Review Raw Bar - Bondi

Isabelle Nunn
Arrived on a Saturday night and it was busy but only a 15 minute wait which was impressive. Great system of texting to let you know when your table is ready. The staff were all polite and attentive even though it was so busy for them. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and decor. Even got a window seat 😍 Loved the drinks and the food was so fresh and tasty. Great menu selection. Came out staggered which I enjoyed. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We really enjoyed the food, drinks, and the beach atmosphere. Everything was very fresh and of high quality. Very great food!! The service and personnel was friendly and contributed to the great experience. Highly recommended!

Consistently excellent food. The forced request for a tip at the end of the meal is starting to wear a bit thin though. This is Australia, and I'm having lunch by the beach. Not really the usual tipping scenario. Also, if I want to leave a tip, I'm quite capable of doing this without being prompted. Update: Seems this has been phased out. Great to see a business listening to its customers. 5 stars!

There's only two sushi places in Sydney that ever exceed my expectations. One of these places is Raw Bar. I been going there for the last 6 years regularly and still enjoy my order like the first time I went, few of my friends been going there since they were kids and they still do until now. Its a very small restaurant, they offer delivery and pick-up but I would recommend to dine in just for the experience. The sushi is fresh, very fresh they prepare right infront of you. My favourite dish would be Mt Fuji Roll, trust you must try it, as well as Crispy Salmon Roll. Their drinks also so tasty 😋 Great place and great service 👍🏽 👏🏽

Delicious. We are on “holiday” from the northern beaches of Sydney and have come to Raw. Walk in.. no problem. Cocktails delicious. Food yuuuum
Dan F
Taste was average. Ordered tempura prawn but it was just battered not tempura at all.
Joelle Violet
Delicious food in a great location. Definitely agree with the tipping, it seems a bit forced when you are getting a casual early dinner, also considering tipping is not as usual in Australia. Never the less, great food and worth coming to.
Alex Noie
Good food, but the service ruined the whole experience. The waiting guy (Sam) was extremely rude and short to my partner. For an average food, with poor table service, and a guy with massive attitude I don’t think we’ll be going back, after giving them three chances/visits. If you have kids it’s even worse, don’t even bother. Luckily there are plenty of places to have a good meal with good vibes in Bondi.
Tania Battello
Great food, great style, great vibe, great cocktails & wine list, great service!! Thank you Karl for being the host w the most. The place was packed & I have to say, this is my fave local Japanese hang x
Sarah Hawkins
Came here last night, service was amazing, even for an extremely busy night we were well looked after. Food looked great and tasted amazing- only thing which is concerning is I came home and within hours had awful food poisoning. Not sure what could have set it off as we tried a lot of things on the menu but wasn’t a great post experience...
Mark Stott
Wow wow wow to the place, had visitors in town so brought them here and it just never fails to impress. The food, especially the beef nagi...actually everything we ate was just about the best foodie experience you can ask for in a lazy lunch. Thanks guys for looking after us all. It's an intrinsic part of the Bondi experience in my book!
Sandy Kwondo
Fantastic service, food and view. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Gina Maric Constantine
Bespoke cocktails. Great view. Friendly professional team. Fabulous sushi. Great afternoon!

Food is okay. Presentation is good. Service...hmmm.... took too long between the entrees and the mains. It's very pricey for such taste. Also a set menu for 2 pax only comes with 1 bowl of rice??? 2 bowls of miso soup, 2 sets of plates, everything is set for 2 except the rice. Seriously guys?
Natalie Bracken
Always amazing. Food is fresh, service is warm (I'm looking at you Ondi). Can't wait to come back.
Liam Oneil
Beautiful fresh food.. beers and sake.. had such a nice time..
Amilee Grace Myson
One of my favourite venues for a great healthy meal. Always fresh, great atmosphere, pretty to look at and even better to eat. Definitely check it out if you are close by, you won't be disappointed.
Jade Walker
Gorgeous Food +++, Great vibe, Amazing Sake, Good Tunes!!!! thanks RB
Andrew Johnson
Yum! Excellent sushi at a great beach side venue. Will definitely be coming back!
Ben Jenner
Great menu, great food. Friendly staff treated like a local even though I'm from Melbourne. Great for a quick bite to eat day or night and a few drinks.
Andy McLoughlin
I was excited to come here for the 1st time as I'd heard great things! The atmosphere is quaint and the food is delicious but the attitude of our occasional server Kendelle was deplorable. She was terse, rude & aggressive, her disdain for customers in general was clear as she scoulded a number of tables. The worst choice for a brand ambassador Raw I'd suggest a spring clean of staff!
Ezechiel Ritchie
What a shame when your local Japanese restaurant is let down by the terrible assistant manager Kendall, as the rest of the staff were ok. When you are paying higher than average prices you expect a smile at the very least and no arguing with the customers. We were not the only one affected by this as our neighbours left after 15 mins when she attacked them for opening the window slightly. Spend your money elsewhere : Soy or Myoko!

if i want a blissful experience this is one of the places i go. love it. , love the food, love the service. i highly recommend.
Sandra Mccarthy
Amazing! Great service and fresh, tasty food. Can't fault it.
Darren Pate
The manager was very rude and in his words "he must support his rude staff over the paying customer" The reviews on the foodie sites say it all..spend you money elsewhere! Unhappy regular..not going back

RAW GONE WRONG Nothing worse than going to restaurant and being ignored by Staff whose attitude is to act as if they are above their clientele "the customer". Unfortunately some young people think that the customer is privileged to be dining and served by them. As they say it always starts at "the top". Management then asked us to leave without even asking how was our experience so far??he was arrogant enough to say he has to support his staff and we should not have seated ourselves that is his job. When i asked where he has been for the last 20 minutes he said upstairs doing stock take !?!? He said he was not interested in our complaint and told us to leave. I said i have been here many times i am local you have served me here and at a previous restaurant he had worked at the fact that he did not remember me or any of our previous experiences always very good and always leaving an excellent tip is again concerning. Do you think that perhaps it had something to do with the fact we had all of our 7 young children and in such a small restaurant it was best not to have us. Believe me they maybe children but they certainly missed out on a big/ huge order and bill for their end of day till not to mention a very fast turnover. Wow there goes another of my favourites !!!! Which restaurant ???? Hard to believe but RAW BONDI!!! Sokyo at star is now my local Japanese From now on.
Jessica Sheslow
Ordered Chicken Teriyaki with rice via Uber Eats. Couldn’t believe the size when it arrived. It was a main dish $19, the rice I ordered with it was larger than the chicken. Massive rip off for a main meal!!
David Shrimpton
$27.50 for this....
Andrew J
Unfortunately my rating of raw bar is based on their delivery partner Uber eats falling to deliver our meals. Choosing Uber eats reflects on the business and from this respect they score poorly. Perhaps think cancelling Uber eats due to the poor taste they leave with your customers

Raw Bar has been in Bondi since I can remember, and there is a good reason for it. Sashimi is ridiculously good - I dare anyone to find fresher. Sushi is all good and if you're feeling adventurous try the roasted eggplant with miso, it's buttery umami deliciousness. Small and cosy in the cooler months and outdoors seating for the summer. It's perfect for small groups, dates or a quick bite. Service is efficient and warm... Thanks Ondi!
Hans
Great food!!!! Splendid service from nice people. Far above avarege, you are safe of a good experiance. Weell sĂśtaste with a nice view in Bondi.

Most delicious and fresh sushi in Bondi!<br/>Their shop is quite small so be prepared to wait and not cheap, but it's worth it.<br/>The staff are friendly and super quick service.<br/>Everything on the menu is delicious so whatever you order will be amazing.

I eat a lot, it’s a satisfying work hazard. I am closing on 200 venues for the year. RAW BAR, at Bondi Beach is the leader of the 2017 pack. I would consider moving to Bondi just to be closer to this Japanese marvel that has been in operation for twenty years. That Cod dish stole my heart and the eggplant dish blew my mind. Full review is up on Spooning Australia.

Raw Bar is a Bondi institution which serves some fresh, innovative and classic Japanese joint. Located at the northern end of the beach, the sushi bar is a great spot for people watching, especially gorgeous ladies in bikinis. <br/><br/>Besides an extremely slow service, the sushi was pretty decent, certainly better than the nonsense from Sake. I begin my feast with an unagi nigiri. Brushed with a layer of sweet teriyaki sauce, the unagi was succulent and fresh though it would taste better if the bitter layer of unagi belly is removed completely. Second, The salmon roll was decent too. However, the salmon was clearly not fresh. <br/><br/>Third, the tempura prawn was a disappointment. The thick layer of batter covered the natural sweetness of the prawns and it made me wonder if I was trying fried dough or prawns.

[invite] Bianca: Alongside my obsession with burgers and pancakes, sushi makes a pretty regular appearance in my diet. This is a recent development having avoided fish for most of my young life, where this new interest came from I do not know… All I know, I don’t think it’s going anywhere soon.

Well presented fresh clean flavours and friendly service made this dining experience all the memorable!<br/>Definitely going back, and highly recommended!!

Sashimi at its finest, after a long costal walk Raw Bar is the perfect restaurant to relax and watch the sun set along Bondi Beach 🌊. <br/>Everything served was fresh and delicious. We loved the thoughts put into each dish. <br/>And let's talk about how thick and juicy the sashimi pieces were. 😱 <br/>We were very impressed with the fried scallop sushi and the size of the scallop in each individual roll. <br/>The staff were great and helpful in suggesting dishes especially to indecisive people like us 😅

Great from front to back. Made to feel genuinely welcome on entering the venue. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and paid special attention to my son by providing him with a suitable cup and kids chop sticks. Our food was fast, flavoursome and the sashimi was butter soft and expertly prepared. Great service, without being intrusive. There is a reason this place has been here so long

cute and cosy place. right next to the beach. friendly staff. relatively quick service, most dishes were delicious. the portions could have been a bit bigger though. we ordered quiet a bit but didnt leave as full as we liked. quiet busy on a tuesday night even but they seated us quickly. we had a nice meal. and I would recommend the place.
Johnny
The no bookings policy is reflective of the general arrogance of the staff. Food is over priced and there are much better opyions available in and below this price range.

First time dining here. Service was amazing followed by the food was beyond expectations. Definitely recommend friends and family to come here when we come back to Bondi. Thank you for the experience

It's a little corner shop that is located at the far end of the shops. The ambience of the place gave a very breezy and relaxed feel. When the food came, it looked great and fresh! It was also tasty. The oysters were lovely. We would definitely go back if we happen to drop by Bondi area.

I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, particularly the crispy salmon roll. The service was great. Only feedback is to include brown rice or black rice options and that the price may be a little steep for casual dining. However, I was happy with the quality of the seafood, just not so impressed with the rice.

This little Japanese place is located in a perfect Bondi position and is well known for its delicious sushi and sashimi. My brother and I dropped in here for lunch on a sundrenched day and were looking for something light and refreshing to eat after some much needed beach time. We opted for the Raw Bar Salad, which was fresh and extremely tasty with an amazing combination of greens, avocado, pickled veggies and a tangy Japanese dressing. This bowl was huge and easy enough to enjoy as a lunch bowl by itself. At $17.50, it is not cheap but is of a high quality. We coupled this with their spicy tuna rolls. A very relaxed vibe, with attentive staff and good food - a really good combination albeit not cheap

Great vibe, great service, great location, great food. Have been here many times and it is consistently good. If you like Japanese, definitely a place to try.

In summary, Japanese tapas for couples who don't know Japanese food very well. They have some perks. The dark and cozy room with elegant lighting makes it a great place for a first dinner date. Food is well presented. The staff are very friendly. However, for people who regularly enjoy Japanese the food at this place could be a let down. Maybe the expectation was set up too high with the good looks and rich price tags.
Ella Regan-Lacey
Our local favourite. Visit weekly and never disappointed! Always fresh, yummy, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. A local Gem! It's a must go to I'm Bondi.
James
Food was good. But the rice they use was cheap so the sushi didn't stick together properly.<br/>Over rated!!! There is much room for improvement

Loved this place. Went in late on a Saturday around 8pm and quickly seated to table and offered one of three types of water. Seating is a bit squished but doesn't bother us. A lot of the menu options look desirable, from nigiri, sushi rolls, salads and hot dishes. We went with the tuna tataki main size - so fresh and delicious, with a peppery crumb and wasabi Mayo to accompany it. We also got the shallots covered in beef with salad and the agedashi tofu which is in my top 2 of agedashi tofu that I've tried. There were some other people's meals coming out and the salad looked amazing and the misu nasu (eggplant) so I'll definitely have to go back.

Small buzzing restaurant in a prime location over looking Bondi Beach. Was extremely busy for a Tuesday night although plenty of attentive staff and fast service. Great drinks menu with a range of wines, beers and cocktails both affordable and on the higher end of the scale. The food menu had plenty to choose from as well a a specials menu which we choose the salmon salad. We also had sushi and whiting. The quality was good, the salmon was cooked perfectly although could of done with double the size. <br/><br/>Overall the place definitely has atmosphere although if you're looking for value for money and a full stomach I would look elsewhere!

Overpriced and overrated. I ordered take away and once I got home to eat my dinner I was absolutely stunned and disgusted with how tiny the portions they gave me for the "main meals". <br/><br/>I called them to let them know, and the female manager didn't believe me and said she'd call me back to discuss things. She never called back. <br/><br/>There is absolutely no way those portions can be "main meals" and it tasted pretty ordinary. <br/><br/>Wouldn't recommend anyone to go there!

Worst service! Walked in the empty place and walked to a table and got a telling off saying that I must wait to be seated. So I stood around waiting for ages while the waitress snubbed off everything I did. I walked out.
Courtney
A bustling place serving delicious, fresh and flavoursome food. We enjoyed tempura vegetables (nice, light batter with a bit of crunch and the vegies cooked perfectly), tuna tataki with a killer wasabi mayo, a sushi and sashimi combo platter and the eggplant dish (the waitress recommended this one and very happy we listened!). Only let down was the miso soup which was too salty (and served in one dish when there was 3 of us sharing). A very good experience!
Adam
My favourite Japanese in Bondi. Great food, great service just tends to get expensive if your hungry. The Bento boxes are great if your hungry and value for money if you want to share. They use to do a winter special "Ramen noodle" which was amazing, look out for it..

Don't let it's laid back atmosphere fool you, the food is work class. Flavours and textures are so well balanced and complimented that you can't leave a bite behind. Easy to eat a light vegan meal or a big meaty meal, so there is something for everyone. Highly recommended.

We sat outside, best idea ever- people where all coming home from work and going for arvo swims and we just watched it all happen while hitting some super delish sushi- the wait staff are great, they're like ur mates that don't intrude but are happy to have a chat if you provoke them. Big fan, more than likely to go back again and more!
Nourishment Bowl
Expensive but worth it! If you're after the freshest sashimi, it's here! Everything is made to order and it's just delicious. The ohitashi is a must to start off with followed by the tuna tataki. The gyoza, wagyu beef and beef nagi maki are just heavenly. Paired with one of their cocktails.

I've come to Raw bar quite a few times now and really enjoy the sushi/sashimi here, as it always seems fresh and thinly cut. Some restaurants cut the sushi too thick, but here I feel it's a little thinner and just melts in your mouth.<br/><br/>The wait staff are usually quite friendly and attentive. Getting a table is not always easy though, as it is a relatively small restaurant with approx 35 people capacity inside. <br/><br/>I came with a bigger group once, and they would not accept us, even though they told us to wait 20 minutes. This put me off for a while...<br/><br/>Overall would recommend the combo platter which is $40 and you get a fair amount of sushi/sashimi. The seared tuna is also great. We ordered the salads, but they did not blow me away. Would not recommend them.<br/><br/>Overall really good !
Zach Kutlow
Fast service and good food.  Quality nigiri and sashimi for a decent price (try the combo).<br/><br/>The rolls are a little lacking, maybe it starts with the fact that they label so many of them to contain mayonnaise.  Even if you use it in there, no need to name it...
Mikael Perhirin
We got in early around 06:15pm and 10min later it was full. A great selection of Japanese cuisine from rolls to grilled eggplant which I highly recommend. Friendly staff and quick service. A good address with a great atmosphere to enjoy with a view.
Tarym
The sushi and sashimi was excellent however the worst service possible. I wouldn't return just because of the horrendous service. <br/>The waitresses neglected every table and chatted to each other the whole time.

This place is on the quieter side of bondi beach, just across the school. I remember first time I came here was approx. 7 years ago, i was impressed by this place and still remember it till now. 7 years later, the food is still consistent, friendly service, great ambience and nicely decorated. Really fresh sashimi and tempura with light and crispy batter. Miso cod was well flavored. Great for besties catch up and first date.
Ella.bella
Excellent quality sushi, such as sashimi, inside out rolls and hand rolls. Their specialities; beef negimaki, miso eggplant, tuna carpaccio, and my favourite the raw bar salad. Service is average and food can be quite slow. Expensive compared to most other Japanese options. Small low lit restaurant with a nice atmosphere for an intimate dinner indoors or relaxing lunch outside.

The fish is fresh quality. All dishes are accompanied with the proper sauces. Everything tastes good here , would highly recommend. Great ambience, helpful staff and background music

The uber sleek Raw Bar at Bondi Beach was the perfect lunch location for a Mother’s Day meal (post is a little late). Away from the hustle and bustle of the middle of Campbell Parade, Raw is the perfect location to relax and enjoy some of the yummiest Japanese Cuisine in the East. We sat down and we were welcomed by lovely wait staff, offered water and a selection of edamame beans, chili was the way to go. It came out a decent size and we devoured them along with what seemed like the whole menu… I couldn’t help myself, I wanted it all. The day was a little cold and windy but the warmth of the food and the company made it a beautiful day and a delicious feed.

Try the Flank Steak!. Kudos to Chef Jonathan for putting on a wicked spread. Since every dish is all-you-can-eat, I suggest you wear pants that are a size up. Downside is they don't validate parking.

Perfect Bondi Sushi. Consistently upbeat and attentive service with delicious food to match!

If I didn't know better, I would have never guessed it's a Monday night when I walked into Raw Bar tonight. This cosy yet sleek looking sushi bar was completely full, we were lucky to get a table quickly as a couple just finished their meal when we got there. Situated just off Campbell Parade towards North Bondi Beach and away from the noise of the main road, Raw Bar is the ideal place to relax and satisfy your sushi cravings after spending the afternoon at the beach, or in my case, watching one of my friends jumping in the ocean for a surf after work. We started with a generous serving of Edamame, serviced warm and topped with maldon sea salt; followed with Salmon inside-out roll ( a vocado, mayonnaise, fish roe ) and assorted sashimi, both dish came with fresh wasabi and pickled ginger. From the hot food menu, we chose the B eef Negi Maki ( shallots wrapped in finely sliced beef w/ teriyaki sauce & sesame seed ), it may not be the best I've had, but still enjoyable. There is also a s

Food was fresh and fast! Left there feeling very satisfied with the unique Japanese cuisine.

Everything is good here, I've been here four times, the recent one I used a voucher from Groupon, they keep the good service and manners and the quality of the food, I promise I will aways come back cuz they're good.

Groupon Deal. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. We came on a quiet day and it was raining, staff was very helpful and polite. Food was good however looking at the menu we may never came back. We used our voucher for the food and ordered additional spider roll for $15.80 and what came out was 4 pieces of sushi with garnish. Recommend this restaurant to rich people who like good service and small food proportion. Girls who are dieting this would be perfect for you. Definitely not for me as the advertised meal 2 for $128 value was enough to feed myself....

Clams in red miso broth. Delicious. Broth was light and fresh and the quality of the clams were outstanding.<br/><br/><br/>-----20 Jul, 2014-----<br/><br/>Tried the new season menu today, amazing!!! The clams is red miso brith were to die for.

Amazing food and an amazing view, but the service is absolutely terrible.

I got robbed at Raw Bar! $16.50 for a take away mixed sushi! THAT WAS NOTHING SPECIAL! Wish this website could upload pictures then u would see what I am making the fuss about! SHALL NOT RETURN

The very young staff...we're very rude about their fine dining seating policy and treated us like we weren't on the guest list..locals that visit frequently..never never never again <br/>The service is like 3 day old fish

I was disgusted by the lack of manners from the head waiter. He was abrupt and rude. The food is not good enough to put up with his awful attitude towards customers. With all the other good restaurants in Sydney, there is no reason to go here. Spend your money elsewhere where the waiters treat you with some respect.
Braddles
VERY rude head waiter. Made a waitress cry in front of customers and the other staff, if your staff have to be told off, at least do it behind closed doors. He also didnt even look at us but when a b-grade channel 7 tv star sat nearby he couldnt care less about anyone else.<br/>AMAZING FOOD however. Worth the expensive tag because its definetly worth it. I hope however, this head waiter gets the flick.
Becrhodes
Rude Staff. Came here the other weekend with a friend who had been a few times and said how lovely the food was. We walked in and sat ourselves at one of the many vacant tables. Five minutes after sitting down the waiter comes over to us and asks if we seated here and then goes on to explain how this is a restaurant and you need to be seated at restaurants. We explained how there was no one to seat us and many empty tables, when he cut us off and told us that there is a sign at the door telling people to wait to be seated. He then fussed over how we had sat at a four seater table (all tables are for two and then just pushed together for more people) and if more people come... oh no don't worry... um... I can just separate the tables and separated the table from ours. There were still many vacant tables and only two other small groups of people dining inside. My friend and I stood up and left.<br/>I would never go back, thanks for the "excellent" service Ben. I hope your manager reads this. Or if you are the manager I hope you treat your future customers and staff better than this.
Tash
The service is not great when they are busy. Especially when there are 5 free tables but they ask you to wait outside to be seated and leave you standing there looking silly for 5 mins then seat you at an obviously free table. Every time we have been here our dishes arrive 10 mins apart. So I'm always finished before my boyfriend starts. Not cool. The food is beautiful. But I recommend only coming here during the day when they are less busy
Melanie Lloyd
Absolute crap!!! Called to make a reservation and was told sorry we don't take reservations... We replied but we have 10 people... Come on down when your ready they said... we get there and was told no seats available...stupid!!!
Sioux
Fresh and fast. The perfect place for a quick pre-theatre bite to eat. The food was fresh and beautifully presented and the service was friendly and prompt. The decor is great and this little eatery is tucked away at the northern end of Bondi and so out of the way of the tacky beachside strip. They also have a very good wine list, with great options by the glass. It's pricier than Sushi Train - but worth the extra!
Bigjim
Consistently Rewarding. We love coming here, the staff are always on the ball and the food in amazing.
Paul Carroll
Overrated and over priced. I rarely go out of my way to criticise something publicly, however in this case I'll make and exception. This was undoubtedly the most average (not bad) Sashimi I've had with lackluster service to boot.<br/><br/>The salad (at $16) was little more than Coles bought veg unimaginatively tossed into a bowl with barely a hint of dressing (and nothing Japanese about it). As for the rest of the meal, well, the fish was not fresh and the Goyza clearly frozen. <br/><br/>Normally I wouldn't complain about such things, however, when a place has the audacity to charge $110+ for such average food (plus 1 soft drink and 1 glass of wine) I think they need to wake up.<br/><br/>I will go out of my way to steer friends away from this place.... really disappointing.
Emblematic
Friendly service but vastly over-priced. We had one small sashimi plate, one small crab roll plate, tempura and agedashi tofu and two drinks for $100. The Pimms "cocktail" at $14.50 says it all and the flavour of the food was fine but by no means excellent.
Matt Fussell
F-R-E-S-H. Raw is good without being great. The service and location make this place as both are fantastic. The food is really nice with good size potions with reasonably priced food. Expect to be paying over $100 if you're quite peckish for 2 ppl. I'd give this place 3.5 stars/5
Elizabeth
Dinner bento box. I eat here regularly and can't recommend it highly enough - love the food, service always great, can always get a table. My favourite dish is the dinner bento box, it's $42 and enough for two people, fantastic value!! but make sure you order an extra miso soup or else one of you will miss out.
Madam Wu
Feels like a find!. It's off the main drag and away from other restaurants but it's no secret to the locals who must routinely queue up for the fine sushi and sashimi. The Japanese sushi chef carved some mean sushi served on well-seasoned rice but the serving was small for $40 and came with only 1 miso soup which the waiter did not inform my party of 4. In contrast, all the other dishes were huge, especially for a Japanese restaurant. The eggplant with miso sauce was tender and tasty, the soft shell crab was served with a garlicky aioli, the pork gyoza were juicy and served with a ginger soy, the tempura vegetables had texture and variety and the edamame had a healthy sprinkling of rock salt. <br/><br/>A good wine list, cocktails and Phoenix organic sodas and juices topped it all off. Great food and worth the premium for the lovely surrounds, quality and quantity of the food and surrounds.
Stephen Sander
For me this place has become a Sydney institution. Few things are better than a late lunch on a sunny weekend looking over Bondi Beach enjoying excquisite sushi and other Japanese treats, great sake and a cool bottle of Japanese beer! The food is consistently excellent and NEVER disappoints!
Bianca
Best in bondi. I eat at raw bar at least once a week. It does not come cheap, but the quality of the sashimi is always fantastic, far better than other local sushi bars in the area.... and they serve organic wine!
Vegangela
Best Sushi in Bondi. This is a cozy little restaurant on the north side of Bondi. The food is pretty good, although a bit on the pricey side. The service is rather slow and we waited a good 20 minutes for our order to be taken (the restaurant was half-empty). My fiance ordered a tuna sashimi plate but when it arrived, it was mixed with salmon and other fish. He mentioned it to the waitress and she argued that he hadn't specified "tuna"... so much for the customer always being right! I had the nasu no dengaku (eggplant w/ miso) as well as the avocado/spinach roll and they were both very good. Overall, I'm sure we'll eat here again if we've craving sushi and in the Bondi area. It's definitely better than the other places in Bondi but there are still much better places that we enjoy when we're looking for willing to spend more money for good sushi and nice ambiance (Sushi-e, Kobe jones, etc).
