Absolutely amazing cakes and service! Love everything in this shop. So delightful and delicious!
We are recent devotees of Bonjour de France. Delicious hot and cold treats. We also really appreciate their generous nature. Thank you for your donation to Blackburn Pre School mother's night.
This French bakery has been here for many years. While it is not as good as it was with the original French lady twenty years ago their eclairs, mille fils and lemon tarts are delicious always fresh cream all the patisserie are good. Have never tried the coffee. Staff are friendly.
Had their lemon tart there and it was fabulous. Lemon curd on top, beautiful pastry, not too sweet ... it was my kind of dessert.
I haven’t tried anything else in there though I did hear that the eclairs are da bomb and it’s definitely a local favourite.

On main street in Blackburn there's a french cafe I've always wanted to stop by, though never have. And now I recall why: I don't feel comfortable shopping at places where you'll find out how much it is at the checkout. These are all the prices they have, savory items only. . There's a few tables, though I love getting takeaway and sitting by the lake (with company, never alone, secluded places aren't safe, also magpies) or gazebo (which is now gone, and so are all the trees...). Realistically it's a dash to the trains, and eating while commuting.
My friend’s shop, so I guess I’m a little biased. But what the hell, it’s a great bakery.
Absolutely gorgeous sweets! Could never resist a cream puff. So good! Best cream I’ve ever tasted!
Called into Bonjour De France on my WFH day as needed something sweet in the house. They had a range of delectables and it was hard to choose from. I ended up choosing the sour cherry tart which was perfectly subtle in sweet while still delivering on the sour cherry flavour. The custard layer underneath was thick and well formed and the pastry delightful. Kelisi sampled some but made me eat the remainder as she said “it was so good that if she had another bite she might scoff the lot”.
They also do hot pies and quiches and well decorated cakes 🍰
Friendly staff and prompt service.
Oh là là....
This review for coffee today.
Ordered: Latte. OK nothing memorable.
Service: Lovely. Cheerful. (Not very French Lol).
For the Dog: Fresh water was gratefully gulped down.
What we do remember is coming here numerous times over the last 20 years or more. The baked items are the main attraction. Always enjoyed the vegetable flan.
Cozy Blackburn village cafe. Pretty spacious. Good service. Menu is average but preparation is to the mark. Try chicken pie, baquette and quiches. Good!
New local bakery discovered! Very happy with the their coffee, vanilla slice, cherry danish and chocolate eclair, yummy and not too sweet, the cream just melt in your mouth without being too rich or full. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. Ordered too much though;)
Had delicious patties and pies with coffee. Good place. Chicken spinach pie was awesome. The best part was the very hot and tasty cappuccino.
I went past the Bonjour de France cafe the other morning while waiting for Dalek to be finished at his grooming session, and with a pang of aw-that-makes-me-remember-I'm-missing-my-sibling, popped in for a coffee and a late breakfast. Enter the neenish tart quandry, a mini quiche and a hot mocha.
The best (plain) croissants this side of France. Buttery, crispy on the bottom, fluffy inside. The Escargot is also a favourite. Tres delicieuse!
Neighborhood Gem! Among the.... Neighborhood Gem!
Among the few good parts of renting in Melbourne is finding the awesome little places around. Great pies, croissants, quiches and sweets. I'll miss BDF when we move!
Holy crap, the chocolate eclairs with fresh cream inside are one of the best bakery treats I have eaten ever. Delicious.
If you only do 2 things before you die make sure it's buying a vanilla slice cake and a croissant from Bonjour De France. Amazing
I've been visiting for 12 years on a regular basis, everything in the shop is delicious. Try the roast pork roll available on weekdays, it's a taste sensation. The meat pies and quiches are always fantastic too.
Yummy cakes. I love the cakes and the veg flan is so yummy try the danishes or the chocolate ganache tart with cherries in the middle so yummy, service however is not the best! they use coffex coffee .
Fresh French classics, non alcohol mousse & eclair amazing. I arrived late 3pm so no fish bread options left. I will come back to try. Coffee ok.
Part of the fabric of Blackburn, this little patisserie has been here seemingly forever! Friendly staff & tasty treats. 👍
Best little bakery for french baked goods in the eastern suburbs. Highly recommend their chocolates ganache tarts with sour cherries, mille fueille and langues de chat biscuits. They've also started doing Opera Cake for pre-order.
We are regular customers and especially love the genuine Black Forest cake with Kirschwasser which is also available gluten free, an extra bonus. Delicious! For special occasions we have also ordered the French Buche de Noel plus an almond based birthday cake with a cricket theme for a special birthday. Just a bit of European flair and a delicious selection every time.
Extremely nice lady that gave us free tart. Delicious sausage rolls and exceptional milkshakes. I like the rich flavour of the chocolate flavour one.
Good service and Recommended.

Very nice café in blackburn. Their éclairs and choux pastries are great. They make everything : pies, soup, individual pastries and cakes.
