Review Bondi Beach Public Bar - Bondi

A perfect spot to have cocktails! I ordered a whisky sour cocktail! It was super refreshing! I loved the casual ambience! The view was gorgeous! And the service was perfect! They seated us in a nice cosy sitting area, far away from everyone! Loved it! It’s called social distancing! 😜

Awesome joint for lunch and drinks in Bondi right in front of Bondi beach. Their burgers were fabulous. Hotel staff is friendly and polite. Good table service as we got our food quite fast.

UPDATE : new ownership has changed the menu slightly, still a great pub except on the weekends nieve door staff are rude and discourage me from spending my money here. 🤟 Pub jamming surf rock tunes with great drinks & food. I love Bondi Beach Public Bar and I live close so I’ve dined here about six times already. The menu is pub classics, pizza , burgers & fried chicken done very well with some interesting salads and sides. The polenta nuggets are delicious, mash potato is decadent and being able to get quality burrata and tomato salad in a pub is a bonus. 90 % of other pubs will serve you frozen food from a box, pre crumbed schnitzel etc and still charge resto prices. Here the food is made from scratch. Going to the bar to order drinks can be annoying but outside seating has just started with table service. Having some natural wines on the list is better than most pubs which have terrible wine. Order what you need, grab a table and watch the beautiful people walk by is how to roll at Bondi Beach Public Bar. See more of my food photos on my Instagram account @eatsydney .

Spent the day at the beach and were starving. Came here for an impromptu dinner. Food was surprisingly good for what we’d normally expect on Campbell parade. Would happily come back again.

Great food always, with lunch or dinner. Some staff excellent i.e Peter. It does feel like some staff are doing you a favour in taking your order. Not cool but the other staff make up for it. ( Is this a temporary gig until they are discovered as the next Heath Ledger? ) Dog friendly, cool place to people watch. The espresso martini was awesome.

Loved this place. Right across the beach, and next to the shopping centre, this place serves good food. It has lot of vege options and inside+ outside seating for large groups as well. I had one of the best salads here and absolutely loved it. contact tracing is managed wel. For a busy place like Bondi, parking was available at the shopping centre 50m away (approx $32 for 3 hrs) or a cheaper option was on the street for $6 per 2 hrs.

Terrible food. Pizza doesn’t have much meat and bread crumbles taste like stone. Salad costs me $32 but it only has two pieces of salmon. Pls go to McDonald it’s just next door

Fantastic drinks, great bar staff and some great pub style food. If you’re in Bondi you must come here!

I’m not the kind of person that does this. I don’t think I’ve ever left a review anywhere before - good or bad. I really wanted to love this place.. but Bondi Beach Public Bar b.b.p.b Is one of the lowest places I’ve ever been to in Sydney. Everything that’s wrong with Sydney venues and the Sydney attitude is embodied in this place. Pretentious, ostentatious, rude and up their own asses. There is NOTHING authentic about this place, nothing. Not the rude staff and management who can’t make eye contact when they speak, have any manners or string together a sentence. Not the fit out, not the feel, nothing real about it. You can smell the stench of fake when you walk through the doors. You can’t claim to be a “laidback, local, welcoming public bar” - because that’s being fraudulent. You are the complete opposite. You are a tasteless, lifeless, elitist establishment pretending to be “for the people” maybe I should change my postcode? I might be welcomed with a smile. The worst part is I’ve been to so many worse places than this. Terrible places, but I’ve never been that wanker who gets on the Internet and writes a bad review or complains about it. Just shut up and move on, but my TWO experiences here have been so terrible, It would be wrong not to write this. I’m sure this isn’t everyone’s experience - and thats what makes my experience even worse.

Located on Campbell Parade and just opposite famous Bondi Beach, and currently offering 50% food and drink for entire July.

CALI FISH TACO 🌮 $5 each
Served with shaved cabbage, pico de gallo, smoked chilli mayo on soft wheat tortilla.
This fish to me feels like frozen fish nugget that you buy from Woolies.

GRILLED HALLOUMI $11
With babaganoush, cucumbers, mint, honey, and za’atar.
Love the whole combination of the dish!

Will try different dishes next time.
Great food- so good we ate there twice during our short stay in Bondi. Clearly the Chef enjoys what he does because you can taste the love in the food. This was topped off with friendly and efficient service. Our thanks to you all!

We had stopped by for a drink one night after dinner on Hall Street. BBPB has some pretty cool vibes, reminiscent of a bougie hipster from Brooklyn, with vibrant graffiti on its walls and slightly overpriced drinks. A nice spot to hang if you want to stay close to the ocean!

Came here with friends last Thursday for the Burger night special, only $10 for a burger and fries, absolute bargain, especially for Bondi! My friends all had the burgers (they have beef, chicken, fish and a vego option available) whilst the kitchen kindly made me the Bondi Chop salad vegan. We all loved our meals.
The music was funky, the bartender was friendly, it was nice and warm (cold outside) and the decor is modern. Would definitely recommend this for groups of friends.

Make sure you Get the polenta nuggets. They’re the best thing that’s happened to Bondi since Oportos. The bag of fries are also pretty good.

Jasmine reviews:
Nice place with good vibe.
We ordered a 'prebatch' cocktail -no.147 which is already mixed beforehand. the no.147 has coconut, passionfruit and vodka, it is very nice and sweet.
They said "prebatch-ing" help with consistency and efficiency.

**(Hayley doesn't like prebatch (although a lot of places do it), she believes the mixing itself is a type of "performance" and part of the cocktail experience especially at a bar, but jasmine doesn't care as much)

Double patty bondi matty - Well seasoned meat, the double patty is not too thick but packed with flavours. Served with salad sticks which is very unusual but refreshing.
Fish burger is also nice, love the thick slice of fish they put in.

Carbonara pizza- an unusal option so thought we would give it a go. Crust was thin and has a lot of cheese on the pizza. slice of pancetta on every single slice. The pizza has egg yolk drizzled on it which gave the pizza a gooey texture to it.

Might come back for pizza.
