Review El Jannah - Blacktown

Finger licking good! Good customer service, sub 5 min wait times. Portion size looks small but quite filling!

Have been visiting this place for over a decade and they never disappoint. Used to be famous for their charcoal chicken and garlic sauce. They have since broadened their menu to include burgers and a range of other meals. Great food and value. Highly recommend.

Better to go to a local charcoal chicken shop Chicken Heaven! You only get 1 of these tiny sauce to eat with your half chicken, disgrace! The sauce is the best part. You used to get bigger servings of sauce.

We used to come here often to get a whole chicken takeaway and eat it with our own pickles and bread as that was the best value. The quality here is not always consistent. Sometimes the chicken is too dry, sometimes too sour, sometimes too burnt. Parking is also hard to find and it's always confusing who is waiting in line and who is waiting to pick up their order as there are so many people standing around. We have since found another place for charcoal chicken.

This is a really nice Lebanese chicken restaurant, the food is tasty and fantastic value. The layout of this store is a little bit disjointed, there's no clearly defined waiting and pickup area so most people walk into the store and they end up lining up the doorway making it difficult if you're trying to social distance.

Absolutely delicious food. KFC is forgettable once you try their fried wings recipe. So thick, tender and meaty😋😋 very neat and clean place to dine in and professional customer service with a great a smile and also very much so organised as well. đŸ‘ŒđŸŒHurry up guys please open up in Melbourne also đŸ€©đŸ€© many of us waiting eagerly to taste your recipes on weekly basis. đŸ„łđŸ„łđŸ„ł

El Jannah always has great chicken. My only criticism is that it needs to cater for dining-in a bit more than it currently does. Effectively, you're eating take away at a table, which feels a bit like a food court.

Been a loyal fan since few years...but lately quality of food has dropped dramatically...tried crispy chicken burger, seems like been cooked and put away for long before serving...our favourite charcoal chicken also was over cooked from outside and dry from inside...they need to bring the excellent quality back.

You have a mole. Deliberately messed up my order. Despite large screen order display and hearing/seeing the large size confirmed at point of sale (only one other couple in store) they gave me medium instead of large hummus. I ordered large because my 4yr and 3yr olds love hummus. My hands were full when I ordered, 8mth old in one hand, umbrella in the other. So they messed up my order since I probably wouldn’t check? It’s low. My family up till now ate there regularly, once a week at least, but I don’t usually pick up. Maybe they didn’t like the look of me. Don’t know why they want to drive paying customers away, there was next to no-one there. Usually they are great. In the past we’ve had minor mistakes made, but this one was clearly deliberate.

Located just across Westpoint Blacktown (walking distance from Blacktown station), this venue is busy with customers, most of the times.
Even though the line up is long, service is always quick and efficient. I normally buy the charcoal chicken for takeaway. Yet to dine there.
Their charcoal chicken is delicious. Juicy and flavoursome. The garlic sauce is yum too even though not garlicky enough for me.
If you wanna visit El Jannah Blacktown, the easier place to park is inside Westpoint by the way, as finding parking next to the shop is very difficult if not impossible.

Pretty sure my friends and family only come visit so that they have an excuse to come here for BBQ Chicken. Whilst I'm not a huge fan of BBQ chicken per se .. this place does a pretty decent version. The fact that it is always packed is a pretty good sign. Heaps of seating, fast service, reasonable pricing, and plenty of food for the price. Appears to be open every day of the year - so if you're hungry, check it out.

This place has never disappointed!! Have been coming here for years for eat in and take out and they always make the perfect lunch, dinner or snack! Love how local it is. Chicken is always tender and juicy and the garlic sauce is one of a kind. The pickles are also full of flavour. Ordered regular chips and a fresh chicken roll with chilli sauce for take away. I usually always go for the chilli chicken burger which is my favourite but this is my first time trying the chicken roll (I just had to add sauce) and I’m impressed! The chicken roll is packed with ingredients and they are very generous with sauce and fillings. Ingredients are of quality and it’s great value for money. The chips are always seasoned and cooked nicely. Super filling and guaranteed to kill your hunger or any savoury cravings. All the hype you hear about El Jannah is definitely lived up to. Would recommend :)

This is the place my friends took me for a first meal in NSW. It's a nice spot behind the Westpoint shopping mall, and the staff is pretty good as well.
I was told that they're basically known for their chicken roll, grilled chicken and the store made garlic sauce. I got the tawouk roll and 1/2 chicken while my friends got the chicken roll. The chicken roll is slightly bigger in size compared to the other, and both were heavenly, and most importantly... Healthy.
The generous serving of garlic sauce with the 1/2 chicken is one to die for, as it acts as a perfect dip for the poultry.
I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quick but hearty meal which is ideal even on the go.

We ordered chicken burger, 1/4 of chicken and bread, and regular fries. It's cheap and came in a lot of portion. The garlic sauce was good and as strong as many people said (even though it's a lil bit too strong for my preference). The chicken itself was delicious, so tender, so juicy, with the right season all over the meat. The fries was a lil bit too salty for me while my friend said it's okay. My friend also said that the chicken burger was delicious. The service was good.

Chicken cooked to perfection. Hummus tastes so good. Their dips and sauces are very flavorful. Lebanese food is really good. Value for money 4/5. Wish they have more dip lol

Amazing is an understatement. Amazing charcoal chicken. Perfectly cooked. The hummus and garlic sauce are just fabulous. Authentic Lebanese food. Highly recommend trying out this place.

No body does grilled chicken and garlic sauce better than El Jannah. This place is popular with the locals. The pickles providing the perfect offset to the chicken. However I would prefer my chicken with more flavouring.

This place was super busy at 11pm on a Friday, but it was worth waiting for. Chicken was a little too salty, but the Garlic Sauce was to die for!Would definitely recommend after a big night out.

I'm so glad that there is an outpost of el Jannah in Blacktown.

The food here is delicious but that garlic sauce is next level! I could bathe in it! Love my garlic sauce and fries.

The ej's burgers are really good even the beef ones!
My go-to charcoal chicken joint in Sydney. Relatively cheap meal deals with a range of combos to choose from. What makes me come back to this joint is not their chicken, but their garlic sauce. I love how I can dip anything in eat and it would just pair up perfectly. Prompt service with a number system for takeaway option. I do feel sometimes that the staff who are taking our orders in an impatient manner leaving me no time to decide what I want. Better know what to order before standing in the cue. They recently renovated their outdoor area so you can sit outside without fear of getting wet from the rain.

Great day out at El Jannah's Blacktown. For a Sunday lunch it was incredibly busy. Lines out the door, no seating available. I find this very comparable to our local Frangos but better quality.

I don't go much for the chicken at El Jannah but my partner does so we ordered a half chicken dine in which is served with garlic sauce, pickles, and Lebanese bread. We also ordered a side of chips and a Tawouk roll, which is chicken on Lebanese bread, covered in coleslaw and garlic sauce with hot chips inside the roll.

The Tawouk roll isn't something we'd usually go for but it was delicious. It was incredibly messy and you couldn't leave without drips all down you but it was worth it. The combination of sauces meant the chicken wasn't dry and the addition of the hot chips inside the roll was a good thing. I was expecting an actual roll but we definitely were not disappointed.

The El Jannah half chicken combo was also enjoyed. The chips and the pickles go incredibly well with the garlic sauce and the half chicken was the perfect size for one person (at around 3-4 pieces of chicken).

Overall a good experience. I recommend trying something different if you visit because you won't be disappointed. We'll be back next time we're in the area looking for lunch!

I'm an El Jannah faithful, still believe it's the best charcoal chicken in Sydney. And nothing beats their garlic sauce. Although I would recommend going on a date for a day or two after haha that stuff is potent! The chips are also perfect and coated in chicken salt. A nice easy meal that packs the flavour!

After a tiring evening badminton game, me and some of the members of our team decided to have dinner here at El Jannah. This Lebanese restaurant serves one of the most delectable and delicious roasted chicken here in Sydney. I believe this is a good place to go to if you're keen on roasted chicken which comes with a special garlic mayo sauce.

Quite nice and flavoursome!
They're garlic sauce is the best! I drown everything in it!
Though their falafel isn't quite right. But dry on the inside too.

Quarter chicken breast and chips, garlic sauce and pickles. Chicken was a little dry, but, overall very delicious. The spices and vinegar on the chicken is proportionally perfect, although I have had it at times when the vinegar can be overpowering. Overall, an enjoyable and quick place to eat in the local Blacktown area.

Love love love their Chilli Chicken Burgers and their garlic dip. Everything is on point with the charcoal chicken, fries and platters. Except wouldn't recommend the beef and chefs traditional burger.
Rinaldo Hartanto
Chicken here has amazing texture but sometimes gets too salty. Chips are always too salty for my preference as well. Garlic sauce is ridiculously good though, I've been to El Jannah just to get their garlic sauce for take away. I used it for dip later and it was amazing. The service here is also efficient and quick. Even you're on a queue food's got served relatively quick. Definitely come here if you're craving serious chicken and garlic action.

I came in right before 10:00am and food was ready in a few short minutes of opening their doors, very impressed. The charcoal chicken and chips were freshly made and on point. Chicken was tender and flavoursome and chips were crispy and well seasoned! Recommend this place highly đŸ‘ŒđŸœ!

Absolutely fantastic dinner at El Jannah! It was a busy Friday night with food markets at Blacktown but I wanted my friend to try El Jannah for the first time. We both ordered the El Jannah burger and a bowl of chips to serve. Despite being busy, we only waited between 5-10mins for our food to come out. I have had this burger many times from Granville and it has been fantastic however I think, this was the best I have ever had. The bun has changed which I think has contributed to the great taste. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection and the garlic sauce was amazing! The chips were also absolutely delicious and a very generous serving for $5 a bowl. I would definitely recommend El Jannah to everyone.

The newly opened Blacktown branch of El Jannah seems to be carrying on the goodwill generated by the Granville and Punchbowl branches. However, I did find the grilled chicken, garlic sauce and the pickles to be a tad on the higher side on salt. There are ample tables to sit and eat, however, take out seems to be the most preferred option with the patrons here.

What is better than tasty chicken, garlic sauce and bread. Very busy yes, but service is quick and efficent and there is plenty of seating. If you order someting made to order the you will wait, however chicken is always on the go.
Sweetandyummie
Really busy restaurant. Be ready to wait in line for delicious charcoal chicken. I highly recommend the family deal as its really good value and don't forget to get a bag of Lebanese bread.
TrufflePig
Worth the drive to Blacktown. The best charcoal chicken and garlic I've had out west. The only exception here is the chips which I tend to find better at Granville.
Tonnes of seating and the tables turn over pretty quickly. Far too convenient right next to Westpoint.

A slightly more updated looking EJ than grnaville but just as good in terms of flavour and a much bigger venue ensuring you get a seat

Garlica sauce is once again the highlight of this franchise and it is absolutely amazing. I grab lunch AND takeaway for dinner because itsnjust that amazing

Make sure you have some mints afterwards for you garlic breath though
Amys_food_adventures
Good charcoal chicken and chips! This place is always packed. ORder and pay at the counter and they will bring it out when ready. Nicely roasted chicken, cooked to perfection then topped with some of that sweet garlic sauce is the bomb! Also came with pickles. Free Lebanese bread also comes out with your meal. Indoor and outdoor seating available
Sarah&Gluttony
Continously busy and packed! Which would be expected because for one, their charcoal chicken and garlic sauce is to die for. Also because it's the only place in Blacktown that sells decent chicken.

Had dinner here tonight, have to say el jannah chicken has always been a favourite of mine, though I have to say today when I ate there it seemed like everything tasted like pure salt, the chicken, garlic sauce and the pickles were all salty. If they could just ease down on the salt.

Never seem to disappoint. Food always comes out quickly. Fresh and juicy as what charcoal chicken should be. So convenient being in my area, and is always a quick fix when other charcoal chicken places don't do the job.

Staff are friendly, and the prices are affordable. One downside is there is hardly parking except for inside the shopping centre making you have to walk outside across the shop.

If you’ve never tried El Jannah before then you really need to put it on your list of places to visit. The chicken is moist and juicy, the skin charred so it’s deliciously crispy. And the thick garlic sauce made from the restaurant’s traditional family recipe is so rich and flavoursome. Tip: always order more garlic sauce than what you think you will go through. Believe me, it’s seriously good stuff.

The charcoal chicken is the trademark dish of El Jannah...flesh is delicious and not stringy at all. The seasoning is great, though at times heavy-handed...served with garlic sauce, and a generous lathering of it

Eat-in VS takeaway is an easy battle at El Jannah. It’s well known garlic sauce and chicken is only half the price when you takeaway: $10.90 for a whole chicken compared to $19.90 when you eat-in - what a bargain! “El Jannah Restaurant is a family run business which began operation in 1998 as a small takeaway shop in Granville. The business was created by Andre Estephan and his wife Carole, who have taken great pride and interest in providing the best quality chicken and service to the area of Granville and the neighbouring suburbs.” People come from the other side of the city to devour El Jannah’s amazing chicken (my family and I being one of many from time to time). The big red sign and tables on the corner on South Street is where the queues constantly linger. Heading inside, the bright green restaurant is divided two into two spaces: one calmer room.. and one noisier room where people crowd the counter to order and wait for food. And there are also two options on the menu: takeaway

Since I hadn’t visited for my fix in so long I decided to get a box of takeaway to take home with Miss K, the chicken surprisingly holds up really well in takeaway packaging and is just as juicy and full of flavour as if I just bought it. Falafel I don’t usually order falafel but since I didn’t think the chicken and chips alone would fill me up I decided to grab these, quite good in my opinion and would definitely order them again since they seem a bit healthier than chips and I actually love chickpeas anyway Hot Chips with Chicken Salt I can’t say much about chips, b

It really does not require any introduction, that garlic sauce – seriously, it’s like crack and it was so addictive I couldn’t stop!

Great flavour and great taste , garlic sauce is to die for, make sure you have empty stomach before eating there

Very busy. Despite its location, its a very popular place!! Made popular in Granville the lebanese chicken with garlic dip is still good but my main issue is that if you dont order the chicken, for example a chicken roll, your going to wait!! I waited 10-15 minutes to get my order while people just ordering chicken got there orders pretty quick
Also there is only limited parking there though there are plenty of room to sit down and eat. Worth a try but they have competition in Seven hills now, where my workmate prefers to goto
