Banana fritter was above average. Good tasting chips for a takeaway shop, lots of small chips/battered crumbs in the bag though. Good amount of seasoning on the chips today, not too salty. The hot chicken roll is a bit heavy on the seasoning, and you should probably eat with a salad to cut through. Overall, worthwhile trying considering they have been voted best chips in Australia, and the chips serving is generous.

Well I definitely understand the hype now after purchasing my first Uber Eats order and my goodness the portions are MASSIVE. I ordered one chicken schnitzel salad pack. It was shared between myself and two puppies and we still have half a pack left for tomorrow! The beetroot salad is absolutely AMAZING! I do find a scoop of gravy at $3 a bit steep as an add on but nonetheless the meal was fantastic!

Half chicken and chips 🤤🤤 These guys have always had amazing quality every time! They were pretty busy since they were awarded the best chips in Australia but you should have seen how quickly and efficiently they hammer out orders 💙

We bought a jumbo sized chips today and when we got home, we were given the ugly side of it as you can see on the photo. The old woman as well was not accomodating at all. Sadly, it was our first time going there because we heard it has the best chips in SA but definetly it would be our last. Not the best service and chips at all. Disappointing.

Thought I’d try it after hearing the hype and made a drive out with my boy, both of us ended up disappointed. Schnitzel was dry and the chips felt like they were yesterday’s leftovers. After hearing about the best chips around, can honestly say I’ve had much better at Oportos, won’t be trying again.

An absolute favourite lunch spot for my colleagues and I. We usually do end-of-month chicken platters but my group has recently spent every Friday enjoying something from here. We're big fans of the schnitzel packs because one pack can feed two of us if we're strategic about it. The staff in-store are incredible. They run such a tight ship. Love it here. Also can't stop with the chips, so good.

I was not happy with the Australia famous chips that I had today in a family meal. I got a large bag of greasy broken end chips. The chicken and the salads were really great.

Best chips in Adelaide. Ask for it well done if you like the extra crunch, takes a tad longer to cook but well with the wait. We prefer to ask for less salt coz regular salted calls for plenty of water later on. Seriously have cravings for the chips all the time and will drive 30min just to get them!

The absolute best chips in Adelaide when you’re craving a crunchy, fatty, salty chip. Even as I’m driving past and smelling the waft of hot chips in the air makes you want to drive straight in and order the biggest bag.

My first review of Chicken Chef, I gave them a 4.5 and a very generous write up.<br/>My last visit was not so good. Someone had obviously ordered a jumbo chips and left. Several minutes went by and several attempts were made to sell the chips to the person that ordered them. <br/>They had obviously left. The staff member (perhaps the owner) decided that the chips should go back in the fryer. <br/>To cut a long story short, I got the chips. I usually love their chips but these were stuck together and not right. To do this sort of thing in full public view is showing complete contempt for your customers. You probably saved 0.50c worth of chips but potentially lost more than one customer. To add to this, I was missing part of my order and didn't realise until I got home. I'm going to give these guys a swerve for a year. Let's hope they up their game.

It's been at least 20years eating at Chicken Chef , both Blair Athol and Hillcrest, being that I'm horribly Fussy I keep coming back and or cross town to get the best. Without hesitation I recommend Chicken Chef, quality people, quality food. As I now work predominantly in the Hills "Mt Barker" I'm devastated that none of the 4 Chicken Shop there can compare and such as it is I just don't bother. Any chance your going to start a shop up there ?

The chips makes up for everything else in this shop. Chicken? Bleh, fish? Bleh, salad? Bleh. Chips? Oh My Freaking Mysterious Monkey On The Sky!<br/>We made a 30km trip every weekend just to get our fingers on these chips. Please open another shop in the Western Suburb.<br/>Please!

Best value for foodie fkn bang. Those chips, adorned with their own glorious chicken salt are trophies is roll around in like a dusty dog. And their service, and this is fast food, is pretty consistently great. <br/><br/>Go for chips. No frozen shit here. Oh and their chicken is worth a shout too.

Chips are pretty damn good. So good they will still be considered good by your discerning foodie younger sister, 15 minutes after you took them home when you couldn't finish your own generous serve

Chicken chef rarely get orders correct, they are rude over the phone and in person. We have seen staff yell to other staff "it was the f***ing customers fault not mine. We will not be going back here. If they do get your food correct it is nice, but no nicer than another takeaway and its just too horrible of an environment to go in to.

Iconic chicken shop just north of Adelaide. People, myself included, have been known to travel many kilometres just for some Chicken Chef chips. I know, it might seem extreme for a run-of-the-mill chicken shop ... but I dunno what they put in their chicken salt (MSG? opiates?). All I know is that Chicken Chef IS worthy of the hype and has been for years.

Good chips, okay gravy, average service - longest waits when busy! Very popular place for t/a
