Review Meiji's Sushi Jung - Bondi

The first Thai operate Japanese restaurant I seen in Sydney and the Worse dining experience I had with this establishment, the moment walk in I can literally feel something wrong. No welcome, not smiling, not in uniform and untidy, could barely speak English, I told my wife and friends to leave but they were hungry. So opt for the all you can eat menu and you can only order 1 at a time and they will watch over you to ensure you finish the plate you ordered before they bring out the second plate. I never ever seen a Sushi with that much rice and little salmon on it, I guess that way they can really fill you up with rice to prevent you from ordering anymore stuff on the menu. The sashimi tuna and salmon taste off, you can see rainbow color on the meat and taste disgusting, I feel a bit sick after had 1 piece. We all walk out after the second dishes, check online review everyone seem to have the similar experience. Will not recommend anyone to go there.

My experience here was pretty mediocre. As previous reviewer said the staff wasn't particularity welcoming, I didn't mind that too much. The restaurant is operated by Thai family. We came here on a groupon buffet promotion. The sushi has a lot of rice, especially the nigiri sushi. Be warned do not order it. the only recommend dish is salmon and avocado sushi roll. Most of the dishes had little to no seasoning and flavouring, leading to a very bland buffet. The restaurant has many takeaway orders. Overall I would not be happy to return.

Worst sushi restaurant we've ever been! I believe it had changed hand since we visited last time. The Tuna sashimi wasn't fresh at all, seems defrost meat. The Sushi roll only has little slamon or other meat with whole lot of rice. The chicken in Teriyaki sushi roll wasn't fresh. We waited for half an hour for the last 2 dishes then when we asked if we still have the order. The girl in the kitchen was very rude saying you didn't finish the two pieces sushi roll on the table, so you can't get the next dish and your time is up. How rude is that! They are Thai people and their Japanese Sushi are not genuine at all. We will never come back again!

**AVOID** I should have read the reviews before going here!!! Failing that, I should walked out having seen the prices!!! I ordered the grilled scallops and grilled salmon. The scollops were basically raw!!! And cold, obviously. And over garnished. The salmon was not sushi, but rather what seemed to be precooked salmon steaks, warmed with a blow torch, which tasted like the bones were left in. I also ordered 2 small packs of "normal" sushi, but have been put off by suffering through what was meant to be a treat, at $12 each! Customer service was pleasant but order turn-around was slow. I will not ever be back, unless they offer to refund my purchase!!!

Service is horrible. The food was bland and not fresh. Worst restaurant I've ever been in Australia. Will never come back to this place We tried to make a booking for 6pm but they said they are fully booked from 5 til 7:30pm. We live few blocks away from that area and when we went pass around 6:30pm. They only had two customers. why would they say they are fully booked? Anyway, they accepted us for a booking of 7:30pm and we got there 10mins early and one lady was upset because we arrived early. She seems to be the manager or supervisor. We had questions on the menu and they were not helpful. The lady sounded really irritated while explaining the menu to us

Worst dining experience I have ever experienced. The sushi was inedible and delivery took over 45 mins. After 3 very rude conversations with confused staff, the owner called and was inappropriately rude. Very disappointed and I recommend staying clear if you expect even the slightest bit in customer service and quality.

Just a counter argument to the haters - problem with Google reviews is that people are only motivated to write one when they are disappointed. Which may well be a small minority of the punters dining here. I lived on Bondi rd for several years and used to regularly get the bento boxes here. And I thought they were very good. The staff were always friendly. So here is my attempt to skew what is in my opinion a very unfair 2.9 star average.

the worst eating experience ever. staffs all look like coming back from a funeral, not even no smile, seemed they hate us came in disturbing their peace or something. no thank you, no goodbye nighter. I will never go back even for free. DON'T GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE HUMILIATED.
