Review The Corner House - Bondi

Kyle Fuller
We dropped into the Corner house while we were in the area. The restaurant is intimately set with a great cocktail menu and a decent wine selection. We grabbed a starter and two mains to share. They were all excellent and perfectly sized. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would dine again and recommend this restaurant.

Went for dinner last night. The staff had welcoming smiles and got us to our table promptly. The server approached 3 or 4 times to ask what we would like to order (maybe one too many but that's far better than one approach 30 minutes after we've arrived). The food was delicious - we had the gnocchi and the Daniella pizza. Both had fantastic flavours that I will definitely be coming back for. Highly recommend. There was slightly too long a period between being served the starter (burrata which was also fantastic) and the mains. The atmosphere and the decor inside is warm and inviting. Everyone was having a fun time and chattering away. Good vibes 😊

Such a happening place and awesome vibes. The staff is super friendly and accomodating. A must visit place to enjoy the music and cocktails with wood fired pizza.

All of it was amazing. Great menu selection and that pretty much all can be made gluten free. The staff were warm and welcoming, great ambience, cocktails and wine selection. Will absolutely be back with friends and family.

Went in for dinner with my partner. Good greeting, decent service, had to go look for someone to come take our order but that’s okay. Entree, pizza and wine were all great. Tuna steak was very over cooked. We didn’t want to make a fuss about it and just ate it. At the counter while paying the bill when asked how everything was I said it was all great just some feedback for kitchen that the tuna was over cooked. She looked at us as if she didn’t believe us, she then asked my partner what he thought of it and he said it was over cooked too. It was supposed to be feedback we didn’t want/ asked for a discount or anything. She got all Cold and said I will give you a 10% discount on tuna i.e $3.4 on a $120 Bill. Honestly I didn’t care about the over cooked food or the discount. I am upset about the way it was handled. $3.4 discount seems like shut up. And we didn’t even ask for it or want it. My partner got flustered and just paid. Which I was mad about because it wasn’t about the discount we were just giving honest feedback. It was handled poorly and we were made to feel like idiots.

Had dinner downstairs which was very good. We enjoined the meal and I left a tip to our waiter. Then went upstairs to have a few drinks. The bartender filled up shots measuring cup once out of three times I was buying drinks. It’s very simple. Either the cup is full or it’s not. Pretty cheap move. Still was a good night.

I recently had my 30th birthday at The Corner House. It was very affordable. The function room felt so private I didn't feel like the staff were ever breathing down our throats. They were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Double booked the venue for my friends 30th and pushed out 40 person group into their small side room even though we had booked it 3 weeks prior. Was very cramped and loud which took away from what was going to be a good night. Food was good, drinks were decent. Just poor event management.

Pretty sweet place for a drink, cool upstairs, all tho the $20 steak was the worst meal I've had in Bondi... Wouldn't recommend to eat.

I came with a group of friends from overseas and half the meals came and the other half came 30 minutes later. 1 meal didn't come and when asked about it the waitress was so rude, swore and yelled at the table. I've never been spoken to so rudely by anyone and really disappointed with the service.

I love this place. The food is so delicious and consistent. Have never had a bad meal. Everyone is incredibly friendly and service is fantastic.

Outstanding food, drinks and dessert! Perfect spot for a chilled night out or a function

Great meal, nice vibe, awesome staff. Would definitely recommend

Excellent venue upstairs with own bar for 30ish people - very viby and cool! fabulous beetroot dip and tzadziki and chips to die for! Jarad pours a mean soda too. Thankyou!

Wonderful food if you are in the area it is worth a visit. Just wish the serving was a little bigger only because I liked it that much I didn't want to reach the bottom of the bowl.

It's not often I swear or use the word "hate" but I can honestly say I f*cking hated my experience at your restaurant. My meal was drier than a page of Oscar Wilde wittisicms pinned to a rock in the Sahara desert and my waiter was incredibly strange. I don't know about you but I do not enjoy sitting down for a meal and having another man lean into my ear and tell me that he puts marbles under his foreskin to make him feel like his penis is a powerful warlock staff, nor did I wish to know that his favourite hobby is blowing raspberries on his sisters stomach and that is why she doesn't let him anywhere near her. I thought the decor and the ambience in the restaurant were first class but until you resolve the issues with the food and wait staff you will never get anywhere.

Enjoyed an awesome Sunday roast there today. Great choices of ingredients, very good take on a summer roast. Kudos to the chef

This place is just too cool! .

This place has a lot going for it .. vibe and decor is 5 out of 5, but review weights heavily towards food which was very average. We tried the eggplant and olive pasta and the roast of the day special ... Both edible but nothing special...

I went to the corner house for a late lunch! The minute we got there, we were greeted by their super friendly staff with some great banter 👌🏼 we had the zucchini flowers which were to die for, followed by the spaghetti vongole which I really enjoyed! They also have wildfire pizzas which are pretty good! We sat outside as the weather was great and did a bit of Bondi people watching! Overall a great experience 👌🏼

What an awesome experience! Loved the service and the cocktails. You can’t beat the vibe on a Saturday night. High energy and a menu to match. Zucchini flowers, yes. Olives, yes. Halloumi, yes. Enjoy it all, you can’t go wrong!

I was really disappointed with my experience. I ordered a take away Ben buckler pizza for a whopping $26. Upon arrival I was informed that the menu advertised on the website was wrong and that the base was not pesto but tomato, and that this was the only error. They acted as if this was not a big deal, when it is a huge one. I later found that they lied to me when I realised that not only was the base wrong, but it was also missing caramelised onion. However unprofessional this menu fault is I might have been more forgiving if the staff were not so rude when I picked up the pizza. The pizza itself was average, culminating in a poor experience overall.

Four of us dined on a Sunday night in early Jan. We were enticed by the offer of a free bottle of wine for tables of four or more, so first up was our freebie, a bottle of “Shy Pig” Sauvignon Blanc. A quick check on Google reveals that you can pick up this cheap plonk for around $7 a bottle online, if you can find it. I’m no wine connoisseur, but this stuff tasted like vinegar and gave me a headache afterwards. It doesn’t even feature on their drinks menu. A better option, to save yourself a few bucks, is to use your Ent Book card for a 25% discount up to a generous $40. <br/><br/>The food style is mainly Italian, with a small, but adequate menu, with entrees, pizzas, pastas and a couple of dessert choices. We ordered a selection of entrees including arancini, haloumi, burrata and beet, and a single pizza and shared it all. The most popular dish of the night, were the arancini balls: five large round balls with a crispy coating and a soft, creamy mushroom risotto filling. So nice, that we ordered a second one. The haloumi was firm and tasty, but the other two entree dishes were disappointing. The beet was pretty tiny, and the burrata, a cheesy mixture, with eggplant, tomatoes and pine nuts was rather tasteless, and came with two pieces of burnt toast. The “gonzo 2.0” pizza was decent enough, with a chewy base, topped with cheese, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, sun-dried tomato and basil.<br/><br/>The pricing structure seemed a bit odd. $10 for a generous serve of arancini, $18 for the burrata and the haloumi, which were smaller, and $14 for the beet dish, which was smaller still. The pizza wasn’t huge for $25. Overall, the food was a bit of a mixed bag, but all had fresh, high quality ingredients and were nicely presented to the table on stylish crockery. <br/><br/>The ambience is cool, relaxed and casual, with three separate sections: Two dining areas downstairs, and a bar upstairs. The front part downstairs, facing the street, was quite noisy with loud music playing, but the other, at the back, where we sat, was quieter, despite a healthy turnout, with most tables occupied. We didn’t have too much trouble conversing, although it must be said that this is potentially a noisy space, with it’s uncarpeted wooden floors, and little in the way of sound absorbers. One or two rowdy tables could ruin an evening here. We were lucky, as all the other diners around us were quiet and well behaved.<br/><br/>The decor and layout are fairly minimalist, but tasteful with aforementioned wooden floors, wooden furniture and very low hanging lamps (watch your head) and black and white historical pics on the back wall.<br/><br/>But it’s in the service department where these guys really excel. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a delightful, friendly Spanish waitress, and shown to our booked table, a nice one in the back room, with comfy lounge type couches against the wall. Our orders were smartly taken, and the dishes came out super quickly, in the correct order: That’s just the way I like it. There were three waiters on duty, the Spanish lady, and two gents. They were all friendly, helpful and attentive, and for this reason alone, we will probably return.<br/><br/>There is a single unisex toilet downstairs and more modern ones upstairs, with separate male and female cubicles. They’re all clean and well provisioned, but the upstairs ones are very dark. <br/><br/>We paid $95, for the five shared entrees and the single pizza, with the bottle of plonk, thrown in for free. Next time I’ll use my Ent Book card and get 25% off, because to be honest, this place is a tad expensive for the small helpings you get.<br/><br/>But despite my own misgivings, C.H. seems quite popular with the locals, so booking ahead is advised and you can do this quickly and easily on their website via the Quandoo booking app. <br/><br/>Corner House, as its name suggests is at the corner of Bondi Road and Denham Street, opp the Royal Hotel, at the spot where the “Old Castille” pizza joint used to be for many years. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but we were lucky to find a two-hour spot (yes, restrictions apply even on Sundays up till 10pm, so thanks to Wav Council for making our lives so easy!) on the opp corner of Bondi Road.<br/><br/>Overall, we had a pleasant evening here and it all went smoothly. The free wine offer was a dud, but the food was decent enough. The ambience was laid back and relaxed and the service was outstanding. Probably worth another shot at it.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Bondi, the pizza is always fantastic.<br/><br/>The atmosphere is friendly, we have been in groups and as a couple both are great. There are a number of different seating areas where you can tuck yourself away.<br/><br/>Service is exactly what you want for casual dining, super attentive and they are happy to spend time and have a chat.<br/><br/>Wine list is between 50-80 dollars on the red with a great European selection if that’s what your into, one of the only places you can get Rioja in Bondi 👌🏽<br/><br/>Shout out to Neilson who made us feel extra welcome tonight.<br/><br/>Highly recommend.

Delicious food and lovely customer service. For dinner the place is dimly lit and has a soft atmosphere. Plenty of locals around dining and they do $30 dinner plus wine specials. I would definitely visit again.

Great dinner at The Corner House. We shared the school prawns and aioli chips for entree, vongole pasta for main and tiramisu for dessert. All were a hit. The favorite was probably the deep fried school prawns, they were so addictive! Good service and nice atmosphere
FoodComaSydney
Went here for a Sunday casual dinner, had a couple of friends in tow, the lads ordered the roast with glass of wine for $30 and the gals ordered the Alaskan crab spaghettini. I would've scored them much better if the roast was a heartier serving, the spaghettini was cooked a bit more and if food service wasn't so slow (we were all wondering what was taking the roast so long to dish up)!!

Went here for a birthday celebration last night and I thought it was fantastic... Delicious food! Nice sharing options as well as individual dishes. Great service too. Highly recommend :)

There we were, wife and I, hungry after running the soft sand at the local derby of the North Bondi Barefoot. Dinner in, order the Ben Buckler pizza from the Corner House - a truly great combination, worthy of Sicily. Bring it home, one bite, two bites, something missing - the salty pungency of white anchovies. Chef, management - substituting capers is cheap and limp.

The Corner House was a favourite of mine back three years ago when I was living in Bondi. Great food, with a bar on the second floor and a DJ playing every Sunday. Taking advantage of being back in Bondi, I made a booking at The Corner House. Just as good as I remembered, super friendly staff, yummy food and that relaxed Bondi vibe we all love. Ordering the Crowded House Pizza, Daniella Pizza (my favourite), fish, Steak and the beetroot salad which is a delicious work of art. My only disappointment they’re not serving scissors with the pizza for you to cut them yourselves any more.

Popped in one night without a booking and were able to get seated for two within ten minutes. Within 15 mins there was a line up for tables so be prepared. The cheery waitress was knowledgeable of both the food and suggested a couple of wines to us by the glass that were very pleasant. The food was of a decent standard for the price entrees ordered were aroncini balls and oysters to share all $3.50 ea. mains ordered were the lamb and the Gnocci which were above average prices were round $30. Rated based on price, the produce used were of quality , didn't knock my socks though. Definitely would come back.

Great little eaterie on the corner in Bondi. The food and wine was excellent - with a basic 5-6 items per "style" of choice, but each one interesting and unique.<br/><br/>Friendly staff and good atmosphere make this place a must for a casual hang out in Bondi.
Emma
I love the vibes at the Corner House. The staff are super friendly, great location and a really laid back atmosphere inside. We ate downstairs before heading up to the bar upstairs for a few more drinks. The food was pretty good- both dishes missing just a little something but really nothing to complain too much about. Will definitely be back to the Corner House.

First visit .....Loved it. Super friendly service. Enjoyed everything we ate...oysters, salad..really good salami pizza and fantastic roasted cauliflower dish. <br/><br/>Second visit...ordered salami pizza and cauliflower salad again..neither were as great as we remembered. Nice...but not outstanding....are you guys skimping on the dressing or olive oil ?. Still a good spot.

I went to dinner at the corner house with a friend as a catch up. I ordered the hairloom tomato salad and the spicy salami pizza.<br/><br/>The pizza was super oily/greasy, after a couple of slices it was just too much. The hairloom tomato salad was small and OK, a bit overpriced for the portion size.<br/><br/>Service was decent.

Excelente!!! Fantastic. Cosy and intimate. Great place for dates, dinner with the girls or even just with mum. Amazing food! We had the cauliflower with cheese and almonds, delicious. Then pizza Daniella and pizza Gozo, both great, perfect crunchy thin base. Lovely and friendly service. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly with us! Loved this place. Definitely will come back! :-)

The menu rotates every four to five weeks, but I’m told the local favourite is the roasted mulloway with sweetcorn and celeriac puree and golden fennel butter, which has been on the menu since day one. For dessert, the crème Catalan comes recommended – much like its French comrade, the brulée, infused with orange and cinnamon.

Fabulous. And best gluten free base ever!!. This place is just brilliant. Food and service continue to impress. Corner house is one of my favs. Menu is brilliant. And the pizza menu is great as well. Best gf base I ever had!!! The Ben buckler pizza is the best!!<br/><br/>If only two of you try and get a sit at the window on bar stools.

I’m so glad the wine was fantastic and certainly match the standard of The Shop. The food was good and if you like Love Supreme in Paddington you will enjoy The Corner House. It wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had but it was fresh and the flavours were subtle yet satisfying. You’re given pizza scissors to cut your own slices which I love (anything that allows you to interact with your food)! The service was good though we did feel as though we were being rushed towards the end to finish our drinks and get out for the next sitting. Upsta

The “you’re hot, let us drink” date...This spot is pretty sceney, I absolutely love it through...Must order: Chesse platter!

The service was very accommodating. Our visit to The Corner House was unplanned and when we turned up the place was packed, yet they still managed to fit us in with a smile. Orders were taken promptly and food was delivered straight from the oven in reasonable time.

True to its name, a series of well-styled rooms and pokey corners make up this ‘house’ of Italian eats, with its eclectic mix of modern treatments and array of homey touches, such as the pegged paper menu and a simple closet bathroom beneath the stairs. The staff are smiling and cheeky, and our waiter has the comic finesse of a circus performer, tipping his panama hat to passing diners as he ushers us upstairs to the ‘living room’ for pre-dinner drinks. From behind giant jars of olives, the barmen craft for us their pick from the cocktail list – the  ‘Storming Jalisco Mule’ , a refreshing mix of  homemade ginger ale, agave and tequila  (all cocktails are $16). There’s also an interesting medley of wines on the menu, which are classed to the order of ‘safe’, ‘adventurous’ or ‘crowd pleasing’. If, at this stage, you’re happy lounging and feeling less inclined to move after a few ‘mules’, as they’re known, the kitchen can deliver a selection of gourmet woo

The Corner House on Bondi Rd has one of the best pizzas I've ever tried, called 'Crowded House' which is essentially one large pizza with a different flavour on every quarter. A quarter is piled with spicy salami, provolone cheese and kalamata olives. The next quarter is covered in sauteed mushrooms, cheese and roasted garlic. Next stop is Cheese Central: provolone cheese, torn buffalo mozzarella, basil and olive oil. The final quarter (and the best) is topped with white anchovies, provolone cheese and caramelised brown onio

The house it the white building covered in vines with the inside walls adorned with wine bottles, the idyllic setting for a slice of pizza (or 8). The pizzas here are reflective of the venue – simple, beautiful and full of the best ingredients and perfectly prepared. My favourite is the Danielle Pizza, a thin crust base with light lashings provolone and parmesan cheese, fresh asparagus and crisp prosciutto, all subtly lathered in a truffle oil, oink oink! The corner house is the home to the perfect cocktail too, so pack up the pigs and watch the world go by from their upstairs bar on Bondi Road.

Bondi’s latest digs have set up shop on the south side of the famed suburb, plating up rustic Italian dishes that will make your mouth water and your heart melt. The menu includes slow-cooked roasts and seasonal dishes, with a rotating blackboard specials list.
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
This week I'm stocking up on some well-earned rest and recuperation, luckily the intrepid Alex Harmon is still on her toes, she's done a bit of bar hopping on the east side...

After our fabulous lunch at Panama House , it just stood to reason that we needed to visit its (big) sister restaurant - the corner house . So thanks (again) to Nat from Folke & boys from the corner house - we are heading out this Wednesday evening to do just that. The corner house is situated just down the road from Panama House, in a space formerly occupied by Castile Pizza. We are seated in the front section of the restaurant overlooking Bondi Rd, we snuggle into our corner bench, enveloped by the warmth of the room. Now, prior to our visit we had read Simon Thomsen's review, with all it's talk of hip, young things & music loud enough to rival a rock concert - well not tonight. Tonight, it is blissfully quiet & relaxing - sure there is the odd 'hip, young thing', but there are also families enjoying a night out. Tonight it has the feel of an up market 'local' -

The food is simple, classic and enthusiastically Italian.

Loved it.. Not only is the styling of The Corner House absolutely beautiful, I can wholeheartedly say the pizzas we ordered were of a 10/10 standard. Staff were super friendly and the location is perfect if you want to head out after.

BRILLIANT SERVICE, BEAUTIFUL FOOD, GORGEOUS LOCATION. This place has everything you could ever need for a beautiful evening out! Delicious food, gorgeous waitresses and a spectacular wine cellar! The beautiful, ambient venue just tops it all off!

Kez. I wish Corner House was open when I used to live in Bondi as it would absolutely have been my local; I love it! On a recent night back I had the special, Orange Ruffy, with a bottle of Archangel Chardonnay from Central Otago - perfect match! Cool vibe, fun and professional staff, beachy personality, tasty food and a fantastic and interesting wine list - easy to love : ) Thanks guys! And can you please open up on the northern beaches?

10% service charge automatically added to your bill so don't leave a tip.. Gave my Credit Card for assurity when we arrived. On departure, was given a Credit Card print out for signing ($221.10) and (stupidly) added a 10% tip. <br/><br/>Thought the amount a little high so asked for a printout of the bill (not given when paying). Found the 10% service charge already added;Tuesday evening so no excuses for paying staff the weekend loads. Food was good for what it was (pizza and salad).......huge mark up on wine and beer.<br/><br/>Don't leave a tip.......the proprietor can sort the 10% service charge with the staff.

Unprofessional & Rude. I had my 25th Birthday at this venue and I almost had a panic attack. The room I was allocated (for 30 guests) really fits like 15. I was not told about the room, or the menu I was ordering from. <br/>The owner of the corner house was on the balcony allocated to my guests with his friends very drunk.<br/>I asked the staff if that group of people could use the other balcony as all my guests hardly fit as it is.<br/>The owner then death starred me, the staff were also very rude. The owner actually sat and talked to my friends and actually said I was a "Pain in the ass". <br/>The food was good, but I would never have a function there. <br/>I walked out of there in tears. I grew up around the corner, and never have I been treated like that in any Bondi venu. <br/>I will never be going back.

Quality night and amazing food. We arrived around 6pm and headed upstairs to the casual lounge area which was very inviting. The lighting, music and decor created a perfect atmosphere for an enjoyable time. We opted to share an antipasto platter and a bottle of red before heading downstairs for our dinner. The platter was seriously one of the best I've had. So much fresh produce and variety and it all tasted incredible. The red was the perfect match for it.<br/>We took our time and then went down to be seated in the restaurant. We sat next to a food reviewer which made the night even more interesting. They were provided a selection of dishes for the kitchen and we keenly followed their progress. I must say their review would have been very positive given their reaction to the food.<br/>The complimentary bread is always a nice touch which we welcomed before the meals arrived. You must try the cauliflower dish - unbelievable! With Parmesan and proccuito. The oysters were also as fresh as they come. <br/>We left with full stomachs and were super impressed by every facet of the experience. I would head back when in Sydney again for sure!

Awesome service and so tasty!. Really friendly and personable service. And the food was great. Try the gnocchi

My favourite place to eat in Bondi. It casual and fun and has delicious food, good service, good wine list and reasonable prices. Love the special 4 quarters pizza they do- I recommend sharing it as an entre.
Mr B
Great pizza. Arrogant chick running the place. Sad she does not match the fabulous food ! No longer a regular customer !!
Lori K
Always had good meals here, though the vegetarian options can be a little lacking. Recently ordered some take away pizzas though, and I don't know if it was a one-off or if the recipe has changed, but they were really mediocre. Crust was blah and looked premade and the pizza was smothered in too much cheese and was super greasy. We didn't mind paying a little bit extra for a good pizza from here in the past, but won't be ordering them again.
Jennifer
I dont get it??? its horrible. I really don't understand- the flavours on all dishes within our table were WAY off par - to the point of hard to eat. The service was lovely but the food - horrible, disgusting flavour combinations and I wouldn't go back if I was paid to. Sorry to the staff as your guys were lovely but your chefs food tremendously lets you down.
Max Johnson
The best pizza in Bondi. Having been a Bondi local now for 4 years, we finally decided to try this place which for some reason we always seemed to bypass because it looks small from the front. There is actually an entire back section and also upstairs cocktail bar area and the food and drinks is awesome.<br/><br/>Pretty much, just order the 'Special Pizza'... it changes every week but since we started going here, it has never let us down. Definitely one of the best pizzas in Sydney.
Jay
Great pizza and atmosphere. Fun cocktail list. Staff are friendly.
Beth Roberts
Nice place for drinks and nibbles. I booked The Corner House as the reviews were really good.<br/>The atmosphere was very good, funky space with an excellent cocktail menu. We were a group and when we got our table, the service went down hill, we had to ask for our wine after 3 table who ordered after us got theirs. The kitchen ran out of greens, not a disaster but not expected either. Everyone enjoyed the food. <br/>I wont rush back for the main menu but I will return for drinks and pizza.
Catalina Avila
Great food. Food was great so was the service . We will be back again soon !
Julian
Just wanted to let you know that we all had a fantastic time at corner house last night (We were the table of 6 outside). The food and the service was faultless, I mean FAULTLESS!!<br/> <br/>Corner House has become my favourite restaurant in the east, which is great seeing as my house is around the corner (excuse the pun).

Bondi Road's Best!. Decor: Rustic and full of the hip locals. Upstairs is a series of rooms attached to a bar which can be hired separately for functions. Can be noisy<br/><br/>Food: Upmarket pizza and good modern australian cuisine. Pork belly to die for, great fish of the day. Good wine list<br/><br/>Service: Friendly<br/><br/>Suitable for: Everyone<br/><br/>Value for Money: Good<br/><br/>Would we go back? Yes

Awesome!. We ate here last night and it was out of control. Cool enough to be special, casual enough to be welcoming, it's the best meal I've had in Bondi since moving up from Melbourne three months ago. We shared two pizzas, the Ben Buckler (a cheesy thin-based confection with white anchovies and saffron prawns) and the special of the night, a moroccan lamb and feta mix which basically tasted like a flattened kebab - although of course the quality is a quite a few notches above your local takeaway. I had the loveliest pinot this side of Mornington, recommended by the friendly and knowledgeable waiter. It's not cheap but the attentive service and mind-blowing wine list make it worth it. Lovely to sit outside on the big wooden tables in summer, or curl up in a warm corner inside. Can't recommend it highly enough - we'll be back for sure.
Nochedelight
A firmly, dependable & fabulous favorite!. We pop in for dinner every few weeks to perch at the downstairs bar/window. We love the space & decor; the great, friendly & polished staff & the kitchen's innovative & delicious specials - settling in with a good glass of red, tucking into Silverside & Semolina Polenta & Rib Eye was perfect way to spend a Friday nite. Our finale of Chocolate Fondant with Eton Mess was great. To the entire team at Corner House, we think you've got it goin on!! keep it up & see you soon.

Great atmosphere, crab ravoli was disappointing but the rest of the food was great. . Will defiantly come again.
Pat Geale
Good food. Great service. Great space, however, disappointed in the refusal of cooking my steak rare.
Johanna D.
Great dining!. Amazing food - I had the Pizza Daniella: To die for! With asparagus and crispy pancetta, and a hint of truffle oil. Delish! And the fish of the day was amazing, too. Great atmosphere, attentative staff, great wines - highly recommendable!!!

Great food, service and atmosphere.. I get a bit suspicious about some of the sexy looking restaurant-bar places around the Eastern Suburbs. There is all too often plenty of style but not much substance. This does NOT apply to the Corner House. We've been several times now and we LOVE IT!<br/><br/>The service is very attentive. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is fairly intimate and relaxed, whilst maintaining a sense of Bondi-beachy-cool. If you want a table you need to book in advance, often more than a week in advance for a friday or saturday night.<br/><br/>Enjoy...!

Yep. Definitely worth it. Anywhere you go in CH, and almost anything you order, will be a joy. Get there.

Great food. Wonderful service. We'll be back...

A small group of us had a drink tonight (sunday) upstairs before eating dinner downstairs. The vibe upstairs was fun, if a little wanky, but unfortunately this was thwarted by an extremely unfriendly waitress downstairs in the restaurant. We walked into the restaurant only to be greeted as if we'd accidentally walked into her bedroom. She greeted us with a "umm can I help you"... In a tone that said "ummmm what the hell are you doing here?". We're Bondi locals so we're not freaks from outta town. We do the quirky Bondi scene as much our unfriendly waitress with the half shaved head, but we expect a little more friendly service. We at least thought we deserved a smile. We didn't even get that. Meal was fine. The prawn ravioli was a little lean for the hefty $30 price tag. Would probably rather go to NBI for a meal I know will be good, served by staff who are always friendly regardless of how super busy they get. Disappointed.

Love Corner House! Great atmosphere, crispy pizza, hearty mains, good wine, friendly service.

Great first time at Corner House :). We ate at Corner House for the first time last Saturday night. We were welcomed by a lovely waitress named Pip who informed us of the specials and helped us pick a bottle of red. Pip recommended the Larenti Canonau which turned out to be awesome.<br/><br/>They bring you foccacia with really good quality virgin olive oil and sundried tomatoes, while you wait for your food. We also ordered some olives which had a good variety of different types on the plate.<br/><br/>For the mains we ordered from the specials board. The beef cheek open lasagne was not your traditional type of lasagne. Slow cooked beef cheek with loosely wrapped lasagne sheets around it, topped with bĂŠchamel sauce and vine ripened cherry tomatoes. Melt in your mouth beef and tasted amaaaazing!<br/><br/>The other main was the 'prawn and chorizo' pizza. When it came out it didn't have prawns on it but had muscles instead, chorizo, provolone cheese etc. We didn't send it back as it ended up tasting really nice and we wanted to eat it anyway.<br/><br/>We already knew what we were going to order for dessert as when we first walked in, we noticed some sort of chocolate cake type thing on the counter. Turns out it was a flourless chocolate torte with cream, strawberries and blueberries. Pretty sure we nearly died when we ate this. The best torte I've ever had- nom.<br/><br/>All in all, not the cheapest eat but awesome quality ingredients- well worth it!
