Very good happy hour. $5 basic spirits + house wine/beer. $1 wings. Great to go after a beach day and enjoy being amongst lots of young travellers.
Just noticed The Bavarian is under same management as Munich Brahaus that we’ve ever visited before. We were here for chicken wings day last July, that we could buy 10cent each every purchase 1 Lt any drink and also I’d participated in ghost pepper challenge as well. For drink we just bought 1L coke ($5 at happy hour) and mango beer ($13), then for food we ordered 20pcs chicken wings and platter for one ($34.5) which included sausages, pork belly, snitchzel, mashed potato and sauerkraut. All the food on my platter was good except the pork belly, they cooked too overdone so I couldnt enjoy the crackling. Even I wasnt win the challenge but very satisfied, good deals for the wings and taste nice too.
We ordered Chicken Burger and fish and chips at this wonderful place.
The energy this place has even in the day is soo good.
We stayed for almost two hours, played foosball, had a real good time.
Food+ambience+staff =perfect happy place to be
The happy hour here is the best in Bondi. $5 for half liter pints. Food is also nice, it is pub grub so nothing fancy but done well. The only thing that was over priced was the pool table $50 to hire the pool table was a bit much.
We just had some snacks here which were very good. Very cheerful service!!!
They serve the best sauce in Bondi I think. So buttery, creamy yet so light. I could slurp gallons!
we stayed on bondi beach for our trip to sydney and went to this place twice in one week. very friendly staff. great atmosphere, we enjoyed the foosball table and the pool table and many board game options that they had. we didnt try the food unfortunately but the mulled wine was delicious and lots of options if beer. will definitely come back.
One of the cafes i visit when i go to bondi beach.good beers, good food and chill staff. it can be very busy and food gets delivered slowly, but manageable. price is descent and ambience is good.
Huge selection of beers on tap - was gold.... and if you eat nothing else - you have to try the chicken wings - so yummy an instant dan..... 👍👍
Nice and quiet at lunch time on a weekday. I had the make it yourself wrap. Lots of delicious and interesting ingredients that you can choose to add. Nice and filling. Decent value considering the location.
After a nice walk at bondi beach, we hopped across this is busy branch. They have seating indoors and outdoors. It was very busy so we didn't have a choice and was seated outside amongst the hustle and bustle. We didn't mind since it was a nice day :) We got a salad and the pork knuckle which was definitely enough to share between two - plus drinks of course.
Staff were nice but not so attentive but maybe it was just this time because they were busy.
I would probably eat here again but tbh, on a nice day, I might opt for take way fish and chips on the beac instead! :p
After a hot day at the beach there's nothing like having some cold beers to cool down. Lucky for us we didn't have to go far, it was just across the road. They have so many varieties of beers to suit everyone's taste. I did find it a little smelly in there though.
After a 7 km exotic walk from Coogee to Bondi , we were thirsty and hungry and found this perfect place . Lot of designer/ craft beer on menu with a Bavarian/ German twist. From dark /bitter to light: wheat based - all types of beer were available .distinct taste of added spices were quite evident in each of the beer we tried . For food - surprisingly - I found vegetarian options - from 3 flavor chips (accompanied by dips in 3 flavors - chili/ garlic and. Parmesan) as starter to main course of salad. My friends had some pork base dish and they seem to liked it too. Service was great and the settings ( beach front) is just perfect for a relaxed time , after a swim/ surf of walk . Portion size was huge ( can be share easily ) . Go for it - I am sure I will find the CBD location of this Chain and try different variety of bier .
Walked along the streets of Bondi Beach throughout the afternoon and decided to settled in at Bavarian Bier Café for dinner. As usual, we love to share our mains half and half most of the time. Beef Burger, 10AUD Bavarian Bier Café has daily specials weekly. For Thursdays of this month, its 10AUD Beef Burgers or Snitzchel Burger. Since we already have a piece of snitzchel in our starting platter, we chose the beef. Oh my we don't regret our choice. The beef steak was done in Medium tenderness. When bitten, the meat within was still pinkish and it tasted like heaven. Tasting Platter, 29AUD There's Schnitzel, three various German Sausages, a slice of Pork Knuckle with Apple Compote , Mashed Potatoes, Pan Fried Potatoes and some beetroot. The star element for this platter goes to the Pork Knuckle. I feel like my cholesterol rate increased by a mile but it was all so so so worth it. Paulaner Premium Pils, 11AUD (500ml) Jan said that beers are best drank when you have German food to go alo
Not sure if I mentioned this on my other blog but 365 friend did, so basically the two of us have lots and lots of love for ice-cream (platonically). We both frequent browse for groupons and luckily she found a deal for Movenpick in Bondi and yes it was actually worth it unlike the overpriced ZenQ snow ice groupon. Last week was mid-semester break i.e. the perfect time to go Bondi because day light savings was still on. Originally it was meant to be a group outing but they never turn out all that well so only my gay lover could attend. Took us a while but we settled on eating here, I guess what affirmed our decision is the Tuesday Challenge that was on. My Tuesday Challenge Gay lover who is very hands on when it comes to eating and see those fries on her plate, some of them were mine >> My empty plate (: and truth be told, I did finish the schnitzel myself Deciding our schnapps, we're so glad that 365 friend is of age Unfortunately she had to suffer a rather embarrassing moment t
Good Beer. A decent schnitzel and a garden salad. Maybe a little overpriced, but service was good from appropriately dressed staff, and the location can't be beat. But the main attraction is the fine range of german beers. Recommend this place more for a drink than a meal
The beer is great and the staff even better. Very attentive and friendly. However, this place is truly German and the only vegetarian options, other than a salad, are a pretzel or chips. Must see if you're an avid beer drinker :)
Great place,friendly staff.
Happy hour (5-7pm) is so worth all money! Amazing $10 cocktails and $7.5 for half a litre of draught beer. I recommend the first draught beer on the menu, light and not too dry. Amazing
A trendier beer cafe one does bot find in Sydney. Food ranges from inexpensive large salads to hearty Bavarian food for low 20 range. Wash it down with a classic German beer or even be daring and try the delicious wheat light ale with a touch of limonata (lemon). Ambience of this place on a Sunday afternoon is relaxed, semi-sophisticated with an urban edge. Enjoy!
I'm not a big beer fan but the lovely waitress recommended something great for me. the food is beautiful. the sampler is a good way to go.
Pumpkin Soup. This pumpkin soup very rich and tasty. The pumpking did not overpower the soup, which contained creme fraiche.
Giant Pork Schnitzel. It was good! Lean and not greasy. Way too big for me to finish though.
Great food, mostly meat pork belly, beef, sausages and a few non-Bavarian dishes on the menu. Cheeky Beef was delicious- beef melts in your mouth as promised on the menu. Friendly enough service, although they are constantly trying to upsell.
Fantastic addition to Bondi Beach! Attentive and friendly service, great food and fantastic beer selection! The mixed platter and the giant pork schnitzel are each a must! It's like Oktoberfest by the sea, any day of the week :-)
