Review Cosmopolitan Cafe Bondi Junction - Bondi

I've been a regular for over a year, and today received a nice surprise. Symmetric placement of the strawberries and blueberries on my oatmeal porridge. Great service, friendly staff and reasonable prices

I had the lunch and dessert today. The pasta was really delicious. Excellent service and very friendly staff.❤️❤️

I’ve bought a lemon and meringue slice of cake for breakfast in this café. The lemon taste was rich, but after eating it I felt my stomach really heavy. Nice staff, well organised. They also have tables outdoor.

I travel from Rushcutters Bay to Bondi Junction for my coffee at Cosmopolitan Cafe. I always feel welcome and acknowledged, no matter how busy the staff are. My coffee is consistently well prepared. I find it to be a beautiful blend/brand of coffee. The service is personable, efficient and the staff are aware of individual customer needs, from my observations. It's not easy to find excellent service, a cafe atmosphere, and environment where you feel so comfortable.

I came around 5pm and the cafe still open but they were getting ready to close. It’s really nice of them welcome me to have coffee and cake 😊 I ordered Soy Cappuccino and a slice of Tiramisu..The coffee was too weak and watery 😔 tiramisu was ok but a bit dry 😉

Sat down for 10 minutes looking at staff walking by, avoiding my eye contact. Went straight to the counter to order. Been told to sit down and wait, somebody would come. A middle aged waitress came by 5 minutes later asking if I needed a menu, told her my order, then she walked away without a confirmation, such as "Yes", or simply repeat the menu. Fearing the confusion, I called her over after another 10 minutes asking if my coffee was on its way. She pointed at the barista and said "Yes". Half an hour for a latte, not acceptable.

I have never written a negative review but today was the last straw. I tried to enjoy coming to this cafe to have my coffee and write in my journal alone, but would get such rude hostile attitude from the owners daughter who would then pass onto some staff to be rude to me also.

Solo diners like to have a coffee and write in their journal for longer than 5 minutes. Its 2017.

Today the owner refused to let me sit down, when the cafe was half full, as he said quote i sometimes spend "too long" in there.

Ive never experienced such rudeness. Not only from the daughter, staff but the owner today too who i've never met. This is how they discuss customers behind their back and then as soon as i walked in.

Do not expect to feel welcome here!!!. I felt bullied and that they wanted me to leave as soon as i walked in with the exception of a couple of very nice waitresses.

Karma to the business owners for behaving this way and teaching staff to think that way too. Shame on you

This cafe never interested me in terms of food but when walking by, their cake display looks so tempting that I tell myself I would try it one day.

The day came when my friend and I tried their raspberry cheesecake which was nice and choc mud which was average as the cake was too dry.

On a different day my parents tried their tiramisu and told me it was the worst they have ever had. So I guess you have to try your luck with their cake range!

Wanted to go for a place for breakfast as most places weren't open saw this cafe passing by. The waitress was attentive but got the order mixed up when serving by got there in the end. The portion of the Oxford sandwich was small for the price and not filling at all. The mango smoothie was nice and cold and probably the only enjoyable thing I had here. My friend got the scrambled eggs and bacon with toast and found them to be overcooked but seemed a large portion . Didn't really enjoy my experience eating here so won't be back anytime soon

I would not recommend this place. I've visited a few times and the meals have always been very plain- something I could easily whip up at home. The staff here are friendly but the atmosphere is extremely dull and this place is SO overpriced for what it is.

Terrible. Just terrible. No one services us at the table, we had to walk up to see the menus, tried getting waitresses attention, 2 ignored us. Brought the wrong meal, missed a coffee and just poor service in general.

Coffee is pretty rubbish, watery and bland, bacon and egg rolls were pretty sub par as well.... Especially for $8 each. Service was good as was banana bread.

If I could rate this a zero, I would. They don't deserve the 1 I've rated it. Went in for breakfast this morning, ordered scrambled eggs on toast
With piccolo latte. Coffee was very average. And to top it off there was a strand of hair in my eggs. When I complained about it, the person at the till decided to remove the latte from the bill and charge me for the food I'm complaining about. I insisted on not paying and it became an argument only to be told that it was my choice to enter their cafe! Really! The menu didn't have eggs with hair on it? If I wanted hair to eat, I could have plucked my own! What a load of rubbish!! PLEASE DON'T EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT HAIR!!!!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
It was the Harbour Bridge's 80th birthday so cocktails and oysters at a Double Bay institution seemed fitting - and it has been around almost as long as the coathanger herself. Okay, make that half as long (in transient Sydney though, that's a lifetime). Their very name calls for a round of Cosmopolitans ($15) and like good Italian lineage, they carry their name beautifully. The menu is also cosmopolitan - Aussie classics, Hungarian comfort food and Asian staples - our waiter calls it " little Budapest " but I think it depends on who serves you. We bypass goulash for a French classic, Nicoise Salad ($20.50) a light accompaniment to Sydney Oysters ($17.50/6) they're salty and chilled, and don't need the seafood sauce they're served with. My dining partner is a Pad Thai ($23.50) connoisseur (from Newtown, naturally) and liked their version, which goes heavy on...

Diana. One of the first places we spotted after getting off the airport bus at Bondi Junction, we needed coffee so in we went. No problems at all with the service (but we did only get coffee) Coffee was just Ok-passable

Very Rude - left before ordering. The service was so hostile here that I left before ordering. One of the rudest staff members I have ever encountered in a cafe.

Cannot believe they are still open... Stopped by with my boyfriend today. Was handed the menu quickly. Waited about 15mins for them to come back to take our order (wasn't busy). My coffee frappe tasted like coffee syrup blended with not-so-fresh milk and ice. The caramel sauce on the creme caramel looked like jelly and tasted nothing like caramel, the whole creme caramel tasted off. It had a disgusting sour-milk taste. I brought it back in and told the ladies that it tasted off and wanted a refund. No apologies or comments, just agreed to my refund. Would never go back.

Service was poor, asked for no bacon plate came with bacon.
Poached eggs came hard boiled, chips cold, 'grilled tomato' more like a tiny slice practically raw.
Fried eggs burnt to a crisp, this shouldn't have even been served.
The venue is in a great location however lacks good food & quality service. Disgusted.
Would rather pay not to eat there again.

Granny's cafe. This place is usually packed with old people in the afternoon while the younger ones are probably busy shopping at Westfield. But I like to go there just for my chai latte especially if made by the owner. And I love their free treat of a little piece of chocolate.

Cosmos is an institution. Makes you feel Luke you've stepped back in time 20/30 years. Have to love the two-man booths and origionsl decor.
