FB Burgers are the best I’ve had. Burgers are always So tasty and delicious and not fatty or oily like so many other burger places are. Just wish they had onion rings on their menu too. Always take friends from interstate to the Rundle St store for lunch.
Burger places have been popping up all over Adelaide over the last few years but I can say Fancy Burger is still one of my favourite. The Legend (lamb, mushroom, caramelized onions, goats cheese) is delicious!! Also they have decent chips too :)
Was an OK meal. Burgers were ok. Order was stuffed up initially. Venue was interesting with some lane way booths. Wouldn't rush back. It is convenient if your staying in the city centre
If you're after take-away or fast food burgers, you can't really beat FB's! I love the mushroom one and the chips are so good - with a few sauces to choose from!
I had the biggy... And it was delicious! We arranged for take away and I was expecting the burger to be soggy when we got it home. The chips had lost some of their crunch which was understandable but they were still delicious and I ate every one of them. The burger held up well and wasn't soggy at all. I like the Rosemary sea salted chips. Overall a very filling and delicious lunch!

Having been raised in the Adelaide Hills we have seen several joints come and go at the site of Fancy Burgers in Blackwood. Yet this expression of nouveau burgers is the best yet, in fact a triumph. We checked out Fancy Burgers in Blackwood and were impressed by the modern fit out of this burger joint, the size and quality of the burgers, and the excellent service with the owner on hand. The comprehensive menu offers a great deal of choice including the Fancy That burger with 100% South Aussie beef, Crispy Bacon and Cheese (our favourite), The Biggy (which also has a free range egg and beetroot), the Holy Smokes for that compelling smoky flavour and decent Veggie burgers. Also check out the chicken and lamb burgers, and Fancy steak sandwiches. The price of burgers is extremely affordable at around $10-12 with The Biggy $13.50, with some burger joints around Australia starting to charge $15-20. Buns are so important in the burger economy, an underestimated ingredient. We spoke with the owner about how he visited Melbourne where the brioche revolution is in full swing when it comes to burger buns. Yet these buns are not brioche, but more wholesome. Fair enough. The burger buns at Fancy Burgers are purposely not sweet brioche burgers but they are fresh and of high quality. Personally I like brioche, but I don't care as long as the buns are top notch and "work". We enjoyed the quality of the meat patty, decent lettuce and cheese, and the overall freshness and balance of the burger. The chips were also top notch, golden and crispy. Best. Love this place at Blackwood. Always order my crispy bacon and cheese favourite. The ingredients are fresh and flavoursome, and the patties are a nice quality. Really enjoy the lightly wholemeal bun as well. Only occasionally does the bacon/patty taste overcooked, but I still enjoy my burger. Chips are enjoyable, staff are always joking around and happy.
What it says on the tin - fancy burgers (but totally affordable!). I had a vegetarian burger from here and it was great! Hard to find a nice vegetarian burger but this one had a polenta patty that was really nice with a herb mayo. I had it to go - fast and fancy! Yum.

The beef and cheese burger is the fanciest. If it's any fancy burger I like it's one with beef and cheese on it on a sesame seed bun, it's better than Hungry Jack's and McDonald's since my standards are high and classical music with this burger would be a good mix!
As the name suggests....... Fancy burgers that is reflected in the quality. A little pricey to feed the family but really great burgers that are made fresh.
Pretty decent option - but not worth a special trip. We found ourselves in Blackwood after taking a bit of a Sunday drive and I'd heard so much about Fancy Burgers I wanted to give it a shot. It was 2pm and the place was packed! However it might just be that there aren't too many other options in Blackwood on a Sunday arvo...They have a decent selection of burgers and the service was reasonable. I went for the Legend (lamb burger with goats cheese, avo, herb mayo, field mushroom and salad) and my dining partner tried the Bacon & Cheese burger. The burgers were decent, but if we'd made a special trip just for them I would've been disappointed. The hot chips were good, nothing amazing. All in all, give it a shot if you're in the area and happy to pay a bit extra for a burger, but I wouldn't recommend it as something to travel specially for.
Very hipster, good burgers. I always get the Sunrise Surprise and it's an excellent burger, the portion size is a bit big for me though, I can never quite finish the whole burger. I've only tried their burgers post-second location, so I can't comment on whether the food has gotten worse since they opened their second location or not. But my friends and I like their burgers, plus they're gluten free and they use local ingredients etc and the patties aren't pre-cooked. Also, we've only ever waited max 10 minutes for our burgers...
Finally a place outside of the city that makes decent burgers!. If you're a fan of a good old hamburger every now and then, I recommend Fancy Burger in Blackwood. You can mix and match from a selection of tasty sauces, gourmet cheeses and delicious meats. I am yet to be disappointed in anything I've ordered from there.
Fancy but not expensive.. Excellent burgers and a good price. Better than any other fast food chain. A real favourite.
Great Burgers. This review isn't of a specific visit - its more of a general one. We've been here quite a few time and since its "sort of" on the way home from my kids school its often a stop for a starving kid after school!
The burgers have always been excellent - different and fresh. They also have an interesting range of variations and as my eldest does a custom "built your own" option. They also sell cider and beer to accompany your meal which doesn't bother the kids much but its something I'm pretty keen on!
As yet we haven't ventured to either of their new locations - maybe because the Blackwood one keeps us happy! Great food, great service!

Nothing fancy, just tidy. Just a regular burger bar with a little retro twist. Burgers aren't fancy at all, just a bit tidier and more kitsch than mcdonalds. The pricetag is a little high too for a burger, especially if takeaway.
I prefer to pay for proper food and am not a burger fan, although i have nothing bad to say about this place, it's just a burger bar, by all means, enjoy, but not exactly an out-of-body foodie experience, but pretty sure that's not what they're aiming for.

Service. Been there many times best burgers in town, but I also want to commend them on their service went in last Sunday they were flat out but nothing was too much trouble top marks George you have great staff!

I enjoyed the chicken delight with extra cheese and sautéed onion and it was amazing! The ingredients and the bun were all fresh and well prepared. The staff were friendly but busy which was to be expected considering it is the best burger joint in Adelaide. The price is reasonable too for the fresh ingredients and quantity. I hope they never change a thing! I always recommend Fancy Burger

Good burgers. I've heard a lot about this place and managed to make the distance to give it a shot. The burgers are tasty and I enjoyed my meal. The staff was friendly. There was a bit of a wait, considering they were not packed out and it was not during lunch time so that was a bit of a frustration. Burgers were nice though, but not to die for. I do like the place so I would recommend it as they do have innovative burgers and were enjoyable.

Well what can i say... since the day it opened up what must be getting close to 3 years i have eaten atleast 2 fancy burgers a week. i have tried them all but mainly go for the lovely lb with blue vheese sauce- the reason being that good quality, tasty, tender lamb is hard to come by these days and george has it down pat. forever the best burgers in adelaide and most likely beyond i feel its just not possible to be unhappy woth a fancy burger! the prices are excellent, even fast food joints like maccas will struggle to compete with fancy burgers fantasic price/quality ratio! keep up the good work guys!

Awesome burgers. One of the best burgers not only in Adelaide, but one of the best burgers i've had period. Waiting time can be a bit harsh if you walk in when it's busy, so best bet is to ring ahead. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, but my personal favorites are the BBQ steak sandwich and 'The biggy'. The staff are also very friendly and courteous.

Smoked chilli mayo. Worth the trip just for the mayo. Team with a biggie and chips. If you phone your order through get them to repeat it back to you so they dont give you a bunless burger (WTF!!!). The burger was good so I can forgive the screw up with the order. Kicks the shite out of steamed lettuce.
So, so, so good.. This is no ordinary burger joint. The flavours are fantastic. The service is friendly. You can buy Hills Cider to go with your meal. Highly recommend. Delicious.
Deeeelicious. Finally got to see what all the fuss is about. The sad thing is the years of lost opportunity to eat a great burger. Fresh tasty and great chips. Staff are great, nothing too difficult. One of our party had a dietary requirement. The staff were happy to accommodate their requirement.
Fabulous Burger. I can't believe I haven't frequented Fancy Burger until recently! Having now realised what we've been missing we've been quite a few times in recent weeks, having both takeaway and dine-in. Dine-in is recommended over takeaway (although that's largely because we live quite a way away) but from what I've seen of Friday nights, be prepared for a noisy wait if you want a table - the joint is PACKED! And for good reason; all the beef burgers and chicken burgers we've sampled have been nothing short of excellent (the crispy bacon beef burger and the chicken burger with avocado are recommended) and the chips with herbed salt are totally yum. That it's licensed too - selling good ciders though the beers could be better - takes the cake. Great stuff! 9/10

Went to Fancy Burger on Saturday for the first time. Life! Changing! Best burger I have ever had. Everything was fresh and delicious and perfect. Mouth is watering at the memory. Friendly super fast service too. We went at 6pm and the place was PACKED but were still served quickly and had our burgers in 15 mins. Just brilliant. Will be back!
Yum!. Ordered the Tru Blu sandwich by mistake, thinking it was a burger. Tastes just as great as a great burger should. Partner's Holy Smokes was also fantastic. And chips seasoned in salt and rosemary. Triple winner.
Best Adelaidian burger. Title says it all. Their burgers are worth the long and whiny drive to Blackwood. I have never been disappointed with their food, every single time (and I go there a lot!!!).
Great warm wholemeal burger buns, juicy patty and the aioli is delicious!!! What more can you ask for in a burger....some might argue their burgers ain't the cheapest around town but I am more than happy to pay $8 to have a decent and real burger from these guys!

Impressive taste and quality. The wonderful grill aroma will meet you as you approach and lure you in to this great little burger bar. Believe the reviews; we have been here about 3 times now and they make a great burger, the meat is cooked perfectly with fantastic flavour from the grill. The ingredients are fresh and very tasty. Sauces are delish and the large cut fries with sea salt and rosemary are tdf. They even sell beer and Adelaide Hills cider to round it out! Best burgers we've had for a looong time.

Regular visitor. I lived in Blackwood for a few years and was always left wanting in the takeaway department. As luck has it, just after we moved Fancy Burger opened up. After finding out about this place, we've been there about 10 times (including last week) and only once has it not been spectacular. I think this was in the teething stage though.
The kitchen, Captained by the owner George (who's a top bloke) runs like a well oiled machine and the burgers are great quality. You can taste all the fresh ingredients unlike other burger joints where the tomato tastes like cardboard.
My favourites are Holy Smokes, Hot Chicky and Lovely Lamb. Also get the chips with herby mayo every time too. It pays to place your order in advance then turn up and grab a chair if there is one.
One tiny gripe is that the chips seem to have a tad less rosemary on them than when they started up. Maybe this is due to customer feedback, but I for one say pile on the rosemary! I'm still yet to try their steak sandwiches, hot dogs and veggie burger, but I will definitely try them all.

Brilliance in burgers. I thought pub burgers were the best...then I went to Fancy Burger. After having almost all the burgers and steak sandwiches I can honestly say that they are all fantastic, especially the Biggy. And chips with the creamy mayo dip is a must.

Fancy a Yummy Burger. Had this on a place to visit list and the burgers did not disappoint. We had 'The Biggy' and 'The Crispy Bacon & Cheese' with a side serve of chips with smoked chillI mayo. The burgers were a really good size, had lots of flavour. The chips were really nice too with sea salt flakes, good on their own, but with the mayo it was a tasty lunch.

The BEST burgers in the WORLD. I'm a big guy! Therefore I must like food! So let me tell you, FANCY BURGER IS AMAZING! I love a good burger and have enjoyed what I thought were decent burgers from all over Australia, across the USA and beyond! But now nothing comes close to the amazing taste sensation that is Fancy Burger! It doesn't matter if it's a Beef Burger or a Delish Chicken variation! They all have the most amazing combinations of flavours! The buns are always fresh and nicely toasted, the chips well seasoned and the homemade dipping sauces are to die for! The staff are friendly and cheerful and the owner George is one of the nicest blokes I've met. I've had the Satay Chicken burger 5 out of the last 10 nights for dinner! That's how good it is!

LOVE!!!! In a bun!. I always hit up this burger joint when I am in the area for a tasty burger that doesn't leave my mouth or tummy like its dripping in oil. NO GUILT AFTER CONSUMING!! I like the Fancy That served with chips and the herby mayo or sweet chilli mayo :)
What a gem of a place! Who would thought burgers made super quick could taste so good!! My husband won't order burgers anywhere else now as he just doesn't want to be disappointed. In his opinion no one else could make a better burger compared to Fancy's. We eat there regularly and have found the service, quality and taste of the burger top notch EVERYTIME! Highly recommend- a must try :)
Nice little burger joint tucked away in Blackwood on the Main Rd. Decent choice of burgers with the choice to upgrade to a meal combo with veggie burger options and more. All sauces made fresh in house along with the burger patties, a very nice touch I must say.
Customer service was friendly and meal arrived to the table in a decent amount of time. Chips were a tad crispy but you could order to your liking, they also have a nice range of dipping sauces to compliment your fries for $1.50.
My overall experience was good and I recommend popping in to give them a try, supporting local SA business at the same time.

A great gourmet Burger place that doesn't knock your wallet for a 6! Great choices including three great Veggie Burgers. Must try all three! As Molly would say "Do yourself a favour!" Three great SA locations, Blackwood, Black Forest, Kensington Park. Don't forget the Fancy Chips and housemade sauces!
They have delicious gluten free burgers - hooray! Plus they are not insanely overpriced! Able to order online and receive / request a precise time for pickup (less than 10 mins in my case!) Which is very convenient with kids in the car. Staff were friendly and pleasant yet professional and efficient. Oh and the chips are fantastic too!
