Review Centennial Vineyards Restaurant - Bowral

Overall the winery + restaurant is beautiful. When we were there they had the main dining hall setup for a wedding dinner that night, the setup was very grand and beautiful, due to that all diners had to dine at the Alfresco area, which was beautiful facing the vineyard, yet all the glass windows/doors were all closed, made it rather stuffy and noisy with everything trapped inside. The staffs were friendly and helpful, however, the food service between Entrée and Main were quite long, especially with a little kid at the table, she began to lose her patience. We were there for more than 1.5hrs for a two course lunch. It was unexpected that their wine list didn't have much of their own wine to choose for pairing. We were really hoping to see how they can pair their wine with the food on the menu. The food was a bit up and down, we had some amazing Entrée, with the Cauliflower highly recommended and the Slate plate was a delight! However, the Mains didn't live up to the standard set, the Seafood pasta arrived just warm, which degraded the taste quite a bit. I ordered the special of the day, Lamb three ways, which was rather bland and dry, and it felt like three separate dishes, rather than a cohesive dish, that's rather disappointing for a special of the day. The kid's fish and chip, where the fish was WAY overcooked, it was so dry that the three year old didn't want to finish it. I really hope that our experience was not the norm, as we believe the restaurant should be high standard, but maybe they were preparing for the big wedding that night, and hence, have affected that lunch dining experience.

This was a wonderful lunch experience. The view of the estate was stunning, the staff were all so lovely and the food was exceptional. I highly recommend the zucchini blossoms, confit duck and veggie dumplings.

Food and view was great! If the servicing staff could be a bit more attentive than would be perfect! We enjoyed the visit regardless.

I will be honest... I didn't think much of the wine. I have a reasonable pallet and have a good appreciation of what to compare their wines against within comparable Australian wines, and although the wi ery is very very pretty and a lovely place to be, the wi e itself didn't stand up to tasting challenge. The staff, however, we lovely and engaging and that is why it was given the 4 stars, not because of their produce.

Perfection. The service and the meal was perfect. The tasting platter was a beautiful combination of delicious mouthfuls and my husband's squid salad was so smoky and melted in your mouth. The squid ink fettucine with the most plump scallops and crab was devine. My husband also enjoyed the exotic mushroom vol-au vent. We also shared the bang bang cauliflower bites. Yum. All finished off with beautiful wines. We will be back. We couldn't fit dessert in...Next time Thanks

The setting is wonderful and relaxing and we had high hopes of a lovely long lunch. Entrees were delicious, I had the mushroom dumplings and was very satisfied. Our plates were whisked away as soon as our last mouthful was taken and our mains came straight out without a moment to breath. We were in the later sitting on a Sunday so I don’t feel like we needed to be rushed out for new customers. Our mains were very very below average. I had the pork loin which was just an expensive pork snitty I could have got from a pub on the $10 special nights. It was way over cooked, lacked flavour and did not fit the description on the menu. My friend had the prawn linguine which was over cooked, pasta wasn’t even linguine and watery. We were not tempted to try dessert. We won’t be going back which is so disappointing as the setting is just beautiful. The cellar door on the other hand was fabulous. Bella did our tasting and was so knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed her chats. We purchased many bottles and will be back.

Beautiful spot. The restaurant has a spacious dining area with a soaring ceiling and warm fire whilst also offering a view of the vineyard. My tasting slate and crab linguine were delicious. Friendly and professional service. A very enjoyable lunch with the kids.

A wet day - so we looked for a suitable place for lunch. Staff were attentive and friendly - beautiful location. My wife had Barramundi and I had whiting fillets - We had the bread with oil and Balsamic for starters. The food was excellent - beautifully cooked and served. Chardonnay was excellent (a bit pricey - but that's to be expected). A most enjoyable lunch experience. I would recommend the restaurant.
