Gorgeous cafe, amazing food, lovely staff and the best coffee in berwick.
The smoked salmon croque monsieur is a must for salmon lovers Can’t wait to go back!
GK and I dropped in for lunch today and it did not disappoint! The waitress was very attentive and took our order which was from the "Specials Board". I chose the Zucchini Fritters with avocado, smoked salmon and an egg! The dish was beautifully presented ( I didn't get a photo) and tasted delicious! GK chose the Pulled Pork burger which was he said was very tasty!
We started with flat white coffees, which were very good! I enjoyed my coffee so much I had a second after the meal!
Ambience is lovely and welcoming! Thankyou Moosh and staff, we will be back!
It’s changed owners recently, but there’s been no drop in quality. The coffee is great, the menu is really diverse, and the staff are friendly and considerate.
Dog friendly, vegetarian friendly, highly recommended.
Dropped in for brekky with the family and although extremely busy, they got through the orders in good timing. The lovely wife had the “special” and enjoyed it and I’m normally a bacon, eggs and toast kind of guy but thought I’d try something different so I went out on a limb and had the Zucchini Fritters with salmon...... let’s just say it prompted me to post this review........absolutely magnificent!
We popped in after a very long time and realised it was a new owner. The food was fantastic and we will be back soon for sure!! Baked eggs were on point!
Amazing! The service and food was fabulous. Terrific menu, well priced items... a hidden gem!
Without a doubt the best coffee in Berwick. Delicious food, good coffee + great service = a happy customer!
Today I had a crepe and it was seriously amazing I haven’t had one this good in a long time. I also got one of the best iced coffees aswell. The service was great and staff were friendly.
What an amazing place to have a beautiful meal great service and the food was awesome and very well priced
Absolutely wonderful breakfast. Service is fast and pleasant and the ricotta pancakes are to die for.
My new favourite restaurant in Berwick
Excellent coffee. Maybe the best in Berwick. The owners recommended the orange brownie. It did not disappoint. Delicious.
Loved our breakfast! Great coffee, delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Loved it. I’ve been meaning to go there for a while. So glad I went. Food was delicious. Loved the coffee. Fantastic service and ambience. Would highly recommend this cafe.
Awesome cafe. Excellent food, atmosphere and service. If you want somewhere special definitely the place to go.
Beautiful atmosphere, food and friendly staff. Highly recommended place for lunch.
I LOVED these crepes! The taste of orange and vanilla was just marvellous! The flaming liquor also added to the beautiful presentation!!
Love the place, great fresh and beautifully presented food. There is always interesting specials with a solid regular menu which is always consistent in quality and the coffees are always well done!
The venue is relaxed clean and presented nicely, it is my choice venue for meetings or lunch with the family.
Without a doubt one of the best in Berwick!
Mix up with our reservation so they went out of our way to accomodate us on a busy day. Was not particularly overwhelmed with the offering on the menu but was extremely impressed the food. Fresh, great flavours all done very well. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food. Ambiance and dining is somewhat dated and sterile but makes up for fantastic food
Lovely service and food was pretty good too! Not usually a coffee person because of the bitterness, but I tried a little of my mum’s cappuccino and I was pleasantly surprised by the nice roasted flavour! It wasn’t bitter at all and I would definitely order myself a coffee too the next time I’m back.
I’ve been getting to know the area of Berwick more, and after trying several cafes I can definitely I’ve found my favourite here at La Baguette! ❤️
The coffee is sensational and always consistent! Tried the hot chocolate and that is definitely something special.
I really enjoyed the cinnamon toast! It was a simple dish but truly divine. My partner really enjoyed his lamb benedict.
This cafe is very special and carries a lovely relaxing vibe, and incorporates a wonderful French aspect to everything! The decor makes you feel like you are in France. You always feel so welcomed and remembered by the staff!
Went there a few weeks ago on a rainy day. For the area its the best you are going to find. My sandwich was nice, coffee the right temperature, the decor is interesting but not over the top and the atmosphere relaxed.
FAST Food Review FOOD - The Lamb Benedict, Beef Bourguignon Burger & Almond Croissant are definite must tries. Hope to see more menu options added in future. Drinks: Relax with a pot of tea, served with British style presentation. Dessert: Reasonable range of cakes and tarts. Kids: Good options on Kids Menu. - 4/5
AMBIENCE - Feels like a Parisian Cafe. Perfect place to chill out all afternoon and have quality conversations with loved ones over nice relaxing music. - 4.5/5
SERVICE - Very friendly new Owner, who took the time to chat to us throughout our dining experience. Food was delivered within reasonable time by the very friendly Waitress. - 4.5/5
TOTAL - Pleasing overall experience. We will be back. - 13/15
Cute little cafe. Had the baked eggs which were yummy! Reasonably priced except for tea, which at $4.50 a pot is a bit overpriced, but great service and atmosphere otherwise.
This is such a gem in Berwick. The slow cooked lamb Benedict was absolutely delicious and the berwick special was even more amazing. The staff were super friendly and my only negative was that my boyfriend is a big eater so found the portions a little small. But quality over quantity!
Very friendly service, the coffee took a little longer than normal, but it was well worth it, great coffee.
And the breakfast I had was very up there in presentation, it was quite a delicate serious restaurant style meal, however it could have been a bit larger, ( I was hungry ) but very good never the less.
Lovely service, good ambiance in terms of music and French inspired deco ❤️ Coffee and pastry were memorable. Food overall was average to good - the menu could be more nuanced.
I had visited this place in the past and wasn't that impressed, but when I saw the sign 'under new management' I thought I would give them another shot. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! Fantastic Coffee, friendly service and their crepes are one of a kind amazing.
Delightful staff. Great coffee. Both the Croque monsieur & button mushroom dishes were delicious & we topped off our lunch with a yummy banana & Nutella crepe.
It's tucked away behind main street but worth looking for.
Food was delicious, service was ace, La Baguette Cafe was a great brunch experience. I would receomend if you are in this neck of the woods.
Visited La Baguette with a friend for brunch and was surprised it wasn't very busy for the duration we were there, considering how crazy the main street was.
Service we received was very friendly, although we received an incorrect side order even we got our food, even though our order was repeated back properly to us when the order was taken. Not a problem, but one issue I had was that they offer lactose free milk on the menu but then was told they don't have it.
In terms of the actual food and drinks: the field mushrooms were great, they were cooked to the right softness and seasoned perfectly, but I found the bread over grilled so it was a little too charred for my taste. Eggs and hash brown were pretty on point. The coffees also arrived a few minutes after our food did, and was too hot in temperature.
Overall it's a nice cafe in the suburbs, but certainly there are some things to improve on. I'll be back though and hopefully the little things are improved on. The decor of the place is also with mentioning, you can tell a lot of thought has been placed on it and it's beautiful!
Really loved my lunch I had with some friends a few months back, coffee was great and the waiter was some nice eye candy too haha. All in all a very nice experience.
They also had some locally made soaps for purchase which was quite cute.
It is a great place to have lunch or dinner we enjoyed the food and the music is nice i would gladly recamend this place to my family and friends
Fantastic, wonderful food, service couldn't be faulted we are heading back for lunch soon. Atmosphere and great friends made for great day out
I went into this cafe high expectations! Love french food. We were seated straght away but went downhill from there. A long wait of the coffee which came were quite average. Poached eggs over cooked. Loved the bagel it was good. Presented well.
Perfect little cafe in Berwick! So easy to get a park and a table as it is behind the Main Street. The staff were exceptional - went above and beyond and were super friendly. The food was delicious and I will definitely be a regular!
Quaint little gem located in the heart of Berwick. Went for a casual lunch with family. We ordered the french onion soup with cheesy croutons, the La Baguette Benedict, pork jowl french fries with pork jus and a bottle of champagne. The menu features french favourite's such as crepes, french onion soup as well as a variety of baguettes options. For breakfast lovers theres an all day option. Hooray! The decor complimented the cafe quiet nicely, adding to the french flair. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. Definitely one to visit!
Friendly customer service. The coffee is delicious which can be said about the food. The whole decore and vibe was so relaxed its the perfect Sunday breakfast place in Berwick
Great food, great drinks, great everything, will definitely come back, would highly recommend anyone to come, we had a table of 8 for lunch and we loved it
Beautiful light breakfast! Yummiest croissant I've had in a long time and plenty of butter and jam to go with it! Caramel latte was to die for!!
We've been here a few times for breakfast. Love the croissants. Also tried a croque which was good. The hot chocolate is notable, you get a choice between milk, dark or white chocolate. Good, friendly service...it's on our local favorites list. For breakfast, our average cost is $20-25 per head including drinks.

Fantastic local spot tucked away from the busy street. Staff were so friendly and accomodating we had a pram and they happily made room for us. The menu was fantastic a huge selection something for everyone.
The coffee was nice also.
The French toast was so amazing although got a bit sickly towards the end a bit too sweet but I chose it so next time will try a different version.
Bananna bread was nice although a bit disappointed it wasn't served warm.
Not cheap but you can tell they live what they do slot of work goes into each plate.
Found this little cafe in Berwick this morning while looking for breakfast was greeted staight away by a lovely smiling waitress it was excellent service would just like to thank Sharon for the lovely experience good food and great service would highly recommend food was great Thankyou Sharon and staff John
Best croque monsieur in Melbourne! This cosy cafe has an impressive decoration and nice French menu. We were delighted with the excellent service provided by the friendly staff. Definitely we will come back again... and again...
Great service coupled with delicious food and a rich French ambiance. There coffees and cakes were scrumptious. The treats are a touch expensive but worth every cent.
Absolutely gorgeous little local cafe - la Parisian style! The thought and effort put into the decor of this cafe is well worth the visit.
Most of the staff have French accents which just adds to the authenticity.
Ordered the poached eggs, smashed avocado with cherry tomatoes and fetta cheese. Absolutely cooked to perfection.
Ham and cheese croissant also lovely and great coffee.
Will be back!
We really enjoyed this place. The ambience is perfect, service tops. Could tell the kids loved the ham and cheese crepes, even finished the salad. I love the croissant, the texture and taste was absolutely great.
I will definitely be coming back after my experience today! I booked a table for 15 for an early Mothers Day breakfast. The staff were amazing, the food was served in a timely fashion and it was delicious. The coffee was amazing as were the sweets. I would recommend the Croque Madam, coffee and the almond croissant. Definitely worth a visit.
Came in for a brunch and left absolutely satisfied. Service was top notch, although they did get a minor part of the order wrong (fried egg when asked for poached) the person serving us was very adamant that she would take it back and bring the correct order, which was very nice. But decided to go with what we had as we were on the clock. Got the French omelette and the Mrs got the crepes. Presentation was gorgeous, and the food was very satisfying. Coffee was pretty decent too. The "petite salad" as they call it was indeed very good, and that's something coming from a predominantly meat eater!! I think this was the first time that I ever finished a salad!! If you are in the area, do drop in. This is a little gem in Berwick.
Wow...love this place A++++ Service and Food AMAZING.
After finding this place..I dont want to go anywhere else :)
As a loyal customer I must add a comment to the previous person who rated this cafe.
Ummm...yeah...why trash a great place?
I think you are over dramatizing the situation as you seem to do in most of your reviews?
I think your credibility is shot anyway since you review a lot of places you eat at negatively....
Everyone who works there are loverly...and I have been going there since it opened and always has been consistently GREAT!
La Baguette cafe is a slice of Paris in the middle of Berwick. From the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed with warm hearts and honest personalities, and the experience only got better from there. The waiter talked to us not only to suggest amazing dishes but about food and quality in general. The food came promptly and was perfection. The quiche had a tender texture and a flavour unmatched. Dining at La Baguette was a meditative experience which I wish to try again and again.

Lovely little place for a good coffee and a snack of the sweet kind, too many yummy cakes to choose from and not enough time to eat everything.....
Really quaint little place. Food has always been nice and they make a decent coffee. It's also nice being served by friendly French staff! Quite an authentic little place.
Best French breakfast ever. Loved Conquer Monsieur with poached eggs on top. Great atmosphere! Definitely come back to try the French toast menu as my friend said it was delicious...
Lovely cafe ! breakfast was delicious and generous and staff friendly nice place to sit on a cold wet day . Had a breakfast of eggs bacon and extras... kids had a milkshake in jar which was beautifully presented . All food was yummy
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Become a new favourite in the area as the food is always good and great coffee. Well worth a visit!
Don't even remember the number of times I've been here. One of my favourite restaurants in Berwick. Hidden away from the main street behind the shops is this gem that i found by accident one day. Decor is absolutely stunning and beautiful with parisian decor and silverware. Food can be on the little upper end of price but it really is delicious! Baguettes are great too but i think i prefer softer breads.
They are going to open for dinners on fri and sat nights which the menu is certainly looking inviting.
The decor is cute french kitsch with lots of adorable touches like candles, flowers and framed pictures around the place. When we got there it was late afternoon and the place was still busy. The cabinets were pretty much cleared out, a good sign that it had been a non-stop sort of day. Seriously so cute, isn’t it?
Cute find in the back streets of Berwick. Been here twice now and have been extremely happy both times! Service was good and breaky was even better
What a cute find in the heart of Berwick!
French decor- very cute and kitch.
Friendly and helpful staff that really went out of their way to make our visit memorable.
Food was fantastic! I highly recommend the mushroom and goats cheese omelette. They were so generous with the Meredith goats cheese!
They use lots of local ingredients and products, which I think is great.
Plus they have Prana Chai.
Check out their display cabinets- when we went it was late in the day and they still looked impressive.
Seriously a lovely spot. I would love to head back to try the rest of the menu!
Wonderful food and service. Will be back ... Great coffee. Love the music and atmosphere. Nice and relaxed yet Classy and quite peaceful . Best croque Monsieur to date
Really nice hidden gem in the middle of Berwick. Nice French music playing and authentic decor. Had 2-3 staff members come outside to check on us, despite being the only ones sitting outside we were not forgotton. Extensive menu.
A group of friends and I visit La Baguette regularly for morning tea and breakfast. The service, tea, coffee, atmosphere and food are all of a high standard. There are a lot of cafes in the area to choose from but we keep coming back to La Baguette because the experience is always good.
This is such a great place to have in Berwick. I love France and going to eat there brings back wonderful memories. The food is delicious! The presentation creative! The service spot on. Just love it and thank you. The way the cafe is set out is beautiful also. Go there you will love it too!
Berwick's hidden gem. Best coffee, superb decor, great service. A little piece of Paris for Berwick to treasure.
La Baguette Cafe. Outstanding cafe experience with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is of exceptional quality, presentation and excellent value. Very pleasant and hospitable staff with the best coffee in Berwick. Our favorite place.
My favourite Cafe!!. I come here every weekend! It's my favourite cafe! The staff are so friendly, the food is always great and the coffee is the best!!!!
TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG!. Coffee is great, food is great, waiting staff are very polite but the kitchen is way to slow!
Yes it was busy but you shouldn't have to wait for an hour for brioche with berries and quiche & fries with salad!
We loved the ambience of la Baguette & when we received our meal we really enjoyed it.
Our waiter and waitress were apologetic as was the owner when we paid which I appreciated.
So yes we will definitely eat here again.
Great find!. Stumbled across this gem of a cafe! I'm fussy with my coffee and it passed with flying colours. Brekky was unreal and staff were wonderful. Chai tea was incredible too. Met the owners who are hard working, friendly people. Will definately be back! :-)
Daughter took me here for breakfast on my birthday. Wow! What a lovely little place. Great decore, great atmosphere, great service, great meal and the coffee was excellent.
Highly recommend this place.
What a Bastille Day Celebration. La Baguette deserved to be fully patronised for its Bastille Day presentation. Such a cross section of people enjoyed the French ambience, decorations, live music, wine tasting, fabulous French cheese platters and sumptuous fare. So much choice, but I settled for the Provincial Seafood Bisque soup, a steak ideally cooked for me in red wine and shallot butter served with roasted duck fat potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Yummy. I couldn't go past the passion fruit crème brulee, but will go back to try the chocolate swirl Meringue with glazed strawberry and the scrumptious looking Croquembouche. I wish they opened for dinner, but they are doing a superb job of the long breakfast and lunch. People are voting with their feet and I am one of them. Dr Ian Gordon.
Roast Pork Baguette and Children's Macaroni Cheese. Have been back to La Baguette on several occasions since it was suggested by a friend. ..what can I say but wow..food is fresh and extremely tasty. My daughters love the Macaroni Cheese which is a terrific price. I have enjoyed several coffees and hot chocolates both as scrumptious as each other. Every meal and cake have been delicious so I can highly recommend. Staff are warm and inviting. I have also purchased a few of the delightful French soap products. An all round pleasant experience. ..a nice place to linger with your partner or a yummy luncheon spot for your clan .....enjoy!!
OH MY!! What an amazing cafe! Stopped in for a quick coffee but the menu was to tempting to resist. Had an amazing baguette (egg, bacon & relish) and a Lindt hit chocolate. The atmosphere and vibe was so relaxed and the staff welcome you like an old friend. Love this new cafe in Berwick.

The coffee is fair trade and locally roasted and mine was excellent! Hot, strong, bold and a little nutty (just like Charlie Sheen??). They use Fair Trade Grata Espresso coffee beans sourced from Bendigo, Victoria. Hot chocolate is by Lindt and they serve Garnet Tea.
I enjoy working here on a corner table a couple of times a week. The food is fantastic, and it's not too loud on most days. The wait staff are friendly and attentive.
I've docked one star because I've been here five or six times over the last couple of weeks, and on two occasions, I was served a heavily curdled soy latte. The last one was the worst coffee I think I've been served anywhere, to be frank (essentially, tofu), and I was told that "sometimes this happens". It shouldn't. (Soy milk shouldn't be heated up as much as regular milk, or it curdles when it comes into contact with the espresso). Barista training is required.
It's my only criticism, everything else is fantastic, but gee, it ruins the experience.
TLDR: Food is great. Coffee needs improvement. The food will keep me coming back.
Lovely hidden gem indeed! We rarely eat out and when we do, this place is our go to!
Lovely and dedicated owner! 👍🙏
Very nice crepes, by the way! 👌👌👌
Had coffee, Nutella crepe and ratatouille eggs both were great.
Was wished Eid Mubarak by a staff member as well 😊.
They have halal meat as well. You can mention during ordering if you want it.
If you live in or are going through Berwick, drop past La Baguette Café and try the greatest Egg, Bacon, Chorizo & Cheese sandwich on the planet.
(I eat breakfast all over the place, so I'm a good judge 😁😉)
The owner Mush is lovely too!
Nice clean and good layout.
Staff were great.
Coffee was light and had a caramel tones to it. (I like strong full flavor) different is not bad, I just would ask next time for stronger or double shot.
Big Breakfast was just the right amount. Avo was well seasoned and a had lemon on it. Potty the hollandaise didn’t. Eggs were perfect. OJ could have been colder or had ice in it.
For a second out of lockdown, and a public holiday was really nice.
Would come again.
Food was beautiful as always, took some time to get our toasties out, which is understandable during such a busy time.
Although the only thing that caused a 4 star rather than a 5 was that, when my young son approached the waiter to ask how long the food would be, she told him he needs to have patience. Considering it was 40 minutes into the wait, some empathy and reassurance would have been a lot better.
The chicken avocado sandwhich was beautiful but the red cake was not that great.
The staff are lovely.
I didn't have to wait long for my food either.
Would definitely go again but I would skip the cake next time.
Thank you for the food :)
Food was delicious, great customer service
