What a cute little cafe. We came inside and the owner greeted us straight away. There were a mixture of indoor and outdoor/ courtyard seating - When we went, we saw the cutest dog here!
We started off with a Matcha Latte and a Cappuccino. They both came out really quick and the coffee was super delicious, perfectly made.
We ordered the Hot Cakes and the Vegetarian Fritters. The Fritters was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside - best combo. It was presented beautifully and the flavours all go together very well. The Hot Cakes was super light an fluffy with a bit of crunch on the outside. I loved the chocolate maple sauce and all the fresh seasonal fruits on it. I loved how fresh it tasted, it wasn't too heavy but still very flavoursome.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
This is very underrated in our eyes... We had an absolutely amazing time at Mama Tierra yesterday, we loved every second of it from the incredible food to the beautiful service!
The manager and wait staff were so friendly and helpful and gave off such a friendly vibe into the restaurant. The cafe it’s self looks small from the front but it’s very deceptive. We sat in the back room where we basked in the sun and enjoyed the atmosphere.
The food was so fresh and beautifully presented, we would change nothing about the hotcakes and the pea scrambled egg dish that we got.
It’s defiantly a cafe you have to try out, they have delicious Greek desserts on display that are a must AND vegan options too!
A nice cosy cafe with light wood tables and courtyard.
To start off, the Vienna chocolate is a semi sweet chocolate with a rich and decadent taste; topped with fresh whipped cream and marshmallows.
Hot cakes - imagine a bowl full of colourful seasonal fruits and berries and cutting into two thick hotcakes with a thin crisp skin and spongy centre. Drizzled with honey and topped 0with chocolate crunch granola, cooked meringue and maples chocolate also adds another flavour to the dish.
Pulled pork benny on rosti- a tender yet lightly spiced pulled pork rests on a bed of thinly fried rosti. To top it off, the benedict eggs are perfectly cooked and topped with a light hollandaise sauce.
Whether the sun is shining, or the clouds are rolling in, brunch is the best time of day to get a little something to eat. Exploring the vibrant café culture of Bentleigh, we decided to venture into Mama Tierra a modern café with a distinct Greek Influence.
Arriving on a cold rainy day, that didn’t stop the Mama Tierra team from welcoming us with big smiles and a cozy atmosphere. A cross between a modern café and a traditional Greek coffee house Mama Tierra is a perfect blend of delicious food with a Greek twist.
Joined on this adventure, @industrydarling, was excited to try their Greek coffee – in particular the Freddo Cappuccino a slightly sweet coffee served cold. This was met by rave reviews and was already ready for another.
Amazing Greek coffee… tick!
Wonderful restaurant in Bentleigh, great food and great atmosphere the staff are friendly great service
Great cafe&restaurant, an absolute gem. Looking for somewhere to have a nice coffee and breakfast with my friends, couldn’t have found a better place. Coffee was excellent, breakfast was outstanding, staff were all very friendly and helpful. Place is such a nice relaxed environment. Will definitely be going back!!!!
I love this shop... the food and the sweets are amazing, the stuff very friendly and you guys must taste the Most popular Greek sweet the “galaktoboureko” ! I will definitely be back soon !
Amazing vibe, coffee is absolutely good and the food it’s something different for the area !!! I will be back soon ❤️
Great location, friendly staff and awesome food what more could you ask for?
We had the fried zucchini fritters and the three amigos. Both dishes had wonderful presentation decorated with big bright colours. Coffee was great also! If you’re in the area, definitely go and try these guys out. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest!!!
Wondering what a Greek inspired brunch would be like? Mama Tierra has got your back!
You will definitely feel like a humble Greek family atmosphere, as both the owner and the staff greeted us with open arms. It was particularly interesting to hear stories of Greece from the owner as he also recommended other places to visit for my next trip to Greece.
'Three Amigos'
A dish consisting of the classes smashed avo on sourdough toast topped with halloumi and poached eggs with Chipotle Mayo with Mediterranean garnishes on the side.
'Smoked Salmon Omelette'
Basically an omelette paired with smoked salmon and sourdough bread. Although it was fairly simple dish, its perfect for those cold days in Melbourne and when you don't feel like having an intense explosion of flavours so definitely a recommend dish from me.
'Belgian Waffles'
Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, this was my favourite out of the three as it was served with Berry Compote, Fresh Berries, Kiwi and Lemon Curd topped with warm chocolate.
'Greek Coffee and Hot Chocolate'
Both equally great choices for bitter or sweet tooths. With the Greek Coffee, you have a choice of the intensity of the sweetness. On the other hand, the hot chocolate is a classic go to which I unfortunately did not get to taste.

Won a giveaway for this place and decided to enjoy brunch here. The wait staff were very kind and attentive and the food was great, we got to try something a little different (a freddo cappuccino) which was a nice addition to our visit. As well as this, we were given a lovely coconut cake to try which was super moist and full of flavour! Would recommend trying this cafe based on that cake alone- it was my highlight for sure.
We also got the eggs benny and southern fried chicken burger which were both exactly what we wanted- filling and delicious 😋
Nice new venue on Centre Road. The meals are a generous and offer great value. The big breakfast is an excellent option and was so filling I couldn’t finish it.
They also have a great range of cakes and pastries if you just want to pop in for something small.
A new cafe on Centre Rd Bentleigh amongst all the shops!
A warm and welcoming cafe with a modern Greek influence which is followed out in all of the food & menu offerings.
We ordered the
- French Toast
- Avocado on Sourdough
Plus a beautiful homemade Baklava to finish off our experience.
This wasn’t just any French toast it’s a “Greek Style French Toast” 🍞 From Bentleigh’s newest treasure @mamatierra.bentleigh 🍦🌼
Get ready to indulge into 2 golden-brown pieces of “sourdough” French toast w/sliced banana, creamy cheese and maple syrup! These ingredients add the perfect touch of sweetness to make this big & delicious Greek French Toast.
As this was made with sourdough, this style of French toast was a more dense consistency with a stronger and more prevalent eggy taste sticking to the true roots of a Greek style French toast 💖
It was nice to taste my way though a different texture and taste of French Toast ~ if you’re after a unique and different style of French toast then I’d definitely recommend this!
And smashed avocado with cherry tomatoes, feta, poached eggs and I added some bacon on the side! #YUM
The egg was perfectly poached and this was a well balanced dish!
Definitely a tasty and different style of brunch I tried yet certainly worth checking out!
