I'm from Austria and this place is absolute heaven for me. I've missed Leberkäse ever since we moved to Australia 16 years ago and so far I've found it at one other place. These guys blow that other place out of the water in the taste and price department. They also have a much better and more varied selection of sausages and other smallgoods. The Krapfen were also brilliant and the customer service just magnificent.
This place will be my go-to from whenever we come to Sydney in the future!
Ordered a deli platter from the German Butchery and the platter and service was fantastic. Also love the kranskies, chilli cheese mmm... Yum! Keep up the great work!
Have had the pleasure of tasting meat from this butcher and found it to be of excellent quality and taste. Hams are particularly good. Would definitely recommend.

Big range of German meats and a few good value sandwiches, even if they do price at X.95. My kransky was pretty good in a decent but soft roll but German stalls at markets often do it better and typically have a good crusty roll.

Ready to move on from Sydney’s ubiquitous burgers, I’ve become convinced that hotdogs should be our next big thing. My hunt for the perfect hotdog recently took me to Bexley North, and the German Butchery Deli & Café. This light-filled glass box sits, quite conveniently, on the edge of a large council car park. A long, glass delicatessen counter filled with hams, cold cuts, cooked salamis, and both fresh and continental sausages, takes up most of the space. It’s a bewilderingly big range of products, all made in their Mona Vale factory. If you’re new to continental sausages, their online store does have excellent descriptions, that will get you choosing between their bratwurst, currywurst, weisswurst and knackwurst with ease. They also have a Click and Collect service where you can choose online, and then turn up and collect your order in person like I did. I love how there is a traditional German shop and deli in Bexley, although I've only tried their salty pretzels ! Keen to try more of their products. They seem to have many awards or accreditations

Adore this place! They make their own delicious European sausages & smallgoods, & they're still lovely people with no foodie pretensions.
My favorites after many visits:
- maple-cured bacon. Best in Sydney & they have the prizes to prove it. Since trying this I just don't eat any other bacon.
- leberkase - fond memories of Munich - which also comes in big raw loaves to bake yourself, and in mini-loaves
- their black forest ham is nice but unusual - more like proscuitto
- currywurst & hot sopressa salami
- I love lyoner & they make it with capsicum pieces, and also with peppercorns
- best soft pretzels anywhere, make sure you buy a bagful
- plenty of mustards, house-made sauerkraut & red cabbage, rye & seed breads...
As a combined butcher/deli/cafe, you can also sit & have coffee & German softdrinks & donuts, & of course a cold cuts roll or pretzel with a couple of sausages. They're very close to Bexley North station, I come & stock up my freezer instead of paying more for inferior meat at city delis. Highly recommended.
The sausages from the German Butchery are excellent! Love the chilli kransky and the currywurst. The liverwurst is also great. And there are a bunch of awesomely nostalgic (for me anyway because I grew up in Berlin) German snacks and deli items like Rotkohl and Sauerkraut.
The German Butchery in Bexley North is a hidden gem for lovers of real German food.
They have absolutely authentic tasting German small goods and sausages as well as a small selection of pantry supplies.
We left with a big box of fresh Bratwurst, Leberkaes, Leberwurst, Frankfurters (Wiener Wuerstchen for those familiar) and other cold cuts as well as favourite German sauces and products from Thomy, Kuehne, Haendlmaier etc.
Seeing these hard to find products in Sydney like Remoulade, curry ketchup, sweet Bavarian mustard, Sauergurken, Knoedel etc made the family’s eyes light up and so it was easy to fill the empty space in our box.
We noticed that they also had some German style breads, brezn and cake slices for sale but we did not try them.
All the items are very reasonably priced. Parking is easy in the carpark adjoining.

An amazing hidden gem that specialises in German meat produce. My wife and I visited this place after looking at the reviews for a ham to serve for Christmas and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a wide range of German sausages, cured meats, ham, German groceries and a cafe that serves lunch and coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to visit again to support this local business.
Absolutely fabulous produce and reliable delivery. Having moved from Sydney to the Central Coast I was missing all the German produce I grew up eating thanks to my Austrian father. It felt like Christmas come early when we received our delivery. Couldn't be happier.
Love the products! I can now get them delivered as well! We had our delivery last week, made by the lovely Madeleine, and visited her in store today to find a bag full of goodies and fresh warm Brezn... they did neither made it home or survived to be eaten cold! Alas my favourite: Almdudler!!! Came home with us... had to fight the rest of family and looking forward to our next delivery and visit to Bexley!
Amazing business with awesome staff putting in the extra effort needed to get through the pandemic that we all must face. They went above and beyond in assisting me with my order and any questions or issues I had.
