Review The Organic Republic - Bondi

The barista was a real b!#@h and it seemed like she would rather not be there. Looked annoyed to see me and even more annoyed that I ordered a coffee, disturbing the social media scrolling she was doing when I got there. Occurred on Tuesday 25 January 2022 at 13:55pm.

Worst iced mocha ever. Tasted like water. They literally just made a small flat white and chucked ice in it. Where was the chocolate? I wish I took a photo for evidence but it had to be thrown in the bin where it belongs. An absolute joke. That deserved a refund. PeriodT.

Apple pie only... I was just passing by, as I often do. And there it was, staring back at me from its place, next to the (incorrectly labelled) chocolate hazelnut muffins. The cheeky little minx was trying to look away, all innocent and cutesy. No pie tin. No fancy icing sugar. And a $7.70 price tag that dared me to dismiss it blithely. But I couldn't do that, and it knew that. So yeah, sure, I bought the apple pie. Surprisingly warm at 3pm. The first bite said it all. Short crust pastry so perfectly buttery and crumbly, that it created a fervent thirst, that only a great, fresh apple filling could satiate. And did that filling ever live up to its role! Slightly spices and just wet enough, with great apple flavours. I don't know enough about this bakery to rate anything else. But I do know this. I love apple pies. I have run successful upscale commercial bakeries. make apple pies. If I made these pies, I'd be well pleased.

I love this Bakery! Happiest people, their beautiful bread, the excellent coffee. Today I picked up a chocolate beetroot cake … and all I can say is … Try It!!

Lovely bakery in the quieter part of Bondi Beach that really caters to the local crowd. Sourdoughs and organic baked goods make for super delicious times and the coffee is there to match. Super friendly staff and chilled out vibes will have you coming back many times over!

Typical Bondi 'too cool for school' attitude.Refused request for hotter than the norm coffee .. waited far too long. Staff only interested in their own banter. Forgot half my order then served my coffee cold. The WORST display of cafe arrogance.

Quick and easy way to have a good brunch etc The baked goods are unbelievable and the coffee is a real winner. Also a good place to grab a quick take away.

The yummiest smashed avocado and feta.
We love how you can choose from the amazing array of fresh breads!
It's not cheap, but the generous amount of topping they give you and flavour definitely makes it worth it.
Also try a spelt scone, people rave about them!

Their juices tasted like jam, they an inappropriate sign outside, and the pizza was cold. Their pie was really mushy and the where hard. We feel it's overrated and hyped.
No wonder this bakery is recommended by the Lonely Planet. The poached pear wholemeal was delicious and the spelt biscuit was crunchy. Good coffees too!

Its a shame the produce from their bakery is so good because the service here is APALLING. You can stand in the store for any length of time, on average between 2 and 5 minutes before anyone working there actually acknowledges your existence. The coffee is thrown into the cups with little care for what they are making.

Good Bondi lunch spot

We had a couple of tasty gourmet sandwiches for lunch followed by great coffee at this lovely friendly cafe. The cafe has some lovely outdoor seating and is in a relaxing location away from the beach and tourist crowds.

Great spot for quick brunch/lunch paired with really good coffee. The focaccias are gorgeous and highly recommend the salmon bagel with (I think) a caper/gherkin cream cheese. Super yummy!! Would definitely pop in again when I'm in the area.

Locals love it- coffee's amazing. They open at 5am too! The muffins are the best, but not on the menu everyday. I get my coffee here every morning. It's the best!

This cute little cafe in Bondi is a very relaxed and local place. It is very central and the food there is always outstanding with lots of choices available

My favourite bakery in Bondi. The viennoiseries (croissants & pains au chocolat) are nearly as good as in France!! Very nice fruit tart ! Very nice avocado tartines as well!

The best Spelt scones. Every Sunday it is a must for my husband and I. We need to call and reserve our spelt scones because they sell out. We love everything in there, spelt bread, spelt salmon bagels, gluten free cakes, spelt muffins, spelt banana bread, great coffee.. Etc etc . I wouldn't move cities just because Organic Republic Bakery.

Tucked around the back of Bondi, far away from the tourist buses and backpacker hostels, lives Organic Republic, a local neighbourhood bakery described by co-owner Murray Begg as “science meets art”.

Organic Disclaimers. It Is always frustrating to come along with little disclaimer notes after you have paid for something you really thought was sold to you in good faith. The over-dimensioned 'organic' signs that are challenging the legal ratio of advertising allowed by the councils are never proportional to the size of the disclaimers you can find inside these shops which are always justifying the lack of effort and intention of supply the product you are advertising in your generous facade. Science??? Mediatic manipulation??? Consumer misleading??? We can call it by many names but something is true: is a marketing technique that works as well for Coca Cola as it does for Murray Begg and his associates. Certification is a tool to control this epidemic of fake goodness that is propagating li a hypocritical virus all over the australian consumers. Does not matter if the product is good or bad, or if it is a good deal or not. It must be regulated and controlled by an independent entity otherwise we are trusting the goodwill of people like Mr. Begg who justifies his lack of effort to deliver 'the real thing' with the convenience of the small prints in a disclaimer.
