Review Bo Larn - Bondi

Negin NRP
The interior design & atmosphere is beautiful. The duck dish was amazing. Other items of menu were pretty good too. Service was reasonably quick & staff were attentive. Good place to enjoy your lunch after shopping in the Westfield.
Matthew Yong-O'Gorman
Decor and food are excellent. Service could be that little bit better. Pricing is pretty good given the rent they must be paying in Bondi Westfield.

Came in for lunch with colleagues, ordering was easy and the menu was extensive. Food did take a while and took two follow ups with staff as they had forgotten two dishes. Food wise, tasted pretty good. Hopefully better service next time around.

Delicious Thai food in a nice atmosphere. I had the Papaya salad, pumpkin curry, satay skewers, and Pad See Ew. I loved the Pad See Ew and will definitely get again. It's a little pricey however.

Best pad thai I have ever had! Why? Because the noodles were thin and ir soaked in all the amazing thai flavour. Summary. Out of 5 stars. Customer service - 5/5 Price of food/drink - 3/5 Waiting time for food/drink - 4/5 Ambience - 5/5 Noise level - 5/5 Comfort and space - 5/5 Cleanliness - 5/5 Location - 5/5 Parking - 5/5 VALUE = 4/5 This place has such an amazing fit out. The decor and tables are so nice. Since it is located on westfield bondi junction, of course its gonna be pricey. Amazing taste of food. Servings are not huge but still decent. For example a dish can serve 3 hungry people comfortably. I love this place and customer service was nice. I asked for veggie pad thai and she ask about the egg to be taken out. Which was amazing for me coz of my ezcema but I didn't think they would do that. So yeah so nice of them.

Food was delicious and delivered quickly. The staff were very polite and helpful. I wouldn't usually go to a dine-in restaurant that's inside a shopping centre but I am very glad I was invited to this one!
Vero SHIN
Very good green atmosphere, nice and delicious food, often wait to get in. Staff serve well, not very friendly or smiling tho. The cocktail is also good for refreshing. Bit expensive.

This review is strictly biased with memories of pre COVID haydays where we could enjoy the world's best thai food finished with the all time favourite desert platter. Unfortunately the platter is still off the menu and can't wait to have it back. All the dishes are just the best so it is not hard but impossible to pick a favourite. I would definitely recommend this place to a Thai food connosier in Sydney and if you believe that you know a better place than Bolarn then please do let me know.

Extremely rude staff member (maybe manager) always sour faced. I was regular customer but I am not spending the money with people who treat you so bad. Have no respect for regular customers or appreciation. Last time I was there, they forgot one of the orders so my staff had to go back to work after waiting 30 mins during Lunch time. This time, could not get a table in a quieter area because I had to make an important business call, I was told that the area is closed even though they knew I was regular customer who kept bringing new people to the restaurant every time. Was planning to have monthly staff dinner (20 people) there as the food has always been good but not giving my money to a place where I am not appreciated as a loyal customer. I am not sure if the owner of the business knows what's actually going on during lunch hours but they would have so many more customers with a friendlier service staff.

My Husband and I come here often !!! The service is always great, the food even better! I highly recommend the mussel fritteršŸ˜‹ whole salted fish!šŸ˜‹ pad see ew omg everything we have is amazing!šŸ¤©

Iā€™ve been to this restaurant a number of times - food is always good but the service is hit and miss but tonight the service was awful. Food took forever and when I asked to take the remainder of my meal away I had plonked in the table containers and a bag to do it myself. It wasnā€™t that busy either! Not going to bother again - I can go around the corner for just as good food for half the price.

Disappointed with our dinner choice. As we hap to wait 40 minutes for our order don't know why as we were first in staff was EXTREMELY rude the portion size was criminally small it took 4 pp to make my G&T wouldn't recommend it certainly will not be returning.

This place is really great, me and my girlfriend come here often and every time we get a new dish it never disappoints. Its a bit more expensive than the standard Thai canteen but its worth every dollar as the food is superb! Great selection of classic and original Thai food, excellent cocktails and friendly staff.

Incredible food, very attentive and friendly staff. Food prices are really reasonable considering it's the best location to sit down and have a fresh meal, away from all the noisy crowds that hoard the food court downstairs . Must try the char grilled wagyu beef and roasted tomatoes , it's mind blowing .
Elaine Loke
Food is good but pretty expensive for what it was (portions are small). Staff was quite rude, forgot our orders, told us she will check but never came back. We never got half our orders after waiting for 45 mins.
Kylie Tan
Delicious, authentic Thai cuisine The food is fresh and tasty and well presented. Prices are reasonable. The staff are lovely. All of the staff are great but there is one woman there who works on Saturday night who is always attentive and goes the extra mile for people. She is the sweetest person I have ever met. The dƩcor is traditional Thai and makes you feel like you are in Thailand. We got the opportunity to speak with the chef a few weeks ago and he was happy to adjust a dish for us to accommodate a dietary requirement for one person in our group. Being close to public transport is very handy if we decide to have a drink. This is our go-to Thai restaurant.

Worst service Iv ever come across!! So 40 minutes after a group of us ordered everyone got there meal bar me I got my side of rice? (not even the rice I ordered but I bit my tongue) I was told mine was on the way so 15 minutes later when everyone was finished I called the girl over to cancel my order of chilli beef stir fri which woulda taken a whole 5 minutes to cook?!! She tried to argue that it was nearly ready blah blah but we were all leaving everyone had finished there meals a while by this stage, when we were paying they stubbornly would not knock my side of untouched rice off the bill and made us pay for it? What a joke full of rude staff.! Will not be going back!! I can't even comment on the food because it never came!
Lisa Avramis
Beautiful restaurant, great food and great service! Will be back again! Loved it and already recommended it to friends & fam!
Ziad Sayah-Haidamous
The Food is good but seriously the staff are all frowned no one looks happy at all. Are your staff getting good wages? Cause they all look like they there at Gunpoint. Thats the first time i went there and no way ill go back. Look after your staff well so they smile and make guests feel welcome.
Alfredo Jr Peralta
Worst service, Only two waitresses who constantly seat people on awkward tables in the middle of afternoon when the restaurant is half empty. Food is mediocre.

Totally enjoyed our meal tonight at Bolarn. Massaman Beef was absolutely superb and easily the best I've ever had. Our other dishes included Crying Tiger & Lamb Satay Skewers - all great! Excellent service, friendly feel to the place and good value. Can't wait till next time.

Horrible experience overall. Never returning!

I thought this place was great. We ordered the vegetarian green curry which was filling and had a kick to it. We also ordered the pad see ew with chicken which was full of flavour. Overall nice place for a romantic dinner.

One of the best Thai food Iā€™ve tried, however flavour is not authentic, slightly alter for Australian taste.<br/>Presentation is eye catching.<br/><br/>Crying tiger, as far as I know this dish it should be spicy, based on the ā€œlegendā€ if tiger try this dish makes the tiger cry... ( poor tiger šŸ˜› ļ¼‰<br/>You will have a non spicy, grilled Wagyu rump, sliced and served on bed of bokchoy.<br/><br/>Seafood Tom Yum, flavour was ok, they gave 2 pieces of big prawn, and lots of button mushroom.<br/>No other seafood apart from 2 prawns.<br/><br/>Duck red curry was sensational, served with lychee and pineapple on the curry.<br/>The best among 3 dishes!<br/><br/><br/>

This is a pretty okay spot inside Westfield Bondi Junction for Thai food. I really liked the oyster pancake and the green chicken curry. The pineapple fried rice and chicken satay were okay too. Overall, good place for lunch or dinner especially for groups.
Wei Zhuang
Found egg shell in a dish called roasted pumpkin and only received 10% discount, staff are not very friendly there, they do not look happy at the whole time. Great decoration, hope the service can be improved and food can be prepared with more care.

A place that is overhyped by its own menu and decor. The menu was such an exciting read as it carefully explains the flavour and taste of the items and attempts to link them to an authentic and exquisite Thai experience, enhanced by vivid images of street food vendors. However, the food disappoints in both their portions and quality. We got the:<br/>1. Turmeric Wafer: came with a sweet and spicy sauce which was quite tasty but this was more of a finger food than a starter - can be finished in one bite <br/>2. ā€œGrassā€ Noodle Pumpkin: this really just tasted like pad Thai but with glass noodle, good but nothing special <br/>3. Yellow Crab Curry: way too intense in flavour, and had too little crab meat to make it substantial. We got it to go and added coconut milk to it, and it actually tasted a lot better.<br/>In general, this place was overpriced and more about the decor than the food.
Patrick Jackson
Was excited before our visit, but disappointed with the food. Shame as I was thinking if impressed I would progressively eat through the menu, but it was sweet, contained low quality and low quantity proteins and there was a lack of balance in all sauces.<br/><br/>Mussamun had mashed potato in it. Enough said.<br/><br/>Service was friendly.
Mzlanah
Iā€™m in two minds about this place. The pricing is not proportionate to the servings. I found that the satay skewers came out with minimal satay sauce and hardly any chicken. The sweet and sour lamb ribs, which is charged at the price of a main - was tiny, but tasty. The crispy cashew chicken wasnā€™t crispy and was just fallen off batter amongst the chicken. The service also wasnā€™t great. It took a while for our orders to be taken, table to be cleared and for someone to even check back with us as to whether we wanted the bill or dessert.<br/><br/>Second visit:<br/>I came back to give this place another shot. The food was good, except for the Massaman lamb shank curry. The meat was dry and the curry was watered down and lacked flavour. The customer serviced has improved since my first visit.
Divya Paligaru
Perfect ambiance and the food was sublime. Each dish is authentic and they donā€™t overdo the presentation. We ordered satay, Bangkok tom yum, Chinese broccoli and pork belly and the green curry and jasmine fried rice!
Throughmytummy
Food: Small portions, with a lot of filler ingredients added (like onions and capsicum). The chefs are heavy handed on the sugar and everything tastes sweet. Overall the food is one dimensional and not reflective of authentic Thai food. Itā€™s also not good value for money. I feel with a bit of tweaks they could be a great restaurant. There isnā€™t much competition around so a missed opportunity if the restaurant doesnā€™t lift its game. <br/>Ordered:<br/>- Banana Chilli Chicken: bland and the chicken tasted a little weird....like it was old. Not much chicken. Lots of onions.<br/>- Caramalised pork belly: This dish is meant to be sweet....yet it was way too sweet<br/>- Tumeric wafers: Again sweet (the wafer was sweet) and came with a sweet sauce. Prawns were also non existent. <br/>- Black pepper soft shell crab: Again the sauce was more sweet than the a savory, spicy black pepper sauce you would expect. Not much in terms of crabs but it was crispy.<br/><br/><br/>Service: Very hit and miss. The waitresses generally look miserable and avoid eye contact...so you need to walk to them to get their attention. They are polite enough when you do get their attention. Some also have trouble with English which is a challenge if you need to ask anything about the menu.

Go to Thai in Eastern Suburbs, the restaurant is reasonably priced with a huge menu. The downfall is that its located in a shopping centre which has a negative effect on the atmosphere. That said the decor is fantastic with really friendly staff.Ā <br/><br/>The tom yum soup is extra spicy but delicious. The pork belly is a bit to chewy but comes with lots of vegetables. Cocktails and mocktails are fantastic

Stay Away. The worst service ever. Waited 30 minutes for water and then never got served from there. Spoke to 1 guy who's family waited 1 hour and still not served. When I asked for service they were unapologetic and clearly not experienced. Seats are all dirty. Stay Away

We came here with a cudo voucher and we found the food surprisingly good and we both walked out full.<br/><br/>Service was a bit slow at start and the staff didn't seem that friendly but we didn't let that bother us. Restaurant is very spacious and we sat in the booths. We had a glass of wine each and the highlight dishes was the scallops, ocean trout and the lamb cutlets. My husband really liked the dessert of coconut ice cream, sticky rice and sago where I thought it was average.<br/><br/>I wouldn't mind coming back to try their a la carte menu.

Tried the seven course set with living social voucher ($50). Nice variety of food and good quantity. One of my best voucher experience. Inside of the restaurant looks nice with all the flowers
Maureen Grace Kuran
one of my favourite thai restaurant. A bit pricey but the food are amazingly delicious. they have a variety of thai cuisines to choose from and they are spot on delicious. They also have a mini bar where you can order a refreshing cocktails. The ambience is very good considering it's in westfield. It's a good restaurant to try when you're in westfield bondi junction. Recommended!

Food is relatively good. Hope the chef can consider not adding MSG into the dishes. I was really thirty after the food. Hope the chef will consider other subsitutes for MSG.
Mischa
Food was not consistent with what was shown in the menu. The yellow crab curry in particular had no real flavour, texture or any crab meat. Quality of the food was bad.
Paella World
One of the superior Thai places around without a hideous price tag. Authentic and full of flavour, with some unusual dishes on the menu. Decent wine list too.
Rain Drop
Me and my partner had dinner here last week. we started off with pork skewers which were literally pork fat on a stick.. We also ordered Masaman Beef and pad See eiw. The noodles were ok but nothing special. The beef in the Massaman was really dry and tough to eat. I didn't bother having anymore after the first bite. I also ordered a watermelon juice. It was served warm and had barely any taste to it. it was like they used an old melon or something. Im sure its ok on some days but it wasn't the worth the money spent and it'll prbably be the last time i visit.
Shoe Movers Sales
Service was so slow. Drink order wrong twice. We were there for nearly 2 hours at the end of a film afternoon - too long. There was no urgency to get anything done. Will not return.

Food was excellent quality, reasonably priced, with beautiful restaurant decor. The only thing which was slightly annoying was food coming out at different times I ate with a friend and his main came out 5 mins before mine did so was nearly done when I got mine. I would still recommend goin here for food tho

Bo Larn Thai in Westfields Bondi Junction is rather resplendent. Lilac flowers hang from the ceiling and the restaurant is decked out in every corner with lush green plant foliage. Their menu spans over 10 pages and is crammed with all manner of delectable-sounding dishes. Itā€™s overwhelming if you cannot decide what to eat but here is a guide to help you on your way.
Coffeebrunchanddinner
This Thai restaurant and bar is located on the level below event cinemas at Westfield. We went for a quick dinner before the movies and loved it! The decor is stunning and you discover more and more as you look around you. We went for the pork skewers and the caramelised rice paper for entrees. The pork skewers were delicious and add sticky rice for $3. The caramelised rice paper rolls were not to our taste. For mains we had green curry and the sticky lamb ribs. The green curry was a generous serve and had a good amount of spice with the option to add more chilli - be sure to order a serve of rice to have with the delicious sauce. The lamb ribs were sticky and succulent however not a large meal so pair with something else. Bo Larn would be perfect for couples or groups and is some of the best Thai we have had in Bondi Junction.
HurryDaFoodup
This place has some unique twists on old classics. We had the massamun lamb, the softshell crab curry, the turmeric chicken and the lamb short ribs. Everything was so well prepared and garnished. It tasted as good or even better than it looked! The ambience and decor of the place is something special. It's big enough for big parties of people and intimate enough for a quiet date night. The service was excellent as well and the food came out quicker than expected. <br/><br/>The only take away was that it's expensive. Cost us about $47 per head. For thai that's expensive but considering the food, service and the fact it was located in bondi junction - I guess that's to be expected. Great for special occasions<br/><br/>Overall fantastic experience! Will be coming back here for thai :)<br/>

BEWARE ** We read a few google reviews before arriving and the service was rated pretty poor but the food was suppose to be good. So we took a chance ! Beware We ordered duck curry, beef brisket and vegetable dish with rice. We noticed that our beef never came, however the beef was given to the table next to us whom<br/>We noticed that they picked through. <br/>when we chased them up, the waitress frantically started pacing and realized her mistake. She then retrieved the beef dish returned it in the kitchen and 15 minutes later she brought out the same dish !! <br/><br/>There were tons more garnish thrown on it and the plate was piping hot ! Garnish was thrown on top to cover the meat pieces that was picked apart by the people next to us. And it was clearly microwaved. <br/><br/>When we asked for the manager, she denied it while she was taking it away. She was super rude and was obviously caught guilty of recycling the dish. When asked for the owner she said that he doesent go there often. So pretty much a mismanaged joint. Shame, cause the chefs know what they are doing unfortunately the front of house does not.<br/><br/>It took about an hour and a half and it was a very poor experience give it a miss !

My first time visit to this Thai oasis well located near Event Cinemas for a bite to eat before a movie. Love theĀ decor and friendly service. The menu looks so interesting withĀ lots of dishes I've never hear of before but tempt me to try. The prices seem quite reasonable too and we spotted lots of great looking dishes coming out of the kitchen while we dined. This time around it's just a quick bite to eat with the Mrs on our date night away from the kids.Ā Betel leaf with poached prawn ($4 each) are wellĀ presented and tasty. Definitely would get these again.Ā Chicken Satay ($12, 8 pieces) are smallish but tender and go well with someĀ Steamed Rice ($3) as a simple meal. Next time I'd definitely want to try the Mussel Pancake andĀ Tumeric Wafers that sound intriguing. I love how there's free parking with entry after 6 pm too so there's not rush and worry about parking.

Good food for quick lunch. Fresh , good size meal, hot n spicy. Beats a salad n sandwich, with food hot and consistent. Price ok. No16 salmon and fried rice good choice.

First time here. Came on the strength of recommendations on Zomato. Food was fabulous! As Thai aficionados of 30+ years my wife and I both thought best we had ever had - high praise indeed (but we are from Melbourne, Sydneysiders!). Will come back.

I actually love this place.Ā This is a favourite of my sister and myself. Food is excellent. Try the red curry with duck, and the wagyu beef salad. Really good! You really can't compare it to other thai joints as it is different in its taste. Well balanced meal, and very very very tasty.
Kimberley Low
Probably the most beautiful and tastiest yet also most underrated Thai restaurant in Sydney - I've been here many times and the food is always incredible!
Adam
Well the food is surprisingly good here. After many times of passing this resturant and it being empty, by chance I needed to kill some time before a movie. Personally I think Thai food has suffered a similar fate to that of Chinese food in the 90's it's become boring and lost its identity to commercialism. I think Bo Larn actually has something different to offer. The food is great and generally well presented. However service is bad and the waiters are not engaging and the table setting is really bad. Shane as the decor is done well.
Pollo_pesce_me
I love the restaurant's beautiful decors and romantic ambience. After greeted by a friendly waitress we started our meals with two entree dishes - betal leaf prawn and mango salad with softshell crab; both dishes were really good. Betal leaf had great chewy texture along with sweet and sour flavors. Loved Mango salad it was so zesty and flavorful and the accompanied softshell crab was warm and crispy.Ā  For main we had Turmeric chicken skewers which were cooked in charcoal, the meat was so succulent and juicy.Ā  We also ordered whole snapper choo chee which was also good; fishes were cooked nice and crispy topped with rich red curry sauce.<br/>Service was attentive and friendly and food came out really fast.Ā  The place wasnā€™t very busy but still I was surprised how efficient the service was.<br/>All in all great restaurant with delicious food, fast service and well priced meals.Ā  Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in a mood for Thai food.
Matt Masterson
Good food, woeful service!! Obviously killing it in the kitchen but employing friends, family or investors on the floor! Took 45min to get water in the table, 3x requests (45mins again)until we got glasses for our bottle of wine then had to take the bottle to the bar myself to get it opened! Had three meals we didn't order arrive at our table throughout he meal and when only one portion of the two ordered of the tapioca dumplings arrived we questioned that we ordered one more so they actually "ordered" us "one more" and we had an extra which would have been too frustrating to try send back so we dealt with it!<br/>When dishes arrived, waitress couldn't understand 'vegetarian' to differentiate between two of the dishes and when one meal came without egg net as on menu(which we were eventually told they were too busy to do (on a Wednesday night?) we asked for menu to check the name and waitress didn't understand 'menu' (even with charade like gesturing). Overall the food was good but service made he difference between recommending and making it a favourite to just going once in a while to eat and put up with the inexperience and incompetence of the service:(
FoodlyDoodly
Decent restaurants and shopping centres don't mix. If you don't believe me ask Justin North or the owners of Xanthi. Who would take a loved one for a romantic dinner at a place where the toilets are round the corner byĀ the Boost juice and mobile phone repair shop.Ā . Bo Larn at Westfield Bondi Junction attempts to straddle the divide between food court and proper restaurant. Located a level above the main foodcourt, Bo Larn occupies a large space that's tastefully fit-out in pastel green bambooĀ but, as it opens out onto the Westfield, it struggles sometimes to maintain the ambience. Behind the counter in the open kitchen are a surprisingly large team of chefs in immaculate whites, and front of house are a team of friendly although mostly silent waitresses.

Came here before watching the new James Bond movie: Spectre today. I had the Chilli Black with soft-shell crabs and pepper sauce. The crab was so succulent and everything else in the dish went well together. The restaurant was very elegant inside, especially for a Thai restaurant. Then again, it's located in Westfield Bondi and so, the place needs to appeal to the affluent crowd. Prices are reasonable and I highly recommend this joint to all.
Renny Beazley
Bo Larn is my absolute favourite place to eat in Bondi Junction. The quality of food is phenomenal and the service is great. The prices are fair considering the atmosphere, service and quality of food. I recommend the crispy duck and the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly, you cannot go wrong!

FOOD QUALITY<br/>12 of us dined here for my wifeā€™s birthday and we couldnā€™t have been happier with the food. We ordered a selection of starters for everyone to share including lamb skewers, chicken satay skewers, corn fritters and curry puffs, and then let everyone choose their own mains. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and served to the table in generous portions on stylish white crockery or wooden boards. My grilled chicken was cooked thoroughly, just the way I like it and with a generous serving of crunchy vegetables. My wifeā€™s lamb ribs were soft and tender. There wasnā€™t a complaint to be heard around the table. And thatā€™s no mean feat with 12 fussy eaters.<br/><br/>ATMOSPHERE<br/>The place has been tastefully decked out in soothing pastel shades with exotic oriental art and floral displays. The effect is an elegant and stylish looking restaurant that at the same time feels relaxed and intimate but also buzzes with atmosphere as well. On the night that we dined, the place was almost full, so that added warmth and vibrancy to it. Clearly, the owners have spared no expense in creating a homely and inviting space for patrons and I believe, judging by the crowds on a Saturday night, theyā€™ve succeeded in this endeavour.<br/><br/>SERVICE<br/>I have only praise for the bevvy of pretty, slender waitresses in their smart beige and turquoise uniforms who served us. It was an all-female cast from the maitre d' to the order takers and food deliverers and each one of them was helpful, courteous and polite. And it took a lot of patience to deal with a table like ours with 12 indecisive, picky diners, but they handled it in an exemplary, calm fashion. Our booked table was ready and waiting when we arrived ā€“ and in a convenient position at the back of the restaurant, giving us plenty of room to spread out. Orders were promptly taken and the food came out quickly and in the correct order. They didnā€™t miss a beat and for that I was grateful, as the organiser of this gathering.<br/><br/>MENU<br/>The food menu is enclosed in a thick, heavy wooden binder, making it awkward to read and get to grips with. The layout also confused me with elaborate pictures of each dish taking up too much space and making the whole structure too cumbersome. The drinks menu, in tiny print on a kind of mini clipboard, was impossible to read in the dim lighting. A simpler, cleaner style of menu in large print would make it a lot easier to handle.<br/><br/>TOILETS<br/>There are no toilets in the restaurant per se, but being at the Westfield Shopping Centre there are plenty just outside. And as one would expect theyā€™re clean and well provisioned.<br/><br/>ACOUSTICS<br/>Despite it being nearly a full house, we had no trouble in conversing. Tables are well spaced out and the soft furnishings help to mitigate any noise. In any event most of the other diners were quiet and well behaved. Itā€™s that kind of place, where everyone is in a laid back, relaxed mood.<br/><br/>COST <br/>Despite the upmarket location and elegant style, prices are reasonable. Starters rage from $10-$12 for a serving of four pieces and mains range from $18-$24. So even with a few drinks thrown in, you can still get away with about $30-$35 a head and you wonā€™t leave here hungry! <br/><br/>BOOKING<br/>Definitely recommended for weekend dining. As itā€™s a large place with room for maybe 100 diners, I wouldnā€™t think that youā€™d need to book for week nights. <br/><br/>PARKING/ACCESS<br/>Easy at Westfield, where there is free parking after 7.00pm. Before 7.00pm, you get two hours free.<br/><br/>SUMMARY<br/>Bo Larn excels at every level. The food was fresh and tasty and served in generous portions, the ambience was perfect and you canā€™t go past this place for efficient, friendly service and value for money. The Westfield Shopping Centre provides a safe, comfortable and accessible environment with ample parking. Bo Larn is highly recommended. Itā€™s a welcome addition to the Westfield-Bondi Junction dining scene and I'm sure we'll be back. My only suggestion would be a simpler and smaller menu and a decent website to highlight its many positive attributes.

Best thai food in sydney. Amazing food!!! I eat a lot of Asian food and this is by far the best food and best menu choice. Me n my housemate eat here at least once a week. <br/>The service has improved greatly over the time we have been coming here and now is actually good. But the food is so amazing anyways it never really bothered us!
Amanda Louise
Absolutely wonderful!! I don't know what the other reviews were talking about, or something has definitely changed, because service was fantastic ! Food came out very quickly and all the staff were constantly buzzing around. The food was wonderful. Between the two of us we shared 3 entrees and a vege dish with silken tofu, and then a yummy dessert. As I said, wonderful food, friendly staff - would go again!!
Synergy222
50 minute wait for entree. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review on a restaurant!! I hate that it's a negative comment but the service was so appalling I had to say something. We ordered 3 entrees and two mains. 50 minutes later we received one entree with no other in sight! We decided to leave. There was no apology. Just a $12 charge for the entree we did receive. But they wouldn't let us pay by card because there was a $20 minimum! We saw others leave with complaint. Please don't go, especially if you have a movie to watch!

Best Thai in Eastern Subburbs. This place is really great, we come here often and every time I get a new dish it never disappoints. Its a bit more expensive than the standard Thai canteen but its worth every dollar as the food is superb! Great selection of classic and original Thai food, excellent cocktails and friendly staff.

Raw chicken. Slowest and incompetent waitresses. First my salad was taken away without being asked if I was done with it (only had one bite of it), then asked for a refill of water for the table and got one glass (2 other guests with me also had their glass empty) but the waitress seemed oblivious. Had to ask one more time and she only brought one again so I gave up. The scallops were completely raw and unseasoned. The worst was yet to come. Ordered the chicken from the grill, came out raw. Went to pay the bill to the rudest arrogant cashier who couldn't care less that the chicken was not cooked.<br/><br/>Never coming back!!
Food By La
Highly recommended. Delicious and authentic! Great service. We had Phat Phed with chicken, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, green peppercorns and green beans. Although not indicated, the curry was VERY HOT but I still couldn't stop eating! A fresh coconut at the table was a wonderful addition to our meal. After very disappointing Thai food at a different restaurant recently, this was refreshing to find.
Journey-fromwithin
My ultimate favourite dish that I order without fail every time I come. The chicken is juicy and succulent, the charcoal is evident and that is what draws me so much into this dish. Dipping into the smoked chilli tamarind sauce really gives the chicken that great kick in flavour.

Not Yellow Crab Curry !!. I ordered Yellow Crab Curry . I thought that the yellow curry would be milder . What I got was a red curry, so hot that there was no way I could taste my $29.00 crab ( what pieces one could find ). Upon querying with 3 different staff members , I was told that although it looked red , it was yellow curry !! <br/>I asked them to compare the colour in my dish with the colour on the menu. Got me no where. In fact , the more we talked , the less they listened. They just walked away. Now I know the Thai's avoid conflict , but when a customer complains, they deserve a decent answer. These people just don't seem to care. We didn't say anything about the stringy caramelised pork belly. Not going back !!

Rude waitress, poor service and tasteless food. Today me and a few friends went to eat a early dinner at Bo Larn we didn't have a booking so the waitress who was searing us told us that we had to be finished by 5.30. I found this to be quite rude, but regardless we decided to stay and eat. The waitress's all avoided eye contact and had to be called over after elongated waiting! The waitress who served us was extremely rude and did not write down the order. When the food came out there was an extra plate that we had not ordered, when I told the waitress we did not order the dish her respose was 'yes you did' I pointed out to her that there was only 3 people at the table and we would not order 4 dishes to which she replied 'you did order that you don't even know what you ordered let me show you' pointing at the menu on the menu. After going back and fourth a few times I told her I was not paying for the extra dish that I did not order so she rolled her eyes and took the meal away. When I came to pay the bill this extra dish was listed I was very angry. This was a horrible experience I will never go back and do not recommended anyone else to

Unhappy Customer. We went to the restaurant on 15/11/2014 with a voucher. The voucher included beef for the main dish. We requested for an alternative dish as we do not eat Beef. Our request was outrightly rejected. Finally after driving for 1.5 hrs and paying the money, we couldn't eat the main dish, which was served to us. Something for customer service !!!! Would never recommend this place, Customer Service Sucks :(((

Authentic Thai flavors and a wonderful ambience. Whatā€™s not to like about Bo Larn. Try the somtum and grilled chicken it took me back to Thailand. The moo ping (grilled pork) is great for the kids. I will be back to sample some of the other dishes. If you like the food at Chat Thai, Na Bangkok, Similan and the others in Thai Town then you will like Bo Larn.

Best thai food in Sydney. My girlfriend and I love this authentic thai food restaurant on the top floor at Westfield Bondi Junction<br/>Food is consistently superb and thai service is the best <br/>Ingredients are fresh fresh fresh !! The chefs are top of their game<br/>Really comfortable atmosphere makes this place one of our favourites<br/>Great cocktails and comforting selection of quality pre meal drinks <br/>Enjoy !!!

Hello, service please!!. Wow, the place looked to nice. <br/>Odd that out of the three of us only one was offered a welcome drink - were the other two perhaps not welcome? :P<br/>We squinted to read the menu in 7 point font and ordered cocktails when we could finally flag down a very relaxed waitress (of which there were plenty - none of them making eye contact with the few occupied tables as it may involve them working). Menus whisked away we never saw one again.<br/>Drink service was of some strange order. Tables that got seated after us got their drinks first. Three cocktails were delivered to our table at three different times. By the time the second cocktail was delivered the person with the first cocktail had drunk it all, by the time the third cocktail was delivered the first two people were finished. At no point was a second drink offered, nor the up sell of food to go with our drinks. Very strange. Got out for there.

Lunch. My husband and I went for lunch today 17th march at Bo Larn. The restaurant was empty at 1420. We were greeted and given menus for food and drinks. I ordered the salmon but was told by the waiter the eggplant included was not available which I accepted and proceeded with our order. I was then surprised when a second waiter came to tell me the salmon was not available as the delivery never arrived this morning. Amazing for a new restaurant that both ingredients for the same dish not available. With that we both walked out.<br/><br/>Come on Bo larn get your act together if you are to survive in this competitive business. There are a lot of restaurants out there.
