Review Bangkok Gardens - Boronia

Alex Law
Spacious and clean restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient. Great menu with many options available. The curries were a little bit sweet to my liking. Stir fry veggies with crispy pork was nice. The price for a portion of white rice is a little bit steep if you are a big rice eater.

Bangkok Delight is a better than average Thai restaurant. Pleasant decor, great food and very good service.

After months since my last Thai green chicken curry - this was exactly what I had imagined when I placed my order tonight. It was perfection! From the flavour, to the veggies included and the perfectly cooked chicken. It reminded me of why I love this meal so much! It was also exactly what it said in the menu. Thank you!

I never leave this restaurant on an empty stomach. So much delicious food and the service is second to none! If you're a fan of fresh, authentic Thai please come to this local gem!

Best authentic and delicious Thai food in the area. Lovely friendly owners and generous servings. We are regulars and so are our friends.

Walk in and feel the ambiance of Thai. Green walls with photo frames on the wall. The floors look slightly run down. Roti bread quite flat with a sweet peanut satay sauce. Pad se ew - silky rice noodles. The flavour is slightly salty Coconut rice- soft, fluffy rice with a light coconut flavour. Gang massamun neur- thick sauced beef currys which was semi sweet with the tenderest beef that falls apart . Chicken green curry - thick with a string coconut flavour. Generous amount of thick sliced chicken. Beef salad - meat is slightly thick. The sauce is quite salty

Authentic Thai flavours that absolutely flow from the country’s northern region. And since international travel is out of the question for most of us, this is the perfect opportunity to remind our taste buds of the true soul of Thailand. Staff are friendly and attentive, the decor has recently had a stylish upgrade creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, well, the Money Bags are a flavour filled delight, as are the Satay Chicken Skewers. The Gang Dang GF is without doubt a highlight on an already stellar menu. The Pad Thai is a fantastic barometer for the high level of flavour and quality Bangkok Delight provides. This restaurant is now in my permanent top five.

They are really good with gluten free food. Ordered many times before and no cross-contamination!! Not to mention, the food is always delicious!!

With the aim of tasting as many cuisines from from one location, I chose to hit up Bangkok gardens in my next round of support your local business strategy. And I was pleasantly surprised. The store is located in a very popular spot in the leafy suburbs of Boronia. There is always ample of parking. However, as I got my food delivered, I can’t say much about the internal decor at this time. From the moments I have walked past it, it’s been a wonderful setting and I look forward to visiting the store soon once this is all done.

Some authentic thai dishes you can find here and it is also available for delivery (ubereats etc) food was good and portion was decent.<br/>I loved the tom yum fried rice and fries noodles.<br/>Although i had soggy pad thai delivered once on ubereats so unsure whether id order that again. Never had any soup but will try next time!

Yummy food! Good almost authentic Thai food. I recently went to Thailand and food was almost the same. Only thing is they don’t do delivery anymore, so I have had to change for that reason. But good for a nice in town dinner out.

the staff here are absolutely gorgeous and so friendly, it's always a warm welcome with lots of attention to a high provision of service and making sure customers leave with a smile and a very full belly.<br/>after visiting many times given it's a local Thai restaurant, there is lots of inconsistency especially between eat in versus take away. the food varies in quality and quantity but is always a good option for a cheap and quick meal.

My favourite Thai restaurant. Prices are cheaper than most I’ve been to and the food is never a let down! On busy nights it’s best to book and leave yourself extra time to eat and enjoy.

Beef curries that melt in your mouth and hot curries with flavours that burn themselves into your memory. Decor is simple and authentic and the beer is cold.

A great Thai restaurant, very friendly and welcoming. Rather quiet for a Saturday night. Many seats to choose from. I have seen this restaurant booked out many times.<br/><br/>Ordered an appetizer of money bags (4) pieces, main course number 38 Pad See Ew with prawns and the dessert was Thai style coconut custard. Also plenty of Gen Matcha tea.<br/><br/>Everything was perfect. A really delicious meal. Perfect timing on the service. The total was just over $60 for two people.<br/><br/>We regularly eat out at Japanese, Thai, Korean and Chinese restaurants. Bangkok Gardens is one to visit.<br/><br/>Sorry no photo for the desert it was too good !<br/><br/>Looks really clean in the restaurant, although I did let the owners know that the toilet doors do not lock.

I always feel out a new Thai restaurant by ordering some old street favourites. Typically some sort of combination involving pad thai, pad see ew or pad kra pow. For this local spot, I chose the two former dishes, plus some spring rolls.<br/>The pad thai on first impression was great and very tasty. Like many pad thais I've tried around Melbourne, they get everything right, but end up being too salty-sweet. I don't know whether this is because they don't have access to/don't use tamarind juice or a suitable substitute in the cooking process, but the dish definitely lacks that tang in the overall flavour that cuts through the other sub-flavours to a degree. This pad thai was this style all over again. I did enjoy it for a while, but I miss the real deal. The pad see ew was a strange one. All the elements were there, except it tasted like they'd heaped in some Asian five spice, or at least something that gave it strong and peculiar undertones. This didn't make it inedible by any means, just really odd, and once again, left me wanting the real flavour. The spring rolls were decent. Crispy, with filling and size being on point. With the other mains being $15 each, I certainly wouldn't say that what I got was worth it. Judging by the standard of these favourites, I don't think I will be back.

Absolutely sensational <br/>The food the service the chilled out atmosphere <br/>Everything about this place is great <br/>I'm on a holiday in Thailand in this restaurant

Bangkok Graden - has the best BBQ Chicken, tender and juicy. The thai green curry is creamy and packed with flavours ! <br/><br/>Have been going here for 2 years - friendly staff and quite atmosphere.

Food was great as always - had the flowers cups, chicken satay sticks & chicken pad Thai. We don't come here for the service, we come for the food, but tonight the service was extremely slack. It was impossible to get the attention of stuff and had to wait around 40 minutes for our food.
Melissa Yeap
My two friends and I shared the flower cups (6 pieces) as the starters. We were so intrigued by this dish! It was something different and we really liked it. We also had the duck red curry, pad thai with chicken and fried rice with beef to share as our mains. Portions were generous so we struggled to finish it! Just a tiny bit of leftovers. The staff were very friendly and patient with us. :)
GoodFood4Me
Ordered take away here for the first time. We will not be back. The chicken satay tasted ok but the satay sauce was too oily and it looked like corn flour had been used. Corn flour or any other filler should never be used. It should be just a peanut paste base with coconut milk and chilli. The coconut rice was in a shallow take away dish whereas you can get it in a deep dish for about the same price with a competitor. I had a slightly upset tummy afterwards.
Belinda
Have eaten in the restaurant and take away. Food is delicious and full of flavour. Have received warm and pleasant service all times. Would be our go to local Thai for sure!

The food speaks for itself. The Tom yum was yum as was the green curry with coconut rice. Kids enjoyed the satay chicken. Service was however slow due to roaring takeaway business. Nice people!

Been here on various occasions and have also ordered takeaway numerous times. THE CHEFS, OWNERS, WAITRESSES AND WAITERS ARE SO NICE MAN. CONSISTENT SERVICE, BIH. Can't fault the food just wish they had a variety. The decor is outdated but bih, I dont go out to eat to look at the walls. <br/>

The service is pretty good. Good can take a while to come out and I think it tastes a bit too rich but is not terrible. Decor is a bit dated.

This is a lovely thai restaurant! The people that work there are so warm and friendly, and have excellent customer service. The food is delicious, and is of reasonably good value. I highly recommend the money bags as an entree! I come here regularly now with family and friends, as we know that we will always have an enjoyable meal here.

Foodie. Another neighbour hood gem the food here is really good and so are the staff, we have been there a few times now and have never been disappointed. The menu has a lot of choice and the banquets are really good value as well, it is also great that it is byo, prices are reasonable as well. If you are looking for yummy thai food give this place a go it has won a few awards as well, thanks once again to my friend Kathy who recommend this place.

Will reuturn. Hard to fault!

Happy patrons. My husband is so fussy about his tom yum. Bangkok Gardens impressed him with its spiciness and my 92 year old mum was satified with the milder salad. Going back again.

First time and will be going back. Food was great, service was good. Very busy little place.
Amy
Surprisingly good. It was packed when I went on a Thursday night, which is a great sign. Food was really quite delicious! Had a red curry with beef and a stir fry with chicken (forgot the name), both beautiful. Would definitely visit again!

Delish!. We just had takeaway from here, in a word, magnificent. Gang Dang curry is amazing, pad Thai is very tasty too. A new favorite for us. A must try!

AUTHENTIC!!. Going to Bangkok Gardens for 4 years and counting.<br/>Food is SENSATIONAL, every time, and just like I would get in Thailand :)<br/>Authentic atmosphere, family business and lovely service - feels like home.<br/>Best Thai dishes I have had in Melbourne (I have looked EVERYWHERE!!!)<br/>Anybody who does not love this place should go to McDonald's as they clearly do not appreciate a quality restaurant :P

Worth the drive. Great food. Tasty and fresh. Very busy restaurant, so make sure you book. Great Pad Thai prawns. We hope to be back again soon.

Great food... Tasty pad thai...

Awesome!!. My boyfriend and I ate here the other night and loved it! We are both pretty fussy and unadventurous eaters, and we were really really impressed with our dinner here! I had the pad yellow stir fry and he had the green curry. Both were delicious but we can't wait to go back and next time we will both be eating the pad yellow! The flavours were amazing!!<br/><br/>Prices have gone up though, add about $5 to the price on the menu on this website. The dishes were approximately $16 each rather than $11

Great Meals...glad we went. Having lived in Asia for some time we wanted something authentic for our meal. Tucked away in Boronia the "Bangkok Gardens" was a pleasant environment, clean and friendly.... and my reservation just as i had booked.<br/>A good selection of meals available and we asked for "SPICY" as the cuisine, and they delivered just as we order... bang on with flavour, taste, spices.<br/>Our Mayasian waitress was very pleasant... no fuss and bother, enough time to chat at the table and meals came with enough time between (not too fast or slow) They were busy and in winter the restaurant was warm. No complaints... Oh! prices seemed reasonable.

My wife and I lived in Bangkok for 3 yrs so without a doubt we can validate that Bangkok Gardens really does serve food with the same taste & flavours that we used to enjoy in Thailand. Service is very friendly. If you want authentic Thai food at good prices then this is the place to go.

Me and my mum went here tonight, and it was beautiful! was great food, would go again.

Not a fan. Very average flavors. There are better local thai restaurants around. But saying that, my parents love it. Personal choice

Went with my girlfriend a few months ago, the Mussaman curry and Coconut Custard were by far the most delicious dishes I have had in a long while and I have been back every week for the exact same thing. To die for is a good way to put the quality of the meals there.

I went to Bangkok Gardens last Saturday night, the restaurant was buzzing. I had booked a table so I avoided what looked like a 15 minute wait for a table, when I arrived I was greeted in a very friendly way and shown to my table. My wife and I had flower cups and curry puffs for entrees, they arrived within 15 minutes and were beautiful, the satay sauce accompanying the curry puffs was delicious. Our mains of yellow curry and the Bangkok Gardens beef were very nice, I didn't know what to expect as I have never been to Thailand but it was really unforgettable. It was a great night all up.

Beautiful food, staff hard to understand but friendly and attentive.

Fantastic Thai Restaurant. The food here is great - I would recomend the Green Curry and the chicken Pad Phed. Roti Bread and Coconut Rice are also a must. The service is also fantastic, the staff are always very welcoming and more than happy to help.<br/>Make sure that you book as it is a pretty popular place!

The service here was really good. Everything we asked for was done quickly and the staff where all happy and smiling. In addition, the food was really good - particularly the massaman curry and the Tom yum.. I feel like immediately returning for more -bdub

Tasty but not authentic. Ordered many various dishes, all the meals were tasty but had absolutely no heat from chillis at all which was disappointing. Service was very efficient and place was clean. Definately made for western tastes. If you're expecting authentic thai food with heat this is not the place!

Terrific Thai!. My family and I received a voucher for Bangkok Garden and went there on Easter Monday.<br/>Although the voucher wasn't valid on public holidays they accepted it anyway.<br/><br/>The food was amazing! <br/>Can't fault a thing. <br/>The service was fast and friendly even though they were clearly very busy.<br/><br/>Try the Thai Green Curry, Prawn Cashews, and Chicken Pad Thai.<br/><br/>Amazing restaurant...will definatley be going back!

Average westernized thai. After reading all the reviews I thought that this restaurant would be a jack out of the box in significance to surrounding local Thai restaurants. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The food was average but quite edible and somewhat tasty for the famished soul. The service was excellent and the setting quite typical of an outer east Thai restaurant. We sampled the spring rolls which were small but not bad, yet nothing to rave about. We also tried the spicy fried calamari, which actually did not have a chilly kick to it but rather a peanut sweet crunchy batter. The calamari quite not up to market freshness. Our main was not bad, yet it needed a lemongrass touch alongside some more heated spice in it. My coconut rice was very disappointing, however not so if you appreciate coconut rice with only a smidgeon of coconut milk and no sweetness. Drinks menuu average but the great thing was that a glass of wine was a 2 standard drink mini bottle. Recommend to any local who can't be fussed driving that little further to better Thai restaurants in station st bayswater or Thai tables. Will not be returning soon.

Fresh tasty Thai food. A great cheap local with all the essential menu items. The Thai beef salad is bursting with flavour and fresh ingredients.

Very happy customer. If there is one thing my family and i miss from our stay in thailand last year it was the food. Friends of ours mentioned they had been longtime customers of Bangkok Gardens and we thought we'd give it a go. I'm so wrapped that we found this little slice of Thailand, Ive just booked our familys 6th function here and we are really looking forward to our booking. The staff are fantastic, food very fresh not to mention fabulous and the prices are great, what more could one ask for :-)
Laura
Fantastic restaurant, best authentic Thai food. Lovely staff!
Glenn

Best Thai in the Area. What can I say about Bangkok Gardens? Well eat here almost fortnightly, and the food is fantastic. The price is also great for any Asian restaurant in the area. <br/><br/>Compared to any other Thai in the area this place wins hands down for great food, value and good service. It always seems to be fairly busy but never too noisy. The staff here are among the friendliest you will ever have, and remain a main reason along with the food you will come back here.

A must to go. Have to say that the food and service are of high standard even my fussy daughter which has not had Thai before liked it. I would recommend it to anyone to try.

Perfect! (สมบูรณ์). Found this great Thai restaurant earlier this year. I now go every Sunday night when I am in Melbourne and have introduced a lot of my friends to its many delights.<br/><br/>The food, service and prices are all top class and the range of choice not too large or too small.<br/><br/>The Thai owners, Paul and Emily always make every Customer feel special and valuable.<br/><br/>It's the highlight of my week to eat and socialise there.
Brigitte
Happy customer. Fantastic and tasty authentic thai food. Best thai food ever tasted. Love the menu, especiallty the yellow curry mains and chicken skewers entree. Fast and courteous service with a smile. Happy and relaxed atmosphere. Easy parking.

Bangkok Gardens. Hands down, the best thai in the area.

A REAL Taste of Thai.... Best Thai food I have ever tasted! The staff are fantastic and exceptionally accomodating. My partner has to be on a very strict Gluten Free diet- they made his food especially with no dramas! The chargrilled pork is to die for, and their spring rolls are out of this world! Everytime we leave we are planning our next visit. Be sure to book, they fill up quick.

Fantastic. The food is very authentic and the staff are exceptionally welcoming. Thoroughly recomend it. Best to book as this is very popular.
