What warm hospitality from Dominic and his staff on a freezing cold night. The food was delicious and worth coming back for. I finally got the mouthwatering beef burger that I had been craving! Perfect balance of seasoned meat and sauce on a yummy milk bun (not brioche for once). Home made pickles and finger licking buffalo chicken wings as a starter. Why cook at home when the Hungry Bird does it better. Highly recommend this place for casual dining :)
It’s Tax season. Best thing about that is my accountant is very close to this amazing chicken and burger shop. Inventory on my money, then some inventory on fried chicken, wings and burgers. Everything at Hungry Bird is prepared in shop and is as fresh as a newborns fart. The double cheesie was an incredible burger. Juicy, flavoursome and hardy. Knocked this big unit out. The owner Dom was happy, friendly and accommodating. He made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. If you love a feed try this joint out. Bexley isn’t that far from anywhere. Finally tried the Beef burger today after always alternating between the two delicious chook burgers. It was seriously to die for! Perfectly seasoned Patty with the most delicious special sauce. Salads are fresh and modern, not your usual chicken shop variety (hallelujah). Well done guys. Unfortunately my waistline can’t cope with weekly visits but its the 16yr olds go to burger joint. Loves it’s so much he wants to work there!
So needed in the area, both times I've come been exactly what you'd expect from a good chicken shop. Butterfly chicken with Peri Peri was so damn good, had it with roasted potatoes and cold bean and feta salad, epic stuff. Chicken burgers are right on point. Totally recommend it! If you live near by do yourself a favour! Fellas running it are happy and friendly too.
Best beef burger I've ever had, I already went back for seconds and I can't wait to go back for thirds. The mac n cheese was also delicious and the fried chicken was to devour! I definitely recommend for a nice, casual & delicious lunch or dinner.

Well, Josh just brought home dinner and this place.. only located at Bexley North.. is the BEST chicken and burger shop I have ever had the pleasure of eating from. The cheeseburger.. omg the cheeseburger.. if you and your partner are having that "what do you want to eat" shit fight, you go there.
I never rate or review anything because I am lazy and don't care but this burger has made me so happy that I just want everyone to feel this kind of joy.
First moved to Bexley North in August of 2016 and thought that the local shops needed a chicken joint. Don and John the super friendly owners of the Hungry Bird knocked it out of the park. Best fucking chicken out around these parts, nothing else compares. Probably the best chicken available in Sydney, no hyperbole. Legit. Check it and bring the fam. Even their fries are better than anywhere else, sprinkled with parsley. Much love boys.

Staff are seriously lovely but more importantly, sorry guys, the food is amazeballs! The chicken is perfect and the mayo, you must try the mayo. Then top it off with a flavour packed salad. Try it once and you'll be back!

Our suburb just keeps getting better! Because it was raining we decided to get fried chicken. lol! I know! Noodle soup and rainy night should be the perfect combination. Anyway, we found The Hungry Bird Chicken as among the shops that sells fried chicken and its not too far away from our address. So the husband brave the rain and went to the shop. It was a small shop with some seating. Menu is not extensive and looks very promising. Orders didn't take too long. Except for the grilled/ charcoal chicken which he has to wait for a bit. When he got home and opened the boxes - whoa! Huge chicken slices and it all smelled so crazy good. And we were not disappointed. By the way we both got the charcoal chicken and the fried chicken. Both were good. The fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and perfectly juicy on the inside. The coating was well seasoned. But the winner in my opinion is the charcoal chicken. The herbs, the aroma and the taste of the chicken is just something I would eat over and over. Although the chicken was a bit dry but the taste just overwhelms you with delight. Another fave chicken spot on our list.

The best burgers in the area! I've had high expectations after hearing such good things about this place and I absolutely enjoyed my meal and will be back to try other things on the menu!
Some of the best cheeseburgers you will find in Sydney and that's saying a lot with places like Mary's and Bar Luca churning out their little treats.
The fried chicken is no different, well cooked, well seasoned, crunchy and tender in all the right places.
To top it off great service from guys who are obviously passionate about what they do, which you can tell from their homemade pickles to their homemade jalapeno and orange sauce.
This place should be top of the list for all you burger and fried chicken freaks.
They also have a great selection of salads, if that's your thing!

Wowowowow. It takes a fair bit in this day and day to surprise me, but this place pulled the rug out from beneath me. Dom the owner operator takes great pride in his product, from charcoal chicken - to fried chicken (was amazing!) - to burgers. He knows about all his ingredients too. The blend of his meat, the quality of his bacon and the house made pickles he makes months in advance. GET THERE! You won't regret it.
I had the lamb roll with slaw, pickles and garlic sauce and it was to die for, everything in perfect balance. I can not stop thinking about it.
I've been here twice for dinner and both times I've been very impressed. I got the classic chicken burger combo the first night and just everything thing about that burger was a frequent to flavour town. I also tried the southern fried burger and it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. Definitely going to regular this place

I had the best fried chicken experience here. I have also been here another time to try the burgers and they are awesome. I loved the buns. The mac & cheese was soooooo good.
Tried for the first time after seeing reviews on burger pages and we were very satisfied. Beef patties are cooked well, not pink inside but still juicy and flavoursome.
No over the top burger ingredients either which was a big plus - love it when food is kept simple! The beef patty is about 150g of mince, so it's not a small serve either. French fries were yummy and seasoned well.
They are a chicken shop so they serve up charcoal and southern fried chicken. We didn't get to sample this time around but will try very soon!
Friendly staff and super friendly owner who was chatting to everybody. It's definitely a hidden gem for now as it wasn't too busy during mid week dinner time. But we doubt that will last long!
Prices are very reasonable too, what you'd expect from your local chicken shop. Do yourselves a favour and pop in!
Great people own this place and great food. The burgers and fried chicken are awesome. The burger is the winner though. Can't believe a local take away is serving up burgers that are competitive to the city. Milk buns, thick patties, in house special sauce etc.
I also tried the charcoal chicken... A small piece. Worthwhile trying and would compete with the likes of Charcoal Kingdom and neos for those in the area

The charcoal chicken is full of flavour, moist and I would say the best in the area.
The buffalo wings are hard to beat and chips this good have not been had for a very long time.
Try the fresh beetroot slaw which is hard to stop eating. Absolutely Awesome !!

The owner is so, so friendly, always welcoming and hospitable to all customers that come through the door. We got chatting about what makes good southern fried chicken, and about how their hot sauce on all the tables is mixed in house. Gave me a free drumstick to try with my burger, and it was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside; possibly the best fried chicken I've had.

Tried the Hungry Bird Chicken & it was deliciously moist & not dry like some Charcoal Chickens you buy! The Peri -Peri sauce is a real tasty compliment & a perfect match. Not normally a Beef burger eating person! but had to try one after drooling over my friends burger sitting proudly on his plate! I can honestly say this is the best Burger I have ever eaten, it was a delight to the taste buds & I will definitely heading back to the Bird on a regular basis for their scrumptious food! Great environment, very helpful & friendly guys!
What a find this place was! Juicy burgers that are better than any we have eaten in Sydney (yes, even better than a Mary’s burger), succulent southern fried chicken, delicious salads. The staff are lovely and obviously care about their food. If you love burgers, or chicken, then this is a must.
So happy I finally got to try Hungry Bird tonight! The staff are brilliant - very chill & instantly likeable. The boss is a legend who truly cares about his customers and is super friendly. The chicken rolls, cheeseburgers, chips, southern fried chicken and omg... the Mac and cheese are too bloody good!!! I'm so so so so so so lucky that I now live a minute away from the shop... Kudos to you guys!!! Great stuff!
