and tender, tasty and filling serves, it was a really enjoyable experience. Id been to Maharani a few times before (albeit a long time ago) and they always deliver. Good stuff!
It's been a while but we really enjoyed the samosas and curries.
Best indian around. Absolutely love this place! Very tasty food that arrives quickly. Have eaten in and had take-away many times and always love it. Favourite is the butter chicken and naan bread. Great prices.
Make sure you ask for it to be hot if thats how you like it
Very tasty Indian food. Many Indian restaurants are difficult to differentiate from each other, but this place really stood out for me. We got take-away and shared a few dishes: the beef masala, chicken rogan josh, eggplant masala and mixed veges.
On the side we had naan bread (plain and garlic) and raita. They even throw in free rice for take-away orders which is a nice little bonus.
All were very nice dishes, and I would definitely return.
Update:
I went back a 2nd time a few weeks later and the food wasn't anywhere near as good. So it seems this place is a bit inconsistent. I'll have to give it another go sometime to see if it was just an off night.
We had take away from here tonight, and if you want hot food upon request then this the place. My fiancé loves spicy food and always asks for it to be hot and this place always comes through with it!!! Yummo

Great staff, excellent food; goat that falls off the bone and a real taste of spices in the hot plate tikka and tandoori. Not heaving with people on a Saturday night, which made for a pleasant ambiance. BYO and licensed. Best Indian meal I've had since London!
Maharani Indian Restaurant is a fantastic Indian Restaurant with many many years experience, The food is good quality and very reasonably priced, being Australian my Favourite is obviously the Butter Chicken, it isn't the best Butter Chicken I've ever had but it is rather nice, it has a creamy quality that a lot of places seem to miss, the Garlic Naan Bread is also delicious, the size of the Bread is also very generous🙏🏼

Came here after i had the curry cravings. I was the last takeaway order of the night and they were more than happy to serve me.
I arrived 10 minutes later and my order was ready.
The gentleman who served me was very nice. The business has been there for 16 years.
The venue is a lil outdated and could use a freshen up. Not the most inviting place. Plenty of potential.
When i got home i was starving. The food came well packaged. And was still hot. Very tasty food , i could not complain. Good serving sizes too.
Price was fairly reasonable as well.
Easy to find.
Easy to park.
Plenty of tables. Or go takeaway through pickup or delivery app.
I can deffs say its worth trying. The locals of Patterson frequent this place.
