Spring rolls and rice paper rolls absolutely delicious. Soup was full of delicious prawn dumplings and plenty of veggies. The soup base was a bit bland- I am used to Thy Thy one which was cooked for 5 hours using chicken and pork bones. We will definitely be going back! Service was terrific.
Since recently opening, we have regularly enjoyed the delicious food from Halong Bay, we love it! Especially the pork salad, rice paper rolls and noodles. Thank you!
So pleased to have this little Vietnamese gem at our local restaurant strip. More of a relaxed cafe than a restaurant with a small but delicious menu and a few great specials. Prices are excellent and serves are perfect sized. We have eaten there a few times lately and have been dreaming about our next hot bowl of pho (which incredibly is available from 10am and makes the ultimate breakfast). I was also impressed by their delicious home made seafood dumplings freshly made with seafood from the Melbourne markets (no frozen imported rubbish) so be sure to ask for them when you go. Lovely friendly staff and BYO.
Update: 11 April 2019. If you’re after something hearty, warm and delicious in the cooler months make sure you try their new stewed beef. I had some for lunch today and it was amazing. Served with crusty bread to mop up all the delicious sauce. Mmmmmm yum
Really fresh delicious food. We had the wagu pho which had loads of meat in it and really lovely broth, chicken spring rolls, easily the best I’ve ever had, farmers made rice I think it was called which we asked to be spicy, they tossed through beautiful fresh chillies. Everything was perfect and the customer service matched. Extremely reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this place!
I came here with a friend on a week night. We were the only table in the restaurant at 6pm and the reataurant was quiet until we left at 8pm. Perhaps this is due to them not yet acquiring their liquor licence or perhaps it was just a week day night. We ordered the seafood spring rolls, the chicken spring rolls and the dry vermicelli noodles with roast pork. The spring rolls arrived piping hot and delicious - crispy and moreish accompanied with lettuce cups, mint and fish sauce to dip in. The roast pork noodles was fresh and flavourful - it had loads of fresh veggies and some herbs and lots of roast pork which was fatty with crunchy crackling. It was also a generous serve and we could not finish it. The only suggestion I would make is: the springrolls as entrees came out first but before we could finish them the mains came. When we had finished the entrees no one came to collect the plates. After we finished our mains still no one came to collect the plates for another 30mins as we sat and talked and there was no one else in the restaurant! I hope the service improves especially when they get busier. But otherwise the food is great and the place is clean so I can’t wait to try other dishes next time.
First visit but I'm sure it won't be the last. Really good Vietnamese food. I'm useably not a fan of spring rolls but theirs were awesome - light, crispy and flavoursome. The grilled salmon in banana leaves was delicious and the Pho was good. Everything was fresh and well presented. Value was OK overall but some dishes such as the salmon were a little pricey for a cafe.
The service was friendly and helpful but two of the mains were very slow coming to our table. The Pho was so slow that everyone else had finished and was ready to go! Admittedly they were super busy, as it was Australia Day, so all was forgiven.
we love the food in here!!! we have PHO, vegetarian rice paper roll and roasted Duck fried rice which are all fresh and full of flavor. they are also made a supper nice fresh red juice that we love so much. Definitely come back next time!!!
