New favourite charcoal chicken place. Good service from a clearly dedicated young crew. Big variety of salads on offer and plenty of fresh chicken. Constant stream of customers going in and out because they're ticking all the boxes, well done.

Food and Service is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The food is always fresh and full of flavour. The service is great. Cannot recommend them HIGHLY enough.

Best chicken and chips in at least a 15km radius! Salads are always consistently good, but far the best ones are the mushroom, bean, and tabouleh salads. It's a bit pricey, but it's always delicious and fresh.

I was a customer for 20 years, the old lady who ran this place was so fair and straightforward, they had great chicken and chips, now new management, new décor, prices gone up, quality gone down, will not go there again.

Best charcoal chicken around the area ! Meat is so tender and juicy. Slightly more expensive than the one you get at Coles / Woolies, but certainly worth the money. Love it !

Shop on Centre road with a wide menu, offering salads, charcoal chicken, rolls and burgers. Had the Quarter chicken and chips, requested the chips to be extra crispy and extra salt and they delivered by making it spot on. Chicken was fairly good as well. The only disappointing thing was the potato scallops which were hard and cold, did not seem fresh unfortunately.<br/><br/>29.07.18 : Went back here and happy to report that the chicken was still juicy and chips were delivered as requested (Extra Crispy, Extra Salt).

Service is so friendly here, and the store certainly is a popular choice among locals.. they were serving customers and taking orders non stop. Big menu selection and nice freshly made salads. They also have chairs and tables to dine in. And prices aren't too bad either. Schnitzel was freshly made, crispy and juicy on the inside and the salads were very tasty.

I always order a quarter chicken & chips and I LOVE ! Great price too Every time i go I'm greeted with a great smile and efficient service . Can't beat the chips anywhere else

Worst customer service ever. I walked in at 8:10pm while they were getting ready to close the shop. I ordered 1/4 chicken for $4.80. I handed my eftpos card over to which i was told it was a $5 minimum. I asked if they could put it though just this time, as I didnt have cash, nor did i want anything else. I was told I have to order a potato cake or something else to push the transaction over $5 otherwise I cant order.. So i walked out without buying anything and will not be coming back. I was a regular customer and would drive past 3 other charcoal chickens just to get to this one. This place would now rather refuse to serve a customer over 20c than keep a returning customer happy.

This used to have very good chicken and great chips. They still have very good chicken, but their chips seem to have downgraded somewhat. They are still nice and crunchy but the thickness, and age of the oil seems to have declined a bit over 2-3 years. To me the chips make the chicken shop. I used to travel to Nicks Chicken from south Yarra to north Balwyn (30-40 min drive) because of their incredible chips. And they WERE incredible. Hopefully these guys pick up a bit and they could turn this rating around.

So we were expecting big things from this place because of the rating and great reviews on how good the chicken is here. However we were a bit disappointed. <br/><br/>On arrival we noticed that the shop was super clean which was different for a chicken and chips joint so we have to give them that. There was also a decent amount of tables and chairs for eating in which is what we normally do.<br/><br/>I ordered a quarter chicken with 2 salads and Davin got half chicken with the 4 salads. We also got a small scalloped potatoes. The chicken skin was indeed quite crispy and flavoured and the meat was tender and moist however it was lacking flavour and was quite plain without the skin. It felt like it needed to be marinaded for perhaps a longer period so that more flavour could get into the meat. <br/><br/>The salads were fresh and they did have a good range to choose from with fresh herbs ranging from a Greek salad, pasta salad, mushroom salad to even a fruit salad! The scalloped potatoes were nice and creamy, you could taste the onions and cheese in it. However the chicken which was supposed to be the highlight, was a bit of a let down. Would we go back? Probably not unless we lived in the area and it was out of convenience.

As far as roast chicken goes for take away, this is as good as anyway where. That may sound bad but I have been to some places where that really isnt the case.<br/><br/>The staff are quick although sometimes they get confused as to whether they can give us only the dark meat. We ask as no one eats the white meat in our house and why let it go to waste? Other than that they do their best in dinner rush which can get hectic. So do not expect friendly barter during these times, it gets busy.<br/><br/>My personal favorite, as is most for people in the area are their chips. Still the best chips with chicken salt locally.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Went in there as they were closing up and the guy and girl behind the counter did not want a bar of it. The girl complained after everything she had to do and kept arguing with the guy - was quite embarrassing actually. They did not treat their customers with any respect and was only concerned about getting home. I asked for my chips to be "well done" and because they were trying to rush to get out of there, miscommunication happened between the couple and my chips were definitely not "well done". I'll never go back there!

Poor service, tight salad servings and dry chicken. We went here as it had good review, however we found the lady who served us to be really rude and unfriendly. We ordered the $15 take away pack for two with 1/2 chicken, chips and a greek salad. In the the Greek salad there were 3 pieces of tomato and cucumber and covered in lettuce. The chicken was dry and cut up into random portions and the chips we just threw out as they were terrible. We are highly disappointed and feel very ripped off. Never again, thank you

Worst chicken burger ever. Had the chicken burger. It was terrible says chicken breast more like frozen chicken snitchel old bread and shredded lettuce in poloystrine container. Was terrible should have asked for my money back. Don't waste your money

Mmm chicken. Awesome awesome chicken with seriously delicious skin, tender meat and yummy stuffing. We also had their potato sides which were very tasty too. Definitely one of the better charcoal chicken places I've had so far.

Yubbers. Been going here for years, it's yummy in my tummy!<br/><br/>Burgers are a little on the expensive side (and not as good as the place down the road -Twins Charcoal Chicken).<br/><br/>Other than that, chicken is good, chips and good, salads are good.<br/><br/>Been run by the same people for ages too (as far as I know, I always see the same nice lady there).<br/><br/>If you like chicken that's yummy, put Melbourne Charcoal in your tummy!!

Best Charcoal Chicken in Melbourne. Delicious charcoal chicken. Tasty crispy skin with that nice flavouring sticking to it. Succulent chicken inside with the best stuffing I have tasted. Buy a full bird with a couple of salads and share it with maybe one other person. The best salads are the mushroom salad and the greek salad.<br/>Chips are good too, but if you are gonna eat all that skin on your half of the chicken (and you should) I recommend the salads.
