Review Hurricane's Grill Bondi Beach - Bondi

Tanya Cat
We ate pork ribs, marinated garlic mushrooms and chicken Caesar salad. We have eaten here for years and this place is somewhat of an institution. The ribs marinade were all you could taste, there was no meat flavour. The chicken Caesar was rather coarse in that there were huge chunks of chicken with anchovies all in quite a rustic dish. Definitely unrefined but tasty. The garlic mushrooms were delicious. We drank sparkling mineral water. Still love the place and will be back mainly because of sentimentality but also for the food. Thanks for reading.

Sat down starving so decided to share the wagyu beef and a chicken burger - plus a bottle of sparkling water. Less than an hour and two clear plates later our original idea of sharing a dessert was not going to happen. Both totally and happily stuffed - couldn't even finish the water šŸ¤£ We'll be back to try (sharing) the amazing looking rack of ribs that a few diners were tucking into.

Very well portioned and cooked beef ribs. Perfect meal. Friendly staff and nice environment. Highly recommended

We had lamb and beef ribs. They come with chips. Both were so delicious. The restaurant vibe was nice and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The whole experience was good.

I stopped in here on recommendation from a friend when I told them I was hungry and wanted some meat. Delicious full rack of ribs! What more can I say?

Delicious food located in bondi. Although I prefer the pork ribs, the steak is great as well
Ash Ruel
The food was amazing and the location is so good as it is close to the beach. The chorizos are something to try and the ribs are amazing

Whenever i have an event, i always think of this place. Excellent service, attention from the staff and above all incredible food. My most recommended dish on the menu: Lamb ribs!. Amazing! Good food, good service and exquisite place! Five āwithout a doubt!.

This has been my third time here. First time trying the $48 Pork short ribs with side salad and it was delicious! Tender, juicy and not overly fatty. Service was the stand out. There was a female waitress with red hair and a French accent who could not have been more welcoming and proactive. A must try when in Sydney!!

Pork ribs was a huge failure - it was not warm and tasted bland, lack of seasoning and sauces. The darling harbour outlet is much better so avoid here as much possible. The coleslaw and chips tasted much better than the ribs - felt like you could do a better job at home
Yulz
Nice ribs restaurant that always consistently makes perfect ribs. We also ordered garlic mushrooms that was really tasty and a jug of sangria to share. Nice foods as always.

Was expecting great things from this place but unfortunately was let down a little. The ribs were pretty average and the steak was quite tough. Not worth the expense.

Last night we had dinner here and I ordered the combo steak and ribs. The ribs were terrible and obviously cooked and reheated which dried the meat to a discussing dry meat. The steak cut I chosen was porterhouses and if the head chef even looks at the cuts of meet they would know they are being sold vein meet cuts, it was cooked like I asked medium but not worth the value for $$.
The service was fantastic. I notice the table guest next to me also complaining about the food prior to our food coming out.

Most people would recommend Hurricaneā€™s Grill in Darling Harbour, but the one at Bondi here offers a very distinct experience. If you prefer city view, the one in Darling Harbour is great. But I personally prefer the one here in Bondi, because itā€™s less crowded and close to the beach. Although you donā€™t get to view the Bondi Beach from your table, itā€™s only less than 5 minutes by feet! I would highly suggest going for a stroll there at the beach after eating here.

As for the taste, the pork ribs are always excellent. Also tried the beef ribs, but I donā€™t like it as much as the pork. Instead of ordering one portion of pork ribs and another of beef ribs, might as well order 2 of the pork ribs. šŸ¤¤

Delicious food, awesome service and very good mood. After a walk around the beach, pass by this place to have a very good lunch! Order ribs and drink cold beer and drinks.
ManganMaster
Their grilled ribs are pretty good. Either lamb, pork or beef.

We also tried their variety side dishes such as their awesome garlic mushroom.

We have tried hurricane in darling Harbour as well and hands down the Bondi branch got the best flavour. Kudos to their chef and also awesome customer service.

The full rack of pork ribs are a MUST when going here. The ribs tasted so juicy and the sauce was delicious. The ribs are worth every dollar.Ā Plenty of seating inside and outside this large restaurant. Despite being such a large restaurant, the service was great.

I believe everyone knows the quality of Hurricane's grill. I am not a big fan of the ribs but here there are very tasty ribs, specially beef ribs also the burgers are good enough. Always friendly staff. Bondi outdoor seating is nice.

come here on monday to eat lunch. choose 2 dish for 4 people.

Fried calamary
it doesnā€™t really special just an ordinary calamary dish

Full Rack pork bbq
when the menu come, shocked by the size because i never see that big portion in Indonesia, we think we canā€™t finish it because itā€™s too big but we can finish it because itā€™s really good.

Easily the best ribs in Australia! Ribs are my favourite food and I order them every time I get the chance. Being from Melbourne, I am so sad that one thing our city canā€™t do well is Ribs! Hence, every time I travel to Sydney, I make sure I fit in a visit to Hurricaneā€™s for the best pork ribs in Australia.

Truly the best beef ribs that I have ever had. I ordered their Full Rack Combo, consisting of Pork and Beef ribs. The Beef Ribs were marinated well and the meat were so tender. However, the pork ribs were a bit bland in the middle, and it was hard to separate the meat from the bones. Hurricane's Grill's sauce was my favorite. the perfect balance between sweet, salty, and smoky. Their fries are also great.

Hurricanes Bondi was the first Hurricanes I ever visited. May I also add the best out of all the Hurricanes outlets I have been to. Had lunch there with a girlfriend on a Saturday. The staff were extremely attentive and polite and the food portions were spot on. I canā€™t go past the ribs here. Definitely the best ribs Iā€™ve had in Australia! The pork ones are divine, and the beef are also delicious. I tried the lamb ones before and they are not that great as they lack meat and really fatty. I love you hurricanes you never seem to fail me!

Ribs lover, beware!
Bring a guess stroll Bondi Beach and we decided to have pork ribs.
$40 for Ā½ rack, grilled and basted with savory basting sauce, African style.
Itā€™s a shame that the ribs was over cooked, meat a bit though.
For the carb, I chose sweet potato fries, beautifully cooked, sweet and crunchy.
Octopus Salad, just like I remember, soft tender occy, marinated to perfection!
Served on bed of mix lettuce, with olives, tomato, capsicum, Spanish onion, cucumber and a wedge of lemon, cost you $30
Dressing, was complimented nicely.
Moctail was good too.
Lushes Mule, their signature, $10.
Ginger beer, Mango, cucumber and honey.
So refreshing!

Delicious pork ribs not overly saucy and sweet. Steak was cooked perfectly and the seafood salad just as nice. Service was a little slow but it was real busy too. Found with the 'uncle Jims' cocktail the sparkling wine was flat and didn't give the cocktail the edge that it needed. Overall the food great.

I love their pork ribs and bbq chicken. Its franchised so what could go wrong? But i love this bondi one a lot better than the one in darling harbour. Wait staffs dont push you like the ones in darling harbour. So you can actually enjoy foods. also it is located quite close the beach. What more can you expect :)
Xlittlecupcake
First time trying Hurricane's in Bondi and I was really impressed. I like it more than the darling harbour and Brighton locations as the steak was actually cooked as requested and was tender af. The ribs were also delicious and roasted garlic potatoes that came with the steak were heavenly šŸ˜

One of the best ribs places Iā€™ve ever been to. The plate was huge and satisfying. Their starters were really good. Itā€™s a little bit more expensive than other places but every bite was worth it.

Garlic mushrooms - must order entree here! The best!
Pork ribs are soooooooo good too! Or Steak! Order combo if you want a bit of both! All time favourite!
Willtravelforfood17
Holy crap the ribs were huge! Nicely marinated and falling off the bone too. Delicious. Also tried the lamb and beef which were not bad. Will bring a bigger stomach the next time.
Ellieeee
The ribs here were okay, a little to the dry side. Nonetheless everything else was good! The chicken burger was great too. Lovely staff, great ambience.

Great service, reasonable price, just be prepared to spend quite a lot of money. The proportion is great for us. If you love ribs and steak, then this is the place to go. The Ā fresh oysters were also great. Would love to visit again.

Staff were super friendly and you can rely on getting a table quick here. The ribs were excellent with beautiful flavours. The ambience, atmosphere its all here. Any dinner, here promises to be a fun night out. Definitely recommend.

what an unpleasant experience! the food was ok but the service was so bad. we were a group of 5 and when we arrived at the restaurant, nobody care to lead our seats we have to ask someone to give us a table. someone took our plates, knives and forks without asking before our main course, so we have to ask them to bring us knives and forks. onw of the waitress totally ignored me and im pretty sure she saw me raise my hand to ask something, i hope its not because we are Asian looking. At rhe end I have to walk inside to ask somebody to bring us some knives, twice. service was so unprofessional.

Hurricanes always hits the spot! Lamb ribs are my favourite and I always enjoy treating myself to one of the best rib joints in town. Yum! Can't wait to return !

This place is overrated. Expensive precooked food smothered in sweet sauce in a room filled with entitled r20 something kids who still live at home. When my friends suggest we go to Hurricanes I don't go. I'd rather spend my money somewhere that has good food and decent atmosphere. If you want a steak try La Macelleria

A restuarant that is familiar to most as having one of the best ribs on the market. With many locations we have visited their restuarants in Darling Harbour, Brighton Le- Sands and bondi. We always get the ribs and sometimes do a half half with a steak. The pork ribs basting is delicious but you won't find much meat on it, which is why we sometimes go for half and half option.

Both restaurants are very modern with beautiful views and always full to capacity so we definitely suggest you book in advance and don't leave it to the day before or on the night. With regards to price it is affordable but does head towards the pricy side especially if you plan on doing entree, main meal and dessert with drinks ontop.

I love this garlic bread. I ordered the whole lamb ribs, but when I watched the ribs, it surprised me, one plate includes 3 large pieces of ribs. I can't eat these ribs in one night. I think the waiter should give me suggestions or remind me when I ordering.
Adam & Ari's Culinary Crusade
Be sure to book at front of house or outside; back end of restaurant is busy and noisy. We ordered full plate of ribs to share (2 people) and garden salad. Servings are large. Food and service was efficient and friendly. We ordered a jug of red wine sangria. It was the best Sangria I've had in Australia, reminiscent of Sangria in Spain. Prices are exy $$ and atmosphere is busy, but if you want good meat and good service, go to Hurricanes.

I had heard good things about Hurricane's for a long time, and I was pleased to finally have the opportunity to try the Hurricane's at Bondi last weekend. The restaurant is slightly back from the esplanade, but was still busy even when we arrived at 2:30pm. The staff seem more than capable of handling large crowds, however, and the service throughout the meal was efficient.

I am a bit of sceptic when it comes to lamb ribs (I find they are often too fatty), and so opted for a combined plate of pork and beef ribs. Though it may seem a bit pricey at $52.00 a plate, both the quantity (see my photo below) and overall quality more than justify this price tag! Realistically, you could get away with sharing this plate between two people; I felt like I was going to burst after eating the entire plate!

These ribs really were excellent - the sauce was abundant and flavoursome, and both the pork and beef easily came off the bone; an absolute necessity for any good ribs! I would say that the beef ribs were slightly fattier and not as nice as some I've had in the past (e.g. Meat and Wine Co, Embers Steakhouse in Brisbane), however, the pork ribs were truly outstanding! I have found that some pork ribs just aren't that meaty, however, this was absolutely not the case for the ones at Hurricane's! The chips were crispy, though had a distinct "frozen industrial" taste, but hey, you come to Hurricane's for the ribs, right? The blue cheese salad was also an excellent accompaniment, with the salad itself being fresh and crisp, and the blue cheese sauce being sharp and creamy.

In conclusion, if you're looking for ribs done right, it is extremely difficult to look past Hurricane's, and I am certain that I will be back the next time I get a craving for ribs!

No matter what Hurricanes you go to whether it be in Bondi or the Gold Coast you'll get consistently perfect food and service.

Sat outside on a sunny day for a late lunch and had a terrific meal here.

Staff were super friendly and you can usually get a table here ASAP always. The little one was in a bad mood so they made him a chocolate milk - happy child is always good.

The garlic bread is so good here - lots of garlic and flavour. The chicken breast and ribs combination is a great value meal as for $52 it feeds two people easily.

Fabulous food in the best part of Sydney!
Doodiethefoodieblogger
I always come here for the blue cheese salad but I love the pork ribs. Most of the time I can't decide which ribs I want to order because they're all amazing
Sydneyguyrojoe
Ok looks like the complimentary bread is finished! Pork ribs as good as ever and food came out faster than expected. Service is friendly and not hard to wave down. Oh the other great item on the menu is the octopus salad! That's also a must try! Best ribs in Sydney!

The service from our Spanish waitress was impeccable. No wonder the manager wants to keep her. The food came quickly and was tasty. My 2 teenage children enjoyed the ribs. My lamb was well cooked but could have done with some vegetables on the side and my wife's chicken salad was enjoyed. So if you like your meat, good portions, and aren't looking for something creative or avant garde then this could be the place for you.
Andrew Thaung
Ordered the t-bone steak. Was very chewy and not satisfying. Presentation was average. Just chips and steak on the plate. Doesnt even come with sauce. Overpriced for what it is. On the positive side the waiters were nice and welcoming.
Jose Alexander Louis
This place got quite long waiting time because it was always full. But the food for me it's worth the wait. I really love the calamari. The ribs was also very tasty, I tried my friend's salmon and it was nice too
My only concern is that the baked potato for my rib's side dish was undercooked so it was still hard to chew
Nina Terror
Terrible service, do not come here! We had to chase down a waiter to order after no one approached us for 20mins to even see if we wanted to grab a drink. Then we watched as everyone around us (who came in and ordered after us) got their food. We waited an hour and a half and asked about our order multiple times only to be told it would be another few minutes. Ended up leaving in frustration after an hour and a half and no food. Honestly would never recommend the hurricanes to anyone again. The ridiculous wait and ride staff is not worth their overpriced food.

Used to be 5*

When in Sydney, this used to be the "must-visit" institution for us Melbournians. Sadly it's not the case anymore, as it has lost it's authenticity and attention to detail on their steaks and ribs. Instagram # and followers are more important while the cost is skyrocketing just like the NASA space program.

Focusing on their quality is on the back seat of franchising, a specialty no more, it has failed.

No BYO too for that special occasion.
HeraldSun Reviews
The garlic bread was poor quality, the rib eye was tender and of a better quality, the chicken was of a charcoal taste but was very tasty nevertheless, overall okay experience nothing amazing, but the French waitress Carolina outside was an absolute star, so kind helpful and absolutely pleasant, made the experience a 10

Okay let's first start off, with the customer service; customer service is exceptional šŸ‘Œ They are a wonderful and humorous crew! Pork Ribs was a great experience, tasted nice except there was a little too much sauce, but overall great. The designated place for this business is a bit far away for the western suburbs, but for a first experience it is worth it. The downfall for this business is that it's quite expensive, I would recommend it for a first time experience but not to continually eat over there.

Living in Melbourne, I always crave good ribs and Hurricane's Grill in Sydney always is on my mind so I had to come back. I recommend booking for larger groups and to avoid waiting too long, as its a busy, family-friendly restaurant that is always quite busy. My partner and I shared a full rack of porks ribs, a mediterranean Ā salad and corn cobs and we left very full and satisfied. I love how they mother the sauce on the ribs, the saucier the better! Service was quite quick and friendly staff that are attentive. Only downside was the ribs came out warm-ish, so the ribs got cold pretty quickly.
PleasantPeristalsis
Centrally located in Bondi's beachfront. Simply can't go wrong with pork ribs and fresh hot chips. The free bread with butter is a nice gesture. Seafood salad was surprisingly good, the grilled scallops, squid and prawns were so fresh and mouth-wateringly juicy.

Food was okay. The service was alright. When I ask the waiter for a spoon to eat rice, it took almost 5 min to get a spoon. Awful. A whole roasted BBQ flavour chicken was $30, which was so expensive. The BBQ roasts chicken was not special at all. It is almost similar to that sold in supermarket. The mock tail was $10 each and tasted ok. I don't recommend this place to eat.

I haven't been here in so long but with family visiting who wanted to try Hurricanes a booking was made for dinner. We made the booking early so it was still quiet but as we were leaving just after 6 it was getting pretty busy.

Staff were very friendly and we were well looked after. We ordered the calamari, chicken wings and some salads along with their famous pork ribs and steaks which was all cooked well and delicious. We asked for their sweet potato fries as our sides which can be done for $3 extra.

A bit pricey but worth checking out if you want good ribs.

Usually the originals are the best. Hurricanes is no different. Have been to eat here many times and I think it's the best hurricanes if the bunch. The ambience, the ribs, the steaks the service - it's all here. I probably don't have the same opinion of all the chains however this one is great :)
Ann
Been here heaps of times however the last few visits here have been quite disappointing. Visited with a small group and two out of four ended up becoming quite sick later on in the night from the cheese burgers. The ribs that were once divine and fell off the bone were very disappointing and dry. Unsure if there has been a change in management but the quality of the food served here is sadly declining. Used to be my favourite restaurant, too!

It's difficult to book a reservation in darling harbour so I change to Bondi beach. The location is good but only in morning. And compared with darling harbour, the side chips is too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why!! I like the sweet potato chips here but why u only give me a small sizešŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

Love the ribs here especially the beef and pork, flagship/original store mentality makes it feel like the ribs are better than the franchise locations

Whenever there is the open air cinema i buy takeaway bed ribs and munch on it whilst watching a movie

Definately recommend for the ribs and the starters are decent too especially the garlic prawns
Sweetandyummie
This place is great for ribs and burgers. The menu is diverse and the customer service is always attentive. I highly recommend ordering the Rib and Steak combo - its great value and you will definitely feel the meat coma afterwards.
Princess Greedy Guts
I love ribs... who doesnt? And this is still one of my favourite places to go for giant, saucy, delicious, inviting racks, served with chips of course. The pork ribs are still the winner after all these years followed by beef ribs. Lamb is tasty initially but can be greasy. The portuguese chicken is also pretty good but dont come for that. Steaks are decent but again I wouldnt bother. Focus on the ribs!
Lil' Me
Beef steak and chicken salad for dinner, pretty tasty. Good customer service, nice ambience.
It's funny to see lots of big strong men wear bibs in the restaurant.
Although I found it interesting that a fair bit of people, especially old people were not able to find the toilet. the toilet door is not obvious for people to locate, the signs were light colour on a white door. So, it can be confusing.
Olivia S
The pork ribs were quite disappointing. Dry and not enough meat on the bone, I'm guessing they cheap out on low quality meat when possible. Also the chips weren't seasoned at all for us, not sure if it was a kitchen mistake or thats how its supposed to be. However the servings are big and the service was great, very friendly and attentive.
Baz Juan Pablo Sanchez
They're good at what they do, and that's anything meat. But is the selection available adequate ?!?, I found them a little light on the poultry side of things and could've been a little more creative.

Overall pricing is a little steep for what you get but I guess when you factor location in it works out in the end
Adam
If you haven't eaten Hurricane's pork ribs then you should as when they are on the mark they are delicious. Although they do delivery the quality of the ribs is not as good as eating in. I also find that the consistency or quality of the racks vary's a lot and some times it's just pot luck to see if you get a good rack.
Food Nazi
Forget Hurricane Grill, super expensive, crowded & tourist prices...around the corner on Hall is Ribs & Burgers.
Got a huge tender 400gm Rump ($23), full rack ($30) juicy amazing & so much cheaper.
Thank god we bumped into this place.
Butternut Muncher
Hurricanes is an old favourite of mine. I don't come here that often as the prices are high, but their famous ribs are a must-try, and have a very distinctive taste about them. They're soft and fall off the bone, which is perfectly complimented by the smokey, sweet barbecue marinade which they are doused in. Staff are very attentive and come tie the bibs around your neck, and if that isn't good customer service then I don't know what is. Situated right by the ocean, Hurricanes has a classy yet fun ambience to it. Any dinner here promises to be a fun night out.

Ate at this place while traveling in Australia, ordered half rack of ribs and BBQ chicken with baked potato and it easily became our favorite lunch during the travel. Staff was friendly and helped us out in picking our food. It was a bit expensive, but totally worth it!

This is so far my favorite ribs place. Lucky that we got a reservation. Very friendly services, chatted to us as if we were friends. We were very well looked after. Ribs are fantastic. All friends believes that it's better than the one at Darling harbour.
Leanne Li
I ordered chicken but it is only average. I tasted the steak in my partner's plate. I didn't expect that the steak is so good. Very tender, very tasteful. The service girl was very caring. I will for sure come back for the steak.
MKC Inc.
I guess hurricanes is the place to go for ribs and steaks. We ordered a variety of dishes from the garlic mushrooms for entree and ribs, steaks, seafood and chicken for mains. All the food was very tasty, the basting sauce on the ribs is perfectly balanced with sweet and savoury flavours. The butter prawns came out on a bed of rice which was lightly seasoned and the saucy sweet and zesty.
Passionate Foodies
Been here quite often before they opened in Darling Harbour.

Best place to eat the BBQ Pork Ribs, Caesar Salad and Peri-peri Chicken. Service here is not good. Sometimes they refuse your entry just because you are late by five minutes. If only they know how long it takes to find a parking spot near Bondi Beach.

If this happens to you, don't worry, just order takeaway and eat with your friends near Bondi Beach. Better view, no need to tip any one as the extra service is inexistent.

Bottomline : Great food. Poor service. Average value.
Rebecca
Ate there yesterday evening and by the time I came home I was running to the toilet with diarrhea and vomiting! The steak I ate was contaminated and I got food poisoning
Johnson Johnston
So much food coma, but so worth it! Hurricanes throws every idea of appropriate portion size straight out the window, making it great value for money! The ribs, the sauce, the chip salt. It's all fantastic. Unfortunately, we were a touch disgruntled by the wait times we endured for our meals, however, the size, the taste and the quality of the food made that it all very understandable. Due to the volume of customers Hurricane's recieves, the tables are particularly close together making the experience slightly cramped and strange as we were able to hear everyword of the next table's conversation. Planning your visit for a less busy time is recommended.

Warning to pregnant ladies: Ā Don't trust the food here!!! Ā Just came back from the most disappointing meal ever - I am pregnant and we explained to the waitress (who was lovely by the way) that the meat had to be fully cooked and well done and she even kindly checked to see if the lettuce and onion was made fresh to order. Ā Apparently it was. Ā So I was so excited to tuck into my delicious cheese burger when it arrived... but the lettuce had brown spots and mini insect bite marks on it (pregnant ladies know that brown=bacteria lol) and - much worse than this - I cut the burger in half and it was totally pink inside. Ā The outside looked chargrilled and well done, but clearly the chef was not a pro because the inside was definitely medium. Ā If I wasn't so pedantic about the health of my unborn child I probably would have bitten in to my burger, blissfully unaware. Ā But who knows what the consequences could have been for my baby? Ā The manager was mortified and offered to make me a new dish, but after that I just couldn't bring myself to trust their food. Ā So I sat there, feeling a bit nauseous, watching my guilt-ridden husband eat his $60 plate of ribs. Ā What a let down of what was supposed to be a lovely date night out to mark our 9 month anniversary and 9th week of pregnancy. Ā They took my untouched meal and our drinks off the bill, but still charged us for my husband's ribs... which I thought was entirely inappropriate if I'm honest. Ā
I just had to publicly express my dissatisfaction at the experience, and also warn other starving pregnant women like me that sadly even the more expensive restaurants still let pregnant women down when it comes to safe eating.

This was definitely the first Hurricanes I've been to so it was nice to revisit it again. I remember my first time there I manage to eat a full rack of ribs, chips and a steak... it was crazy. Luckily I've grown up since then and have more sensible food choices. As a group of 7 we shared 4 full racks of ribs and two large salads. The pork ribs were as good as they always are I love how its consistently good across branches. The service here was top notch. I love how they do as much as they can to assist the customer. Payment process by card is accepted.. I do hate the fact the eftpos machines ask for tips... but the lady at the counter didn't seem to fussed or pressuring. Located only a stones throw away from the beach, it's was a perfect place to dine and then to walk off the calories we ended up doing the Bondi to Bronte walk.

Mmmmm ribs! Our go to place when I can't seem to decide what to have for dinner as it never disappoint. If you're after a good feed - Hurricanes is the definitely place to be! Food is flavoursome and in decent portions. Bondi Hurricanes is my new favourite as they accept booking even if it's an hour before dining. So no waiting/queing!
Marissa Putri
Enormous ribs! Ordered both full racks of pork and beef ribs for 5 of us, we couldn't even finished it šŸ˜… ribs so meaty, tender, and juicy. Love the herbs roll/garlic bread as well as it's so buttery and smells really good.
Ilovepancakes
I have been coming here for years now. A place that never disappoints. Though sometimes you'll have to wait for a table. The service is satisfactory and is really is true... They serve the best ribs in Sydney. This is my 'go to' when I want a guaranteed satisfying and filling lunch/ dinner
Amy Christianto
Still the best ribs I've ever eaten in my life! :) the meat absorbs the sauce perfectly, blending the taste n the tenderness of the meat together. Portion and efficient service made the hurricane franchise more worth the meal too. Definitely my top 5 among Sydney's food picks.

...we headed off to Hurricane's Grill for dinner. This restaurant is another staple whenever we visit Australia and I know that this a favourite of a lot of people too. It was a weekday evening so we easily got a table without reservation. Really like the laid-back ambiance and the staff were really attentive until the restaurant started to get busy. I can see they were a little shorthanded. The location is very strategic being near the beach, shops and other eateries. So here's what we got: Pumpkin Soup . I really like the thick consistency and the richness of the pumpkin. The croutons were very crispy and buttery as well :) yummmm Garlic and Herb Roll . The bread is warmly toasted, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outer layer. Ā You can taste the difference between the herb and the garlic bread too. The portion was really generous but for next time, I'd say just skip these because they do not taste differently or

The glorious glistening slabs of ribs, basted in Hurricanes gluten-free secret recipe sauce seems to be its strong suit. It's a winning formula of finger licking intensely sweet and savoury coating and a melt of the bone tender meat. The Beef Ribs ($42.90 for a full rack) were my favorite, its joints of marbled fats between the bones rendered to a religious stack of smoked meat with the gentle prodding of the knife. The Pork Ribs ($44.90 for a full rack) retained a bit more chew, and were preferred by those who had more caveman instincts around the table, gnawing and sucking away at the challengingly curved ribs.

For starters, the salt and pepper calamari was good, but it was a bit too battery and I feel like it needed some spices seasoned on it or something to add some pow. It may just be that I love the salt and pepper calamari at Meat and Wine Co. really badly, so everytime I eat s&p squid, that's what I keep comparing it to. The garlic mushrooms were also pretty good too, but a bit

Weā€™re not quite sure how much to order. D2D claims he can eat lots of ribs, and we had an early lunch and a surprisingly filling drink for afternoon tea. BBQ CHICKEN WINGS Basted and flame grilled to perfection; served on a bed of rosemary infused rice $19 We order BBQ chicken wings served with rice. I go straight to using my hands to eat the chicken wings. Theyā€™re slathered in some special sauce that makes it super yummy. Itā€™s a slightly sweet variant of a typical BBQ sauce. The rice is surprisingly yummy with the sauce and also without, because itā€™s infused with rosemary. $19 for 4 chicken wings.

I recommend this restaurant for the food but not service. Hopefully the other chains have better service. If you want a flavoursome steak, its one of the places to go. Plus the view is a great A+++++

One of the worst steaks Iā€™ve ever had (flavourless, tough, rubbery) and some of the best ribs Iā€™ve ever had (tender fall off the bone meat that had been generously marinated in a delicious gluten-free secret recipe basting sauce). Be prepared for some messy eating when it comes to the ribs, but donā€™t let that deterĀ you from coming here as the staff will offer you the option of having a bib (which they even tie around your neck for you). The service was quick, the atmosphere family friendly, a place certainly worth visiting for theĀ ribs. Ā

No trip to Sydney is complete without a trip to Hurricane's! Ask any Sydneysider. There are currently a total five outlets, with the most popular one situated in Darling Harbour. I would suggest booking for a table (especially at the Darling Harbour branch) unless you want to brave the permanent queue outside during dinnertime. I booked and I had to wait at the drinking section for 10 minutes before being brought to my table!

It is simply the ribs! Whether you choose to have pork or lamb, theyā€™re equally exquisite. You can literally rip the ribs off the bone! I would recommend you to share a full rack of lamb (or pork) for two due to its massive size.

While I enjoy being served at restaurants, I think I would rather takeaway my half rack beef ribs $26 and fries $3 so I can wolf it down in private. Cutlery actually takes away from the enjoyment I think. It costs like $10 more to eat in at the Hurricaneā€™s restaurant anyway and Iā€™d rather have that go to another serving of meat. The sauce on these ribs is the essence of yum and Iā€™ve never been disappointed by the taste.

Usual order of the Ribs and Steak Combo which includes a half rack of the ever famous Hurricaneā€™s pork ribs and a 200gram sirloin steak cooked medium rare. I always have a hard time picking between either steak or ribs so I always end up going with the ribs...

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the world famous Bondi Beach, and while you are there, you can discover Hurricaneā€™s Grill. This Australian institution specializes in grilled meat of all varieties with signature marinades that have a South African flavour. The restaurant is light and airy, with a large alfresco area to the front, a contemporary bar area and further inside eating area.

Experiencing the un famous pork and lamb ribs at Hurricanes Grill seems to be one of the top list when you visiting Sydney and surrounds.

These ribs are the best I have ever tasted. A good amount of sauce, no fat and incredibly meaty. This place is busy and for a very good reason.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
You have to book to get in here. Its busy - but once you eat here and see how much you get and how nicely its prepared you'll understand why. Hurricanes is not cheap meat. You pay a bit more but the quality and quantity makes it all great value.

There is also a bar food menu that offers crispy whitebait with aioli, mini flame-grilled beef skewers among other small dishes to tide you over while you wait for a table. But a word of caution, make sure you don't fill up on these dishes and miss out on the ribs, because they are worth every minute of the wait!

Sauce was delicious and ribs were basted beautifully. Tasted like southern, smokey BBQ with a hint of Ketchup and much more. Lamb was slightly tough, but I actually really liked it that way. Ribs was as you say, falling off the bones. GREAT snack, just eating ribs with your hands by the beach

Basted in Hurricaneā€™s own special rib sauce and grilled until tender. A taste sensation! A Bib is standard issue for the ultimate experience. Served with chips.

Day 1, we all went to hurricanes, 24 of us ā€“ just family. We all rocked up at the Hurricanes in Bondi Beach ā€“ a place I havenā€™t visited for such a long time ever since the Darling Harbour branch opened. As much I love going to Bondi, parking is a nightmar

Ribs. I love ribs. I love people who love ribs. It's about marinated meat cooked over charcoal. About burnt edges that have caramelised to a delicious sweet crunch. It's about the juiciness of cooking on bone. About scraping off every morsel with the edge

Whenever I'm wanting ribs I usually think of Hurricane's. If you're hungry but can't really finish a full rack then it's better value to share a full rack with someone else ā€” much cheaper than ordering just a half rack for yourself. I tend to prefer the P

I think hurricanes have a big head. Too many backpackers who are not committed to giving good service

Overrated. Good ribs yes, great ribs? Definitely not, and for the price and with the guests as cattle style of rushed service, best to avoid.
Burguru
Cheeseburger This isnā€™t m.... Cheeseburger

This isnā€™t my first Hurricaneā€™s burger but it is the first Iā€™ve had delivered to the front door, a service unique to the original Bondi store. Delivery was fast and the food arrived hot so no complaints on that front.

I had the cheeseburger with thousand island dressing ( a definite favorite sauce when it comes to this style of basted burger). The burger is massive and delicious, a sometimes difficult balance to achieve. You are left feeling full and satisfied.

The pattie was cooked well and basted in a smokey sweet sauce, you could enjoy it all on its own. The other toppings were fresh and delicious, in particular the pickles, which I find add to this burger greatly. One drawback is the cheese. I could barely taste it with all the other fillings and in a cheeseburger this isnā€™t good. Perhaps two slices of cheese would work better to lift the flavour and justify the $1.50 additional charge.

My wife also had a burger, although she isnā€™t a connesiur like myself, I feel her feedback is relevant. On the plus side she loved the flavour and this from someone who prefers a vege or a chicken burger over beef most days of the week. On the negative she thought the burger was too big and perhaps a little dry. I have no complaints with the manly size of the burger but mine too was dry - possibly due to the delivery.
Overall a really great burger and thereā€™d be no hesitations in ordering home delivery again.

Tips for dining in at brighton hurricane. We were told that hurriacane on brighton beach is nicer than the one at darling harbour, so here we go- dined in on 24 april for dinner.
how to get there: take train at bondi junction, take bus 333 to bondi beach. bus stop is just 2 min from the shop.
booking: pls possible try to make reservation to avoid long wait/queue, loving how they send you a reminder text along with other information- name, time, venue etc,
portion: we are 7 adults- 5 males, 2 females, ordered 1 garlic as starter (YUMS), 2 full racks of pork, 1 home specialties trio platter - mixture of lamb(YUMS), pork and beef. these are served with chips and you may swap the chips with garden salad upon request.
overall dining experience: foods are served quickly. staff are attentive, bibs are given to everyone at no cost
to add on: hurricane also have express take away - foods are ready for you within 15 mins after making an order (we order 1 full rack of pork ribs for take away at hurricane darling harbour). however, you can call them up an hour before you visit to the store for pick up- they request 1 hour in advance notice prior pickup.

Mixed service. Went here recently with a group of friends & have to say that the service we experienced was not on par with service received in the past. 2 of our party ordered the new york strip steak however the waitress bought 1 strip and 1 t-bone. When we asked where the correct steak was, she said that sometimes the strip steak has a bone in it. We pointed out that it was a t-bone, and she said "I think you're wrong" then sent over the manager who apologised profusely and took the steak back to the kitchen with a 25 minute wait for another one so that we had all finished our meals by the time the correct steak came back out. We were given 2 complimentary beers to make up for this which was ok.

All in all, staff probably need to be a little more educated on cuts of steak but good flavour none the less.
