Review David's Palm Court - Blacktown

I'd love to give them more stars but it seems the Chinese Restaurants in Riverstone miss the mark, we ordered special fried rice, wonton soup (wasn't very good) and Mongolian lamb. Taste barely had any flavour.

Very disappointed. The only flavour in the food was from the burnt rice and even the satay chicken had zero flavour besides a burnt oil type of taste. It was hard to swallow due to the bland taste and definitely not worth going back for

I’ve been here multiple times in the past year and I think this restaurant is deserving of a higher rating. I think the food here is pretty good. Their honey chicken is really good, similar to higher end Chinese restaurants, batter is not too thick, soft with a bit of crunch and the honey sauce is tasty. Lots of actual chicken within the batter., the chicken/batter ratio is perfect. Their chicken chow mein is also the best in the area. I’ve tried Riverstone Hong Kong restaurant and Schofields Chinese restaurant … and David’s Palm Court does the best chow mein noodles, hands down, no comparison. I obviously haven’t tried every dish here but based on what I have tried and comparing the same dishes from other local Chinese restaurants I would overall rate David’s Palm higher than Schofields Chinese (which I’ve also eaten quite a few times, various dishes; their chow mein noodles I can safely say was bad in comparison). [I haven’t made my mind up about the Hong Kong restaurant in Riverstone, I’ve only tried one dish there, chicken chow mein noodles, which David’s Palm does much better. I’d need to try more dishes from here before I can give it a proper ranking] David’s Palm imo is very consistent in terms of taste, I’ve ordered from there multiple times and food has been consistent. I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant though because of the pandemic, only have had takeaway. I have no complaints about the service Their lunch specials are available throughout the week, even on Saturdays, you can get honey chicken with fried rice for $9.50 during lunch time which is pretty good value, portion size was good for takeaway. If you’re hesitant about the restaurant’s low review score, I’d suggest you try this dish for lunch first if you want to give it a try. I’ve ordered this lunch special multiple times, and it’s been consistently good. So touch wood it stays that way. Since the recent outbreak/lockdown they’ve blocked off the dining section of the restaurant, you order takeaway/pay at the door, the doorway has a table with the menus on it. There’s limited parking in front of the restaurant but you can usually find a spot. Review date: 9 November 2021

Don't know how to pronounce this places name. Like the name it is a joke, with watered down and flavourless sauces. I had the sweet and sour, and szeshuan chicken. Both tasted the same pretty much. My 2 year old was able to eat both, so chilli was non existent. The texture is good, soft meat, good vegies. Just lacks flavour town.

Ordered on DoorDash for the first time, only to discover on delivery they don’t include prawn chips with a DoorDash delivery, this despite asking for extra prawn chips under special instructions. Called the restaurant, were so rude. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. We have been buying online for years, and we are a customer now lost forever. We will never buy from them again, all over a bag of prawn chips which would have cost them next to nothing. Future lost revenue from us will be huge, we buy Chinese at least twice a month. Thank you for the great food over the years, and goodbye.

Ordering via menulog never again buying from this place. Orderd ham chicken roll got a sort of small tennis ball it was disgusting and soggy. Placed a order for sizzling beef with extra beef received no extra beef but extra rice instead and almost the same amount of onion. Also a satay chicken with rice received no rice. There was no tracking about the order so al a sudden the delivery guy rocked up. Please avoid this place!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty good Chinese food, they have lunch specials and I ordered the satay chicken with fried rice. Not sure it was because I was hungry but I enjoyed it. The takeaway box is large and the food came out at a reasonable rate with sum car park available. The interior is dated though
