Review Bondi Hardware - Bondi

Best night out with life long friends. Great menu, great staff, exceptional service, fantastic location. We were 6 people out, shared many different dishes and just as many bottles of wine. Spend most of a Saturday evening sitting outside on a fantastic fantastic day in spring.

Visited a while ago. Everything was satisfying. Great coffee and nice ambiance.

Had my birthday celebration yesterday with 10 friends and my girlfriend. The waitress was rude, the manager wouldn’t let one of my friends go in because “it was too busy” (he and his partner were on the booking), luckily he didn’t listened and walked in anyways. There was one chair missing and they refused to give us the extra seat while they had unoccupied seats and tables around the venue. Steak was overpriced, flavourless and cold, drinks were ok but wouldn’t recommend the place. Very disappointing, the venue it’s nice but the service is mediocre and all of us felt mistreated by the staff. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Our experience was extremely poor, starting with the fact that we made a booking for 12 people and they were missing a chair. The staff was very rude. They didn’t want to admit one of my friends on entry because “it was too full” even though our booking was for 12. And if you are thinking on bringing your own cake, prepare cause they are going to charge you 5pp to bring the cake to you. Everyone of the group had the same feeling, very disappointed.

Good service, nice cocktails and decent atmosphere but the food isn't great- pizzas are pretty much a bistro/RSL quality with way too much sauce. The shared lamb was the best dish by far.

Overly dark ambiance with terrible acoustics. Food was passable. The sourdough for the baked artichoke dip ($15) was burnt, but the kitchen obviously couldn't be bothered to correct their simple mistake so it was presented with the burnt sides facing down on the plate. It was sent back and replaced immediately, but come on. How lazy and disrespectful is that? The prawn saganaki ($21) and prawn, mango and avocado salad ($24) both had a measly four prawns each. They weren't particularly large or fresh, either, and for the price, they could definitely afford to be more generous. Large share plates, such as the barramundi ($29) and short rib ($32) were better, but not good enough to redeem the underwhelming starters, atmosphere and staff. We didn't bother with the uninspiring dessert specials. If you're considering Bondi Hardware for your next weekend meal, there are plenty of superior options nearby.

The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it if you like shared plates. The cocktails were also very good and worth the money. Overall the service was friendly and attentive especially given how busy they were. We booked relatively last minute for three so we chose to sit outside rather than on bar leaners in the window. The heaters were cranking and it was easier to have a conversation outside. If we had stayed inside where it was loud and there didn’t seem to be much social distancing going on, it could have been a different story. Overall I liked the place a lot and would come back and recommend it to others. Maybe just not while we are trying to limit large gatherings. (Dish came with more calamari. We’d already eaten some)
