Review Hogs Breath @ Blacktown - Blacktown

Went out with workmates to hogs breath.. very honestly, not a lot going for this place. We had attentive staff but we had barely finished the plate when they had taken it away with our glasses sometimes full of drink. Food wise, I had the steak burger that was extremely well done and dry. Talking to the waitress and this is apparently the norm and I was expected to know to ask for something different. The saving grace here was that she offered and went off and cooked me another steak to put into my burger. I wish I had looked at the whole burger because I had a rubbery egg too that was also dry and flaky. My colleagues steak was cooked over their asking preferences but did say they still enjoyed their meal. Curly fries were a fun novelty.

Service is really good and food is what you would expect for the price - although I feel like they could add a but more salt. It's rare for me to reach for salt on the table but needed it for just about everything on my plate so they lost a star. Place was clean and turn around pretty quick on a weeknight.

Hog'sbreath steak place 4th floor blacktown... A full 100% disappointment. When ordered for a steak on full value, a very small piece of steak with only one choice of side dish, rest u hv to pay extra. The steak.. the smallest possible, taste average and the worst thing was the service quality. A youngish girl wearing glasses without any sign of smile or humbleness she took our order, repeating in a loud voice with no help or advise about menu. The bill we paid was more than $50 and the disappointment was worth $1000. I guess, time long gone when the feeling of going to these type of places use to be guarantee of soul satisfying happiness. Never again. I would rather go to Mcdonald and ask for a nice meal just for $11 or so.

It was overall a terrible experience for me, I had to wait for over 30 minutes for the food to come while i noticed a family who came 10 minutes after me all received there food while I had to wait. When the brisket burger arrived it was literally half the size of the plate and I had also specifically orded Curly Fries but they just gave me standard cut fries and never notified me of anything untill I asked them about it which they said that there curly fries were "not the best choice right now" and standard fries were the best option.

Conveniently located in Blacktown Westpoint Shopping Centre and ample parking. Nice deco and great customer service. Food met our expectation. The atmosphere is great. However with the new menu being rolled out, we are unlikely to be back after 15 years of loyal Hogs Breath customers. It is a disgrace to make customers paying an extra $5 for salad ($6 if you want Caesar Salad) to go with the steak when it is previously free.

I went to Hogs Breath Blacktown Friday night my son & daughter in law as well as their 2 little ones aged 4 & 1. The food & service was fantastic. Price was value for money. Hats of to the waitresses. It's not easy keeping people happy particularly with little ones but the waitress we had was great. Would recommend for sure.

Lunch on Saturday was busy but was seated not long after we arrived. Only 15 mins after we ordered the main it all arrived without a hitch. The food was superb...i had baramundi with prawns they were perfectly cooked. Both my wife & son had grilled chicken which they said was delicious. Even when the bill was being paid, the waitress let us pay part cash/card even though they normally don't allow which was nice. But lost a star bc of the price...its becoming too expensive Mr Hogs. This might drive your custom away if somethings not done about it, & soon. $108 for 2 adults & 1 child? Tsk, tsk, hogs breath, tsk tsk.

Staff here were iffy and very weird about me being in a wheelchair. Service was quick. My food was actually really good and it's great to have vegan options but my family's food wasn't anything amazing but I don't think I'd be back purely because of how strange they acted with me being in a wheelchair.

Food is decent - have only had the $10 lunch specials which is pretty good value considering it’s a restaurant and you get served. Chips are usually cold which isn’t great and it can take a while even when the place is mostly empty - but still a decent lunch option during the week for sure. Staff are always lovely and attentive which is a bonus.

Food is okay but i feel its bit overpriced esp. as u have to pay extra for gravy, sauce etc. Besides i think the food tastes good.
The only reason i had to rate 2 stars is because of my experience from the recent visit to this place. Its quite cold these days and i dnt think it would have been that necessary to put the temperature this cold. Food went all cold in minutes. We had to sit where the staff lead us to. I felt really cold on that particular seating(felt a strong gush of air from the aircon,so we moved to another seat (wasnt reserved, somebody else came and got seated there later) and the staff was like we arent allowed to change seat on the other side(it was on the other side) and when we complained that it was really cold so we moved the seat, the guy was really annoying. He was pointing towards the airvent and he said that this new seating actually has airvent much nearer to us so it would be much colder(but to be honest it was less colder and had less gush of air than the other table). He was smirking and mockingly said that its much colder at this new seating. Maybe he needs to know his workplace more than we do coz it really felt less colder at this new seating. The way he said it was like he was trying to prove that he is right and we dont know a thing. It really just put me off,the whole dining experience went bitter just because of his attitude.I ddnt enjoy the dinner at all. I guess everyone can get my feeling,u like the food but when u are treated badly by some staff u dnt really enjoy the food though its good. I hope they treat their customer well, and not treat us like we are some bunch of fools.

Lol I thought this place was called "hog's breath cafe" but oh well
Went with 7 other People. We all got steaks and had different cooks for it and everyone's feedback was that is was dry.
I got the mushroom steak medium rare with curly fries, Caesar salad and mushroom sauce
The mushrooms we nice and juicy and the salad tasted really good even though I'm really not a fan of healthy food ahhaha
Service was pretty good I guess

Have been here several times for lunch with family. Located 'On Four' at Westpoint Blacktown, they have large seating area. I've tried their prime ribs, pork ribs, garlic prawns and hog tail fries of course (my favourite!). Portions are generous and price is ok. All food tastes good but not amazing.

The food was very tasty and well presented! So were the drinks. The ambiance is very laid back and not like a professional restaurant, just somewhere to have fun ^^ the service was also quite quick and very friendly!

I'm a regular here . Even got Vip card and i get 25% off from my main dish . Once I got well done steak when i was asking for a medium rare but they are happy to re-make new one so which is good. If you don't like your steak ask them to fix it and they will do it happily for you. It's better for both you and restaurant rather than crying over about it.

I had a good experience coming to hogs breath on saturday night. the staff were really nice, and welcoming. my favourite part would have to be the dessert, i loved the profiteroles, they were absolutely amazing. will be back here for some more!!

The staff and service here is definitely facilitating and nice. Our orders were wrong and all over the place; but they fixed it up without hesitation. Kinda slow service and overcooked food though.

Was Nice. I liked my experience and food when I went.
Ordered steak and my bf ordered chicken.
The steak was cooked right and the chips and sides were delicious. I admit I wish the portions were bigger because we paid a little above average for the price of our plates.
The interior design is very creative and the atmosphere produced by it reminds me of a havana resort or something with the wooden tables and service stand.
The service is friendly and there are lots of waiters walking around.
I would come back again as long as I don't have to pay. Haha

Wouldn't go back again.. $40 plate of steak and ribs with 2 mediocre sides of salad and fries. Asked for steak to be cooked medium rare, came out looking just right (nice and pink) but was dry and chewy. I've had juicier, more tender steaks done consistently for $10.

The avocado and battered mushroom salad (main) was also a sad sight compared to other Hogs Breaths we've been to and ordered the same thing. Almost zero dressing too.

Dishes took forever to come out as well. Service was friendly but that's about where the positives end. Watched other tables wait for unreasonably long times for their entrees to come out (two men were sitting there for at least 15 minutes after ordering, before their basic garlic bread even came out... how long does garlic bread take to make??)

Definitely wouldn't go back. Overpriced and unimpressive. Should've just paid a bit more to go to a proper steak house :/

Where did my previous review go?. ITs been a while but ive been here twice its not up to the standards of the other Hog Breath's around in terms of service (food takes a while to come out) and taste and portion size. Im not sure but i felt like i paid a lot for so little

Great Value $9.90 Lunch!. I was impressed on my return to work in the New Year to find that Hog's Breath are still running their $9.90 Lunches during January. For lunch under $10 their burgers and wraps are definitely tastier than most low cost lunches.

SMOKED BBQ BEEF WRAP
Generous with the grilled beef and the BBQ sauce sweet was smoky and delicious. While it could’ve done with some tomatoes along with the lettuce, the grilled onions do make it. By having it in a wrap, the lower bread content allows the other flavours to shine through. The curly fries are by far a signature favourite, so it’s good to see a serving of these on the side. The burger in the photo is a BLT Burger, had by my dining companion, who agreed it was great value at only $9.90.

The atmosphere is always fun at Hog’s Breath Cafe and the service at the Blacktown venue was pleasant and swift - meals arrived within 5 to 10 minutes, so all in all a great value lunch experience!

Can't get the steak right!. I have ordered steak on 2 occasions at this Hog's Breath Cafe. Both times the steak was cooked incorrectly. The steak is around $28 so not cheap. One would think they would get it right. When they did finally cook it medium to well done which is what I asked for...........it was absolutely delicious.
