My Husband and I come here often !!! The service is always great, the food even better! I highly recommend the mussel fritter😋 whole salted fish!😋 pad see ew omg everything we have is amazing!🤩
This place is really great, me and my girlfriend come here often and every time we get a new dish it never disappoints. Its a bit more expensive than the standard Thai canteen but its worth every dollar as the food is superb! Great selection of classic and original Thai food, excellent cocktails and friendly staff.
Incredible food, very attentive and friendly staff.
Food prices are really reasonable considering it's the best location to sit down and have a fresh meal, away from all the noisy crowds that hoard the food court downstairs .
Must try the char grilled wagyu beef and roasted tomatoes , it's mind blowing .
Delicious, authentic Thai cuisine The food is fresh and tasty and well presented. Prices are reasonable.
The staff are lovely. All of the staff are great but there is one woman there who works on Saturday night who is always attentive and goes the extra mile for people. She is the sweetest person I have ever met.
The décor is traditional Thai and makes you feel like you are in Thailand. We got the opportunity to speak with the chef a few weeks ago and he was happy to adjust a dish for us to accommodate a dietary requirement for one person in our group.
Being close to public transport is very handy if we decide to have a drink. This is our go-to Thai restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant, great food and great service! Will be back again!
Loved it and already recommended it to friends & fam!
Totally enjoyed our meal tonight at Bolarn. Massaman Beef was absolutely superb and easily the best I've ever had. Our other dishes included Crying Tiger & Lamb Satay Skewers - all great! Excellent service, friendly feel to the place and good value. Can't wait till next time.
I thought this place was great. We ordered the vegetarian green curry which was filling and had a kick to it. We also ordered the pad see ew with chicken which was full of flavour. Overall nice place for a romantic dinner.
Perfect ambiance and the food was sublime. Each dish is authentic and they don’t overdo the presentation. We ordered satay, Bangkok tom yum, Chinese broccoli and pork belly and the green curry and jasmine fried rice!
Go to Thai in Eastern Suburbs, the restaurant is reasonably priced with a huge menu. The downfall is that its located in a shopping centre which has a negative effect on the atmosphere. That said the decor is fantastic with really friendly staff.
The tom yum soup is extra spicy but delicious. The pork belly is a bit to chewy but comes with lots of vegetables. Cocktails and mocktails are fantastic
We came here with a cudo voucher and we found the food surprisingly good and we both walked out full.
Service was a bit slow at start and the staff didn't seem that friendly but we didn't let that bother us. Restaurant is very spacious and we sat in the booths. We had a glass of wine each and the highlight dishes was the scallops, ocean trout and the lamb cutlets. My husband really liked the dessert of coconut ice cream, sticky rice and sago where I thought it was average.
I wouldn't mind coming back to try their a la carte menu.
Tried the seven course set with living social voucher ($50). Nice variety of food and good quantity. One of my best voucher experience. Inside of the restaurant looks nice with all the flowers
one of my favourite thai restaurant. A bit pricey but the food are amazingly delicious. they have a variety of thai cuisines to choose from and they are spot on delicious. They also have a mini bar where you can order a refreshing cocktails. The ambience is very good considering it's in westfield. It's a good restaurant to try when you're in westfield bondi junction. Recommended!
One of the superior Thai places around without a hideous price tag. Authentic and full of flavour, with some unusual dishes on the menu. Decent wine list too.
Food was excellent quality, reasonably priced, with beautiful restaurant decor. The only thing which was slightly annoying was food coming out at different times I ate with a friend and his main came out 5 mins before mine did so was nearly done when I got mine. I would still recommend goin here for food tho
Bo Larn Thai in Westfields Bondi Junction is rather resplendent. Lilac flowers hang from the ceiling and the restaurant is decked out in every corner with lush green plant foliage. Their menu spans over 10 pages and is crammed with all manner of delectable-sounding dishes. It’s overwhelming if you cannot decide what to eat but here is a guide to help you on your way.

+4.5
This Thai restaurant and bar is located on the level below event cinemas at Westfield. We went for a quick dinner before the movies and loved it! The decor is stunning and you discover more and more as you look around you. We went for the pork skewers and the caramelised rice paper for entrees. The pork skewers were delicious and add sticky rice for $3. The caramelised rice paper rolls were not to our taste. For mains we had green curry and the sticky lamb ribs. The green curry was a generous serve and had a good amount of spice with the option to add more chilli - be sure to order a serve of rice to have with the delicious sauce. The lamb ribs were sticky and succulent however not a large meal so pair with something else. Bo Larn would be perfect for couples or groups and is some of the best Thai we have had in Bondi Junction.
This place has some unique twists on old classics. We had the massamun lamb, the softshell crab curry, the turmeric chicken and the lamb short ribs. Everything was so well prepared and garnished. It tasted as good or even better than it looked! The ambience and decor of the place is something special. It's big enough for big parties of people and intimate enough for a quiet date night. The service was excellent as well and the food came out quicker than expected.
The only take away was that it's expensive. Cost us about $47 per head. For thai that's expensive but considering the food, service and the fact it was located in bondi junction - I guess that's to be expected. Great for special occasions
Overall fantastic experience! Will be coming back here for thai :)
Beautiful set up amazing food
This restaurant has the best Thai food u can ask for all ingredients and flavours are fresh and amazing!! Highly recommend to go and try
My first time visit to this Thai oasis well located near Event Cinemas for a bite to eat before a movie. Love the decor and friendly service. The menu looks so interesting with lots of dishes I've never hear of before but tempt me to try. The prices seem quite reasonable too and we spotted lots of great looking dishes coming out of the kitchen while we dined. This time around it's just a quick bite to eat with the Mrs on our date night away from the kids. Betel leaf with poached prawn ($4 each) are well presented and tasty. Definitely would get these again. Chicken Satay ($12, 8 pieces) are smallish but tender and go well with some Steamed Rice ($3) as a simple meal. Next time I'd definitely want to try the Mussel Pancake and Tumeric Wafers that sound intriguing. I love how there's free parking with entry after 6 pm too so there's not rush and worry about parking.
Good food for quick lunch. Fresh , good size meal, hot n spicy. Beats a salad n sandwich, with food hot and consistent. Price ok. No16 salmon and fried rice good choice.
First time here. Came on the strength of recommendations on Zomato. Food was fabulous! As Thai aficionados of 30+ years my wife and I both thought best we had ever had - high praise indeed (but we are from Melbourne, Sydneysiders!). Will come back.
I actually love this place. This is a favourite of my sister and myself. Food is excellent. Try the red curry with duck, and the wagyu beef salad. Really good! You really can't compare it to other thai joints as it is different in its taste. Well balanced meal, and very very very tasty.
Probably the most beautiful and tastiest yet also most underrated Thai restaurant in Sydney - I've been here many times and the food is always incredible!
Well the food is surprisingly good here. After many times of passing this resturant and it being empty, by chance I needed to kill some time before a movie. Personally I think Thai food has suffered a similar fate to that of Chinese food in the 90's it's become boring and lost its identity to commercialism. I think Bo Larn actually has something different to offer. The food is great and generally well presented. However service is bad and the waiters are not engaging and the table setting is really bad. Shane as the decor is done well.
I love the restaurant's beautiful decors and romantic ambience. After greeted by a friendly waitress we started our meals with two entree dishes - betal leaf prawn and mango salad with softshell crab; both dishes were really good. Betal leaf had great chewy texture along with sweet and sour flavors. Loved Mango salad it was so zesty and flavorful and the accompanied softshell crab was warm and crispy. For main we had Turmeric chicken skewers which were cooked in charcoal, the meat was so succulent and juicy. We also ordered whole snapper choo chee which was also good; fishes were cooked nice and crispy topped with rich red curry sauce.
Service was attentive and friendly and food came out really fast. The place wasn’t very busy but still I was surprised how efficient the service was.
All in all great restaurant with delicious food, fast service and well priced meals. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in a mood for Thai food.
Decent restaurants and shopping centres don't mix. If you don't believe me ask Justin North or the owners of Xanthi. Who would take a loved one for a romantic dinner at a place where the toilets are round the corner by the Boost juice and mobile phone repair shop. . Bo Larn at Westfield Bondi Junction attempts to straddle the divide between food court and proper restaurant. Located a level above the main foodcourt, Bo Larn occupies a large space that's tastefully fit-out in pastel green bamboo but, as it opens out onto the Westfield, it struggles sometimes to maintain the ambience. Behind the counter in the open kitchen are a surprisingly large team of chefs in immaculate whites, and front of house are a team of friendly although mostly silent waitresses.
Came here before watching the new James Bond movie: Spectre today. I had the Chilli Black with soft-shell crabs and pepper sauce. The crab was so succulent and everything else in the dish went well together. The restaurant was very elegant inside, especially for a Thai restaurant. Then again, it's located in Westfield Bondi and so, the place needs to appeal to the affluent crowd. Prices are reasonable and I highly recommend this joint to all.
Bo Larn is my absolute favourite place to eat in Bondi Junction. The quality of food is phenomenal and the service is great. The prices are fair considering the atmosphere, service and quality of food. I recommend the crispy duck and the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly, you cannot go wrong!
FOOD QUALITY
12 of us dined here for my wife’s birthday and we couldn’t have been happier with the food. We ordered a selection of starters for everyone to share including lamb skewers, chicken satay skewers, corn fritters and curry puffs, and then let everyone choose their own mains. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and served to the table in generous portions on stylish white crockery or wooden boards. My grilled chicken was cooked thoroughly, just the way I like it and with a generous serving of crunchy vegetables. My wife’s lamb ribs were soft and tender. There wasn’t a complaint to be heard around the table. And that’s no mean feat with 12 fussy eaters.
ATMOSPHERE
The place has been tastefully decked out in soothing pastel shades with exotic oriental art and floral displays. The effect is an elegant and stylish looking restaurant that at the same time feels relaxed and intimate but also buzzes with atmosphere as well. On the night that we dined, the place was almost full, so that added warmth and vibrancy to it. Clearly, the owners have spared no expense in creating a homely and inviting space for patrons and I believe, judging by the crowds on a Saturday night, they’ve succeeded in this endeavour.
SERVICE
I have only praise for the bevvy of pretty, slender waitresses in their smart beige and turquoise uniforms who served us. It was an all-female cast from the maitre d' to the order takers and food deliverers and each one of them was helpful, courteous and polite. And it took a lot of patience to deal with a table like ours with 12 indecisive, picky diners, but they handled it in an exemplary, calm fashion. Our booked table was ready and waiting when we arrived – and in a convenient position at the back of the restaurant, giving us plenty of room to spread out. Orders were promptly taken and the food came out quickly and in the correct order. They didn’t miss a beat and for that I was grateful, as the organiser of this gathering.
MENU
The food menu is enclosed in a thick, heavy wooden binder, making it awkward to read and get to grips with. The layout also confused me with elaborate pictures of each dish taking up too much space and making the whole structure too cumbersome. The drinks menu, in tiny print on a kind of mini clipboard, was impossible to read in the dim lighting. A simpler, cleaner style of menu in large print would make it a lot easier to handle.
TOILETS
There are no toilets in the restaurant per se, but being at the Westfield Shopping Centre there are plenty just outside. And as one would expect they’re clean and well provisioned.
ACOUSTICS
Despite it being nearly a full house, we had no trouble in conversing. Tables are well spaced out and the soft furnishings help to mitigate any noise. In any event most of the other diners were quiet and well behaved. It’s that kind of place, where everyone is in a laid back, relaxed mood.
COST
Despite the upmarket location and elegant style, prices are reasonable. Starters rage from $10-$12 for a serving of four pieces and mains range from $18-$24. So even with a few drinks thrown in, you can still get away with about $30-$35 a head and you won’t leave here hungry!
BOOKING
Definitely recommended for weekend dining. As it’s a large place with room for maybe 100 diners, I wouldn’t think that you’d need to book for week nights.
PARKING/ACCESS
Easy at Westfield, where there is free parking after 7.00pm. Before 7.00pm, you get two hours free.
SUMMARY
Bo Larn excels at every level. The food was fresh and tasty and served in generous portions, the ambience was perfect and you can’t go past this place for efficient, friendly service and value for money. The Westfield Shopping Centre provides a safe, comfortable and accessible environment with ample parking. Bo Larn is highly recommended. It’s a welcome addition to the Westfield-Bondi Junction dining scene and I'm sure we'll be back. My only suggestion would be a simpler and smaller menu and a decent website to highlight its many positive attributes.
Absolutely wonderful!! I don't know what the other reviews were talking about, or something has definitely changed, because service was fantastic ! Food came out very quickly and all the staff were constantly buzzing around. The food was wonderful. Between the two of us we shared 3 entrees and a vege dish with silken tofu, and then a yummy dessert. As I said, wonderful food, friendly staff - would go again!!
Highly recommended. Delicious and authentic! Great service. We had Phat Phed with chicken, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, green peppercorns and green beans. Although not indicated, the curry was VERY HOT but I still couldn't stop eating! A fresh coconut at the table was a wonderful addition to our meal. After very disappointing Thai food at a different restaurant recently, this was refreshing to find.
Best thai food in Sydney. My girlfriend and I love this authentic thai food restaurant on the top floor at Westfield Bondi Junction
Food is consistently superb and thai service is the best
Ingredients are fresh fresh fresh !! The chefs are top of their game
Really comfortable atmosphere makes this place one of our favourites
Great cocktails and comforting selection of quality pre meal drinks
Enjoy !!!
Great Crispy Duck. Came across this place by accident when in Westfields.
Myself and my family ,, who are all very fussy ... were pleasantly surprised.
The Tamarind Sauce Crispy duck is a must :-)
The interior design & atmosphere is beautiful.
The duck dish was amazing. Other items of menu were pretty good too. Service was reasonably quick & staff were attentive.
Good place to enjoy your lunch after shopping in the Westfield.
Decor and food are excellent. Service could be that little bit better. Pricing is pretty good given the rent they must be paying in Bondi Westfield.
Came in for lunch with colleagues, ordering was easy and the menu was extensive.
Food did take a while and took two follow ups with staff as they had forgotten two dishes.
Food wise, tasted pretty good. Hopefully better service next time around.
Delicious Thai food in a nice atmosphere. I had the Papaya salad, pumpkin curry, satay skewers, and Pad See Ew. I loved the Pad See Ew and will definitely get again. It's a little pricey however.
Best pad thai I have ever had! Why? Because the noodles were thin and ir soaked in all the amazing thai flavour.

This place has such an amazing fit out. The decor and tables are so nice.
Since it is located on westfield bondi junction, of course its gonna be pricey.
Amazing taste of food. Servings are not huge but still decent. For example a dish can serve 3 hungry people comfortably.
I love this place and customer service was nice.
I asked for veggie pad thai and she ask about the egg to be taken out. Which was amazing for me coz of my ezcema but I didn't think they would do that. So yeah so nice of them.
Food was delicious and delivered quickly. The staff were very polite and helpful. I wouldn't usually go to a dine-in restaurant that's inside a shopping centre but I am very glad I was invited to this one!
Very good green atmosphere, nice and delicious food, often wait to get in. Staff serve well, not very friendly or smiling tho.
The cocktail is also good for refreshing. Bit expensive.
This review is strictly biased with memories of pre COVID haydays where we could enjoy the world's best thai food finished with the all time favourite desert platter. Unfortunately the platter is still off the menu and can't wait to have it back. All the dishes are just the best so it is not hard but impossible to pick a favourite. I would definitely recommend this place to a Thai food connosier in Sydney and if you believe that you know a better place than Bolarn then please do let me know.
