Review Salsa's Fresh Mex - Bondi

Like a shooting gallery, it's a bit hit and miss here, when it's good you'll be on fire when it's not it's no fun at all :/ Have visited several times for the nachos and burritos which have been tasty but have been let down by the fries/loaded fries which weren't hot enough temperature wise and were weak on the flavour.

Poor service, poor quality food, small serving sizes compared to past years and rubbish covering the floor. Would not recommend when Guzman is around the corner. Staff are disinterested and forgot half my order, when I informed them they did not apologise and gave me the smallest “regular’ serving of chips I’d ever seen and this was the item they forgot). Quesadilla and burrito average to bad at best. Other orders appeared burnt.

This place is a joke. The food isn’t horrible, but no effort has been put into anything. Guacamole is just a dollop and squashed avo with no seasoning. Burrito bowl is a kids serving size and is very average. I could make better hard shell tacos at home. Presentation is horrible, just slopped onto some paper on a greasy white plate. No napkins on table and no free hot sauces or jalapeños. These people have no business selling food in Bondi Junction or Sydney. In a market with strong players like Guzman and Beach Burrito, this place is waste of time and money. I guarantee it won’t be here Dec 2020. Avoid at all costs

The food here is really basic with not much flavour or effort put into it. Super over priced for what you get. I thought there was a mistake with my order as my burrito bowl looked like a kids meal.... Would be better off going upstairs to Guzman.

So I normally head to GYG but I thought I’d give these guys a shot- the staff member behind the counter was friendly and put my Baja Steak order through. What I received was more of a parcel than anything else; this burrito was tiny & almost as long as it was wide- I questioned if I’d made a kids order, but no, I’d paid full price. So when I thought my burrito was already a bit scant of filling you can imagine how depressing the first 3 bites were when I just got rice & tortilla. That’s just sloppy craftmanship. After I made my way through the heft of the rice I finally hit a sliver of steak & the salad, and I enjoyed that mouthful... I then proceeded to get through the remnants of my tiny, poorly-filled & proportioned burrito eating nothing but salad and rice till I found my second piece of steak in the last mouthful. 2 pieces of steak in an $11 burrito. Someone has to have been joking in the kitchen and just forgotten how to make a burrito because I’ll tell you what GYG have my business next time.

They have the best vegetarian quesadillas! Delicious chips and so many options to customise and remove foods from your dish! It's consistently delicious and I don't even want to admit how often I UberEats these quesadillas!! :')

I love the Mexican food here, and have been going for over 5 years. Although the food is great, over the past 2 years, the service is worsening, and the majority of the staff are rude and disrespectful. I went to the Bondi Junction shop today, and I met 3 interesting people. Emmanuel was a man who would go behind the counter and play on his iPhone when he was supposed to be the (only!) one at the cashier. Another young man would speak in a dull tone giving you death stares, and was only interested in the pretty girls of his age who would turn up to the cashier. The last one, Ray, was a lovely young man who was polite, could be heard and understood clearly, and always had a smile. To salsa, please improve your staff and service, keep making great food, and employ more people like ray. :)

The fries /chips are amazing. The bowl and burritos are yumm but slightly different when compared to the Mexican food sold in the States. All and all its worth trying. Casadilla is lip smacking.

I only went here because my ancient memories suggested it was the closest existing match to the new Taco Bell. It turned out to be a lot better in the most important way - much richer flavour with much less sugar (although probably just as much salt). Still much blander than Guzman and Mad Mex and Salsa's costs as much as them despite giving you much less meat and padding out the burrito with huge amounts of rice and lettuce. I've also realised that all 3 of these burrito chains price at $x.90 or $x.95, which is only ever a brazen attempt to deceive customers.

The food’s great, always fresh and the service is also really good. I’ve ordered for take away many times and they’re really quick to deliver the meals.
Also there’re yummy vegetarian and vegan options ;)

Trying the taco spread (minus the vegetarian taco since you don't make friends with salad) at the Bondi Junction Westfield Food Court for a quick snack before Star Wars!

The Mexicurls are nice and spicy, even better with the chipotle sauce. The chicken taco is smokey tasting and good. The beef toco chili con carne is yum! The pork taco is drippy and spicy. Overall favourite is the chicken followed closely by the pork.

Quick and friendly service and well worth the pre-movie snack.

This is a nice place for a quick and filling lunch. I ordered the pulled pork bowl which was flavoursome and had a good amount of pork and not too much rice. I’ll be back to try their other items like the burritos which also sound pretty good.

Bland burrito
$1 charge for Tabasco / chilli
Chips tasted like frozen McCains wavey chips with a little bit of chicken salt sprinkled on too. Very dry.
Asked for ketchup. Denied.
Ice tea was nice however.

I've never had Salsas ever and it's everywhere and wanted some quick food and this place delivered the goods.

Guacamole was great - very fresh but had to watch for avocado shell which was in it everywhere.

Mini chicken burrito was huge for $7 and fed me well. Sometimes you don't want a huge meal and this was a good size. Partner had the chicken quesadilla and loved it.

$30 for a lunch is good on the go!

Salsa's is usually reliable with the food on offer. This one is in Westfield Bondi Junction within the level 5 food court. They had a special Mixed Grill Fajita Burrito which had steak and chicken so went with that. It was meat and rice heavy but I like it. Also got some of their super tasty Mexicrinkles (something about their seasoning makes me love it!). The lady serving me was very nice.
This is the nearest Salsa store to where I stay, and they are offering a 10% discount throughout July. So I headed there!

To me, Salsa's offerings have been subpar when compared to other Mexican chains like Guzman Y Gomez and Mad Mex, and slightly more expensive as well. These guys really need to pull up their socks, if they are to compete with the others.

Having said that, the food is pretty decent, to be honest. I went for the Mucho veggie burrito bowl, along with chips and drink. Their chips are spiced, which make them much more delicious!

I suppose I'll still visit this place throughout July.

Food - 3.5/5
Service - 4/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
Value for money - 3/5
Overall - 3.5/5

Needed a quick bite to eat on a busy day and wanted something remotely healthy and Mexican. Saw salsa's in Bondi Junction and got a burrito bowl, they were accomodating with me being a fan of low carbs and I got mine with all lettuce (no rice), tomato, cilantro, and steak strips. It comes with guacamole and sour cream (if you want it). Pretty cheap and nice enough for a take away fast food meal.

Healthy and generous portions. I ordered the mucho protein bowl and it came with a very generous serving of guac on the top and some delicious house made corn chips. I was surprised at the freshness of the ingredients. As for the taste, I really really enjoyed it. It was very satisfying and filling, and I have to say that the guac I had was definitely high standard and left me wanting more. Yes, the prices are a little high, but I honestly think that my meal was worth the 11 bucks. I'll definitely be back here! My new go-to place.

Needing something fast for lunch, I had a wonder around the food court and noticed a Wednesday special of a burrito, chips and bottle of water for $9.95. Since I have never tried Salsa chain before, I decided to give it a go and ordered their pulled pork burrito.

You can order without rice and they give you the option of lettuce instead. Taste was it was okay but the burrito itself was too wet and the whole thing was very soggy and messy to eat. Their chips are crinkle cut with seasoning on them would have been nice if my batch wasn't overlooked. Oh wells, at least I gave it a try.

Great value for money. After a busy day, we were forced to grab a quick and easy take away meal. I selected the Mexican salad bowl and added black beans and a bottle of water. My total order came under $17. A little light in the chicken I must admit but generous with the guacamole and salad. Extremely large bowl that's for sure, I couldn't finish it! Service was friendly and didn't have to wait too long for my order.

Awful. The service at this Bondi junction salsas is terrible. A teenage girl at the counter was so rude she was muttering insults under her breath when I gave her my name for the order.. The food was not much better. Bland and boring.. To top it off they didn't give me the drink I paid for. Never go here.

Terrible food, good service. Got 2 plates of nachos here last night. The mince meat tasted like it had been microwaved and more resembled dog food. I'm not sure how you can make nachos taste this bad :( However, credit to the employees - they provided great service and the cashier was lovely.
I would recommended going upstairs to Guzman y Gomez for better tasting Mexican.
Sakura_pinkhairedkunoichi_shon
Terrible. Food was terrible, the customer service not much better. It wasn't like this when I visited the parramatta store.
Eun
Overpriced and poor quality mexican. Both our burritos loaded up with the cheaper fillings. Mad Mex restaurants are way way better.

Everything about this place is like a bad trip down 1980's Aussie take on Mexican food. With places like Guzman Y Gomez nearby, don't bother with this place
