Review Green Peppercorn - Blacktown

Oh my goodness, I can’t stress this enough but this place is just superb! Imagine being in such a wonderful place, very Instagram worthy and enjoying their good food too. I had tried Thai cuisine in the past and this is so far the best one I have ever been in ❤️ my cousin said that they kept on coming back to this place that’s why she asked me to eat here too and it didn’t disappoint me. If I could go back to Sydney, I will definitely be back in this place! 💯 just love the ambiance here, the music was good too when we were here. Ugh it was just perfect 🤩

Food is great and so is the ambience. Never knew this place existed. We absolutely loved the food and service was great and quick. Will definitely come back!

Firstly, the staff are friendly. Secondly, the food isn't bad but isn't authentic. Thirdly, the atmosphere is nice and clean. I gave 4 stars because of the waitress and the fried ice cream is very nice and made us feel better after the meal. I would have given 3 stars otherwise.

The ambience is great.. So is food.. we had a Chilli basil friend rice and Green peppercorn special stir fry as mains.. Loved them both.. Both came in good quantity; 2 dishes would easily serve 3.. Not many places serves Chilli basil fried rice (the last time I got it was in Korn Crows nest) and it was fantastic.. Had Pandan sticky rice with durian for desserts; loved that too... Good service.. And not so bad pricing considering all other factors.. Recommended!!!👌👌👌

Always a pleasure to come here. One of the most consistent restaurants anywhere you go in sydney. Thai good was great. Fried ice cream was great. Everything tasted quite fresh for something local. This was my 4th time coming here. Recommend it.

We had our last dinner here during our visit to Sydney (Jan 2, 2019). The food were delicious and nicely plated. We were having a late dinner, about 8:45 pm. When we were eating, the staff started mopping the floor nearby and we can smell the cleaning detergent used in the mop. This made eating less pleasant and was a downside of the total dining experience. If the cleaning of the nearby floor waited after the last customer of the evening finished their dinner, then the experience would have been better. The restaurant ambiance and food was 4.5 stars, while the dining experience was only 3.5 stars due to the mentioned less than pleasant dining experience. Overall a 4 star rating is fair.

Obviously this brand is better than your average Thai place and while I did like it,I was expecting more because of its name. My crispy vegetarian noodles was big in size but just ok in taste. My friend did enjoy her curry though Prices are higher than expected but I do like the decor Service wise, food came out relatively quick but it was a little hard to wave down staff despite the lack of people there It's semi empty down here but I think people just don't know it's there! Too bad none of my photos are Instagram worthy for this place because Blacktown is lucky to have a brand name like Green Peppercorn try it's luck in this area!

Best Thai food that I've had so far!

I’ve been coming to this venue a few times The location is next to Central Hotel Blacktown, kinda hiding from the crowd. The venue has spacious seating area with Thai style decor and beautiful ceiling full with flowers. Favourite dishes: Crispy snapper with green mango salad and roast duck red curry. The desserts were pretty good too.
If you bring your own cake (i.e for birthday) they do charge additional cost per person.

We made a booking and were made to wait for 45 minutes with no apology, remorse or even admission of fault. We were told to wait “a couple of minutes” for the table to clear before waiting another 30minutes, hungry people and kids, no communication. Wouldn’t come back here even if the food was good. Wish I could give 0 stars - Zomato make it happen!

The service here is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious and the music is super chill. Old School hip hop and Fried Icecream are the perfect match!

Food excellent, decor need improve, real basement. Very expensive wine. Also more advertising about this place needed: many my friends live locally and know nothing about such a good foodie place. I changed the rating from 3 to 5. I returned 3 months after my last visit. Green Pepercorn is renovated with good decor. Service and food still on top. The music selection is very pleasant and not loud. I like everything here! The wine is still expensive, but the Mojito bowl made my night!

Flavours of Thailand

Good place to get Thai food, the service is welcoming and friendly. We bought a lot of dish that was flavoursome.

I think it's a bit pricey though, 15 - 20 dollars a dish.

Enjoyable place to eat with friends and family. Service is helpful and the waiting time is about 7-15 minutes. It does tend to get busy during peak dinner hours so parking can be a little hard to find, but there are plenty of seats and tables. Ordered the soft shell crab and it definitely satisfied my craving! It’s a little pricey when I compare quantity and flavour with price compared to other places, but I was still satisfied :)

Came here with friends from work on Friday night. The food were so tasteful. Crunchy rice salad was great. And the pork knuckle was so yum! Will come back with the family.

You walk into Green Peppercorn and are immediately greeted with the deliciously sweet and spicy aroma of good Thai food. There's a mural collage of old newspaper cut outs and black and white photographs of Thailand and its people, giving a brief history of the cuisine as you venture downstairs into the dining room. The walls are clad with vine leaves and graffitied contemporary art of tigers and other mystical animals. It's a cold Sunday night, which makes it surprisingly quiet, but you get the feeling that this place is bursting full most other days. We ordered Pad See Ew, Grilled chicken, soft shell and crispy pork Belly. The pad see ew was probably one of the nicest I've tried in western sydney - less bitingly Tamarind and more creamy tasting. The pork belly was deliciously crisp and melt in your mouth, very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The chicken was a little dry and bland, but still relatively tasty. Green peppercorn also comes with a surprising amount of drinks on the menu, and they did not disappoint (ranging from cocktails to exotic thickshakes and some vintages). Would HIGHLY recommend their crème brûlée btw!! Instead of a pudding like consistency it has a silky mousse-like texture - different but a must-try. My only complaint would be the serving sizes - waaaay too small!

Great service and flavoursome dishes. Highly recommend ducky curry if you love duck skin. Portions relatively small overall for ox tongue and Laos sausage. However, I really loved pandan sticky rice with coconut ice cream- dessert is always on point here! Dessert menu is limited compared to the one in Fairfield

My family love to eat here all the time. Food was really delicious and affordable. Great customer service. Must try everything on the menu. Especially CRISPY SNAPPER W/ GREEN MANGO SALAD, Banana flower salad, coconut sticky rice with mango or pandan sticky rice , soft shell crab, seafood crispy noodles and their curries.

Delicious food, but very poor service. The 2 times I went my table was ignored, it took 15 minutes (after we requested someone to take our order) for someone to take our order. Food was prompt and delicious though. When we ordered dessert we pointed to what we wanted and said it clearly, but we still got the wrong dessert. When we tried to ask for more rice, we were ignored several times, even though several of the waiters we free and casually chatting to each other. Really delicious food and ambiance, but rather disappointing service the several times we went.

Came last Friday with friends for dinner and the staff seated us in the corner at the back. Space was tight so we asked if we can move somewhere more spacious but NONE of the staff can accomodate us - it's wasn't busy so we don't understand why it was so hard to find us better seats. We've been here so many times and spoke highly about this restaurant with our friends and very embarrassed when we took them there. You have to get your staff trained on customer service and hire someone who has common sense, it was awful.

Was actually delicious BUT did not taste anything like a Thai or Lao cuisine...and I know what they're supposed to taste like. If anything, they tasted like Filipino food. If you're looking for Thai or Lao flavour, DON'T GO HERE.
Serving sizes are actually so small but so expensive like what even.
But overall delicious. Sad to give them a 2 but I felt like eating Thai food on that day

Great addition to blacktown! Large spacious restaurant and the vibe is always great. The food is amazing! Blacktown definitely needed a restaurant like this and so glad we don't need to travel so far. The food never fails to disappoint.

Food was good, but service was very disappointing. Our waiter forgot to put through our dessert order. It was only after waiting for 30 minutes and checking up on our dessert, did the waitress put our order through. We had to wait another 30 minutes for it to come out with no apology. Meanwhile dirty dishes were left on the table and we could see waiters chatting to each other drinking their juices behind the counter. Not impressed and do not recommend.

This restaurant was a great addition to the Blacktown CBD food scene. With the closure my go-to restaurant on Flushcombe Road, my friend and I started to wonder if there would be another place with good food in this area. Luckily, they opened a branch here to satisfy my Thai cuisine cravings.

This shop opens at lunch time and you have the option to order your food on the phone and to have your food ready once you come to the shop (be it dine in or takeaway), which I think is a pretty neat feat. I get disappointed with Thai places if they do not deliver on their Thai milk tea or if the place does not serve any at all. But this place offers the best Thai milk tea I have ever tasted (pretty close to the drink I had in Bangkok). The milk to tea ratio is much on point. However, they should definitely have an option to have a regular or large size for the drink (which by the way I have suggested to the staff).

The staff are quite attentive and were quick to serve. Also apologetic if the shop becomes too busy and they have forgotten to serve my drink. The interior of the place screams Thailand, which is always a good way to stimulate the senses. The food served in this place is quite tasty. I especially love their marinated beef bbq. The only downside to this place is it can be a bit expensive.

Food: The food was delicious, the flavours were perfectly balanced. Delicious chicken pad thai and braised/roasted pork, the deep fried soft shell crab was just exceptional. The only flaw was that the portions were quite small, especially since the prices were quite high.

Drinks: I recommend the Thai Milk Tea, very refreshing !!

Service: The service was good, the table they placed our group of 6 was quite small and we had to squish the plates and drinks. The food came fairly quick, and the guys were quite friendly.

Top quality customer service always taking my allergies into consideration. Always delivering the freshest food, this is by far my favourite Thai joint.

A friend and I had dinner at Blacktown's Green Peppercorn restaurant on Wednesday 3/5/2017. We had green mango salad, roast duck red curry, soft shell crab and a couple of their blended fruit drinks. Everything was delicious and we're going back again tonight.

Located underground a pub .. the food is of the green peppercorn standard! The menu has all my favourite dishes. I highly recommend the pad Thai and the pork belly.

Blacktown is quite fortunate have a 'renowned' Thai restaurant in the area. Regardless of the other multiple Thai joints with different and cheaper means items. I've heard some negative reviews since the grand opening- but seeing as this place has just opened. I think their quality is still above average.

Location and ambience- Located in the Central Hotel basement, this place is pretty hard to find. No signs or advertisements. (speaking from experience) I'd say the location is pretty 'shady'.

Menu- Exactly like the Green Peppercorn Fairfield menu. I recommend the fried ice-cream; and the fried snapper with green mango salad!

Service- this place is still pretty empty!!! So service is quick and attentive!
