Review Xs Espresso Bondi - Bondi

Great Coffee, Extremely nice staff. We came at my wife's birthday and they didn't disappoint!! They even gave my wife a free coffee ☕. We liked their dessert but most importantly, their staff!! I really recommend this place and we would visit again soon.

XS Espresso is a great destination venue located close to Bondi Beach. Modern decor and a very well fitted out venue which is great for people watching if you sit outside. Service was friendly and the food we ordered came out quickly, and as you can see the presentation is exceptional; we had people stopping in the footpath looking at all the food we had. Fresh fruit garnished all the dishes and everything tasted great, my favourite was the house made ricotta hotcake! As much as the sweet and sugary dishes here are flamboyant and delicious, you can definitely satisfy your savoury needs here too. Great venue to share meals with friends and genuinely enjoy your dining experience. We headed to the beach for a nice walk which was a great way to end our afternoon at Bondi.

XS Espresso is the kind of place where you seriously won’t know what to choose from the menu because everything looks so damn good! 😋 We tried a little bit of everything (Açai bowl, Breakfast burger, XS ricotta hotcakes, Next level waffles, Bondi Breeze juice and Volcano XS Shake) and were delighted by how tasty it was! The ambiance is great and service is quick even on busy Sunday mornings. Now I can’t wait to go back and try their lunch dishes as well ❤️

Just had an amazing breakfast here at XS Espresso Bondi! We experienced excellent service from Derrick and the rest of the team and felt like we were extremely welcome. Will definitely come again!

The food here is not only pretty but tasty!! Prawns not that fresh but still alright.. tap water has strawberry and orange in it which made is nice too! love the decor and environment around the place. Not much view to watch but still a good place to chill at.. staff is friendly so service deserves a thumbs up!

For the best cheat day destination on the east side of Sydney, look no further than XS Espresso. For the healthy folk amongst us, sure they have smashed avo on toast, an açai bowl, or a quinoa nourish bowl as well as cold pressed juices....But, why would you with the siren call of shakes, crepes, waffles and pancakes? On the savoury front, there’s pizza, pasta, burgers, fried chicken and loaded fries. The signature XS Espresso shakes have to be tried to be believed. The original cronut is a salted caramel shake with Oreo, Tim Tam and Belgian chocolate blended throughout, and topped with a cronut filled with Kit Kats, M&Ms, wafer sticks, Maltesers and Caramello koala, and these are desserts in their own right. Great flavours and contrast of textures made the Chicken and Waffle a standout dish; crispy buttermilk fried chicken is perched on a sweet waffle, and served with a creamy slaw and crispy sweet potato tendrils. The Two in One does double duty as a dessert with a warm, chocolate soufflé on a waffle, and garnishes that transform it into a feast for the eyes. Dine al fresco or take a seat inside. A stylish interior features white vertical cladded walls and bentwood chairs, grey replica marble round table tops and black banquette seating along the entire length of one side of the cafe. It’s contemporary, welcoming and distinctively beachside. There truly is an excess of delights at XS Espresso so indulge and enjoy the experience!

Ive ordered from this place a lot and never had an issue, maybe the bacon was slightly crispy but other than that the food was usually good. Which is why i was completely shocked and disgusted when i received my breakfast burger today. It was cooked with a fly in it and some how nobody noticed it.. When i opened the box it was the first thing i could see. Very disappointed.

The strawberry tart was very hard, tasteless. My soy cappuccino was not good; the milk was very thick (almost creamy). My husband liked it espresso though We’re not going back.

nice place and yummy food but they have never once got my order correct and there staff are very unhelpful. i often order the acai bowl as its delicious but am strictly allergic to kiwi fruit, i tell the staff member whilst ordering and overtime without fail when i receive my food it has kiwi fruit. i then have to argue to get a replacement made that hasn't touched kiwi fruit and wait again which is very inconvenient especially when I'm with multiple people and they all finish their food and mine hasn't arrived. the last time i went the staff member who served me a acai bowl with kiwi fruit on it was arguing with me and offered to just take it off and serve it to me, it took multiple times of explaining that I'm allergic and cannot eat it ! 15 minutes of more later my replacement arrived (even tho there was only 2 other couples at the restaurant ) but all my friends had finished there meals so i wasn't impressed at all! please improve on your customer service and listening to customer requests!

I came here to eat with high expectations and it is safe to say they were shot to hell when our food took 45 minutes to come out. The food looked nice but it did not taste nice. Everything on our plate was cold. Not lukewarm - cold. The service was also bad. Overall, it was a horrible experience and if I could rate this zero stars I would.

We used to come here quite often, but our latest visit will be our last. Initial service was good and then went downhill quite quickly. Our food arrived but we had no cutlery. When we asked for some we were told there was none left and that they were polishing them so we agreed to wait. Fifteen minutes later and still no cutlery with food gone cold...one guy was super apolegetic and polite which was nice. Our main waitress was rude and just dumped the cutlery down on our table with no apology. When we left we were greeted with a sleet of stares. All because we wanted cutlery...also pray for your soul if you end up placed on the second floor. That's where they place the rowdy families and loud children. Not coming back and wouldn't recommend unless they change their attitude and train their staff in some customer service and etiquette.

Had my 40th over the weekend on the upstairs level. Service was beyond amazing, the waitresses attending to our every need & beyond. The food from entrees to mains & top it off with the desserts were absolutely without question on point & tasted great, size portions were perfect The ladies loved the atmosphere & ambiance of the place. Highly recommended to all we will definately be back 5*****

Living in the Illawarra area I get to explore a lot of cafes and the their customer service. So when a friend of mine decided to meet for brunch at this specific cafe I was delighted as I thought it would be an amazing experience to see how things are done in that area. However I was surprise on the way their staff treated customers. They had no customers skills, they were over staffed for a tidy place specially at 10:30, the wait to get our food took about 40 minutes. I had my little brother with me and he was not happy at all as he ordered a simple banana bread which took longer than the omelet that I ordered. For a place that depends highly on customers they failed. Their cutlery was not cleaned at all, tables not wiped out for the next lot of customers. I was just amazed at how this place been a popular place has the most horrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend this cafe to any of my friends as it's a waste. Why would someone travel so far to be treated with disrespect and witness others get treated the same way. Ps. The food was great but I wouldn't come back due to their customer service!

We just want to say a big thank you to best cafe ever xsespresso for making our daughters First Holy Communion Brunch such a beautiful day. Everything was so perfect the food, the staff especially the Coffees . Special thank you to Samantha and Manager Joe. You guys are amazing 10/10

Third time was a charm, I had to wait half an hour for a takeaway coffee. Last two times the same thing, so I’m done! Baristas (there’s two of them and still takes ages!!) just having a chat the whole time, and when you ask how long it’s going to be they give you the stink eye. Easy up turbo, you’re working a coffee machine, not running the country. You just get the impression no one gives a shit - the cafe is super busy and they’re probably doing well, but that’s only because of the lack of competition.

Amazing... good food, service was good. A little surprised at the price for what I asked for, but when the food arrived I was not dissapointed. The food was fresh and hot, and the presentation amazing. Good value for money... well done guys and girls👍

Food was prompt & yum; great quantity; however what is with the waitresses making it so obvious from the moment you approach the cafe they absolutely hate their jobs. I hope the owners read these reviews and investigate as you can see some real efforts gone into this place; a shame the waitresses are letting it down. Won't recommend to friends and family hope things change

Amazing restaurant, great food, great vibe. Great customer service from Jayden. would recommend

Rude female staff. Was unpleasant from the start and kept telling us we didn’t pay for a coffee we were waiting on that I ordered. Ps. It was in our receipt.

Visited today with a friend, we ordered at the counter then took a seat. Our drink came out quickly (Nutella shake) it tasted like a regular chocolate milkshake made with topping no Nutella to be found. Shortly after my Acai bowl came out which was great. Then everything went down hill! My friend ordered the French toast, we ordered in the same transaction and were left waiting. It got to 25mins since I received mine when my friend waved down the waitress to see what was happening. She went over to the chefs and enquires and came straight back to say it was on its way. Another 15 minutes and it finally came out. The chef brought it over and when we asked him why it took so long apparently it's my fault I didn't tell your cashier we'd like them served together. How does French toast take over 30minutes! I understand cafes get busy but when I know people that ordered after us have gotten there food and eaten before we had both our meals is ridiculous. Both items tasted nice but honestly the attitude and wait will have us questioning wether to go back to one of our favourite spots.

Service wasnt the best.I went with my family and we all ordered a dessert and when my husband and two daughters finished their dessert they finally bought mine late and my churros was burnt.Wasnt impressed. Also had to ask for cuttlery as they shouldve had it there on our table.Sevice is crap.

Staff are friendly enough, however, the wait time is incredibly long, and the food is mediocre at best.

Under new management.
Came in the afternoon for coffee, and I have mini salted caramel gaytime cronut and piccolo.
Cronut were dense, a little too heavy for me.
Coffee are powered by Campos, but somehow I don’t really like mine.
Service was ok

Do not support this business. Management is racist and fired a man because of the colour of his skin.
Shoaib Mughal
Suggest you do a Google on this place. Openly racist management. They should be shut down. Businesses like this shouldn't be able to operate.
Isabella M
This cafe fired an employee purely on the basis of their race (was definitely not due to amazing cappuccinos). They should be ashamed of their management.
Sana Sugar
It is not okay for you to fire someone for the colour of their skin! So how deep rooted is your racism. Are other shades of brown safe or are you racist towards absolutely anyone that is not white.
Can you please explain how you think letting go off a member of staff for being black is justified?
Can you explain why you are racist?

I enjoyed my prawn noodles and my partner enjoyed his avocado pasta. The churros with melted chocolate, vanilla ice-cream, strawberries and banana was nice. However, bananas were too raw to eat. The vanilla ice-cream sandwich milkshake was nice if you have a sweet tooth. I personally found it too sweet and thick.
Would recommend and come back to try other dishes.
Nicole Chretien
Large eccentric menu, lots of options for those sweet tooth’s out there! Açai smoothie was v tasty, and I enjoyed my meal. V filling and good size meals.

XS Espresso is one of those cafes that you visit with anticipation. For starters, you would have seen photos of their food and drinks gone viral on social media; then you would contemplate the best time to visit as they open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. . The breakfast menu looked so inviting even though it was already past lunch time. Truffle Benedict sounded divine and it lived up to the expectation. It was just the right about of sauce and the aroma from truffle was irresistible.
MizTea_SydneyFoodCritiX
i was surprised how terrible the coffee was. Milk was lukewarm. couldn't drink it. Was extremely disappointed that we made our way to this location and for it to be bad.
The prestons and Whethrill park cafes have been good.

Awesome location right on the top of Hall street with an outdoor sitting area, inside seating and overall a lot of space. I've had the halloumi bowl, pancakes and also tried the shakes. If you love a sweet treat you will find your dessert heaven.

Went here for dinner and it was lovely! I’m particularly amazed with their shakes. Very uniquely presented and tastes delicious as well. Not to mention their pasta 😋 I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for some good place to chill.
The Next Rush
It’s a Western Sydney institution that has captivated dessert porn lovers with its indulgent fudges, oversized serves and sensationally stacked waffles and milkshakes! Roky Gorgees is the first of the franchise to bring it out East at its newest location at Bondi Beach. Will it work?

This place was surprisingly comfortable to sit down and eat (to put into contact - cafes in the Bondi area are notoriously bad for cramped, crowded seating). The ordering process was frustrating. Order at the counter and grab a number. The room is quite narrow so I was bumped quite a lot by passers by, while I was waiting to order. The food was delicious (see below images), and came out surprisingly fast. The shakes are creatively prepared. The food was fresh and hot, however we suspect the pancakes and waffles are pre-made as they were already showing their age. They do not charge a merchants fee for credit card purchases. All in all it is a good place to eat.

Came for the freak shakes but left with a new cafe favourite.

Great range of sweet and savoury dishes including French Kiss, Belgium Soufflé, Shakshuka and the signature XS Stack. Super impressed by the fact that they nail such a broad spectrum of dishes and have the time to create epic drinks like the Pistachio Shake and Berry Blast Juice pictured below.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

My thanks to XS Espresso Bondi and CPM Online Marketing Agency for the invite.

This place is seriously my idea of heaven and I’m so flippin excited there’s an XS in bondi now. The menu of indulgent goodness is guaranteed to satisfy on so many levels. The standout for me were the chicken & waffles which were AMAZZZZING. Juicy chicken in crispy batter with the lightly cinnamon waffle is all tied together so bloody well by the cheesy sauce oh my lord. The four cheese gnocchi is also fab and of couuuurse you can’t go wrong with the massive desserts.

Oh man!! This place is the Mecca for dessert lovers !! I spent close to 20mins just deciding which dessert to go for, as each one of them sounded more delicious and sinful than the other..I enjoyed my time here and will definitely come back!
Ps I still can’t decide my favourite dessert here ( which I think is a good problem to have ;))
Kimberley Jane
Amazing food around the board! Their signature ricotta hot cake and signature avocado on toast were great however the standout is definitely their legendary shakes! Feeling indulgent? Definitely give it a try! Aesthetically pleasing, tasty and walking distance to bondi beach. What more do you want?

This is the place to be for crazy desserts and amazing shakes. Very photogenic and insta worthy! The prawn pasta was one of my favourite dishes

Best milkshakes and delicious food! Loved the fresh toast, muesli bowl, and the prawn Linguini. The creative milkshakes are perfect for a sweet tooth. The Bondi location is great as it’s right next to the beach!

The most beautiful shakes and dessert in Bondi that i ever had!! I love their decoration, love the food and the service is great! The taste also perfect! would be back here again😍😍

Outstanding service, great ambiance and of course, delicious and creative dishes! XS Espresso Bondi Beach is the perfect definition of #BrunchGoals ! We tried to keep it balanced with some fresh Acai Bowl but couldn't resist the amazing Breakfast Burger, Next Level Waffles and my favourite, the XS Ricotta Hotcakes. You seriously need to try them next time you're there!
We also shared a tropical Bondi Breeze juice and a super tasty Volcano XS Shake. Perfect for all the chocolate lovers like myself!

I can’t explain how many times I’ve dined here but now that I know there’s one now open at Bondi I had to get the beach vibe with my favourite dishes. The shakes, the meals. It’s family friendly which I love.

On a sunny Saturday morning, we travelled to Bondi Beach in search of some incredible brunch fare from XS Espresso! We had previously tried their amazing freakshakes and food options at their Parramatta and Weatherill Park locations, and were excited to see them open up a new location in the East. We started with two of their freshly squeezed juices – both delicious, fresh and full of flavour and healthy goodness, and a great way to start the meal! We then selected our food – we had the XS Stack, the XS Ricotta Hotcake (two of their Signature dishes) and the Shakshuka.

Definitely the place to go if you have a sweet tooth! We tried the American loaded fries, the Fluffy Nutter Double Waffles, the Next Level Waffles and the Monster and Volcano shakes. The presentation of the food was next level and it tasted as good as it looked.

Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had...
Lost my order and not even an apology... Finally got my order and the food was average...Staff are rude... Wouldn't ever return...
Good selection on the menu for breakfast, lunch and definitely dessert. The dishes were beautifully presented and were very tasty. Save room for a treat, especially one of their signature milkshakes. They are picture perfect 👌 not too sweet and worth enjoying.

XS Espresso, that cafe Insta-famous for its flamboyant, over-the-top freak shakes has made its first foray into the eastern suburbs with a new location opening three weeks ago at Bondi Beach. It’s a clean, contemporary space with the nice addition of greenery, including some love fiddle leaf plants. The coffee is great and the cheeseburger fries are addictive!
