Good family restaurant with a classic, comfortable atmosphere. The food was nice and the service was fantastic besides the young man, I'm guessing he is the son, who needs to be a bit more polite and enthusiastic. We've been here a few times over the years and it's very consistent. Will return to eat here in the future.
Great place, wonderful food, very friendly, good prices. I have been coming for Fong's Cafe for 26 years, and it is always a pleasure! They also have take away.

I had take away here tonight, when i picked it up the lady was really friendly and put my order in a box so my soups wouldnt spill and even held the door for me. The short soup was really nice and had lots of flavour, I also had the vegeterian singapore noodles, they were really nice, perfect amount of spice. My partner had the sweet and sour chicken in batter with special fried rice he said it was the best he'd had at any chinese restaurant, he also said the chicken was really good quality. will be back!!

A splendid restaurant!
Having read several reports on Fong's, Carole and I decided to try it for dinner recently. In summary, it was an excellent choice in very comfortable surroundings which, together with fine food and wine pleased us both Immensely.
There is a very wide-ranging menu, which means it is virtually impossible to not find a course to interest everyone present.
Food is very fresh, (always a big point scorer for us), is quality from start to finish and is very well presented.
We chose the Spicy Calamari, Mongolian Chicken and a Bird's Nest Special for our meal. The Spicy Calamari certainly was spicy, but this is not a criticism, as it was delicious. I used some sweet chilli sauce which, for me, broke down the spiciness to a level I found pleasure.
The Mongolian Chicken was a perfect choice as far as Carole was concerned, as it was slightly sweet and delicious. On the other hand, the Birds Nest Special was full of flavour and certainly had an exciting assortment of goodies, including delicious prawns and snow peas. We really couldn't fault either dish in any way.
A pleasant Pinot Grigio washed it all down well.
Table service is excellent – Rebecca was a great help; she patiently explained the menu which made choosing all that easier. Importantly, we did not wait long for our meals – and a big winner for us was we were asked how long we would like between courses. Doesn't often happen these days and we appreciated the gesture.
Cost is most reasonable and will please anyone on a tight budget, especially considering the high-quality food presented.
We have been to several Chinese restaurants in the area over the last few months, and we consider this to be the best we have tried recently. There is no doubt we would highly recommend this restaurant and of course, will be returning soon to try more of the menu.

Our family has been coming to Fong's for more than 20 years. We know the family now and have seen Betty and Wood's children grow up. Here you will eat good tasty family style Chinese cuisine... Nothing fancy but nothing exorbitant either.... Just simple delicious food cooked in a clean kitchen and served with a smile. It would be nice if they could add a couple of specials now and then for those like us who have tried the whole menu and would like something new...otherwise Fong's is great.
Fongs has become our favourite local Chinese restaurant after staying away from this cuisine for a while. My wife and son are coeliacs and we have straggled to find one which accommodates coeliacs. Fongs has a gluten free menu and their home made dim sims are awesome. Great friendly service and fresh food. They seem to have a busy take away as well as busy restaurant. The staff converses well and easy to communicate.

Every neighbourhood needs a good local Choinese. Not Chinese.... Choinese. Serving all your local favourites from a bygone era. A time when the average family only had the choice of fish and chips, pizza, and the local Choinese.
Now the local Choinese always specialised in sweet and sour, lemon chicken, beef and black bean, chow mein, and special fried rice. But most importantly.... And this is still the case, the local Choinese is judged on their home made dim sims.
Now I recommend Fongs, but don't go in there expecting Neil Perry Asian fusion and spice. And certainly don't expect Peking duck, assorted dumplings, and the variety meat creations of Chinatown that momentarily transfer you to some small eatery in provincial Hunan or Szechuan... For this my culinary friends is Choinese... And Choinese consistently done in the family to a consistently good standard since the 1950's.
This is a family restaurant... Have a chat to co-owner Betty who will come and sit down and have a chat to the regular customers (50% of which receive the aged pension and bring in their $10 bottle of wolf blass) Betty's husband cooks and their children work front of house.
So in finishing, this ain't the Flower Drum, but this is good Choinese with some of the better dim sims I've ever had. So that has to count for something.
Score- 6.5/10 As good as Hop Sings...Ned Isakov says you wouldn't want to get blacklisted.

This restaurant is great. Food is clean and tastes great. Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are above standard. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a fantastic dining experience. It's a family run business and you can tell they love what they do as service is quick and meets expectations. Will be back again... and again!
