Review Taco Bill Mexican Restaurant - Bentleigh

Taco Bill's is great for a quick bite for 2, a family dinner or a dinner out with friends. The frozen margaritas are absolutely the best, the nachos are always very good and their are many, many vegetarian options to choose from. However disappointingly my partner's meal (Chili soft shell tacos) had to be sent back as they were cold, possibly sitting there while my meal was being cooked. However that aside if you want some basic Mexican with a great drink in a casual environment, then you should definitely go to Taco Bill's. 1.10 thanks to the owner for responding to feedback and yes can't wait for lockdown to end so can come in for nachos and margaritas!! 16.4 OK the 2nd time in a row where they have brought our main meals out while only part way through nachos. Please stop doing this Taco Bill's!! Also interestingly while chili con carne is not on menu as a main, you can still order it, while coffee, which is on the menu, you can no longer order.

The ambience was wonderful, staffs were very welcoming, the presentation of food was also very beautiful but I felt the taste was missing of a Mexican food.Very bland, I ordered a veg barrito bowl,a barrito and a kids meal. The kids meal was very good and my kid loved it.

Had dinner there last night for valentines day. The food was terrible. The soft shell taco tortilla was taken straight out of a pack with toppings placed on top. The taco wasn't warmed nor the beans. It was stone cold. Everything tasted lime it came out of a pack or tin. No flavour and very bland. There was a very young girl left on her own to serve us. Although she was very nice she was way out of her depth and I felt very bad for her left on her own like that. Terrible experience

Came in for a meal again and Was served by the same lovely young man who is really friendly and helpful. He made us the best Margheritas. From memory I think he said his name was Lucas. Very refreshing to have someone so nice and friendly to serve us

Generally me and my partner enjoy dining in at Taco Bill South Melbourne. However when we get takeaway from Bentleigh the chips are soggy by the time we get to the car. A friendly suggestion to do some product testing as the packaging you are using for the chips is obviously cost effective because it does little to maintain the quality of food being produced. This isn’t fair on the hard working kitchen staff as their work is poorly represented.

Loved this place! The food was fresh and tasty. Staff were very helpful and attentive and covid safety was addressed at every point. The nachos were amazing and tacos were generously filled and delicious! Highly recommended!

Quality of the food here has dropped right off since last year, they have changed some of the ingredients in the burritos and quesadilla's, now it tastes very plain and they just use chunks of beef in the filling which is disappointing. Way too expensive for what it is IMO.

Without a doubt the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had the displeasure to eat! Firstly, when ordering drinks, I tried to order a lemon slushie but “the machine was broken”, so asked about a Mexican coffee but “the man that makes them wasn’t there!’ Settled on what turned out to be the world’s sweetest milkshake. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and each was worse than the last. The chicken enchilada was unrecognisable and was soaked in oil and cheese. The mexi rice had the taste and texture of the microwaveable bags of rice you can buy in the supermarket. Was excited to have a meal to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and just left feeling disappointed. Save your money and go somewhere else for Mexican food!

Not a great experience, the venue is nice and good variety on the menu but I felt extremely ill and nauseous after eating a burrito from here.

We visited Taco Bill for some westernised Mexican delights and whilst it isn’t the most authentic it’s consistent and you know what you’re getting. I enjoy my meals at this chain a little more than I’d like to admit. A mango margherita is a must have

Basic and expensive Mexican . Let down by no atmosphere and staff who were not motivated . Shame it could be a great restaurant . Like the old taco bills

Ordered on Uber eats and the service was fast. However, my mushroom quesadilla had barely any contents. It was like eating plain wraps. There were about two slices of mushroom in the entire four pieces and hardly any cheese at all. So disappointed.

Vegan friendly
Taco Bill is one of my go-to Mexican restaurants. Much has not changed in 40 years (which isn’t necessarily bad) with a standard offering of tacos, burritos, and the La Combination (etc). Now they offer vegan menu items as well as the ability to make most dishes vegan.

Front staff were lovely! Very basic Mexican atmosphere but good vibe. Unfortunately the floor past the kitchen towards the customer toilets were covered in filth, which I only assume is from the 1920's. My burrito was lovely but the rice was pretty bland. Death by chocolate was the best part as it was made by the front of house staff. I watched as a kitchen staff member used a dirty broom to pull down a box... probably could have used it to sweep those 1920's floors. Oh well, probs just go back to Templestowe next time.

Love this place especially the food and the service. Strongly recommend this place for a fantastic mexican meal and the staff made my friend feel special by playing a birthday song as it was his birthday and gave a mexican pudding along with a sparkler. Love Taco Bill. Will be back for sure!!

I had a great experience at the Bentleigh Taco Bill. Food was quick and tasty! Had friendly service and even the take away containers came in aluminum instead of plastic! Deserved the 5 star rating. Will be back again soon :)

Just had the best dining in experience ever! We called 45 minutes before close and asked if we could dine in and they stayed open for us. Sam was really nice and the food was fast and so fresh and tasty! Best Mexican I’ve ever had. Great night great food - will definitely be back!

Worst Mexican I have ever eaten. We had home delivery from Taco Bill Bentleigh. The food was undercooked, swimming in oil and tasted off. Threw everything out and contacted them. They never got back to us. Just disgusting inedible food. Have reported them to the health department.

Ordered from Menulog, waited over an hour for delivery despite changing me $5 for the privilege. This was by far and away the worst Mexican food I have ever encountered. The fajitas were only enough oily slop to fill 2 out of the 4 tortillas .The lettuce was brown not edible. If I could give it minus stars I would do. Never again.

A poor excuse for Mexican food - soggy and tasteless. I’m surprised they’ve managed to stay open. Mexico City up the road is infinitely better.

I'm not sure why Taco Bill struggles so much with Mexican food. It's a pretty straight forward cuisine yet somehow they manage to do stuff like make the chicken in their chicken burrito taste like it came out of a can.

My wife and I visited tonight on a half price (mains) dinner offer.
2 mains ordered (Chicken Fajitas & Beef Fajitas) with the extras (cheese, sour cream, salsa).
BYO wine and 1 post mix completely fizzless coke ordered.
On a half price mains night the price-value equation is barely there to warrant a return visit.
No half price and the menu is seriously over-priced. Taste was OK - be in no doubt if you find a local Mexican place that cooks on a stove in its own kitchen give that a go first.
Decor was good, service was good. At best the place was 20% full at 7pm.

2 adults - $55 - on a half price mains dinner night.

I am so disgusted by what I was served. The food I was served looks nothing like what was on the ubereats images. The baked burrito and the enchilada were literally both containers of sludge. Cheap/fake greasy cheese covering the entire meal, feral presentation and absolutely no flavour. It looks and tasted like they went to the shops, bought some frozen burritos and added some canned beans to the container of munt. The taco was the most sad thing I have ever seen in my life. I will never visit Taco Bill again and I am now taking a trip to the toilet to spew up the revolting meal I was delivered. I wish I could erase this whole experience from my mind.

So there's a new Taco Bill in Bentleigh...let's give it a try. If you've been to a Taco Bill before you go there to get your dose of Mexican, while being easy on the wallet, not to be bowled over by flavours or anything out of the ordinary. Great service, good food, and the citrus slices in the glasses along with the jug of Mexican fruit punch were a nice touch...that's amazing value at just $6.

I called for food from here via menulog because I was jet lagged from my 29 hour flight and craving mexican food. I asked for nachos, a yucatan burrito and a vegetarian quesadilla. If you enjoy spicy food, make sure to ask for it to be spicy because I didn't, and to me the food tasted slightly bland. That being said, it would work just fine for people who don't enjoy spice all that much. All in all, it's a real value for money and I would definitely eat from/here again. :)

I came here in a group of 5 on Taco Bill's 50th Birthday event where they were offering 2 free tacos per person. Not surprisingly, it was busy from the moment we arrived. We were seated promptly at a large table at the front of the restaurant and the waitress took our order soon after. I'm sad to admit, that's where the good experience ended. We had ordered 10 of the free tacos (5 beef, 5 bean), Baja Fish Taco, Seafood Taco, Supreme Nachos, Salsa and a jug of the Classic Lemon Mexican Slushie (non-alcoholic). Of course, the paid food came out first which were served nice and hot except the nachos; they were cold and the cheese was like rubber. The tacos that followed were just plain disappointing... they were bland and cold. To add to the disappointment, they served one less taco than what was ordered and completely forgot about the Salsa order. Would I come back? Probably not, I've has better Mexican food experiences.
