Review Thai Benja - Blacktown

We had one of the worst dinners here that I've ever had in a restaurant . On the plus side the service was fine and the satay chicken was good. The curry puffs tasted okay but were quite dry. The mains, though, were terrible. The meat in the massaman beef was so tough it really could have used a knife to cut it, and the sauce was too sweet, without a hint of spice. The pad thai was so bad we sent it back - the noodles were underdone, the pork was slimy and the sauce was overpoweringly sweet. We will not be back.

This was an awesome meal, good online ordering experience, fast delivery, large meals, lots of good veges in the meals not cheap filler options like onion or carrot. The vege tom yum was one of the best I have had. No bad dishes in our meal and we will be back again soon.

Ordered takeaway at 7:22pm and didn't get the meal until 8:56pm. The meal was ordinary at best and although we ordered duck we recieved pork. When i returned the dish the chef came out to convince me it was duck. This was rubbish. No refund, not even for the difference in price. Do not go there, bad restuarant.

Bit of a hit and miss. Would suggest the soft shell crab salad & deep fried eggplant. Lime coco prawn dish is also good, as well as their curries. However some dishes taste low in quality and aren't cooked to taste fresh.

Been here a couple of times for lunch. They have a lunch special that caters for all your favourite Thai dishes and includes a can of soft drink. Depending on what you order the price ranges from $10 - $12. Its a cheap, quick and tasty lunch.

This is one of the best Thai Restaurants i have been too both of quality and taste of the Dishes and friendly staff and excellent service. Please keep in mind i have been to many Thai Restaurants all over Sydney so trust me when i say if you like Thai Food that is Traditional with full flavor this is the place to go. From a Benja Thai regular.

I always get my lunch from here at least once a week. It's always ready within 10min of me calling. Very friendly service. I love the satay beef noodle lunch special!

These people make the best Chilli & Basil noodle and Chilli & Basil stir fry in town! We have tried so many thai restaurants in the west and none of them can beat their dishes, now we go here whenever we feel like eating out. Friendly staff, Nice place, and great food!

Worst attempt at Thai food period! The two most important and most famous Thai dishes world wide and a staple on any Thai restaurant menu and they could not get them right. Tom Yum Goong ranked #1 and Pad Thai ranked #5 are a must for any good Thai restaurant and they missed the mark completely.

The Tom Yum Goong tasted like it had been made from a jar, no real flavour and to top it off the vegetables in the soup were rotten and tasted sour. The Pad Thai gets the gold star for rubbish. This dish had no resemblance to a Pad Thai aside from the noodles and the sprinkle of peanuts. It was floating in a sea of some kind of sweet Chinese tomato sauce, the noodles where like glue and the entire dish was not edible.

The owners I believe are not even Thai with both the gentlemen out the front of the restaurant and the chefs talking in Chinese. If that is the case then it makes perfect sense as you can see the Chinese style in all the rubbish Thai food.

If you want good Thai go the extra distance and drive up the the Blacktown shopping mall and eat at that Thai restaurant. They are not the best Thai restaurant either but you will get real Thai cuisine. Steer clear you have been warned!
I was very disappointed with the massamam curry. The meat was very dry and stringy. I felt that our curries had been reheated in the microwave. Very disappointing.

GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE. Thai Benja is not in the best locality being a small shopping centre out of Blacktown but the food is excellent and the service is friendly. The soft shell crab is wonderful

If you cant get Pad Thai right... There's not a lot of great things you can say about the food at this place.
We ordered take away pad Thai and it was swimming in sauce, which happened to taste a lot like tomato sauce. Staff were also rude on the phone when we called to make the order. The only positive thing is that its open past 9pm on a Sunday night.
But save yourself the disappointment, the food is terrible get pizza hut from next door instead.

Worst Thai food ever!. There is nothing good to be said about the food in this restaurant. We ordered the yellow curry chicken and it had three pieces of chicken that were floating in fat and grease. The stir fried vegetables were just as bad, the bamboo shoots smelled and tasted horrible like it was from a can produced in 1990. We ended up eating 2 min noodles for dinner because we couldn't stomach the taste of the food. This is a poor imitation of thai cuisine, don't even think about wasting your money here...bring your business elsewhere!!!

My workmate likes this place and there are lunch specials for around $10!

Food wise it's not bad, tried there pad thai and pineapple fried rice, both were good portions take away

The place itself feels a little dark, food doesn't take too long to come out,and there is decent amount of car park spaces around

Not bad

Fantastic!. Who'd thought that a restaurant this good could be found in a small shopping strip on a suburban street in Blacktown. The spring roll entree was great, chef's special crispy eggplant was fantastic & mains panang curry & stir fry chilli & basil sauce was appreciated for the taste & freshness & variety of vegetables contained within the dishes. Definitely recommended.
