Review Namaste Bondi Takeaway - Bondi

Jan & Simon Team Bondi
Menulog failed to deliver Extremely poor service by Menulog No contact from the restaurant If the restaurant wants to do home delivery and get the income from home delivery then it should find an alternate to Menulog This is a complete laugh - a week later the reply to the review the restaurant says order directly with us but FAIL. They ain't delivering. Wanted me to order 2 days from now. Complete waste of my time. Very very annoyed This restaurant doesn't want your money

Great ingredients and super nice service! The food is tasty specially the butter chicken. Also great samosas! Good value for price

Sorry the bad review… Usually a vindaloo is a hot and spicy curry, what I got had no flavour, no spice and was really watered down. Like it had been frozen and reheated! Really bad !

We had lunch at this place while visiting Bondi Beach. Nice hot yummy veg curry, દાળ with soft nans! Must try here...

Great special deals on curries. Lamb and butter chicken curries were fantastic and the staff were nice. Namaste recently moved to a new location on Bondi Road from Hall St due to renovations. It's a takeaway store now with a little bit of seating, but not a restaurant.

In summary.. quality wins over service...
Food is good but attitude is pathetic..
Looks these guys don’t care as there are not many Indian cuisine option near to Bondi Beach.. and people will still come even if the staff is not friendly..
Guys if you want just taste but no respect then this is the place...
A note to owner.. today is the time for service.. people want to be respected.. if you keep the same attitude, very soon you’ll be replaced by someone else....

Food was tasty and served fast however the curry portion sizes were quite small for the price. Naan was good but not great. Waitress was rude and abrupt and on her phone in the corner.

Went here with my mom for lunch and the butter chicken was amazing. Very nice food as i have tried some indian restaurants in the eastern suburbs and this one is my favorite. The peshuari nan and the mango lassi are the best!! :)

I'm a massive Indian foodie and it is pretty good

Pros
- good quality ingredients
- good location
- Flavour is pretty westernized but depending on what you get tastes pretty good
- Colourful restaurant
- Serves alcohol

Cons
- had better indian before
-small bowls

Despite living in Bondi for months, I had never been to this place. It would appear the locals feel a similar way, as it never looks full. I was prepared to put that down to the locals being so white that they were too busy getting sleeve tatts and practicing their pronunciation of "quinoa" to worry about Indian food.

Ordered chicken tikka and curry fish for entrées and soon discovered why I'd never ordered fish from an Indian before. All I could taste was batter, and I'm sure there's a joke in there that involves cricket and oral sex. But that would be about as funny as the fish I ate.

The main, however, was almond pumpkin lamb. And this was good. Quite good. The lamb may have been slightly tough, but the gravy was delicious. The lady had eggplant something-or-other. I lost interest at the word "eggplant". But, like a brave frontline trooper, I tried the gravy and it was actually tasty. Didn't bother with the eggplant, as I am not a maniac.

The naan and rice and pappadums were all standard and ok. This place was certainly not bad. But it didn't inspire or demand interest. There are certainly better Indian places (see my review of Faheem's in Newtown), but I'm sure there are worse.

Come here, if only to escape the throngs of Bondi people with their Lorna Jane yoga-pants and NY caps. Just don't expect too much from the food. Service was decent yet unimpressive.

The Indian restaurant was the second option for lunch today. It turned out to be good one. A small and narrow restaurant that you may easily miss. They have a beautiful menu including vegetarian and non-vegetarian. All curries dishes are good. Highly recommended!!

The restaurant looks inviting, good service from the handsome Caucasian man! Food was hit and miss. We ordered the beef vindaloo and eggplant curry. The vindaloo was too red and the taste was average. The eggplant curry was great though!

O-M-G the palak paneer is the best I've ever had. And the Namaste chicken curry is a total winner too. Both were aromatic and complex with a depth I expect but often don't experience in ordinary Indian restaurants. There's lots more on the menu I'd like to try.

The dahl was pretty so-so and while my friend loved the eggplant with potato (which I usually adore) I found it bland and greasy.

This place really only looses points for the frightful decor ... they would be bursting with customers if it weren't so awful ... or if it were at the so-bad-it's-good end of tacky. But it's not. It's just jarring and frumpy in the way only poorly executed sincere intention can be ... such a pity. But the food is worth it! Go for the food. At least your order will always arrive quickly (though they were doing a lot of takeaway)

Half a chicken that you couldn't even call a quarter chicken. Very rude response when I voiced this, saying the suppliers gave small chickens so 'deal with it' Would not recommend for the quality, size of portions or rude service.

I went here on 11 July with a group of friends for their 5 course Groupon deal. After seating ourselves we waited over 10 minutes to finally be greeted by a server. What were they so busy with? Take away orders. After eating here I understand why. Their curries are good, but their service is terrible. Their venue also leaves much to be desired. I really appreciate ambiance when eating food from other cultures. It's part of the dinning experience. If you remove the service and bad décor from the equation you can have a pretty enjoyable meal. We ordered the butter chicken, korma, mango chicken, and eggplant vegetarian curry. I recommend them all. Don't make the mistake of sitting down for a meal here though. This is a take away joint.

Disgusting. Worst meal I have ever had. Ordered beef and lamb and both were inedible chewy bits of fat. Literally could not even swallow the pieces of 'meat'. Completely disgusting. I had to throw it in the bin as it wasn't even fit for my dog. Will stick to Jewel on the Bay next time.

Least authentic indian curry I've ever had. I ordered a chicken jalfrezi with extra whole green chilli as should appear in a jalfrezi, the lady assured me it contained them. When the curry arrived it looked like it was home made by a non indian person who has never seen an Indian curry before.
As per the photo it had a watery, strange orange colour sauce. It contained no chillis but what appeared to be tinned sweet corn, carrot cubes, and tinned green beans and peas. By restaurant standards this curry was the worst I've ever had, the sauce looked like it had been made with a powder, no fresh ingredients such as onion or tomato.
Simply the worst Indian curry I have ever experienced. How is this place still in business? Namaste... Step up your game.

I have been wanting to go to namaste for a while now the restaurant brig so close to my house.... Until I walked down cox avenue one night to see two of the chef dumping a huge amount of deep frying oil into the street drain!!!!
Really? Who does this!! If a company is willing to turn a blind eye on something like this I don't want to know what they are willing to do! I won't bother eating there! Ever!
