Review Peppe’s - Bondi

Salmaan Saleem
I’m not vegan but I love vegan food and no doubt Peppe’s is one of the top vegan restaurants in Sydney. Love the decor and ambience. Warm and friendly service. Mouthwatering delicious food. I had the delicious Gnocchi which was just perfect. And the desserts were just too good. It made me the happiest person in that moment. The tiramisu is a must try. I couldn’t believe vegan desserts could be this good. Love it. Highly recommend it whether you are vegan or not you’ll fall in love with the food. Peppe’s is one of favourite restaurants in Sydney.

Vegan hype machine really ran wild on this place. Lots of good points but for the hype it fell short. The staff were super friendly and nice despite what the other comments say. The venue itself is great and the atmosphere when busy is buzzing. It was a tough 3 to give because the cacio E pepe was great, it looks bland but it was very nice and velvety. The brocollini was also great, great flavours. The garlic bread was a little forgetful, full of burnt fennel. The pomodoro is a bit underloved and the Tira misu was really a cake. The economics works out if you want to get plastered on cocktails cause they're decently priced but the food itself is a little over priced for the size. I never liked Bondi much to begin with and this place certainly won't have me going back in a rush.

Had the tasting menu. Food was decent but the pasta was a bit disappointing. The mushroom gnocchi would have been great but was a little over salted while the lasagna was barely lukewarm and lacked flavor. Tiramisu was tasty. Service was exceptional.

Very sweet little restaurant and bar convenient location on Bondi road with heaps of backstreet parking around. We sat at the bar which was super comfortable (backs on the bar stools!). The menu is nice and short and the staff had great recommendations. We ate the bruschetta, mushroom gnocchi and the special risotto. We will 100% be keeping an eye out for the changing specials! The service is really fast especially if you want to have a quick meal. The restaurant is walk in only so make sure you leave a bit of waiting time if you come later in the week or at a busy time. We were lucky, arrived at 6pm and got a table straight away!

Absolutely delicious food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had a great evening and will be back for sure. Hot tip: leave room for the amazing tiramisu. Definitely some of the best vegan food in town.

Gnocchi was pretty nice, very soft texture and super creamy despite being vegan, though was a bit on the blander side. The bruschetta however was the best bruschetta I've had in Sydney, so flavourful! Really nice mushroom + vinegar combo. Polenta chips had great texture but a bit overloaded with salt. Fun staff.

Fabulous authentic Italian menu, fully plant based but don't let that put you off, so much amazing Italian farmhouse food is plant based and super yummy. The gnocchi was fabulous, likewise the brushetta and the wine list was considered and very tasty. Don't miss this place!

Food was good, but not amazing. Lasagna was fresh, favourite dish. bruschetta was yummy. A bit expensive, small portion. Most staff are friendly.

i loved peppes! their service was superb, perhaps bc the bondi restaurant is more intimate and communal. their pasta, whilst slightly pricey, was divine, and their arancini was just as amazing. i highly recommend trying either this store or the osteria in waterloo.

Best gnocchi EVER!!!!!! I recommend the pesto gnocchi and definitely the garlic bread. don't be worried about the line to get in- it is worth it. The staff are amazing too and the delicious food comes quickly. I LOVE PEPPE'S!!!!!

Gnocchi is star - very fluffy, pillowy and light. Sauces are great but could do with more depth. Arancini and the aioli that came with it were delicious!!! I could just eat plates of them. Tiramisu was good too. It's not cheap and I think bigger premises would've been nice since they don't take bookings but it's going to be a great local haunt

This place has attitude, and not in a good way. We were ordered where we should sit, we were 2 people, and had to side side-by-side each other looking at the wall! Yes, unbelievable. Ordered around by the young piece-of-work waitress. As they don't take bookings, we inquired why we could not choose our own seats, but were once again 'told' where we would be sitting! We were 'not happy Jan' to put it mildly.
Ageist-attitudes towards those somewhat older (and wiser) than them.
The food wasn't bad, but not worth the trip out to Bondi... and too rich for gnocchi.
Will never go there again, thanks to the staff.
