This is one place that I continue to return to for a fantastic meal. The staff are friendly and the service is good, the menu is fantastic such a great show case of local and interstate produce. We are a family that only eat fish/ seafood and found there was a ample amount of choice on the menu, I decided to have the Atlantic salmon with risotto and asparagus everything was delicious the risotto was tasty and the salmon cooked to perfection only thing missing was a sauce to go with it but that's just me being fussy. My partner had the chef special #1 which was a NT barramundi in a green curry served with rice. This needs to go on the menu permanently he loved it and licked the bowl clean, he wasn't a fan of the pickled vegetables on the side but the curry itself was to die for, they even accommodated by giving him more chilli as he likes it hot. Overall I never seem to be disappointed when I come here for a venue that's so busy I do recommend booking but it's well worth the trip up the hill. Will keep returning. Keep it up guys
I like this pub/hotel. Comfortable and cosy....
Has its sports area, chilling out area and restaurant area.
Food very good. And good selection of drinks
😆
Fantastic meal again; reliably great! Lamb Backstrap could not be faulted. NT Barramundi in green Thai Curry was perfect. 10 y.o son cleaned up the chicken nuggets & chips, 13 yo some loved the beef schnitzel
There's not much to say about this place. It's a pretty standard neighborhood pub. It's a bit too* family friendly with young families on one side and then older groups on the other, makes it a weird vibe.
The food was good though and the drinks were reasonably priced. But it compares to pretty much all the other hotels, but it's a good local.
I came here last minute with my husband last night. The service was great with smiles and very helpful. I ordered a chicken parmigiana and it was delicious! Chips were golden and crunchy. So yummy. The mushroom sauce was very nice. Had a nice strong mushroom flavor (don't find that often) and there was button mushrooms in there also. The side salad was very out of the ordinary which was amazing!! Had shaved beetroot in it which made it so tasty. The garlic bread was delicious and filling. We will more than likely return.
At busy times of the day this hotel is packed out, extremely popular for both meals and relaxing with friends for a drink.
Twice we have arrived without reservations and have either had to wait or go to a different part of the hotel (I have now learnt my lesson and always book an hour or more in advance).
The bistro looks stylish, it must have had a refit recently, and there are two sections for children including an outside enclosed activity play area.
Large selection of wines, the food is always good (but not exceptional), but I do love the kids areas.
I've been a regular local for over 7 years and tonight was so disappointing. Waiters are rude now aperently it's acceptable ?? If u can't cook a steak right don't offer us the choice of how we like it. If you say the chips are TRIPPLE fried then TRIPPLE fry them, don't serve them uncooked. If your mushrooms are old and spoiled don't turn them into a sauce for me to get sick from. I'll be back, because it's a easy pub to drink at. But I'm sad I can't order a nice expensive rump steak without being pissed off and it ruining my evening. Cheers.
Very Impressed. After dining at this hotel last night, and reading some unfavourable reviews, I felt compelled to give my opinion, as I was very impressed. The food was fantastic. I had the Gnocchi - highly recommended. Very tasty, portion size was very generous, a beautiful dish. The others at my table had the pork roast, the veal wrapped in Prosciutto, and the lamb, and they all liked their meals. For dessert, I had the 'special' which was a fruit tart with Turkish delight icecream. It doesn't sound like much, but it was amazing - the tart tasted like something you'd make at home, very crisp, 100% fresh. I didn't time how long the meals took, but they seemed to come out efficiently. The kids meals came out fast, which is always a bonus. The hotel wasn't packed, but it was still busy (Tuesday night).
As for the service, this was really good too. The staff were friendly, and soon after we had our meals, one waitress came to our table to check that everything was ok. After we'd finished our desserts, another waitress came to ask for some specific feedback about our desserts - perhaps the chef had asked for this?
As for the prices, I think they were great value for money, it was what I'd expect to pay. Overall, a good night, I would definitely recommend.
Awesome, With a slight La De Da - ness. Upmarket bistro goodness... Impressive!
Each menu item has that little extra flair, presented with care and finesse.
I understand why this place is ALWAYS super busy! Be sure to book a week in advance.
Excited to go again!!!
Good burger - finally a pub that uses freshly ground 100% pure beef in their burgers, and doesn't cook the life out of them!!!
A lovely, thick medium cooked patty with crispy bacon melted cheese - the makings of a very good burger. There were two small issues - structural integrity and aoli - the bun, too soft to hold the contents = burger blowout, the aoli, too much fresh garlic = overpowering. Perhaps roast the garlic first for a sweeter and more rounded aoli??
Otherwise good job Belair Hotel.
Just recently went to the belair hotel twice in one week, because of the steak I had there. I have eaten at alot of steak at many quality restaurants and the one at the belair hotel is one of the best!!! Cooked perfectly, very flavoursome and a healthy size.
My favourite place to eat in Blackwood or Belair, though sometimes the dining room can be overrun with noisy kids.
Awesome chips! There's a l.... Awesome chips!
There's a lot of good chips around but Belair Hotel's made me stand up and take notice. They taste double fried with perfect combo of creamy inside with golden crispy outside. I sat out in the alfresco seating area and had a tasty pint during happy hour and it was the perfect spot to unwind. Recommended!
Above average. We go fairly regularly, even just for desert if we want to pop out. On a good day it's great, on a poor day it's OK but a little pricey. The modernization of the restaurant is well done and staff always seem helpful and professional.
Been here a couple of times now and the food is always spot on. I had the soft shell crab salad and the portion size was great for the price and the flavours were great too. The pork belly and the brisket is also amazing, looking forward eating there again soon.
Best steak in Adelaide.... ... got to be close to it! The food at this restaurant does vary according to their (frequently changing) menu, but the current version is fantastic.
I ordered the spice-rubbed scotch fillet the which was cooked to perfection, and was a good quality cut of meat. The accompaniments have reverted back to those from the previous menu: crunchy potato skins and buttered corn cob - nice...
My wife and I shared the Haloumi and Chick-Pea chips "light meal" as an entrée, which was the equal of dishes from far more upmarket establishments.
After the meal, we retired to the front bar, which we were pleased to find is now frequented by clientele more akin to the bistro crowd from the back bar.
All in all a pleasant evening: a great local with good food, a family friendly atmosphere and good service.
Good Atmosphere. Great Bistro with Bar, Dining and Lounge areas. Casual ambiance. Went early on a weekend evening before the rush. Service was quick, efficient and pleasant and we had dined within an hour. There is a very diverse menu with something for everyone - we have a vegetarian and several kids with varying tastes, all catered for. The Salmon was undercooked and sent back, returning shortly after another sizzle. Great views and a good meeting place for Belair.

Good Service. Well to be honest it’s a room with a view. In the day time you can see from the dinning room amazing views of the hills and picturesque sceneries. The gas fire place in the middle of the dinning room really is a centre piece. The food was ok. I feel presentation of the food could have been worked on a bit more. The staff is very friendly. The front bar staff are very flirty with female customers so you never know you might get a number of one of the lads (watched it happen). Other than that I feel that is a nice place for a Sunday dinner or lunch.
Great experience. An all round great restaurant in the hotel. Tasty food, superb environment complete with central fireplace and lounge chairs, and a terrific wine list.
Nice venue, lunch wasn't too busy but had atmosphere.the friend I dined with noticed the menu changes regularly which I class as a good thing! Risotto chicken arancini was nice! Wine list had good variety, half bottles available for all "by the glass" wine. Service just ok.
Couldn't be stuffed to cook on Friday last, had the Rabbit Pie, so did the mrs. Moist, good puff cover, tasted like rabbit. Pretty happy, boy had his usual half schnit, always goes down well, even fussy girl demolished her chicken wrap. A bit overpriced but round the corner. Book frid/sat, service can be slow, till queue is a joke, due to dumb people ordering drinks at same time. Shaw & Smith by the glass and Redbank Emily fizz. Dull beers.
Loved it!. Great menu, modern interior, very pleasant experiece!
Good family venue. We love the Belair for its great children's play room which has glass bricks in the wall so that parents can see, but no one else can hear, their little darlings playing. Food is OK. It's not exactly a gourmet destination and prices are slightly on the high side for what one gets. We tend to stick with the dishes of the day. The wine list is good. The room is attractive with good views, light and airy, with a cozy fire with sofas for a natter and a drink. It's a shame they don't do coffees and cakes between meal times. The venue would be perfect for that.
We went after the Reno an the meals in the bistro were very nice, the standard is a lot higher. We both didn't complete our meals as they were a good size. A kids room with games was a nice distraction for kiddies
