Had dinner here tonight with my brother and we both loved it! We had the Lucky 7 pork set which of good value, and most of all: TASTY. The food was of excellent quality, and service was great too. We'll be returning to try the beef cuts on offer! :)
I had a great time here. Price is appropriate and service is great. It can be busy around 5-6pm so it is best to book prior to your visit. (Bonus: one of the few places where the staff cook for you so you don't have to worry about eating charcoal)

Michu is probably my favourite kbbq in the Eastern suburbs, the staff is attentive throughout the night in spite of having a large group. The quality and selections of meats are all well marinated and are of high quality. I especially appreciate the extra butter they put on the mushroom as well as the sides of corn (my fav). Overall, it was a quality meal that our entire group really enjoyed!! Would go back again!!
If you're a Korean BBQ lover and don't live in the city, Michu is the way to go. Get any of their Wagyu and pork belly selection and accompany them with their out of this world kimchi pancakes! Oh, don't forget to book for dinner, they can get quite busy.
Very interesting booking system. I have got told 8pm session was only available. When we arrive there at 5 past 8 there were not many people was there to dine in.
We order $100 for 3 Angus beef set and ox tongue, japche, chicken salad and kimchi soup.
All the meal was nice. I think everyone enjoy the dinner.
What an awesome place! The service is lovely and the food is amazing. We got the Angus set for 3 people and I do not even eat or like much meat but it was so tender and tasty!!! We also had delicious mushrooms and corn, plus the jap-chae salad was soooo good.
We sat and enjoyed our meal for two hours in a relaxed, fun environment. It was very good value too- $100 between the 3 of us for the food.

Really nice local place for some k-bbq. The service is great and the place is clean. They cook the meat for you and always serve with a smile. The premium Wagyu set was more than enough to satisfy us and I gotta say the quality was more than I had expected. Overall one of the better Korean bbq's in the area and not pretentious at all.
Walked into Michu and was instantly curious about what I was walking into for dinner! Great decor with an industrial vibe. Staff were friendly and the food was cooked beautifully for us with great condiments. Hidden away in a dark street, this is definitely a place to check out!
Love Michu! The food is always excellent. Fresh and an all round fun experience. Only qualm is that it always takes a really long time for them to come take your order, or come back for more drinks orders. I'd also love to see them expand the dessert menu from just Ice cream. The mango sherbert I was excited about but it was just mango sorbet on biscuit crumbs with raspberries. However the Korean bbq is superb, all the meat is always wonderful and I love all the sides. Wish they didn't bring the rice out before they even start cooking the meat though because it gets cold
Came across this place by accident and I am glad I did. Their lunch menu only has 6 or 7 items. We had the beef bulgogi, spicy chicken with cheese, and the seafood udon. We were given complementary side dishes of kimchi, pickled veggies, apple salad and chestnut jelly . Everything tasted really nice. Staff were very attentive and responsive to our needs.

Michu is my favourite local kbbq joint. I absolutely love the Kim chi Soup and pancakes. The pork belly flavors are very unique but great. Service is always good here!
Went to Michu last week for hubbys bday and was not disappointed! The servers were quick, attentive and friendly and knew their way around a bbq. We had one of the banquets which provided a really nice mix of proteins, rice, stew and condiments. All the meat was excellent quality and the sauces complimented perfectly. We're so lucky to have this place in the eastern suburbs! Thank you Michu!
It can be tough to find a good Korean bbq joint in the suburbs and michu does this well. A tad pricey but worth it as the food is fantastic. Starters were also good on top of good cuts of meat to bbq.
Ordered the Lucky 7 Pork, each pork belly with its own unique flavour. Very lovely, enjoyed the food, enjoyed my time there. Staff was friendly and cooked for us. Very filling.
Love this place....Easily one of our fav restaurants. Eaten here at least 20 times and always good.

Transported back to Korea in this beautiful vintage traditional Korean restaurant! You know it's good when most of its customers are Korean! Had the beef pork casserole and absolutely love it! Ban chan side dishes were unique as well. Service was attentive , friendly and so happy to dine with Goblin OST playing in the background ! Looking forward to come back for their bbq dinner :)

My first visit here. Nice food and good service.
The Scotch fillet that we've ordered was very tender and juicy. The waiter was quite busy cuz he was working there on his own. But he took care of us and grilled everything for us. He did a great job!
The pork belly is highly recommend as well.

I was pleasantly surprised about the experience here. The staff are friendly, pay attention and quick. They cook your food at a reasonable pace, not rushing your meal by loading the bbq with too much food.
The only thing i can complain about is that they don't use rock salt in their seaseme oil dipping sauce.
Very positive experience and i would recommend it!

Easily one of the best and well priced Korean BBQs around. We for the Angus set (for 3), but it was just 2 of us girls and the waiter said it's too much food. We got it anyway, and yes there was a lot of food.
The set comprised of banchan, a starter (we chose the oysters), a salad, 3 types of beef, a miso toufu soup, mushrooms and 3 pieces of corn and black rice.
The Michu oysters were interesting and consisted of 4 raw oysters topped with a sweet, tangy pink juice and shaved ice. Not my thing.
The beef was so tender, succulent and beefy. Kudos to the server for asking how we wanted it done before it was over cooked. The beef bulgogi which was served last was delicious too.
Salad was pretty generic but it tasted good. Had quite a few pieces of feta and olives.
The miso soup was average.
The grilled corn was placed after the bulgogi so it absorbed the juices of the bulgogi. I'm not a fan of corn on the cob, but this was divine! Sweet, salty and smokey. I'd go back for this.
I loved the banchan. Kimchi, pickled cabbage and coleslaw. All very tasty and very authentic tasting.
The three dipping sauces complimented the BBQ meats so perfectly. One was a chilli sauce, mild in heat but seasoned really well. The next was salt and pepper in sesame oil, lastly the soy sauce, well is soy sauce.
Was there a lot of food? Yes there was but we managed to finish everything! LOL gluttony is not cute but the food here is divine!!!
Price: $104 for the Angus set for 3 and tea.
Would I go back? Absolutely! I'd bring my mates too!
Delicious korean BBQ. We got the $70 set for 2ppl and it was delicious and we were very full at the end. The flavour was really nice from the kimchi to the bulgolgi. Not too heavily flavored and definately all fresh made. Best things is they copked and cut the BBQ for you so no need to work for it.
Cozy wooden interior with semi vintage ware house look of exposed bricks and ceiling pipes. The venue is relatively small but spacious. The staff are friendly, attentive and show the traditional welcoming Korean hospitality!
Michu have mastered the art of Korean BBQ at the table. This is a tradition of having a long meal and enjoying a conversation while watching your food sizzle to perfection before you. The ingredients ranging from vegetarian to seafood, poultry and red meats are extremely fresh and high quality. The accompanying kimchi are a perfect cleanse for the palate and street food style entrées such as the dumplings and the pancake are so fresh, light and tasty.

Wonderful food, lovely space that's a little bit quirky, great staff who take pride in the food. Good basic wine and beer list. It was full on a Thursday night so word must be travelling about this great local eatery. We will all be visiting again soon.
This is basically the best Korean restaurant you could find from eastern suburbs. Highly recommend spare ribs for meat lovers. The quality of meat is much better than average Korean restaurant; spicy cold noodle is recommended as most of Korean restaurants do not serve it with rare beef.
Service is great, side dishes are unique. Overall, this is one of the top listed Bbq place I would visit.

I'm not a big meat eater so the portion size of the $65 set menu was perfect for me and my partner. I will come back and try the kimchi pancake and other dishes on offer.
Had a nice little dinner here. Found the food good, unfortunately no good beer, the atmosphere is pretty good but the service was shocking. However I suspect it was the two waiters first day/week. They seemed keen but were useless but I'm not marking them down as I'm fairly sure they were new or else I'd give the place 2.5.

Soft Shell Crab (4/5) - Crispy soft shell crab served with salsa sauce.
Michu Soup (3.5/5) - a complementary dish comes with the set, ordinary soy bean soup with tofu and mushrooms.
Marinated Chicken (4.5/5) - got a sweet and tingly flavor, yet the meat is still tender and juicy.
A hidden gem in one of the small streets just off Blackburn road. I ordered the set for two which came with dumplings, soup Angus beef, pork belly and Michu chicken, portions are slightly smaller than the other Korean BBQ restaurants, but the meat quality is definitely superior to the others. Here I must mention that the pork belly here are not the ordinary thing slices you get at other restaurants where majority of meat is white(fat). The pork belly slices were around a inch thick, fat was distributed evenly over the meat which allowed the pork to be cooked perfectly.
Definitely a great place to enjoy Korean, but make sure you order a few more dishes if you're hungry as the portions were a little small, but like always you could keep eating the small dishes they serve for free until your full!
Great ambience. Lots of easy parking which is great. Couches may need some padding..both friends noted it was a bit hard to sit on after a while. 150 sufficient to feed 3 hungry carnivoress. Great quality meats. Will come again? Oh by far the best kimchi ive had.. kimchi is pretty important may i add lol. Friendly staff
Really great local Korean BBQ place which offers great food at a good price. The BBQ sets include an entree, meat, corn, stew and rice which is actually really good value for money. The side dishes are also really good with some of the most flavoursome kimchi I've ever had.
Staff are friendly and the place is well ventilated which is especially important for Korean BBQ places. Will definitely return!
What's the collective noun for a gathering of CARNIVORES? A CARNIVAL! Bad, bad joke. But this IS a great place for for meat lovers. Last night 3 Whippeteers visited "Michu" (one Whips 2nd visit in about a week) and we all enjoyed it immensely!

The waitresses cook it all for you on your table. The exhaust fans (pictured) are silent & efficient. You won't leave smelling like char coaled BBQ.
We enjoyed being there for a late dinner around 9pm. It is quiet and allows the staff to get the food cooked perfectly. They recommend booking for weekends. WE WANNA BOOK OUT THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!
Had dinner for two. Wait staff very attentive and polite. Ordered 65 set and extra mushroom assortment. Very tasty, tangy food. Shared some green tea ice cream which topped off the night perfectly.
Would rate 5, but door kept blowing open letting in cold gust. Ended up standing up to close it. Apart from that very nice cost place. Perfect for the Blackburn area
I organised a dinner for 20 people here. I contacted them a few weeks in advance and they were extremely helpful and even have us a discount as there were so many of us.
The good was delicious and I will definitely be returning in the near future.
There is everything to love about Korean BBQ. Michu is a play on "nice meeting you". This place is unpretentious and very funky. Meats are grilled over charcoal and incredibly succulent. The kimchi as a side is yum. We had steak and pork belly marinated 7 ways with rice and lettuce wraps. Definitely a go to place.
Cute and colourful setting. The food was beautiful and the service was great. Waitresses and waiters went the little extra step and asked how I liked my meat cooked. This restaurant was the first to offer this, when other korean restaurants cook the meat well-done. They look after you from start to finish. An underrated restaurant that deserves so much more.

Awesome Korean barbecue. The black angus scotch fillet and the Michu spicy chicken are to die for. The meat is so tender and tasty. The corn is a definite go-to dish as well. And all with delicious condiments as well. A really cosey atmosphere in the burbs. Will definitely become a local.
Been here a few times now and everyone I've taken has been thoroughly impressed. Service has improved since it first opened but the food has never missed the mark! Great place to go with friends and family!
I came here for my boyfriends 21st and it was such a great atmosphere.The staff cooking your selected meat on the grill located on your table made the experience so much better.
I also loved the interior styling - the cooper especially was such a great addition to the restaurant- it was so funky!
The food was very enjoyable especially the meat dishes, they were cooked perfectly! Definitely a cute little place to go if you live in the area for a little catch up with a bottle of red!
As a Korean, I can assure ppl reading this review that this place serves quality meat and charcoal with great service to please your palate. I had lucky7 set and marinated galbi with extra entree; marinated galbi was absolutely better than that I have tasted in some other BBQ places in cbd or even Korea!! :D I can't wait for the next visit.

Great food with Excellent services!i've lived in korea for 5 years couple of years ago and l have always loved the korean bbq.Last weekend, one of my friends took me to Michu and i was stunned by the charcoals they were using. I have been to few korean bbq restaurants in Melbourne but they did not use any of the charcoals that i was expecting (probably some of the korean bbq shops use the actual wooden charcoals,but never been to one)I could say this was the REAL charcoalsthe quality of the meat was excellent. the entrees were great as well.most of the entrees were not really Korean Korean, but seemed like they go very well with the food that they provide at the shop.Fresh oysters with blueberry granita was great to hae before having bbq.Waygyu Rib meat was one of my favorite among the set menu we have ordered.The soy bean stew(doenjangjjigae) reminded me of korea. The corn on the bbq grill was nice, a bit sweet for me but very nice.The shop was pretty cold but after the staff put in the charcoal it was warm. I kind of enjoyed the heat and cold wind at the same time. Felt like i was having bbq outside which we normally do with friends and families.I would definitely come back later with my whole family!
We like the service and atmosphere of this restaurant. We had angus set, which has two entree, scotch fillet, rib meat and bulgogi. The price was resonable and the quality of the food were so nice. Will be back again!
We came here with a party of 6 so we got 2 BBQs which worked well. The food was fresh and tasty and the set course was a great way to eat. The food is the hero at Michu
After the initial delay the service was fine, but this was not the highlight of the night.
Décor was very Korean (which suits) but they need to do something about the heating and make the front door close and stay closed. On the cold windy night we were there it kept blowing open. None of us took our coats off. Please fix this as this will greatly improve customer comfort.
Its great to finally have a truly local Korean BBQ joint! The meat was juicy and tender, and very nicely proportioned. I can absolutely recommend the Lucky 7 Pork Set for 2! The staff were lovely and prompt. Can't wait to go back!

Korean BBQ in Blackburn!. Yep, a Korean BBQ right here in Blackburn. Having seen Michu open recently, my partner and I decided to try it last Friday.A normal Friday night out would have been in the city, but we love to go local as well, particularly as this happens to be within walking distance of home. I'll have to admit I hadn't had Korean BBQ since visiting Seoul a few years back and I was looking forward to giving it a go. It's licensed and BYO (small charge for corkage, which was fine with us). I wasn't sure what to expect given a couple of the other reviews and I was keen to relive my Seoul experiences. Sitting down, it had a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. I got stuck into the accompanying small dishes already on the table (I think they're called Banchan and were very tasty), We ordered the $65 set menu (that was $65 for 2)- which included dumplings (of our choice), a Kimchi Stew, and BBQ Pork Belly, BBQ Steak, Rice and Corn, The food? The flavours were fantastic, dumplings were a standout, as was the flavour combination in the Kimchi stew...the BBQ'd pieces of steak didn't last long either! Yuml. All in all a delicious meal - which would have cost far more in the city.....we'll be back!

Best Korean BBQ in this local area. I've been a long time avid lover of Korean BBQ, having being a veteran of the food over the past few years and after visiting some of Seoul's renowned BBQ places. I am quite impressed with this Blackburn gem and will definitely be back. I had none of this watered down soup unlike the negative commenter below, instead, mine was rather rich and dense. None of my pieces of meat were 'thin'. In fact, Michu supplies meat which has a favourable meat to fat ratio, much unlike Changgo, one of my favourite Melbourne Korean BBQ's which has now started to offer fattier pork with hardly any meat content. So yes, although it's slightly more expensive than other joints, you get what you pay for. And for $33 dollars for 3 types of pork, a bowl of rice, and kimchi stew - it's just a bit above average. Shout out to the amazing service we had, our waiter was incredibly attentive, always topping up our water and free side dishes (banchan - their seaweed one is to die for!) with a smile!
