Has enough options for vegetarians. Staff is friendly and service was good. Good for a family dinner. Price also not too bad compared to other restaurants aroud that area.
Was extremely happy with the quick service provided. Held a birthday dinner and the staff made sure everything was going to plan. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend
Pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Pasta was authentic salad was fresh. Enjoyed it so much I came back 2 days later. III be back!
Excellent pizzas and great value for eat-in or takeaway! The “The Lot” pizza is a go-to for me and have been for many years now - it’s packed generously with toppings and is amazing. Thanks De Fazio’s! 😋
One of our favorite Italian restaurant in Melbourne.
Atmosphere was nice and warm. Everyone on the table enjoyed the dinner. Veal was a little bit tough. Marinara is all time favourite! Tables were too close to each other. Service is the 5 star! Waitress wearing red bandana is the best waitress in Victoria!!
Service is a bit slow and the food takes a long time to come but maybe that's a good thing. The end result is an enjoyable, satisfying meal.
The Parma, pizza and pasta all tastes delicious and good portions. You can tell the pasta is hand made, the pizza is wood fired and tasty, and all the ingredients they use are fresh.
A real good old fashioned italian restaurant.
Well priced wine and food. We had a garlic focaccia (they were out of regular garlic bread) and arancini balls for the entree. They were both delicious.
We also had pasta dishes for our main, which were delicious. The service could have been a little bit faster, we waited a good 10 minutes before I had to wave and get someone to take our drinks order, but all in all it was a good night. Will definitely be back for more of that delicious pasta
On a tiramisu hunt and this place came up as a possibility to try out. I've seen it for years and it's never hit my radar because it's one of those restaurants that have looked the same for years. When we got there, the carpeted floors and poor ventilation was initially making me regret my decision. It also clearly attracts an older demographic, but has a steady flow of takeaway pizzas on a Friday night.
Tonight we had bruschetta, marinara risotto, lasagne, and pumpkin agnolotti for dinner. All were very generous servings and well priced. I had read in previous reviews that lasagne was delicious and it's true. So yum. We also had the sticky date and tiramisu. For $9.50 these desserts are great value. The sticky date was literally swimming in sauce - probably a bit too much. My verdict of the tiramisu is that it's one of the better ones. Nice and creamy, good flavour and not too soggy. It's one of the few places that do tiramisu well.
We all rolled out of there in our food comas. I would come back again. The staff were lovely and as a whole it's a relaxing enjoyable night.
Went with my husband for a early Friday night dinner. They started dinner from 5 pm ,so luckily we enjoyed a quiet , romantic( at the same time the waitress light up the candle light) Pizza and pasta dinner . I saw the special dessert menu on wall the moment I walked in , but didn't order cause I though I wouldn't be able to have the dessert after the main . Turned out the main dish wasn't very big ( oh but it was delicious!) so we shared a pistachio cream brûlée.
Do ORDER the cream brûlée! It was heavenly good ! The creamy reach cream brûlée with yummy vanilla ice cream , it was the beautiful ending for our dinner .
The restaurant looked ordinary from the outside but it's another things when you walked in , it's like I was in somewhere in Europe in a minute.
I had the salmon fettuccine, my husband had the seafood marinara pizza . Love my fettuccine, I wonder they are using the freshly made fettuccine cause it tasted so fresh . My husband says the pizza is good too. The toilet is clean(sorry lol ) , staffs are friendly, nothing to complain.
I think they really serve good dessert, Do order the dessert if you still have room for dessert after the main . :p
Great atmosphere, great food, good service. Ordered pizza and all the ingredients were fresh and pasta was good also. If you have the entertainment book there is a voucher. Will be back for sure!
Called up to make a booking for 730 pm but given the busy time were booked for 8 pm. Restaurant was full as we reached. Were asked to be seated for 10 mts in anticipation a table would be available. The lady who attended was most gracious to look after us. She offered us first round of drinks on the house!! Ambience is cool and service is A class. We were served by 3 people and all of them were A class. Drinks were average. Food was fabulous. We tried a variety of dishes....risotto, pasta , pizza , foccacia and every dish was awesome. Serve size is fairly big. Desserts are good too. Very much recommend this italian joint.

They're not all that common anymore (at least not in our neck of the woods), so you mightn't know what an “old school, Aussie-style Italian food“ restaurant is like! Can they compete with the new breed of Italian pizzerias and restaurants popping up all over Melbourne? ↓↓ Click the link below to find out what we think! ↓↓
Great little restaurant- fabulous vibe & great food! Majority of us ordered pizzas, they were full with flavour and were great sizes. They had the perfect amount of toppings and sauces- they were delicious. The lasagne was so so yum- one of the best I've had. Very impressed !
Excellent food and friendly staff, has the atmosphere of a family owned cozy restaurant, the risotto tastes literally like "food from heaven". Recommended by a friend, thrilled to discover a local descent Italian eatery! Bravo!!
Excellent and delicious food. Service was fast and very friendly. The Arancini balls as an entree were delicious. It was a busy restaurant for a rainy Wednesday night.
lovely dinner venue and family friendly ... service is efficient and friendly ... authentic simple Italian food ... nice desserts too ... we've been here a few times and we've never been disappointed
We had a lovely family meal. Service was great. Food excellent. We had an array of different food, including pizza, agnolotti pasta, parmigiana and veal. A few mixed reviews on internet but you should give it a try, its a lovely local restaurant and filled up nicely during the evening with a great atmosphere.
Nice restaurant, good food. I've driven past this place for years and never tried it. So, thanks to the Entertainment book, decided to give it a try. It was quite busy on the weeknight we attended, but we were seated and given water very quickly. Our order was taken in reasonable time and our meals arrived quite quickly for the amount of people dining. The food was delicious, no complaints at all. We had spaghetti marinara and a steak :)
Good food. I've been going to this place for years and I do not agree with some of the negative comments here. It's reasonably priced and the food is actually decent.
Fabulous. What a gem to have in Blackburn. Last night my fish dish was superb. Everyone was impressed with their food and the desserts were amazing
Lovely place for the family
I am happy with the great service and food provided. I went there with my friends at 7pm, the service is great. My friends and I have ordered spaghetti marinara and their special of the week. My friends and I are totally happy with the food. As We know this is an Italian restaurant and their head chef is an Asian. Before heading to the restaurant, I do have some doubt about it, and after since few of my friends highly recommended it, I wish to give it a try. Out of my expectations! It's perfectly good! And I believe that good food comes to people who wait.
Great service. Am unsure why this place has any bad reviews - every staff member we encountered was efficient and friendly. Food was low cost, came out quick and met expectations. I had the amatriciana pasta and my partner had one of the pizzas. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting affordable, nice Italian food.
Pleasantly surprised. We LOVED the food here. It was incredible. Flavorsome, visually appealing. Just so yum. Will return again because the flavours in the meals were something both my partner and I had never tasted before. Large servings which both my partner and I left full and satisfied. Staff genuine and friendly.
Overall experience was enjoyable and will return. Excited to try other menu items. We ate veal and it was very soft and yummy.
Highly recommend to others :)
My partner and I get take away every Friday from De Fazio's. It is amazing and the staff are always friendly. I could not fault one thing about this place, it is perfect!
19/10/16 If the Roasted Pumpkin Soup is on the menu - even if you think you've 'tried them all', this version is well worth a try - perhaps, as it's an Italian place it should be zucca la minestra? No matter the name, this is one of the best versions of an old fave I have ever tried.

7/9/16 Service is always friendly here, and, even if you have a dining partner ordering off menu, they'll help you out if they can (carbonara anyone?). There's a certainly 'family' atmosphere here where you think many of the diners know each other, it's quaint and appealing.
Branching from the usual suspects for my family, we selected the Bruschetta from the Primi Piatti selection. Four crusty house-made chunks of good bread, toasted just right and topped with a wonderfully fresh mixture of smoked salmon, basil, tomato and a balsamic reduction. It was supposed to be drizzled with olive oil, but I think the chef forgot, as while the salad was lovely, it was all a bit dry - the olive oil would have set it off beautifully. Back to our more usual suspects the Garlic Focaccia is wonderfully cheesy and garlicky as you'd hope.
Our selection of mains included a Chicken Pizza, generously topped with plenty of chicken and pineapple which those who enjoy such toppings tucked into. Also Spaghetti Marinara, Gamberoni All' Aglio, and the aformention off menu item - Spaghetti Carbonara. Our carbonara-lover enjoyed his pasta very much, it looked wonderful, creamy and bacony - purists may look away, but I think there's room for both styles. Miss enjoyed her Marinara, it had a generous selection of seafood. My Gamberoni had the same bouncy-fresh prawns - huge specimens, and a wonderful light sauce - I would have liked a bit more sauce in fact.
Kids had the Gelati Pyramid (blackboard menu) and I might have indulged in the Pistachio Creme Brulee. Pyramids come with a raspberry sauce, but didn't last long! The brulee has the perfect 'crack' when you break through the quintessential barely-bitter sugar 'lid'. I like my custard softer-set than the one here, but that's just me, the flavour is lovely.
Great little local pizzeria and restaurant.

Home made gnocchi a stand out. If there is gnocchi on the specials board, get it, as it's going to be delicious! The family enjoy the pizzas from here, bases are crispy, and not too thin or thick, toppings are generous. Steak is always perfectly cooked, and the vegetable sides are plain, but not overcoooked. One lady who sometimes answers the phone can appear to be a little 'short', but otherwise the staff are very friendly, particularly the pizza guy at the front and the main chef at the back.
Generous servings!. Service wasn't great (and when you have an open kitchen you should really make sure your chef's look busy and happy!) but the food was pretty good, we all (6 of us) had pasta and were all happy with our meals - fresh ingredients and not stingy with the good stuff......I'd go back - for the food not the service
coffee was great, strong and not too hot
Currently licking my lips..... Whilst eating a yummy takeaway pizza. Can't vouch for dine in service, nor pasta, but pizza base is nowhere near too thin. Ruler says 1cm (and that's because i've honestly just measured it). Toppings are plentiful and flavourful. I rate this place highly. Not sure where previous reviewers have been eating.
Great service and food!. I love the food here it's reasonably priced and very yummy. I recently had a friend's birthday here and there was no issue booking a group of 20. No splitting of bills but it was fantastic service considering there were so many of us. They even set up the cake with candles and sparklers! Very friendly staff and a great experience.
Hmmm!. Food was nice, but we felt rushed out of there tonight at about 10.15pm when the advertised closing time is 11.00pm on the door. The kitchen closed, some lights were turned off. It was made very obvious it was time to leave, rude given 3 tables of customers were still there!
Good pizza, friendly staff. Make sure you book.
Nice environment. Warm and welcoming environment. Very enjoy Simon dish with coffee beans, So tasty. Friendly staff.
Above Average Pizza and nice Penne. Two thumbs up!. Very nice pizza, particularly the Mexicano, good toppings, quality ingredients and a nice base. The penne was good too, tasty and cooked just right. The dessert, a cream brulee was only average and wouldn't order it again, it wasn't their best work. But, all in all, good service, prices and very good pizza. Will be back.
Great little restaurant with fantastic food. A gem in the suburbs.
Excellent take-away pizzas. Best in Blackburn! A la carte restaurant is a simple traditional family Italian restaurant. Menu is extensive and while the food won't wow, you'll not be disspointed!
Regular haunt for locals both young and older. I was told that the head chef has been part of the establishment for over 15 years and draws his own set of regulars who keep coming back for his signature dishes. Highly recommend the pastas and mains and especially the delicious homemade sourdough bread that accompanies the meal. Can't speak highly enough of the bread! The new owners are very pleasant as well and are quite generous and hospitable in my experience. Would definitely highly recommend the place.
Great food and friendly and attentive staff. Portions are generous so don't overorder. Can get noisy when a lot of patrons are there. Prices are very reasonable and food quality is excellent. Overall, a very satisfying experience.
