Well this is how not to treat your customers You need to order at the table - then wait ages for your food. If you can find a waitress then you hit the jackpot. Order away and then hope to get your food. Kids waited a hour for food. While the food was ok the system stinks. Have to find another pub - and this pub need to get the system right. Order and pay at the counter, then get your meal in a timely manner. I don’t normally review but head to let you all know of our experience.

Held a mid-sized event there recently. Had a few setbacks with planning due to weather, but (new) management were really helpful and accommodating, providing good alternatives and helping us manage food, drinks, decorations, music etc... Function food platters were really good, definitely a step-up from party pies and sausage rolls, and reasonably priced too. Bar staff friendly. We didn't do Barefoot Bowls as it was nearly 40degrees, but the option was there! Would definitely recommend as a function venue, as they're obviously eager to please!

Food was good. The service let's them down a bit. Looks like there is a new manager who is having a go and trying to improve the offer. Will see how they go in the weeks and months ahead. Easy to get to. Kids play offer is underwhelming and really just a room to store high chairs.

Monday night was really quiet. Burger was great but all was ruined by the crabby old blonde woman serving behind the bar. So rude and bitter. Made us and our children feel unwelcome. I will go elsewhere next time and find a smile with service.

The limited menu for group bookings is poor and lazy. The ordering and delivery of food is disorganized and confusing for patrons and staff. Management need to pull their heads out and fix it. What should be a nice meal becomes an unpleasant ordeal.

New menu is amazing really well done with the renovations Will be a regular now. Pizzas are off the hook. Please start to deliver or uber eats them. No longer need to drive all the way to lygon st now 😀😀😀😀

Karaoke did bring alot of people joy with this Entertainment! This Karaoke entertainment that had people there early for Dinner 6pm and 8pm continuous through until 12Midnight! Not many people pay attention or listen to the One Guitar Singer in this New Large Bistro! People are more interested in "Eating" and chatting! The Singer is like backgroung Music! Singer finished at 11pm! Had Alot of Breaks with NO Music! With Karaoke, Music always continued "continuously" throughout the Night! With a Variety of Singers and styles of singers throughout the entire Night! - Meals - Senior Meals are down in Value, No More 3 Course Senior Meals! No Soup, Deserts discounted to $8 for Seniors is too dear! Steaks are very expensive here near $30 each! Burgers looked best Value at $16! ( Had a very long wait for my Meal and was given 2 Drinks for my long wait ) SOC has to pull their Socks Up. "SUGGESTIONS":- Put Karaoke in Bistro! Can Request all slow songs for 1 hr and Normal Karaoke songs 9pm to 12Midnight! Alot more people will Return to SOC !

Very disappointed - we booked a show only to discover the bistro is closed to show patrons... due to a booked function. Obviously zero consideration for show goers. Looks like we’re sent elsewhere to eat. Not a great first time welcome guys👎 perhaps rethink your management strategy.

I really wanted to like it here... that’s why I gave it a third go. Unfortunately, I didn’t! Just a question.. why would you have a frozen pattie from a supermarket and claim it’s Angus Beef mince? Absolutely shocking!

Yes the place looks like your standard Bowls/ Pokie venue but the food is a standout surprise. The Hot Sue pizza goes off like a cracker and the Beef Cheek Masala was one of the best curries I've ever had. For a cheeky local in the burbs you can't miss.

New menu new revamped bistro... The risotto is amazing the service is lovely prices fantastic location a hop skip and a jump and finally PIZZA that is mouth watering and authentic. seriously. It is as good as lygon street pizza.. The only place my husband asks each week "want to go the local?" Ive lived in the area from birth and to date the best local bistro in town. Only downside kids entertainment is a bit poor. they need some tables and chairs or blocks for you ger children got rid of the lego and my son was bored after 1min.

Went to the SOC after family had organised our catch up to be there. I never really hold out too much hope for the food in a place like this but we were very pleasantly surprised. It wasn't very busy so I don't know if that was a factor but 2 of us ordered the risotto which was lovely, one ordered the livers and he was VERY impressed... Said they were very well cooked. Another had the salmon and said it was cooked to perfection while the others had the fish of the day (which I think was barramundi) and absolutely loved it. Very happy diners!
