Review Bribie Island Bowls Club - Bongaree

Our stop for lunch while heading home from the Sunshine Coast. Outdoor seating provides a good view of the beach. Lucky we to have the table as staffs said you need to reserve especially during the weekend. As we both were not too hungry, so we ordered two glasses of white wine snd shared a seafood plate. The seafood plate was very fresh and delicious, and the wine was good too. Staffs were very friendly too, so really enjoy the lunch.

Visited to join the social club. Good facilities, polite staff. To top it all a most fantastic view of the beach and water. Waiting to try the menu. Located in beautiful area with most shops and amenities. Popular for fishing, walking, cycling, hiring water craft or reading, relaxing. Building upgrade on the club to commence soon. A must visit if coming to Bribie or already living here like us. Impressed.

We had dinner on the balcony with the sun set. Magnificent. The food is nice pub fare with pub wine list, all at a reasonable price. Service great.

We had the most amazing lunch today. Good old chicken snitz plus ham with yum salad and side of chips. A mate ordered the steak and it looked mouth watering. Enjoyed the food and a spot of pokies and headed out onto the upstairs balcony overlooking the ocean off Bribie Island into the passage. Keep your eyes out for dolphins as they pass by in the afternoon.

Atmosphere is great food was good, reasonably priced. I wouldn't recommend seafood lingerie or snitzel with seafood, seafood is not fresh it's frozen. Staff were friendly, good location.

The garlic bread is great!

The food is delicious and worth every penny. The atmosphere is relaxing, watching the sunset over the water while having a nice meal with your favourite company. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks Bribie bowls. 😀

Good range of meals on offer for lunch including lunch specials. Wait wasn't very long for meals and service was great. A really enjoyable lunch.

Loved my steak and salt, pepper octopus, and down a jack to wash it down. The meat keeper at it right temperature and music was my taste, not loud but in the background. Waited for the dolphin to swim by at sunset, missed them this time but will come back again.

Worst gluten free meal I have ever had. The choices were not only sad but one meal on the list that I ordered first up wasn't gluten free.

Friendly staff and meals were nice but the best bit was the view and if you're looking for a caravan park to book look next door

FANTASTIC decision to trial to moving smoking away from the balcony that looks at the Passage! More people will come here for the great view (smoke free) and eat here as well (smoke free). This is the best club in Qld! I'm a bit biased. But hey! Smoking is anti social and our club needs to reflect that. Go BIBC!

We had dinner there last night. First of all I would like to say that the guy behind the bar was fantastic (sorry, don't know his name) but went out of his way to help us choose a bottle of wine. He made us want to come back. Unfortunately, when we went to the restaurant, things deteriorated. The waiter was very friendly but when my husband ordered a beef and vegetable stir fry and I had a thai beef salad, we were told they had no vegetables for the stir fry - and it was 6pm!!! My thai beef salad was missing the peanuts and noodles that were mentioned in the menu - just beef, tomato, lettuce and onion. Such a shame as the club has such potential. Will give them another try next time we come up from the Gold Coast.

Went for breakfast Sunday. Meal was nice, although I was very disappointed, in this day and age, they don't cater for people with ceoliac, and didn't have any gluten free bread, so no toast.

Love the club but the meals are going backwards. 4 Crumbed flathead tails with half a teaspoon of tartare sauce. Now that is tight. I would have that in one mouthful. I was going to go back and ask for more, but decided that I shouldn't have to. I will visit the club again but will never eat there again. Next time back to the RSL.

My family planned a surprise birthday party for me at the bowls club and everyone there were amazing. The bare foot bowls was great fun and the members who helped out were very patient and helpful. The barbecue was very tasty and good value. A fun night out thanks.

Didn't get to eat tonight... had the roast previous night... not good!! I like bubbles... ended up changing to white wine because the bubbles glasses were hopeless... sent the bubbles flat on contact. #check the glasswasher. Nice community club though.

Definitely best food on Bribie, can't wait until the deck is completed for alfresco dining with amazing views.

The Frank Spencer show was amazing. The food was nice too, lamb shank alternative with fish. An amazingly talented singer and impersonator.

Went to dinner here a few nights ago. The place is completely different. New renovations. The atmosphere is perfect. Magnificent views out over the passage. The food is beautiful. I had the grilled barramundi with chips and salad. Not many chips, so I was still I little hungry. But the meal tasted excellent. Wednesday night is cheap fish night (surprise for me at the time). Saved $10. I was really impressed with the portion sizes of the chicken parmigiana and T-bone steak my folks had. And also how much better looking the bowls club has become. Will be great once the renovations are completed. Service was friendly and welcoming; waiting times as expected when busy. Will definitely be making a return and likely become members.

Worst place to eat on bribie island.!
Party of 13 for lunch..food appauling. cook seen mixing salad by hand..no gloves on..the dumping onto plates with his hand..
No vegetarian options..customer got a shrug of indifference and told they could buy a sandwich in the coffee bar.
A party member was told they would have to wait 20 minutes for cup of coffee..
Tables filthy and not cleared..
Very disappointing lunch..

Food is consistently good here! Staff so friendly. Great kids meals and the drinks come with cute animal decorations which my kids love! Really enjoy it.

Had a fantastic meal here last week I was confused as read previous negative reviews but found out from owners at caravan park that new caterers have been in there for 8 months and they recommended it to us I had pork spare ribs which was the best I have had my wife had salt & pepper squid salad which she said was so nice the place was full Which is always a good sign
We tried most places on Bribie the bowls club was the best by far

The chips were good..... My wife and I had one of the worst dining experiences of our lives at the BIBC. The "Fishermans Platter" boasting of prawns, scallops, fish and calamari was a plate of deep fried batter. Taste wise it was impossible to distinguish which was which. During ordering, it was asked if the fish could be crumbed, the answer being a no as "it comes pre-made in batter", even though one of the other menu items was crumbed fish. The "Rump Steak" could not be cut with the steak knife provided. The "Garlic and Parmesan Cheese Bread" was two pieces of thick bread with butter, garlic and cheese. We were both envious of our three year olds selection of pizza and chips (which was a McCains Pizza single sprinkled with parsley). All this for $50.40.

An oasis of decent food in a sea of rubbish. Typical club style food options with friendly service. Local whiting was a winner as was the roast beef of the day. Many of the other options in this area of Bribie are limited to say the least. Recommended.
