Review Milky Lane - Bondi

Pauline Morez
Amazing experience in this place (incredible burger and milkshakes), we were not disappointed by the $45 menu. The waiter was very accommodating for our order and very nice.

Delicious burgers, great shakes, and a solid sides - their loaded fries and mac and cheese croquettes are great! If you're looking for a good place to have a cheat meal at, go here and order their cheat platter with the Big Poppa burger. How can you say no to such a beast of a burger?!

Very loud music, average food and a bit pricier than expected. I think it's a bit over hyped, the burgers were both a bit dry. I got the brisket burger and it was very sweet, I could only taste onion and lost the flavor of the beef. Popcorn chicken is bad thigh cuts, the salt on them was good which made up for the gravy having no flavor. The sweet potato fries were definitely worth getting, if they weren't burnt.

4.5 Rating. Food was great, DJ last night was fresh and exciting created a awesome vibe for my friends bday. Only let down was table service was a little slow (about 15 minutes) to get an order; otherwise chip Churros loaded was delicious and the Chic-kayne burger was delicious. The Maxibon ice cream was also good yet the coffee flavoured ice cream inside was too rich personally among a few of us. Can do with a bit more refining. Otherwise awesome place!!

Very modern gourmet Burgers, Perfect place to go with friends.!Don’t ask to change the burgers is on the menu so not for the picky person. And if you don’t like sauce this is probably not for you! The famous art work wall indoors is very iconic, Perfect place for photos! Very nice owner and staff here and the best part of all, it’s dog friendly. We love Milky Lane

Came to Bondi just for Milky Lane and had it two nights in a row - certainly did not disappoint. The food is INCREDIBLE, the staff is lovely and the venue has a super cool vibe. Everything was so so delicious, the Kevin Bacon burger was the best burger we ever had - so juicy and flavourful. The popcorn chicken is amazing and the creme egg/biscoff springrolls were absolutely out if this world. Oh and don’t get us started on the shakes / signature cocktails. Loved it and can‘t wait for our next ML visit!!

great staff, tasty food. some regret later as this is pretty indulgent, over the top, feel good food but worth it at the time.... ordered the milky lane and chicken burgers. mac and cheese croquettes and loaded fries.... beers on tap

Great burger & bar! Delicious burgers, excellent service, chilled vibe and you even get DJ on Friday nights! The sangria pot looks amazing. Totally a fun place to hang.

Ok....<br/>$19 for crispy southern chicken burger, with no side of chips was damn expensive, but you know what? It’s damn worth it!<br/><br/>One of the best burger I’ve try recently.<br/>Those maple smoked bacon was so good, plus Carolina slaw, and pineapple relish was delicious! And double portion of American cheese also included!<br/><br/>Chips was crunchy, not double fried, which i like, soft fluffy inside yet crispy on the outside without extra greasiness from cooking oil is a plus bonus!<br/><br/><br/><br/>

Staff were awesome to deal with. I’ll be sure to visit the Newstead store more now.

Ridiculous service! Waited 20 minutes upon arrival before even being acknowledged by staff. Took another 30 minutes for ONE burger & share cockail to come out even though there were two other customers in the store. Workers take advantage of drunk customers & overcharged us $15 which we realised the next morning. Avoid at all costs!! Rude & lazy workers, really a bad reputation for the once famous Milky Lane. Absolutely appauling go eat at ANY other place in Bondi

Awesome food, lacking polish.<br/><br/>Came in at 8:15 ish on a Thursday night, nice and quiet. Staff was really friendly, patient and had that "human" sense (ie they didn't seem stiff or forcing a smile). I noticed a few table with leftover food, wrappers and drinks and our table was a little sticky.<br/><br/>I ordered the Limp Brisket, popcorn chicken and my friends ordered chicken burgers and some sweet potatoe fries. Sides came quick, main followed 10 mins later.<br/><br/>The flavors are awesome. I'm a big guy so I smashed my burger down and felt a little full but the slower eaters were able to eat theirs. The chip dips and the burger sauces were great as well.<br/><br/>It was only after we were finishing the the tables were cleaned up, about an hour after.<br/>If that could be sorted out, I reckon this place would a dope place to hang and have some awesome burgers.

Really good burger, nice chips with different toppings and sauces. Great milkshakes. Beautiful and comfortable space with a friendly staff. Just come and check yourself. A tip: not only the burger worth, try the beef brisket sandwich. And just to keep in mind: burgers look bigger in the photo.

this beef brisket burger in the heart of Bondi definitely eased the pain of the cold 😉 tender brisket falls apart in your mouth accompanied by crunchy onion rings and slaw 😍 easily one of the better burger joints out there! 8/10 for coin, portion and flavour🗳 have to mention the salted Carmel shake ✊

Craving a nice burger brought me here, it’s located not far from Bondi beach. I opted Cheating Platter for $45 to share with my husband cause i was sure i couldnt eat them all. This platter already include a thickshake which is good value for money. For burger we opted chick kanye, it was burger with southern fried chicken, cheese and bacon. The chooks was juicy, crispy and well seasoned. It also included bacon cheese fries (yummo!), mac&cheese ball (yummo!), pop corn chicken (a bit salty for my liking) and 2 dipping sauce; mustard aioli and cheese. Strawberry thick sake was okay, i’m not really fan of milk shake btw and it too much whipped cream on it.

I'm not sure what's the hype about. Way over priced and actually not as good of a burger. Only look good for photos. Was pretty disappointed. Drinks are overly sweet. Would not come back.

Toppings could have been more generous, shallots were almost nonexistent. Gravy was really good but could have tasted even better with more layers from the toppings. Sweet Potato Fries with Coconut Aioli. I personally did not like the match of coconut aioli with the sweet potato fries. Also, were on the soggier side which was unfortunate.Beer Battered Onion Rings with Milky Lane Special Sauce

IG Blogger: @sexual_tongue<br/>Food Place: @milkylaneofficial<br/>IG Patrons: @lyrad_lauxes, @lyen_jd<br/><br/>My Order: <br/>- Fried Chicken Weezy Burger <br/>- Kevin Bacon Burger Milky Cheat Plate<br/>- Bubblegum Shake<br/><br/>Calorie Overload! It is definitely not for the health conscious but for the Fun Conscious! I went all out and ordered the ‘CHEAT PLATE’ which I struggled but managed to finish as well as my milkshake! I am one big fat slob! I also finished a 2-hour walk on an empty stomach beforehand so I was super hungry. <br/><br/>This place is a once-in-a-while type of restaurant or a show-your-tourist-friends-that-Sydney-is-cool type of place! Haha! Next time I come here I will explore more of their menu! <br/><br/>A Bondi Iconic Spot!
Rachael
Dirty tables, cutlery and cups. The milkshakes are completely overrated tasted completely artificial filled with cream to make more profit for them. No real ice cream of milk flavour <br/>Extremely disappointed
Mzlanah
Not really sure what the hype is all about to be honest. The staff are not attentive at all and you almost have to chase them down in order to place your order. The burgers were quite average for the price they charge. Not sure I’ll be back.
Gabrielle
Went there with a friend, loved the place and the people there, the burgers were amazing, even though the presentation was simple, the taste of it was delicious! Would definitely come back

Great food and atmosphere at Milky lane! They have a great variety of creative burgers and sides. The bacon Mac and cheese croquettes were amazing, one of the best Mac and cheese croquettes I’ve ever tried. The bacon bits in the loaded fries were fresh and juicy which made it super tasty. The Mi Goreng loaded fries were even better with a fried egg on top! Definitely will be back for the sharetails and sides!

What’s not to love here, music, vibe, layout, food, drinks and anything I haven’t mentioned. This place knows how to put on a good time for you

Nice restaurant for a quick grub. The burgers are great. Juicy and succulent. Ingredients were fresh. The brisket burger was lovely, the brisket was so tender.. The sweet potato fries were nice. The portion sizes are way to sufficient for a single eater..
Johnmekhail93
Not worth the hype, we ordered were fries on a day that wasn’t that busy, but waited over 20 minutes for our order. Make sure you know someone before coming here if you want half decent service
Renae Kleef
I had heard great things about this place.<br/>We had to wait in a queue for a table for about 15/20 minutes as this place is crazy busy. The first thing we noticed is how understaffed it was, there was one main waiter running around. Although he did a good job, it was a lot of pressure on him and really impacted the overall service.<br/><br/>Once seated, we waited almost an hour for our food and then didn’t even end up receiving one of the sides. <br/>Thankfully, our burgers and sweet potato fries were absolutely delicious.<br/><br/>Honestly, you should really go here and try it, but I probably won’t go back purely because of the wait time and price when I feel like I could go near by and get something very similar in a timely manner. <br/>I am glad I got to experience it though!
Excuse Me Waiter
The neon lights and beats at Milky Lane were pumping when we headed in on a warm spring day, full of keen visitors to Bondi Beach. We liked the eclectic vibe of the place as we settle into our diner booth to look at their menu of burgers for lunch. The Fried Chicken Weezy was an easy pick and featured a crispy Southern fried chicken that was juicy on the inside and delicious on the outside, some tasty double American cheese, diced onions, mayo and Milky Lane cheese gravy all on a soft milk bun – this burger was the bomb, especially since we jazzed it up with some extra onion rings on the inside too.
Mariah Gonzalez
Pros: really good tasting food! It’s a must eat! I really suggest getting the cheat platter which is $45! It is worth the pay as you get so much and leaves you feeling fullfilled! <br/>Cons: long wait for the food!!! Got a bit hangry! Though drinks did come at a good time! <br/>
Every Crumb
Milky Lane is known for their crazy social media posts that just blow up online! They don’t disappoint in person either. The burgers were big, meaty, and full of flavour. A range of sides are sure to please anyone.<br/><br/>Monthly specials are great to keep things interesting. The cherry ripe cocktail definitely got some great feedback.<br/><br/>ML is one of those places where you’re bound to have a great time. There’s music pumping, drinks flowing, and crazy food to devour
Josie
sooo so so worth the hype! the food + the amazing decor and design of the place all makes up for it. Their burgers are INSANE and such a hunger tamer. Definitely one of my fav places to hit up!

So disappointed. I went to the milky lane with my Bf and the service was rude because we didn't have a reservation and they didn't want to deal with us even though they had heaps of spots free, but we were finally seated on such an uncomfortable table.<br/>We waited over an hour for our food and when it arrived my burger "milky lane" was so cold, the meat patty and cheese were ridiculously cold for such a long wait I thought that was unexpectedable. My Bf ordered the "baby got mac aka cheezey E burger. The mac & cheese "buns" were overly dry to eat as well as super greasy. I know from foods like these it comes with grease but this was next level.<br/>The only best thing was the loaded fries, the bacon was burnt but move that aside and it's all good.<br/>Over all the food was a bit expensive especially with the poor quality.

This place has been on my bucket list for ages as I’ve seen so many reviews and photos of this place. <br/><br/>Wasn’t too busy on a Thursday night so there was plenty of seating available. Service was friendly and a wide diversity of delicious menu options to choose from. Food was delicious and very filling! Next time I come here i’ll definitely try out the cocktails since I’ve heard so many good reviews on them!😍<br/><br/>Food recommendation: popcorn chicken❣️

I had the pleasure of dining in at Milky Lane in late 2017, these burgers, shakes and fries surely are the best in the country. Such a fantastic venue with incredible staff. I seriously can't fault this place.

The lack of @milkylaneofficial in my life has finally been rectified... and I’m so glad it lived up to my expectations.<br/>Naturally I went all-out, got the Big Poppa as part of their cheat platter accompanied with loaded fries, mac & cheese croquettes and popcorn chicken - flavour country! There’s a lot going on in the burger but that’s to be expected when you have beef, brisket, bacon, mac & cheese patty and onion rings *all* part of this- the brisket in particular was sensational, melt in your mouth goodness.<br/>There hasn’t been much notice about the latest #megashake offering from @milkylaneofficial but it definitely deserves some love. 😍🤗<br/>What we have here is the “choc caramel popcorn” shake with whipped cream, popcorn (obvs) and topped with a caramel slice. <br/>DEEEEEEE-LICIOUS!<br/>You can never go wrong with a choc + caramel combo, plus with caramel slice added to the equation then it gets 9 thumbs up from me. 👍🏻<br/>#shakes #cheatmeal #foodcoma #milkylane<br/>#burgers #sundayfunday

Staff were polite and attentive, food came relatively quickly considering how busy it was. I felt like I was going to die after all the food, but it was definitely worth it!

You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family ... or in this case where your family chooses to eat. This is another one of those American joints that specialise in heart attack specials - great big burgers oozing with cheese and sauce accompanied by deep fried everything. It was ok as these places go, kinda noisy but that goes with the territory. Pop corn chicken was the stand out in a mediocre bunch.
Ninetyeight
A funky burger joint featuring dishes that would be absolute heaven to a drunk person. We ordered the cheat dish to share between 2 people which I’d definitely recommend. At $45 you get a burger as well as 3 different sides and a thickshake. The Big Poppa was juicyyy with a great combination of flavours. The loaded fries were done well without being too soggy, yet still generous with the toppings. The Mac&Cheese croquettes were ok - I felt like they could have been more cheesy as it seemed to be quite tasteless without the sauce. The popcorn chicken was spectacular - delicious and moist with a good meat to batter ratio. <br/>The thickshake was very rich and tasted like melted icecream - way too sweet for me. Overall it was an absolute feast and we barely just finished everything between the two of us.<br/><br/>Definitely a great place to hit up on your cheat day 😉

Had a great time here, great music, music and burgers! Only reason it's not a full 5 rating is because the milkshake was a bit of a let down in comparison. Definitely worth a try if you're in Bondi!
Lindsay
Service was slow and food is average. You can get better burgers etc elsewhere. We were served frozen Mac and cheese balls and waited ages for food and drinks. I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t return. Only positive is it is a cool venue

Ordered the chickanye burger and sweet potato chips with coconut aioli. The burger was really good and the portion was realllly big and delicious!! Coconut aioli was my favourite sauce ever!! Chips were nice too, walked away really full and about to burst haha. Only problem was that the frozen rekorderlig that I asked for wasn’t available as the machines were broken :(

What i ordered:<br/>The Drake burger<br/>Banana cinnamon waffle <br/>Mac and cheese croquettes <br/>Tequila <br/> <br/>Taste-4/5 ( Must try waffle)<br/>Ambience-5/5 ( Graffiti bondi feels)<br/>Value for money- 4.5/5<br/>Service-5/5 (Quick and frank staff)

Awesome artwork, cool design and layout of the bar.<br/><br/>For food we ordered the <br/>- milky lane burger (classic beef burger but it’s wagyu so even better!!)<br/>- the lil weezy ( similar to milky lane but it has gravy and a mustard sauce but I preferred the milky lane special sauce)<br/>- the drake (veg): actually one of the nicest vege burgers I’ve had, the burger was so flavourful. The mushroom compliments the beetroot and pumpkin pattie nicely<br/>- Beer battered chips and sweet potato chips, the sauces are to die for! Coconut aioli! Chipotle aioli! The portion size for the chips are a little bigger than average so I would recommended sharing<br/><br/>For drinks <br/>- Rekorderlig strawberry & lime slushes are a nice, light and refreshing alcohol drink for a warm day. It taste the same as a rekorderlig but icy and it’s $12 so you might as well spend an extra $4-6 dollars for a cocktail <br/>- Bubblegum sour was a sweet cocktail and you can hardly taste the alcohol so that’s a plus

I visited the freshly minted Cronulla branch of Milky Lane this evening (no Zomato page for Cronulla at the time of this review). A friend and I arrived at 10:15pm (stated closing time is 11:00pm) after being turned away for arriving at 10:40pm last week. We were informed that the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes and that if we could order in time, we could stay. It was a little abrupt, but very hungry and weary from the days activities, we obliged. Shortly after we sat down, we were attended to several times and it was made very clear that we had to order immediately. I asked for a recommendation for my first time at Milky Lane and the waiter informed me that the "Kevin Bacon" was his pick. A little hefty at $23 with no sides but what the heck, treat yo self. My mate ordered the Chic-Kanye (a more palatable $19). <br/><br/>No joke, within a suspicious 5 minutes both burgers were in front of us. Initial vibes were positive, but shortly after, things took a sudden turn for the worse. <br/><br/>The "soft milk bun" was borderline stale and oily. Now I understand it to be common practice in the burger game nowadays to leave the middle of a patty a lil' rare. Just enough to keep it juicy. This beef patty was overcooked to a point I have never experienced at any restaurant. The bottom of each patty had a layer of crispy black char that added a terrible taste to the burger. The maple bacon, devoid of any maple essence, was equally burnt. And not the good kind of bacon burnt. The "you have left it on the grill too long and now it is charcoal" type burnt. Overall I would give a 2/10. <br/><br/>The burger alone, while terrible, I could find reason to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe ordering so late (though nowhere near the stipulated closing time) during their opening week was too big an ask. But the terrible service and blatant rudeness of the staff is inexcusable. We were clearly an inconvenience. From the time we arrived to the time the waitress asked a second time if she could clear our table mid-bite, to the bill being placed in front of us almost as a silent request to leave... was off putting to say the least. <br/><br/>I think the worst part was that my expectations were so high. The hype was real. The social media campaigning had worked. I was stoked for an above-average burger join to enter the average burger league that Cronulla offers. I was under no delusion that Milky Lane Cronulla would not contend with the likes of Bar Luca, Burgers by Josh, or Five Point... but part of me, some small part, quietly hoped that Milky Lane would be the catalyst for a better burger game in the Sutherland Shire. <br/><br/>Quite the opposite. If you are after a burger in the Shire, consider Sugar Raes, Burger Co, Jake Chalmers, or if you're in the immediate vicinity, keep on walking straight past Milky Lane and head to Eat Burger. <br/><br/>TLDR; Burger woeful, staff even worse. 2/10 experience - 7/10 bad vibes.
Emmo
Bad service, the waitress we had seemed rude and disinterested. This place is definitely overhyped. The burgers were overpriced for what they were. Mine came out cold and tasted bland, plus they forgot our drink order. Won’t be back in a hurry. Their burgers are so expensive for what you pay for. Probably because they pay z-grade celebrities to eat there.

We just sat down and we’re asked for our order before we had a chance to read the menu. After ordering service was slow. Milkshake thick. I liked it though. However I see it had been rejected by other customers. Young and hip workers. The cheat platter was enough to feed two people.
Tenya
Milky lane in Bondi beach is one of those hyped up places but definitely doesnt live up to it. The burgers were pretty average and way overpriced. I did enjoy the loaded fries but I wouldn’t go there again.

Went here on my gf's birthday weekend in bondi. After a big night all i needed was something juicy :) I got the kevin bacon burger and the "coors" beer tower, did just the trick burger was very tasty and beer went down a treat!!
Jasad
The Milky Lane burgers we ordered were quite nice as well as the loaded sweet potato fries. What brought it down for me was the service. It took a while for us to get a seat and when we finally did we were moved about 15 mins later for a bigger group. When we were ordering the waitress appeared disinterested and when we asked what she recommended she gave us a disgusted look and said "everything". There was not a friendly atmosphere and music was being blasted the whole time which would have been fine had it not been so loud. Props to them for the mural of rappers though, that was pretty g

I guess my expectations for this place were just too high, as I've heard some positive feedback from my colleagues. <br/><br/>=== Pros<br/><br/>1. Serving time was unexpectedly quick (8-10 mins -> fries, +8-10mins -> burgers)<br/>2. I really enjoyed the fries with smokey maple syrup <br/><br/>=== Cons<br/><br/>[Service] <br/><br/>1. Staff is too indifferent and personally I didn't enjoy service here. They didn't notice us seating and waiting for so after 5 minutes of waiting I had to go and look for a hostess ====myself.  There was even no forks for the loaded fries and the burgers that we ordered. So as I said before, it is just the general feeling of homelessness the staff made us feel there.<br/><br/>[Food] <br/><br/>2. I had a huge expectations for their burgers. Mainly, the burgers is the only reasons why I decided to visit the place. Unfortunately, the burgers there only looks good. First thing that I noticed, is that it is very difficult to pick from their menu. They have some 5 or 7 burger options available, which are quite similar to each other, but there is no picture or available. I picked a Big Poppa and my partner had a Kevin Bacon. <br/><br/>Second thing, and the most important, is the taste. Burgers are with no doubt are quite big (not crazy-big) and made me feel that they stuffed them with everything the cook could possibly have on a kitchen table. But when you make a first bit, this is when you really start feel disappointment. Meat is tasteless as in Hungry Jack's 'Whopper'. To make its tastelessness even worse it is also a 'pink' (which I can understand when I have a steak, but not for a mince).<br/>Very basic sauce (smokey tomato like Barbecue Heinz) and a standard cheddar (not like the one you can have in Betty's Burgers). <br/><br/>So, at the end of my meal I had a feeling that even at home I can make burgers that are the way better than what I had here.<br/><br/>[Price] 3. Quite frankly, I can't see why their burgers are so expensive. They are not so big in size and the place is not that close to the beach to explain their price by the huge rental. Plus, they charge 2% if you're paying with a bank card.<br/><br/>In total, our meal here of 1 fries (12$ or 13$) and 2 burgers (22$ and 24$) costed us 65$ as they also have 10% Sunday surcharge. <br/>=== Summary<br/><br/>I can't imagine going here for a second time. You can find much better stuff anywhere else. For example Ribs & Burgers, Betty's Burgers, Crisp CBD or the Moo Gourmet Burgers that are just 200 m walking from this place.<br/><br/>Also, I was looking primarily for a place where I can eat a decent burger. Can't really say anything about other aspects of the place like a music, atmosphere or stuff like that.

Service: great<br/>Ambience: cool. Loved the hip hop/urban vibe<br/>Staff: friendly and attentive <br/>Food: delicious<br/>Drinks: Daiquiri was refreshing. The milkshake was too salty and a little too warm for our liking. <br/><br/>Great experience though. I recommend going here
Sydney Food By Chloe
Phenomenal DJs setting the mood on arrival! A fabulous feast of burgers, the one-and-only mac n cheese donut and their gorgeous sweet potato fries!!! If you want to feel less guilty, do a Bondi to Bronte walk pre-feed! I will be back... hungry for more!
Maureen Livingstone
Service here was great, staff were very friendly and accommodating, food came really quick and hot which I thought was good. I had the Mac & Cheese croquettes, very gooey and cheesy, I just loved it. The chicken popcorn was yummy too and I really liked the gravy. However, I wasn't able to finish them since I was eating alone so I had them for a takeaway instead. I will definitely try their milkshake next time.

Friday night dinner here with a girlfriend. Absolutely loved the painting at the back!! Atmosphere was great. Music and DJ was too! Unfortunately the food review isn't going to be. I ordered a bunless lamb brisket, lacked flavour and cane out cold. My friend ordered a Kevin Bacon I think it was called - she said hers also lacked flavour and was cold too. Had a Bueno cocktail also, but was average too. Sad to say I won't be going back in a hurry ☹️

I have to say I have tried a hell of a lot of burgers. I even owned a milk bar for 10 years. HOWEVER the service and food from Milky Lane was outstanding! Six big boys went down to trendy Bondi for a feed with reservations made prior. On arrival we walked straight in despite being 15 minutes late due to traffic. The waitress Jessy was put through her paces as we placed orders and kept changing our minds (the choices were amazing). She kept her cool and served us with a great smile and even had a sense of humour. The food came out promptly and with all the condiments one would expect. The burger was a Kevin Bacon with a southern fried chicken fillet on the side. The burger was cooked perfectly but maybe just a tad to much sauce. The chicken was fantastic and it was followed by loaded fries. Great mix! For dessert I had the churro cup with coconut gelato liquid Nutella and salted caramel sauce. It was an amazing way to finish the meal. The food was unbelievable and wow what service! The girl deserves a raise.<br/><br/>Definitely one to try in the saturated burger market!
The Naked Food Addict
Headed down one Sunday afternoon, and i'll just say that this place is great! Super busy but we managed to get a table within about 10 minutes of arriving, and the food came out quite fast too! Milky lane has a really good atmosphere. There was a DJ when we got there, and everyone was just in a really great mood which made it a really nice Sunday afternoon lunch. <br/><br/>We tried the mac and cheese donut which was delicious with all the sauces... personally, I like my mac and cheese to be a little bit more sharp in flavour, but the concept was still great (and it looked fantastic too). We also had the popcorn chicken which was SO GOOD! So much flavour in those little bites, and the sauce complimented them perfectly! I ordered the "Big Poppa" which was insane- it had a wagyu beef pattie, texan rub smoked beef brisket, maple smoked bacon, mac and cheese pattie, american cheddar, onion rings, pickles and bbq mustard! Like literally everything that is great and good on a burger was on this burger. We also tried the baked cookie... HOLY MOLY. It was so tasty, and melty and warm and I may or may not be salivating just thinking about it. <br/><br/>Unfortunately they originally forgot our popcorn chicken and our mac and cheese croquettes. We got the popcorn chicken eventually (once I had long finished my burger and about 15 minutes later) but the croquettes were still forgotten about, and we were full from the mac and cheese donut so we ended up telling them not to worry about it. <br/><br/>All in all though, service was great, and food was delicious! Would definitely return. Loved the vibe here!

Really friendly staff. The best burgers and loaded fries. Entertainment was really good. The Dj played some really good 90s music. It's a bit loud inside though because of the music. Other then that really nice foo. Love it
Ann
The atmosphere of milky lane is great however I found the burgers to be somewhat lacking. I visited milky lane after hearing some pretty good reviews and saw an ad on social media. The chicken burger was nice (nothing incredible though) and the drinks were okay. For the area the burgers were okay however there are much better burger bars in Sydney- Bar Luca is a personal fav of mine.

Ohhhh yum!<br/><br/>Had a couple of burgers from here and they were delicious.<br/><br/>The macaroni and cheese balls are to die for!!!! I need to get back and try some of the desserts, unfortunately I was so full from the mains I couldn't fit it in (very unlike me)

I have been to milky lane twice now, first time was on a Saturday when it was not very busy and the second most recent time on a busy Friday night. Both times the atmosphere was completely different. The busy Friday night had a great atmosphere with a live DJ & great tunes.<br/>I have had the milky lane burger, the limp brisket and loaded fries.<br/>The burger buns are pillow soft & fluffy. The meats tender & juicy.<br/>The limp brisket is a winner, beef brisket lopped with 3 sauces, sauerkraut, onion rings.<br/>It's a flavor explosion in your mouth. <br/>The foods definitely worth the visit.<br/>We never made a booking either time I visited (I didn't know you could) and the first time wasn't an issue, the second time the manager was lovely & got us a seat at the bar, however after being there for a while we asked a waitress if there was a possibility of moving due to the stools becoming uncomfortable to which we got an extremely rude response. We seen several tables stay empty while we were there and there was some confusion about how we were to order as once we were seated at the bar no further service was offered until we asked.<br/>The rest of the staff were lovely and the food was great.
Matt
The food was really quite good, however the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. Staff mucking around behind the bar while we're waiting for our order to be taken; items ordered, never arriving but still on the bill; major attitudes from staff; wrong cheque brought to the table; asking for the substitute gluten-free bread which never happened. It was a Friday night, though not particularly busy: perhaps 10 tables between three or four floor staff.

BAD SERVICE !! I went to this place a few days ago, a woman with blonde and a thick body serving me, she is very unfriendly and rude, but the food is very tasty, please provide training how to serve buyers. This is the first and last time I will come to this place
Isabelbookallil
Excellent! Best milkshake, the mega smash and the burgers were great! Overall great atmosphere. The popcorn chicken was yummy and the fries were well cooked and seasoned
Postcards From Peta
Located on one of the busiest streets in Bondi, Curlewis. It’s probably the restaurant with all the cute puppies out the front. As you walk into Milky Lane it is covered in grafitti and a bar runs along the side of the restaurant. Rap music playing or a DJ on some nights, this place has a great vibe.

I don't know what it is with the burger scene in Australia, but just about every burger out there comes heavily sauced, ridiculously greasy, or convoluted. Milky Lane was no exception.<br/><br/>First off, let me say their classic burger called the "Milky Lane" burger is great! Perfect amount of condiments and you can really appreciate the flavor of the beef and the smokiness from the grill. A good burger is one where after the first bite, you get the juiciness of the beef and you can legit taste everything on and in the burger: crispy bun, gooey cheese, crunchy lettuce, tangy sauce, etc. <br/><br/>It's when we get to the crazy burgers where a lot of the disappointment comes. <br/><br/>The "Big Poppa" comes loaded with kitchen sink (mac and cheese patty, brisket, bacon, cheese, onion rings, pickles, and every condiment under the sun). The brisket was extremely dry and could you have passed for beef jerky it was that dry :(. Also the burger doesn't need 4 condiments on it! Just stick with maybe BBQ sauce and your house special sauce, not mustard & BBQ sauce & special sauce & tomato relish. <br/><br/>The other burger we got (I forget the name, something to do with Kevin Bacon) sounded great but when we got it holy moly! It's drowning in a still running avalanche of BBQ sauce! Why are Aussies charging extra for sauce when you literally have 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce cascading on a burger? All I could taste was BBQ sauce and the severe messiness of it all kind of makes you a little mad. The bacon on the burger was perfect though! Proper CRISPY streaky bacon! :) <br/><br/>The Korean fried chicken was also a disappointment. It had nothing to do with Korean fried chicken. Just fried chicken tenders with a dipping sauce that tastes like maybe Gochujang, vinegar, sugar, sesame, etc. Just go to a Korean restaurant for it. <br/><br/>All in all, if you decide to eat at Milky Lane, be aware you're going to probably be scraping sauce off of the crazy burgers. I would stick to the Milky Lane Burger and add bacon. Done. You don't need a mouthful of condiments! Also the fried mac and cheese was the best thing on the table. Get 'em! :D
A&S Eat Everything
Came here while in Sydney. <br/>Very trendy joint with a DJ spinning music and cool artwork on the walls. <br/><br/>I got the Big Poppa with an extra piece of fried chicken. This burger was amazing! It oozed of flavour from the succulent wagyu beef, brisket and mac and cheese. Definitely not dry as some other burgers this size may be. <br/><br/>Probably one of the best burgers I've had.<br/><br/>

I went to Milky Lane last night with my husband, sister in law and my dog Spartacus.<br/>From the moment we arrived, we were attended to by the fantastic staff. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 burgers, 2 lots of loaded fries and 2 lots of Mac and cheese croquettes. The food came our super fast. Everything was fresh and delicious! We loved everything on the table. <br/>The vibe was chilled and comfortable, the food incredible and the service could not be faulted. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to visit again soon. Milky lane is the bomb!

A feast for the eyes but didn't satisfy the appetite.<br/>Kyle from KIIS FM mentioned that he eats the burgers from here so we thought this place must be good so we decided to brave the cold weather for some burgers and fries. We ordered the cheat platter which included a burger of your choice (we chose the big poppa burger), loaded fries, X2 Mac and cheese croquettes, x3 pieces Korean chicken, onion rings, milkshake of your choice (we chose salted caramel) and we ordered the 'limp brisket' burger to share as well. We ordered a virgin mojito to try. Overall, the food was okay, the meat in the burgers were tender but had too much sauce for my liking that it overpowered the burger. The croquettes were soft inside, mild in taste and was disappointingly not cheesy. The Korean chicken had a tempura batter and was also mild in taste, it was soft though. Maybe the dipping sauces were meant to enhance the flavors but it didn't do it for me. The red sauce tasted weird. The fries were covered in sauce, bacon and shallots. It had too much sauce for my liking, not enough cheese and it wasn't stringy cheese either. The shake was sickenly sweet, I have a sweet tooth but this is extremely sweet. I don't see myself coming back as nothing on the menu stood out but worth a try.

I stupidly went to Milky Lane on a semi full stomach after brunch, and had instant regret. You gotta come here really hungry and fully prepared for the cheat meal of your dreams. Literally whatever deep fried or chocolate smothered heart attack you've dreamt of, Milky Lane have created it. <br/><br/>Working with limited stomach space I only had room to try the Mac n cheese balls and the loaded fries. <br/><br/>Mac n cheese balls were bomb. Crispy AF and then somehow inside so saucy and cheesy served with a dipping sauce. <br/><br/>The fries flavours were on fire but I need more toppings! There was liquid cheese, gravy and bacon which were tasty, but needed more coverage on the fries. <br/><br/>Need to revisit this one for the burgers and ridiculous desserts.

Though food was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But was not aware there was a Sunday service charge of nearly 10% . I had the Kevin bacon burger and it was amazing.

Went on a monday which was probably good because wasnt to packed. Had the milky lane burger, best burger ever!! Shared the cheesey bacan fries. Atmosphere was relaxing and chilled and listening to hip hop music. Had a milk shake and it was so yummy and i dont normally even drink milk shakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Found a large, thick piece of plastic in my croquette (which was found in my mouth after eating the mouthful) and got a $50+ surcharge for Sunday. 15+ people at our table for a birthday and only the croquettes got taken off the bill. Poor form. Waitress tried but unfortunately nothing much more came from that (she's definitely not to be blamed), I've waitressed and I've been instructed by managers to give bottles of wine and tables of meals for free/discounted price. <br/>Expensive and not worth it.

Came here a few months ago, had a great waiter, loved the cocktails and the burgers were outstanding! Busy and vibing, overall we loved the food and look forward to returning.

Worst place I've been to in ages, rude waitstaff, mediocre food, not to mention waiting for half an hour. The burgers were cold, and very overpriced for what they were: if you want a good burger, go to chur burger, or Mary's where you're actually treated like a human being and aesthetic doesn't trump quality. I felt like this was a popular place where people took pictures of their food instead of a place that was actually pleasant to be in.

If i could give a 0/5 then i would. <br/>Im generally very fare when it comes to scoring food and Milky Lane is a joke!<br/><br/>I have been here on 3 different occasions and have been far from impressed EVERY TIME!<br/><br/>Cons<br/>- continually have to keep asking for drink serive<br/>- rude staff members, i questioned regarding getting chips with my burger and she responded with " Well.. do you want a burger or not?"<br/>- youll pay up to nearly $32-35 for chips and a burger<br/>- i was sick after eating and couldnt finish my burger<br/>- A staff memeber was serving myself and friends and mid way through getting our order the owner (young guy) came and pulled her away so that she would serve  HIS friends right then and there.- it was embarrasing to watch<br/><br/>Pro<br/>- the mural at the back of the store is pretty cool <br/>- looks like a cool place to chill and drink with friends (however there are plenty of places like this in Bondi)<br/><br/>Would never return and would recommend trying other bruger joints like Paradise Road or Bondi Tony's
Coffeebrunchanddinner
This a burger joint in Bondi that always teems with people and blasts beats that make you want to dance in your seat. The burger selection here is good with the names appropriated from different music artists. We managed to grab a table outside which was cool to watch the world go by and enjoy our feast. The Limp Brisket burger was delicious, the meat tender and well seasoned with a smoky sauce and the side of sweet potato fries (which are my absolute favourite) was extremely filling. I have a brother who always orders the veggie option and then mixes it up by adding extras to it. In this case he went the Drake because he loves mushrooms and haloumi and then added a crispy fried chicken fillet. It made it a mammoth burger and he loved it. You are not eating here for the healthiest options but if you want some banging flavours and reasonably priced meals accompanied by an awesome atmosphere, good drinks selection and awesome sounds then this is a place for you.

Cute little set up with a retro feel. Perfect for meeting up with friends. Food wasn't too bad but dessert can be a bit overpowering. Other than that, service was great and food came out at a timely manner.

Lovely staff, good chips, mediocre and expensive burger. Food takes ages to come. As a burger lover who have tried so many good burgers in Sydney wanted to try this place but the result wasn't the best...
Sheena Dickinson
Food took a long time, burgers add quite small for the price you pay. Loved the milky lane but the fried chicken burger wasn't as good. The mac and cheese croquettes were average, didn't have much flavour.

A little confused by some of these low ratings <br/>4 of us all ordered different burgers, and a round of loaded fries to start. Loaded fries came out fast, and were devoured just as fast! Everyone enjoyed their burger choice. Place was packed, but staff still did a great job bringing water around etc. <br/>Definitely be coming back for my American burger fix in the future

I dont even know where to begin. <br/>After booking for a table for 2pm we finally got our table at 2.45, after being told we had to wait for 2 table to finish eating so we could be seated. <br/>It took 1 hour to get our table water, when we finally got our table water we had to ask for glasses so we could drink it. Wth<br/>We finally order and it took 45 minutes to get our starters which were wrong sent them back and came back wrong again (don't know how hard it is to get sauce on the side)<br/>After finally getting our burgers at 3.50pm 2 were wrong n had to send them back. <br/>Then the manager told us that if we don't ask for bacon on the chicken burger that they don't put it on ( mind you it said on the menu that it comes with bacon)<br/>The customer service was terrible. <br/>To top it off they charged us for food that was sent to our table that wasn't ours (got sent back) a extra $70. <br/>We are so disappointed because we have heard such good things. <br/>We will never be going there again. <br/> <br/>

After noticing many eye catching posts on social media in regards to this place it was defiantly one to try.<br/>From the moment I arrived that's when I realised that it was going to be an interesting night. I waited 15minutes to even be acknowledge, walking through to be seated it felt as if I was walking through a nightclub music so loud you couldn't hear yourself think, once seated on a table with several people that I didn't know I proceeded to look through the menu with struggle as the area was limited with lighting, what caught my attention was the fact that you had no idea on whom the waitresses were trying to hunt down someone to take your order not only that but to order a drink also.<br/>After a few minutes trying to locate a waitress as there were very minimal staff for the amount of tables and people.<br/>I had than order a drink not being asked if I was ready to order my food just rudely walking off after asking for a coke.<br/>Sometime had gone by still waiting on my drink it finally arrived, I don't understand how hard it is to serve a drink that is meant to be cold not warm and flat.<br/>Again after trying to look for someone to take my order I finally got to!<br/> In this time of waiting for my food, a table had become vacant not sure if sitting with people I don't know is worse or sitting at a table that every time someone would walk by they would knock into our table almost spilling my drink, but the service of the waitresses were absolutely appalling.<br/>When working in this type of work place you're meant to greet people with a smile not place someone's food on the table as your walking by not even acknowledging your customers is ridiculous.<br/>I ordered loaded fries as an entree I must say I was pleased, after ordering the chicken burger I asked the waitress if I could take the bbq sauce off the burger and instead have the "milky lane special sauce" with surprise I was told I was not able to add a different sauce onto my burger as the chefs take so much time and care into making the right flavours for the burgers I was shocked I didn't realise it was such a big deal changing a sauce on the burger.<br/>I had than received my burger chicken was beautiful but the the coleslaw on the burger did no justice for it as it was placed on the bottom and had made the bun go soggy with an odd taste to it.<br/>It was defiantly an experience!<br/>I sadly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as the service was so poor.<br/>I do understand that it's meant to be a chilled spot but the atmosphere wasn't one to enjoy a meal in.<br/>Defiantly over rated<br/>

Their last supper mural is awesome. The chicken burger is also really good. I love the burgers here. Furthermore, the fries are really crispy and seasoned nicely

Food took ages to come out, croquettes were still frozen on the inside.... We were told we would get new ones but had finished our burgers before they came out so didn't get them in the end.....<br/>

This is a review of the popup ML did at Hillside Hotel last week. I recognised alot of the kitchen crew so I consider it a legitimate review. I tried the chicken Weezy, and even after all photos it was still warm and delicious. Love chicken and gravy! Definitely my new favourite

Service and Food were excellent. Left there feeling so full! Will def be back again. My sister said she wants her wedding cake made from the Chickanye burger.

Ok I don't know what's with the bad reviews - tonight (Friday) got there around 7pm, booked out but they squeezed us in, we got 2 of the burgers with everything (i forget the name... But it was $22 and worth every dollar- holy shit I will dream about the brisket and the Mac and cheese balls) plus fries & wings.. Seriously THE best burger I've ever had. Better than the Blame Canada, sorry BL..<br/>The ambience is cool and the staff were so lovely. <br/>I will be definitely be back after I can fit back into my jeans

Burgers and beats. I really enjoyed my Milky Lane burger with bacon and house ale, fixed my hangover straight away. They also do crazy shakes.

Been looking forward to visiting this place for months after all the Instagram hype. Booked a table last week online for my friends birthday, only to be told when we were seated that we only had an hour and half sitting, even though this wasn't mentioned when we booked. I said to the waiter that we were planning on staying for longer as it was for a birthday and we wanted to stick around for some drinks and he responded "it's enough time to eat". We ordered 2 burgers with a side of fries, fries came out first, burgers 20 mins later. When we told the waitress that we wanted the fries as a side not an entree she responded "that's just the way the kitchen works here". Burgers were amazing though in fairness. The main thing that really ruined our experience was when we came to pay. We went up to the counter to ask for the bill and the rude waitress took our money without even a thank you or a smile. We hesitated for a moment in disbelief at her attitude towards us expecting her to acknowledge us in some kind of way, but she was too busy chatting to her co worker and we walked out without even a thank you or a goodbye. Amazing food ruined by rude, poor customer service.

Extremely disappointing, waited an hour for food to come out, fries were cold, burger meat was bland and tasteless, service was slow and disinterested and all for a premium price, we will definitely not be going back. Overpriced and not worth the hype.
Carolyn
I've read all these really bad reviews but we had a great night. <br/>- The service was fantastic, they were really attentive and always checking if we wanted something. The waitresses were really lovely. <br/>- The food came out quick and was delicious. Dessert was so so good, and the chicken burger was nice (wouldn't get the pork burger again).<br/>The atmosphere is amazing which is what draws the crowd.<br/>I think the secret is to get here semi early, we can at 6:30 on a Sunday and had a great time. <br/><br/>
Victor Garcia
The burgers are good but the service was average. The place is absolutely understaffed. Two waitresses were doing all the seat allocation, order taking, table cleaning etc.
Eric Hahn
Unfortunately went there for my daughters birthday on Saturday night. <br/>Ordered the corn cob $7 for a piece of corn with a bit of a smoke taste about it then got the big boppa burger for $22 well it was small didn't come with chips meat patty was cooked rare. The bacon was nice and the meat was ok rest of it tasteless. <br/>I ever you want over priced every thing and over hyped about nothing make sure you head to milky lane.
Naomi Rheinberger
Really loved my milky lane experience. The ambience is on point as soon as you step foot in the door and it stays with you thanks to the endless old school r&b and the attentive wait staff. <br/><br/>After seeing a whole pile of social media love I had to get straight into the burger business and ordered the chicken burger with loaded fries. The chicken burger was every bit the almost perfect burger, the smokey BBQ sauce (I think) was a bit too overpowering for me but I totally get why it's there and how it compliments the flavours. The loaded fries we're like angelic blessed potatoes, I couldn't get enough of them all washed down with a salted caramel milkshake.<br/><br/>The conuts were disappointing for me, almost like a really expensive soft serve. They looked nothing like they do in pictures, mine was kind of a really pale looking donut with soft serve inside and two little brownie pieces on top. I think we just got the rough end of the conut stick to be honest or the chef was possibly over making them. <br/><br/>Regardless, I'll be back to keep demolishing my way through the menu.
Daszig
Really ordinary. Service was all over the place, we got the chips first and then cancelled our entrees because our burgers had already arrived (after over an hour). The burger was cold and nothing special. The murals are cool but you can go to Bondi beach for murals.
The Burger Hand
Milky Lane became Insta-famous a couple months back due to their dessert posts on social media, but their main focus here are burgers. Located a short walk from Bondi Beach, the vibe here is cool with a mural of hip hop icons and a few burgers named after them. I decided to go for their classic Milky Lane ($16) and added another patty ($5.) <br/><br/>Double beef, double American cheddar, tomato, lettuce, tomato relish, homemade pickles, Milky Lane sauce<br/><br/>Holy onion, Batman! Onions aren't listed in the ingredients but they sure do show up in the burger in an overpowering way. I do like onions but the first few bites made me feel like I was impersonating Tony Abbott. The beef here is cooked medium, but I think the double patties made them cook a little faster as mine was a bit overcooked and the seasoning was unbalanced in the patties. The beef is also a bit leaner than I'd like, but overall it's OK. The milk bun didn't do much for me as it fell apart halfway through the burger, it probably would help to be toasted. Out of the toppings the homemade pickles are the standout, it's just unfortunate the onions overpowered them. The Milky Lane sauce is hard to discern taste wise, and the cheese literally fell off the burger when I picked it up, so I ended up eating more cheese off my plate than on the burger. Not necessarily bad, but not great either.<br/><br/>All in all a couple tweaks would make this burger a lot, lot better.<br/><br/>Beef: 3.5 <br/><br/>Bun: 3.0<br/><br/>Toppings: 3.2<br/><br/>Overall: 3.23/5
Emmaprice
Meh.. overpriced, pretentious, underwhelming, not all its hyped up to be, burgers don't even come with fries.... the mural is cool but still, don't bother.<br/><br/>Save yourself and head to Bondi Tony's - always consistent, hands down best in Bondi.
Sweetandyummie
Nice place with a fresh bondi vibe. I had the churro cone and the churro bowl and it was a little underwhelming but did taste nice. I will have to go back and try the burgers. Customer service is very attentive.
