What a place! The food was absolutely delicious! Environment was also lovely and they have live music too. 100% recommended!

Just tried their new menu... YUM!!!!... Exactly what we have been needing in Bondi Junction. Great food, great venue and live music where has this been the whole time I have lived in Bondi Junction. Must try the tartare & zucchini flowers so delicious! The fish and steak were perfectly cooked too. We can't wait to go back again next week.

Booked this place on Friday for Saturday night and required my credit card details saying if you cancel it will be $80 charged, which I totally understand. However, they cancelled my booking at 12:36pm on Saturday afternoon for my 5:30pm booking . I really don’t see this is acceptable.

Superb food and quality live music!

Booked for 3pm on Sunday. Went to the spring street entrance which told us to go to the Oxford street entrance which then told us to go to the spring street entrance again. What a waste of time and organisation. I do feel for the hospitality industry, especially when you cannot get staff. However, should take the effort to make it clear you are not open, would have just made other plans.

Had a wonderful dinner, freshly made food and taste delicious too. Dont get mixed up with the Social Bondi Nightclub. They are 2 different venues.

Please do not take any jobs on for this place if you want to get paid!! We cleaned this venue 2 times and tried to reach Andy for the past 2 months. He still owes us $840 and I just sent him a letter of demand
Murray Schultz
Musicians - Please dont play at The Social Bondi unless your happy not to get paid. I am about to go legal on Andy Bird. He wont reply to me about a LETTER OF DEMAND trying to save him & me money. Our band did the right things, Ive needed to pay my duo, but they didnt pay.

We came for an All you can eat dumpling with live jazz music. At first we were a bit skeptical (dumpling with jazz?) but it turned out an experience worth having. Dumplings were served hot, and they were good. There were complimentary entres at first. Service was super nice, staffs were very friendly and caring, they kept looking at how we were going with the dumplings and willing to serve more. Music was good and atmosphere was cozy too!

Amazing food, even better service from Roxy and Sam, love them, love this joint, come give it a go! So chill.

In a bleak midwinter cold, there I sat with my fellow friends in the small cozy lounge that is Spring Street Social.

From the simple entrance to this underground phenomena it had set the tone for a romantic, comfortable and fun mood. We were seated on nice large seats and set with a gorgeous table setting of marble black plates and wooden chopsticks. The menu offered an eclectic range of food that would savour any cravings possible and their cocktail/drink menu was one to admire; having almost everything you could want in a glass and providing all the flavours and elements you’d want in one too.

With regards to their food, their simple bar favourites such as onion rings, potato wedges and fries served the perfect appetiser for any visitors. Their authentic Asian plates fused with their own style had created unique experiences of taste and with surely impress your tastebuds dramatically. Key favourites are definitely the truffle fried rice, pork dumplings, pork belly and duck wraps which granted remarkable flavours that are indisputably memorable.

“Spring Street Social” at its core offers a creative style of Asian cuisine associated with the glory and beauty of Jazz music in the background.

I recently went to Bondi Junction for the media launch of @springstreetsocial new Asian tapas menu💯 It was a magical night full of great food, copious drinks, beautiful live entertainment and fabulous company! Spring Street Social is a speakeasy style venue with an extensive cocktail menu, a live jazz band and a delicious new Asian tapas menu from renowned Hong Kong chef @diningwithkago and it was exquisite 👌🏽 The dishes I had the pleasure of tasting were:
.
.
OLD MAMA SPICY NUTS .
.
GRILLED EDAMAME WITH NORI BUTTER
.
.
MINI PORK SLIDERS WITH 5 SPICE MAYO
.
.
WAGYU BEEF TATAKI WITH ASIAN CHIMICHURRI
.
.
PRAWN & PORK WONTON WITH BLACK BEAN VINEGAR
.
.
CRAB CLAW WITH SRIRACHA MAYO
.
.
STEAMED XO SCALLOP
.
.
FRIED TOFU WITH 7 SPICE & SWEET SOY
.
.
TRUFFLE FRIED RICE WITH EGG WHITE ASPARAGUS TOBIKA
.
.
GREEN CHIVE & PRAWN DUMPLINGS
.
.
The flavours in the food was incredible, each dish was intricately presented and was an experience. My personal favourite was the fried tofu and truffle fries rice.
The dj was amazing and kept the party going and we danced the night away. I can’t recommend this place enough for a sexy night out. Thank you Ricardo, @nocomment_media and @springstreetsocial for a great night! Will definitely be back for more!
This place has a great vibe to it.
I’ve been here many times and now I attended their Asian Tapas launch event to try the menu.
I was already happy with their variety of cocktails and live music events before , and now I’m even happier they have a new variety of food to offer.
Dumplings are delicious! And the pork sliders 🍔 are really good . The bread has a different taste and texture. I loved it !
The new menu is quite good ! I couldn’t taste all of the items but I can tell you there’s something for everybody.
The best part is that the live music and environment keeps being fun !
Welcome to the new age, where Asian tapas meets a raunchy and sophisticated late night bar and club. Dance the night away with a drink in hand and a delicious menu by Chef Kago at Spring Street Social. Featuring perennial favourites like wagyu beef tataki, mini pork sliders, crab claw with siracha mayo, xo scallops and fried tofu with 7 spice and sweet soy, this is an absolutely stunning menu with iconic Asian flavours. My picks are the wagyu beef tataki and mini pork sliders!

Unfortunately, I lost my phone before I could save any of my photos but hopefully will revisit to snap a few pics to share with you all.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for photos!

My thanks to Spring Street Social and No Comment Media for the invite.

If you're looking for a dumpling and Asian feed there is no need to go all the way into the CBDs Chinatown. Spring St Social in Bondi has you covered. Definitely make your way down on a Saturday when they are playing live music! The menu includes some great cocktails, dumplings and Asain tapas. For those Vegan and GF don't fret because there are plenty of options for yourself and they are all delicious. The mushroom and spinach dumplings as well as the Wagyu beef are a must try.

This venue is built around good times!!

The Asian fusion tapas is epic, I loved every bite that I had and Chef Kago is the man!

The staff are amazing and were so welcoming, shoutout to Mitch, Daisey and the crew.

The cocktails are epic as well with very experienced bar staff.

Lastly they have live music to help wash the drinks and food down with a cool vibe.
Lettuce Celebrate Food
We used the groupon AYCE yum cha voucher. We had entrees of spring rolls and edamame followed by a plate of meat and a plate vegetable dim sum. Afterwards you could order any of the dishes you were served. Unfortunately the best dish and only dish we liked were the spring rolls which were crispy with a good amount of filling. All the skins of the dim sum were too doughy and the filling was quite mushy. Some skins were a bit undercooked, you can see the whiteness of undercooked flour. One dimsum burst and was covered with carrot, which was a good trick! The wait staff were nice and the atmosphere was good with live jazz music however overall the food was disappointing.

Located on Spring Street, you could blink and miss it if you didn’t look for the sign as you need enter via stairs to get to this bar/restaurant. We arrived at our booking time at 6pm but they weren’t ready yet for the all you can eat dumplings sitting so waited for about 15 minutes around the bar and had a drink before we could enter the main dining room.

There is a jazz band playing in one area of the restaurant.

Once we were greeted and sat down, the service is pleasant and we had the concept explained to us and got our drink order taken. Entrees (complimentary) were brought out first. They included Kimchi, Edamame Beans, Mini Mantou Buns With Sauce, and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Our favourite were the steamed mantou buns.

There was no order or speed at which the dumplings were brought out. It begun a bit slowly at the beginning of the service but definitely sped up once they got going. We enjoyed the duck dumplings and bbq pork buns the best. There are quite a few vegetarian options. There are a mix of steamed and fried ones too.

Overall not bad value at all and you can always request your favourites again.

Went there on Friday night for All You Can Eat Dumplings. The bar is underground and you may miss the entrance.
We bought the Groupon, 2 people for $49, regular price is $30 pp
We booked the reservation at 5:30pm and when we arrived at 5pm we were told AYCE Dumplings only starts from 6pm. Then why let us booked at 5:30pm on the website??
The service was great though. Very nice and friendly staff.
They served us all four entrees and nine sorts of dumplings. My favourite is the bok and choy vegetarian dumplings. The BBQ buns were good too. Some of the dumpling skins were too thick. They serve tasty dipping sauce, like it!
After all these I was already full but you can order more if you want.
Good experience overall.

3 friends & I came here for dumplings and jazz on a Friday. The service was quick and the dumplings were wonderful. Certainly got more than our money's worth. The atmosphere was something Bondi has been lacking for some time. The band were also brilliant. Great place.

Quite disappointed in the service that was provided tonight. Dumplings came out slowly and we who were sat at the back was forgotten about so we only had 6 plates in the span of two hours. The place had great potential but unfortunately for us it was not a great experience.

Came here for all you can eat dumplings. We are a large booking so unfortunately we were cramped into a sofa area.

Dumplings start coming as soon as we sat down, and from 7 onwards, the pace quickens a lot. The dumplings are alright. Have to say there are better ones out there (thinner skin and juicier fillings), but the satisfaction is there. There are also, at some point, plates and plates of spring rolls, so much so we thought we were having all you can eat springrolls :p

The spring rolls are meant to be duck spring rolls, but i could only taste chinese barbecue pork. Delicious nonetheless, just couldn't taste the duck.

Favourite dumpling is the veggies one.
Since i live an hour away from Bondi Junction, I'd say it's probably not worth the trek for me.

Drinks look appealing though, too bad i drove this time.

First visit by accident as we walked past and very impressed with the overall atmosphere and set up.
Great attention to cocktails, good music, good food selection and best of all the doormen/bouncers place a lot of emphasis in keeping out the obvious undesirables that prevents this place becoming another venue for groups of people ranting their premier league soccer anthems.

Went there after dinner for drinks. Lovely little place, good music and a nice cocktail menu. Very intimate space (mind you, this was a Wednesday. Don't know the weekends are in there)

The brioche buns of these sliders were particularly soft and squishy rather than toasted and crispy, which actually worked in its favour as it made it easier to hold, handle, and take a bite from these bad boys. The fillings were also fantastic and tasty, with the BBQ pork being my favourite – soft and tender pulled pork with a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. Just heavenly!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
Never trust a charlatan or chunky fries described as ‘skinny’, right? Forget everything you’ve learnt and head to Bondi Junction’s newest underground bar. The Charlatan ($17) is one of their signature cocktails; with vodka, rhubarb bitters, cinnamon-infused agave and lime juice, it’s a tonic you’ll want to self-medicate with. Their Skinny Fries ($8) with bacon, jalapenos and melted cheese are like a Mexican version of poutine, and seriously better than those ‘Lord’ proclaiming fries. Buns ($15/3) are tight – but not in flavour, with fillings like crab, spicy chicken and chicken liver parfait... ... and the Spring Wings ($12) are devilishly drool-worthy. Word of warning: the Lobster Macaroni Bake ($28) is heavy – a frying pan-sized dish of lobster chunks, mascarpone, chorizo and sun-dried tomatoes. You’ll probably need to wash it down with a refreshingly tart Belladonna ($17) which drinks like a Pisco Sour with

Just about perfect, except for the 18-22 angry dudes loosing their septums to poorly cut MDMA who frequent the venue next door which sadly shares a bathroom - fail. Girls were even worse. My wife and her friends won't ever return = revenue loss... Separate your venues, they clash in a bad, bad way

RE: Once Loyal, Now Ex-Patron. Dear Our Once loyal, Now ex-patron,

I was this non-Bearded Bartender you speak of...
On the night in question I witnessed (a very intoxicated) you and your lady friend coming out of the mens toilet. She had a white powder-like substance caked to her nose and when asked what she was doing in the male bathroom she replied "Giving Blowjobs" and could not begin to fathom why I was concerned that there was a female in the male restroom. I told her that I suspected she was doing drugs, which she then answered "Where do you want me to do it, on the bar?". I mention that this was probably not her first time taking recreational drugs and she should have a bit more respect for her surroundings and the other patrons in the venue. You and her continued to argue as if this was totally acceptable practice until you were both asked to leave.

Also, referring to yourself as a loyal customer seems strange as the first and only other time you attended the venue you were asked to leave for being drunk, disorderly and abusing another one of our (bearded) bartenders. The only reason you were allowed entry on this particular day was to attend one of our true "loyal" patrons birthday celebrations, who by the way had to plead with us to allow you entry.

In Closing, We do not tolerate rude and antisocial behavior like this at Spring Street Social and the venue will continue being an awesome hangout for all, (especially) without your presence.

Regards,

Harry, The Beardless Bartender.

Once loyal, now ex patron. Liked the venue, until the barman without the beard told the girl I was with that she looked like the kind of girl that took a lot of men to the toilets for sex. Utterly uncalled for and unacceptable behaviour, especially from someone in the service industry. I would return there if I was sure he had been rightly fired.
Caroline
Harry is the best barman I've ever met in the 20 years I've been frequenting bars. Friendly and highly knowledgeable about liquor, service that goes the extra mile! The bar is cool too with comfortable decor and excellent music on an awesome sound system!

Good food and ambience. I really recommend the olive oil cake. A delicous and interesting combination of flavours. The Jam Mi was great as well
