Review Bondi Rumba - Bondi

The nachos were to DIE for. These days most places will cut back on toppings but over here they went all out with the guac, cheese, and chilli. The baja fish tacos are delicious and so flavourful too. Can’t recommend this cozy restaurant enough!

Ordered the DIY tacos with shredded beef for delivery. They arrived without the beef and all I got was a refund of $2.50 on the $87 and when I called the restaurant they hung up on me when I explained what happened. Very disappointing.

My favourite bar in Bondi! Cozy space, good vibes, down to earth & friendly staff, great music. The cocktails are yummy, the food so good!!! I keep coming back after 9 years and they keep on impressing me 💛

Good vibes, friendly service, the tacos and margarita (coconut) are such a treat after a long day in the sun. Only little downside is the outside seating is a little uncomfortable. Thanks guys!

My wife and I had a super cool date here! Great to get away from the child and enjoy some grown up time. They offered great service and were mindful of social distancing and protocol. Next chance I get to have a drink we will be back !

By far the best Mexican on Glenayr, by far the best Mexican in Bondi, and BEST IN SYDNEY. Great cocktails, the best tequila and tasty, authentic Mexican food. A great vibe with local quality and adoringly non portentous. The staff are really friendly, helpful and full of banter (if you want)... and Make the best Cocktails! (but i have said that twice now)

Have spent my birthdays here with so much singing, laughing and fun! Epic food, yummy cocktails and that small bar intimate feel that only a place like Bondi Rumba can provide.

Best food and delicious cocktails!! Highly recommend, friendly staff and such a fun vibe! Plant based options! Must do when visiting Bondi!! Love your work guys, keep it up!

Cocktails didn’t taste fresh, the tortillas were stale, the proportions of the toppings for the DIY tacos were unbalanced and the meat wasn’t very tasty

Best Mexican food in Bondi, served with a smile. My friends and I frequent this place most weekends because of the food, the service and live music each Saturday. Great place to hang in the summer after a day at the beach, or sat out front under heaters get cosy in the winter. Cocktails will set you up for a great night also!

Mexican restaurants always grab my attention, because I like no fuss, flavoursome cuisine. The colours, cocktails and fun atmosphere of many eateries are also fabulous. Having said that, I've never been overly impressed with the meals I have tasted...until now!

I did a bit of research before heading to Bondi Rumba, as I'm staying in the area. Sure, the venue is quaint and their back area could use a renovation, but it's a cool place offering great grub. My 'Speedy Gonzales' and 'Baja Fish' tacos were delicious, as were the 'Yucca Fries', which I opted to have with chilli salt and lime seasoning, chipotle mayo, and garlic aioli. To top it off, their Coconut Margarita was outstanding. I arrived shortly after they opened and experienced fast, friendly service.

Not Bondi's finest.

Expensive for what tastes like microwave food. The back yard is dirty with an uncomfortable restriction on personal space. The real kicker is the service. Waiters more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving customers. 40 minutes for nachos with only one other table. Almost tried to give it a second go but again, rudely treated.

Reading previous strong reviews, I'm wondering whether the owners have either changed or it was their mates writing them to start with?!

Don't waste your time or money. Head to Mickey's in Paddington instead.

Fantastic place. Great feed, cool atmosphere and awesome service.

I had the burrito. It was one of the best I have had.
Get chips with the special seasoning too!
Will be returning soon.

Great food and awesome atmosphere, we really enjoyed this place. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There are vegan options available but they are also very willing to make changes to dishes as well. Finish it off with a decent drinks list and decent prices makes it hard to beat.

Always a great night at Bondi Rumba! Fantastic food, atmosphere and not to mention the amazing cocktails. The live music really adds something special to this place, it's great to see local musicians playing in the area :)

Super tasty, awesome atmosphere, fun and great cocktails. The manager Adrian is also a lovely host. Congrats on making a local place as good as anywhere else in Bondi.

Came here with my wife on our trip to Sydney. Best tapas and delicious cocktails. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Bondi Beach. Definitely coming back when we're back in town.

I've been quite a few times to this funky little bar. Love the music and the food is always fresh and delicious.

Love sharing plates with my friends while we sit back and listen to the fantastic live music. I'm also working my way through the amazing cocktail menu! Love them all!

Their brunch is great too! Love the breakfast burritos! I'm always amazed at how warm and hectic the place is! The amount of food that comes out of the tiny kitchen is amazing. When things are really busy it can be a bit slow, but that's OK because I just sit back and relax and enjoy the beats!

Love this place. have been there with a bunch of work mates and a few other times with just the wife and they've always looked after us. Great little friendly and unique place!

I've been visiting Bondi Rumba for a few years now and I just love this place. The live music is always fantastic and goes perfectly with a cocktail or two. More recently I visited for brunch and it was really good. I'm amazed at the food they can produce from what is probably the smallest restaurant kitchen in Sydney.
My only complaint about this place is that when it's really busy service can be a bit slow.
The garden was gross and trying to balance on the cushions was terrible. Everything appears to be stored outside. Everything's cooked in either a toaster or microwave, and expensive. Poor

Waitress recommended we get the house cocktail and all six of us did only to get hit with a huge bill- $16 a pop!! Tiny cocktail, sickly sweet, took ages to arrive, would not recommend!

Up there with Bondi's Best! .... Up there with Bondi's Best!

Bondi Rumba is tough to beat. A rustic room that is easily mixed with the casual backyard means there isn't a bad seat in the house, inside or out. Plus, the staff are genuinely friendly and whenever I've been there, I've been made to feel welcome for as long as we want to stay.
The environment is so friendly and cool that is impossible to not love it. Enjoy the music smartly chosen and all the details that make this place so special and worth to visit in Bondi.
On the kitchen side of it all, I've never had a bad experience. The carefully and fun menu have options for every tastes, and believe me... all options are amazing (but if you don`t know what to order, go for the Amaze Balls, or the quesadillas, or the pastel de frango.... i can`t chose just one).
Drink wise – they know how to mix a cocktail (Caipirinha especially) and the special nights with local deals are really attractive

Warm up Winter at Bondi Rumba. This warm, intimate drink n' dine spot is a great choice for a winter's night out. Well presented, modern South American fare is complimented by an array of cocktails and a small but carefully curated wine list.
The menu comprises regional versions of standard tapas favourites such as meatballs, chorizo and frites but also features some more esoteric offerings. We tried the Pastel de choclo dish from Chile, described as "a slice of minced corn pie with sultanas, egg and olives". Clearly an Andean comfort dish, it was the perfect choice for a chilly evening in Bondi.
The small garden is attractive but the inside really hums with glowing, well diffused lighting, red brick walls and a background of gentle but unrelenting exotic rhythms. The venue is just the right size for a birthday bash too, so I'll be booking it out for my next celebration.

Great Night Out. A few friends and I went to Bondi Rumba for a quick catch up and ended up staying most of the night. The service was fantastic and tailored to all our needs, food was delicious with lots of vegetarian options, the place and music made for a comfy and lively atmosphere and on top of that the cocktails were up there with the best in Sydney. Will def return whether is be a quiet Monday or the beginning of a busy Sat night out.

Incredible food, inventive cocktails and amazing atmosphere! Made me want to get on a plane to South America and live the real thing all over again. Highly recommended!

Passionate and exciting!!. My friends and I went to Bondi Rumba last week for dinner and we were all very impressed that we returned the following week because we saw that live Latin music was playing on Thursday nights.

We have all been Bondi locals for a while and all agree that Bondi Rumba brings something different and exciting to Bondi. The atmosphere it creates is like being back in South America.......passionate and alive.

The food was delicious especially the Escondidinho and empanadas and the cocktails kept flowing as we wanted to try most of what was on the menu. I had and really enjoyed the Coco Bongo and Pisco Sour. The service was amazing since it is a small bar and they can be attentive to you and chat to you without being too busy.

All in all Bondi Rumba was a fun night out and is somewhere we will def go back too.

It took at least 20 mins to take our order and there was only 1 other table. Then another 20 minutes before our cocktails arrived. They tasted great and I thought the wait was going to be worth it! But I was wrong! First we had some corn chips with guacamole and salsa the corn chips were lovely and warm but the dips were in tiny bowls and there was not enough for the serving size. All the food came out of freezer bags and was put either into a deep fryer or under a grill. Again it took forever and while the croquettes were lovely I could've done it at home just as well and a lot quicker! The empanadas were tasteless and empty, we had ordered wine to go with our meal once cocktails were finished and we had to remind waiter of this. Overall it really wasn't a great experience and I definately won't be back!

RumbaRocks. Awesome staff, they catered to my every need! Great choices of wine, being from brazil I was surprised they had so much knowlage of my food and culture! May I add that the prices and location were inpecable , I would recommend this bar to anybody that is in Sydney! Great time!

Fantastic night out. I took my whole family of 10 to this restaurant and we all had a great time. We were really impressed with the amazing variety of food. Each dish ranged from $5 - $12 so very good value .... and tasty too. We were expecting highly spiced taco style food, but found the range of options to be great. The food was delicious.
We'll definitely all be back.

Good wine, terrible food. Despite a near on empty restaurant (5 tables including us of which only 3 were eating) it took an hour to be served several plates of tasteless trans fat which would have taken at best 15 minutes to cook for which I was significantly overcharged. Several dishes arrived without their advertised accompaniments and unless you had managed to memorise the menu (admittedly we did have it for 20 minutes before we could get a waiter to take our order) the waiter did not bring them unless prompted. Very disappointing. The only redeeming feature of this restaurant was the drinks which were acceptably good.
