Review Sut And Wine - Box Hill

Benjamin Wong
Clean place with good options of BBQ sets, slightly pricey, but with the amount of food served. Waiters had time to serve us initially by helping us bbq the meats, but when the restaurant gets busy, we do it ourselves since our meat get burnt, but good thing about that is they replace the burnt meats too, great service

Service is good but the food quality has diminished quite a bit from when it first started; the table grill options are still good, but I recommend skipping the Korean hotspot "casseroles". Still quite an impressive list of wines on offer. Gets really busy and a booking is a must if you are looking for a table at dinner.

Classiest Korean BBQ place around. To date is still probably the premier venue for Korean BBQ; foodwise and wine list/drink list. Great set up, roomy and very pleasant service, just the exhaust is not strong enough, you'll come home with that BBQ aroma. Still classy though.

After we left due to extremely unkind manager looking waiter at Secret kitchen, I rang Sut and Wine and made a booking. I have requested window seat, waitress advised me on the phone window seat wasn't available and I told her to put best possible seats on hold, we were guided into window seat when we arrived. As we planned approx $200 with duck place originally, we chose $130 meat set for 2 and seafood tufu soup for 2. As always, foods were fantastic, amount were good enough for 4 adults and 2 young kids. It would have been 5 star if main waitress had some smile on her face, she had face with no emotion. Another non-korean waitress were kind and shot very great photo for us too,

Overall good selection of dishes and BBQ meat. The only down side is that our pork got burnt. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether we should wait for staff to turn the meat for us or do it ourselves. When we do it ourselves, they come and take over..

Very yummy, reasonable price, comfy and stylish place, some one will do the BBQ for you on the table. I especially like the set beef. Our favourite restaurant in boxhill !!!

Went to Sut and Wine in Whitehorse road Boxhill for diner on 1/11/2013. Very disappointed. Beef ribs and Pork loin for BBQ were well overpriced - even 5 stars hotel like Sofitel has bigger serving than this Korean restaurant. Each pricy small serving can only feed a kid. Only a few tiny pieces of meat. If you are an adult, you need to order 2 to 3 serving. There were only a small side dish of tiny carrots and a few lettuce. Miserable thin serving of kimchi that can be blown away with a breath. You need to pay extra for rice and veg. In short, you get more in value and taste for a KFC or a big Mac, then this SUT & Wine Korean restaurant. After you paid the expensive bill, you still have an empty stomach. Compared to a Chinese restaurant in Preston that I went last month. Price was reasonable and serving was generous. Will never go back to this Korean restaurant again. Can predict this Korean restaurant will close down soon - with so many near by good restaurants that can serve generous food portion with reasonable price and great taste.

Good service and yummy fried chicken

Yummy food. Thank you. Just like in Gangnam. Service is great and Wagyu was super tasty. 감사합니다. 맛있어요.

We came by on a Saturday night. The restaurant was half full. We ordered a few cuts of wagyu beef, steamed egg and side veggies. The quality of the meat was good - fatty and tender. Unlike other restaurants. they don’t cook the food for you. I was a little annoyed by the waiters and waitresses just standing around not helping. What I liked about this place is that there’s a heated ring around the bbq which they filled with canned pineapple, raw garlic in sesame oil and cheese corn. The cheese corn was delicious. The furniture is oily and a little sticky and needs a good clean. Halfway through the meal the black grease from the vent on top of the bbq dripped onto our veggies on the bbq and we had to ask the staff to change it for us and clean the vent which they kindly did. In summary, the food is pretty good but service needs improvement.

Great food and ambience

Pros: the cheesy chicken stew was flavoured really well with a very generous amount of cheese! Not too spicy which is what I like. The steamed egg here has seaweed added on top, a nice complement.<br/><br/>Cons: steamed eggs were a bit dry.

We have been to Soko a few times now and they have value for money BBQ meat sets available. The place is looking pretty run down though with seat coverings that are coming off and taped up ceilings. Service remains unchanged with staff not being very hands on with the cooking process. <br/><br/>Having said all that though, the food continues to be delicious. On our most recent visit, we had the fried chicken with spicy sauce which was packed with flavour. The bulgogi stew was tasty and had lots of beef in it. We had the BBQ beef set and portions were quite generous. <br/><br/>Soko is still a good choice for Korean food. <br/><br/>Previously:<br/><br/>We came to Soko on their opening weekend a few months ago (note that the overall zomato score and reviews are also based on Soko's predecessor Sut and Wine). We were totally underwhelmed by that first visit. Craving for some Korean BBQ, we decided to give Soko a second chance. <br/><br/>Fortunately, it was a great decision. The food has certainly improved significantly and I'm in love with their fried chicken - boneless pieces of well seasoned and carefully fried tender succulent chicken...mmmm. <br/><br/>The pork set was delicious but we were slightly disappointed by the wagyu set - the beef was chewy. The kimchi soup was spicy and full of ingredients including seafood. And the kimchi was addictive. <br/><br/>The main down point was the not very attentive service. Expect to cook your own meats even though Soko appears to be adequately staffed - they seem to like to congregate near the entrance to exchange their stories of the day. <br/><br/>Extra points for their 'live' musician - it made our second Soko experience very pleasant.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night (3 people) without booking, it was about a 20 minute wait which we were fine with. The meat and sides were delicious and portions were okay. However, it took a long time for the food to come out. Granted they were busy, however majority of the food is cooked by the customer anyway on their bbq plate.

Great food and atmosphere. Only K BBQ place that also has small side dishes served on the side of their grill. Super cool.<br/><br/>Chicken was delicious and the sauces provided were perfect. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back!

Lovely kbbq restaurant in Box Hill with a great set menu. We came as a large group, and despite not having a table booking, they decided to accommodate for us. We ordered the set F, which came with a plate of wagyu, a plate of beef and seafood, as well as a giant pot of stew which they call a casserole. We even ordered original fried chicken which was incredibly succulent and juicy, yet still crunchy. The meats were all of a high standard, and cooked on coals which is an added bonus, as it gives a more charcoal taste. The only down side is the wait staff don't help you cook and cut it at this restaurant, nor do they help change your grill pan. They gave us very blunt scissors which was a pain to cut some meats with tendon. We also ordered kimchi pancake, which was average, and ddukbokki, which wasn't spicy and actually sweet which we didn't like. But the meat and the fried chicken, as well as the stew, makes up for it. We each paid around 40$ each, which is what you'd expect from KBBQ. 100% would return now that I know what's great and what's not so much.
Kayla Wong
Big portions for the beef set for 2p, we ordered that and a bibimbap and an extra LA style rib for a table of 5, and we left full. quality of the beef is pretty good, the bulgogi beef stew was yum, and so was the bibimbap. Good price and good food, would recommend.

Overall great food, ok experience, soko is a restaurant that mainly focus on BBQ but also have decent amount of non bbq dishes. Singing performance on saturday night, the staff are efficient but they will not help you bbq the meat. Price wise not too expensive, one thing to note is becareful with the vegetable, they don't wash it.
Cher H
Very disappointed to see a hair in the casserole. <br/>So disgusting....<br/><br/>They only refunded the casserole...<br/><br/>I can’t imagine what the back kitchen is like...the setup, the hygiene requirements, the management...wouldn’t be pleasant I suppose...
Michelle
Love this place. Best Korean bbq in bokkie. Been here over two times and the food is always great. Big serving sizes, even for the set menu. You never need to add extra meat or dishes there is always enough. Love it!!

We ordered the Set B Combination Set for 2 people ($78) and it was the best Korean BBQ experience! The staff were quick to your service and would help you to change the hot plate when it gets too dark. The ambience was perfect and the exhaust pipe is adjustable in terms of height. The food was amazing! Absolutely love the soup, the rice, the salad, the pineapples, and the pork combo! Some of the pork came in seasoned so was slightly spicy but we left feeling the food coma in full effect! <br/><br/>Will go back again and recommend to all those who don’t normally like Korean BBQ like me. This is definitely worth a try!
Evonneww69
Third time being here, worst time. The seafood pancake tasted awful, terrible oily, made me feel sick, can be found from the picture. Kept waiting for the seafood spicy soup around 30m. Also tasted not so good in the end, felt like just cooked water with chili powder. <br/>So disappointed, will not come back anymore.

Enough quantity for two people as we have ordered beef set which offers different flavours, I highly recommend to try this restaurant. I love the sea food soup, the baby oyster is so fresh, the soup is tasty and suitable for winter. Staff helped us to cook, very nice.
Soft Cheese Hard Core
Nice fresh ingredients that you cook yourself. Lots of fun and will be back. Service is what you would expect from international students in suburban Box Hill, not great but not bad.
Angelina An
The food was both delivered quick and with excellent quality. One of the best restaurants I’ve been and definitely suggest to anyone and will be back often
Stella.ryu.miso
First time trying the lunch menu here. Didn’t order the BBQ set but the cold noodle dishes. First side dishes set had hair in it and the second one was so dry we didn’t touch it. The noodles tasted like instant Korean noodle sauces. Disappointing and won’t return to try their other dishes.

This place has dropped badly since a couple of years ago. The grill had turned extremely burned and unless you request, the staff wouldn't change for you. The Korean corn tea costs $6, in China it's free drink, since it's tea bag, i think they over charge it. The meat were average. Would not recommend to anyone.
Lucy Eats
Went here with my boyfriend and neither of us enjoyed the dinner. The staffs was inattentive and not flexible when we asked to swap from 2 rice to something else and I don’t think they understood, plus they all looked upset all the time, even when the customers left, there was no greeting at all(?!). The meat was average and the egg on the side of the grill was tasteless. The only plus point was the charcoal the meat a bit juicy. Overall, would highly not recommend.
Ling Yuan
Great conversion from the previous restaurant, feels more lively now. The meat quality and quantity are excellent, many different BBQ sets to choose from and definitely enough food to feed the hungry meat lovers. Good place for friends or family gathering.
Piyarat Pinthong
Very nice restaurant, look very simple, clean and great service!! We had a set of chicken bbq and special beef set and 1 bottle of soju, the total is $194 for 5 people which is great and they were giving a lot of food to us, thanks.
Sophie Li
Nice! the wagyu so nice, highly recommended ! Especially I high recommend the chicken soup , so yummy! And staff quite helpful! Environment is good , it seems they also have live music some day ! All in all it is good place to have Wagyu BBQ .
Anthony
Came back for a second time after awhile, we thought to try out one of their menu set. Selected the all beef (set D), which came with a variety of beef and a soup of your choice. We pick the kimchi soup, which was surprisingly good! Would recommend! Food quality was good, we had better customer service the second time here.

Definitely a step down from the Korean restaurant which previously occupied this space (SUT & Wine) in terms of service - where the waiters at SUT were very friendly and welcoming, and prompt to attend to tables, the new waiters at SOKO seemed to spend more time chatting to each other than tending to guests' needs which was quite disappointing. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we notified a waiter that we had a booking, however he didn't seem to be paying attention and walked off. After a few minutes, another waiter came and brought us to our reserved table, however the first waiter then proceeded to come back and attempt to take us to another table further down in the restaurant as he claimed that we did not have a booking. After we ordered our food, the waiters hurriedly rushed out all the meats and did not assist in the cooking process even though we asked for assistance - something which would be understandable if they were very busy, however there were only 2 other tables dining at the time. After a while, one waiter did come and help us cook a piece of meat, however it was evident that he was quite annoyed and impatient, and quickly cut the meat up before walking off to talk to the other waiters.<br/>We ordered the Wagyu set and kimchi pancake which were yummy, and quite filling for 4 people.<br/>Overall, the food was good however the service was very lacking - a far cry from the warm service most would expect from many of the Korean restaurants in Melbourne.
Hungry Dumpling
This place was great! I loved the set menus, I dined with a group of 6 girlfriends and there was enough food. I liked that we could order 2 sets and add extra rice! It gets really busy on Saturday nights. The staff are friendly too!

New owners with new make over. Definetly has gone downhill as you can taste the poor quality of meat used. The beef was extremely poor quality and service was terrible. Be prepared to cook yourself here as the staff are very unattentive. Nothing like previous sut and wine which occupied the same store. We frequent Korean bbq around Melbourne quite often and must say this place was one of my worse experiences. It actually put my partner and myself off eating kbbq for a while after such a terrible experience. I would save your money and give this place a miss. You will thank me later.

Came here on a Sunday night and quite easily scored a table for 4. We used to go to the same spot under a different management so it would be interesting to see what the new one offers.<br/>First off, I havent been to a Korean BBQ restaurant with bad ventilation for a very long time. It was really smokey when we entered. Food selection was good, and they had drinks half price after 8.<br/>We ordered the wagyu set with extra pork belly, marinated chicken, and a seafood pancake.<br/>They really need to clean the fans cos there was oil dripping as we cooked which was really unappealing. If you are used to having someone cooking for you then you may also be disappointed cos we were cooking everything ourselves. And to add as well, their charcoal stove was probably smaller than usual so you can only cook the meat in the middle, hence longer to cook all the food as well.<br/>The food quality was not bad, service was certainly lacking. Waited for menu, waited for rice, waited for someone to attend to us. Won't be in a rush to return.

We use to love coming to SUT when it was still under old management, today when we came we noticed they changed management and everything went downhill from then. 1. As u can see from photo below, the pork belly slices were all half sizes. 2. We had 5 people eating and were given only one serve of side dish and 1 serve of lettuce, when we asked for refill we were told we had to pay extra for lettuce. 3. The place was heavily understaffed. We only saw 3 waiters serving a decent sized restaurant. We cooked ourselves and had to walk up to get soup bowls. The poor waiters were so overworked they were literally running in the restaurant. Overall an utterly disappointing experience. Time to say good bye to the restaurant I grew up with.

One of the best Korean BBQs in town, wagyu and five colored pork belly are the best! I have confirmed with the staff that they are planning to serve tap beers, which is great for the coming World Cup lol. Nice dishes, friendly staff and great services, will come back again for sure!

Readers: SOKO opened in May 2018, whatever you've read in the comments before May is about S&W). Please be aware. They are under different management (confirmed with staff). After SOKO took over just less than a month ago, I told myself to never step into this restaurant ever again after the first time.<br/>MENU: was okay, it's all a la carte (no BBQ sets). Was told that they've just opened and experimenting the menu.<br/>FOOD: We ordered beef scotch fillet, samgyeopsal and some others ,and it's the saddest meal I ever had. The beef was not fresh, grayish, old and thinly sliced. The pork was alright but portion was just enough for 1 person. Actually no, both dishes are only enough for one person (no joke). Other meals, veggies was not fresh, eggs was meh, side dishes was okay and one didn't arrive.<br/>SERVICE: Not impressed. A couple things happened. They are friendly, but not good listeners. 1. I've wrote what I want on the menu and they circled my order, I pointed out that they missed my soy bean paste soup. They acknowledged the mistake, circle the order and sent it to the kitchen. Well, the soup did not came out. I asked about it, they told me I didn't order and even showed me the bill they've keyed into the register. I was not going to argue as long as they did not charge me for something I didn't receive. 2. The waitress took my plate away. She asked if we were done with the food, we said NO. I'm still grabbing food and she just took it away. Mind you, there were still food on the plate and we even made eye contact! It was terrible! WHY ASK, IF YOU'RE TAKING IT AWAY ANYWAY?<br/>I really wanted to complain what happened to the management, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I wasn't going to let this ruined our family night.<br/>CONCLUSION: Never coming back.
Heiley
The food is really good, good quality and tasty. Pleasant environment and friendly staff. I've been to another korean bbq before, but this one is the best. Nice experience!

Ordered scotch fillet but came as a different cut (porterhouse maybe) and was too thin. The wait staff over cooked it.<br/><br/>Pork belly was unseasoned and the wait staff burnt it.<br/><br/>The dipping sauce for the meat was mostly tasteless.<br/><br/>The rice was overcooked and mushy.<br/><br/>One of the waiters was really rude, I asked for more water and she looked at me and said nothing. She came later and slammed a bottle of water on the table loudly startling my partner from behind. Probably mad because of her terrible dye job.<br/><br/>The seafood pancake came when we were finished with most of the food and it came raw in the middle because it was too thick. When it came back it was still mostly tasteless and unseasoned. Very mushy and not crispy. It didnt come with dipping sauce either.<br/><br/>The best dish we had there was the kimchi soup, but even that had slices of spam lol.<br/><br/>I've never had bad korean bbq until now. I've even eaten here in the past and it was good from what I remember. All around bad experience here in every way and for more than $90 too (no drinks). Go to one of the other korean places next door.<br/>

I’ve been to Korean BBQ twice in my life before going to SUT and Wine. The first time was a pretty crappy place in Box Hill, the second time was an amazing place in the city. SUT and wine was pretty good but not as good as the place in the city. I went here with my sister on Friday night. <br/><br/>We decided to get the Beef BBQ set which turned out to have the perfect amount of food for us two. I was worried that it would be too much but I guess me and my sister are two little piggies 🐷. We had plenty of help with cooking the meat 🥩 and it was cooked pretty well but I got the steak off earlier because I liked it medium rare. I loved the taste of the meat being cooked on a charcoal grill. There was also dipping sauces for the meat. We also had some side dishes which included the usual kimchi, pasta salad and something else. These side dishes were done well. There was also some scrambled egg which was nice and a seafood stew which was bland unfortunately. We ordered the mild seafood stew because I don’t think my sister would’ve liked the spicy one, just because something isn’t spicy it doesn’t mean it should be bland though. There were also rice cakes in chilli sauce, I liked the sauce but the rice cakes were a different texture than I was expecting, they were kind of chewy. I’m not sure what rice cakes are supposed to be like so I can’t really comment on these ones. There was also some rice to fill us up. <br/><br/>The people working here were pretty friendly and very helpful. I’d like to try other BBQ places in the area and see how they compare. I’d also like to come back here and try a casserole to share.

Been here on multiple occasions, never been disappointed about their service and quality of meat dishes offered in their bbq sets. The restaurant's atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, recommended for a casual date. Price of food is on the high end but is definitely worth for the quality and service.
Francis Law
No surprise.<br/>No many choice if you don’t want to eat BBQ. <br/>Fried chicken taste Okay but dry and over cooked.<br/>Chicken ginseng soup come with steam rice. Worth trying.
Vivian
The Korean bbq here is expensive for what it is as the food was not fresh and the flavours were meh . I did not feel like the meat was marinated enough nor was it tender.
Sam
If u feel like Korean BBQ , I will suggest this place to you . Foods are extremely fresh , portions are substantial.Only thing u can’t avoid is your clothes smells after the food, but all the bbq restaurant are the same ...so just hang your clothes at the balcony after back home .
Brian With The Y
Came here a while back for a friend's bday events, had a couple bbq sets and the kimchi pancake, loved the foods especially the pancake. Service was nice and friendly.
Shizuko
Ok. This is a Korean restaurant with friendly Korean staff. Have been this restaurant few times. BBQ banquet is not price friendly, but the environment is very remarkable in box hill area.
Leonagao121
A really good place for Korean BBQ and all the set menu are making you full. Taste is okay but sometimes the waitresses can not take care of everyone’s BBQ. If you just waiting for them to cook for you, maybe the meat will turn to charcoal
Zest_of_life
Popped in here a while back for a quick lunch. The bibimbap was fresh, tasty and full of colour. I'd love to come back and try the full korean bbq experience.
Hungry Ham
Came here with a hungry group of five. We ordered the pork set, seafood pancake and some ribs. I expected the portions to be small but it was almost too much for us to fit in. Cheap for the portions but the pork belly was really tough.
Carissa Lee
The only thing bad about this place is the BBQ... ironically this is a Korean bbq restaurant as well. The meat is nowhere near fresh, especially the pork belly, they cooked it for long enough, but it was still so tough and had a bad after taste. Their dishes (stew, japchae etc.) is average. But expected a lot more from this place, since its not cheap either..
CoCoNuT
We have been here 2 times, and wanted to experience the BBQ, the food is ok, we had the bibimbap, and the BBQ platter and had to ask for extra condiments like chilly and BBQ sauce, which they told us they had ran out on both occasions, we ended up cooking the meat on our own, our food almost burnt to charcoal, because the staff where very inconsistent and not really helpfull, we will not be coming back
Tzi-Eu
I was craving for ginseng chicken soup so I gave this place a try. I was fairly disappoint. The ginseng soup had no ginseng taste at all and the broth was quite bland. I also had to ask for salt and pepper which is normally provided for the chicken. The kimchi side dish was quite bitter, fairly bad for a Korean restaurant. Kimchi pancake was not spicy at all just salty and again had no sauce complement. I guess maybe this place is only good for BBQ. The portion was big though.
Hungry_mememel
Craved Korean BBQ, and since the other one was closed, I thought I might try this one. After eating here, I did not feel that my bbq craving was satisfied. The food was quite bland, doing sauces were also plain, salad didn't have enough dressing, or it was watered down. However, spacious dining area, nice setting, will fit prams, high chairs available.
Sue Jung
not authentic korean bbq i expected it to be. staff were very friendly but the food were overall below average. had to wait along time for the food to start coming out.
Christopher Lee
Service is good but the food quality has diminished quite a bit from when it first started; the table grill options are still good, but I recommend skipping the Korean hotspot "casseroles". Still quite an impressive list of wines on offer. Gets really busy and a booking is a must if you are looking for a table at dinner.
Justin
Big restaurant with a really nice ambience. The prices are pretty pricey for box hill, however it's expected for Korean BBQ. This is a pretty good place for a special occasion on the east side.
Notevenpicky
The beef set for $65, you get quite a lot of food, I left satisfied and super full! The meat was good quality and has a nice flavour, though I had to ask for some salt because the sauces were too sweet for my liking! The kimchi soup was ok, taste a little watered down and the egg was overcooked but the taste was okay. Rice cake was a little hard but sauce was yummy and salad was average, the side dishes was delicious except the kimchi it tasted mouldy and bitter. <br/><br/>I know it seems I wrote a lot of negatives but I'm just super picky. Overall I'm quite happy and I'll be back.

There are only that many places in the eastern suburbs that do Korean BBQ. Sut and Wine is one of the older decent kbbq restaurants in the eastern suburbs, and they re-did their menus so we went to check it out!<br/><br/>Bookings are essential, especially towards the weekend dinner times! The waitress mentioned it was fully booked when we were there on a Saturday night.<br/><br/>We ordered the Chef's Fresh Cut BBQ Set, kimchi soup and seafood pancake
Taeyeon's Hamster
Sut and Wine is a decent korean bbq place in Box Hill and offers a variety of BBQ sets. It is mainly packed during the evening compared to the quite lunch time sessions. The service is very good here and staff are very friendly. Like other Korean restaurants, each table also receives a variety of side dishes, such as kimchi, radish and tofu. The ventilation here is quite reasonable, but you will still leave the restaurant with a smokey bbq smell. The bbq meat and pork are marinated very well and portions are reasonable and decent. We've always had a pleasant dining experience here and would recommend to others interested in Korean bbq at Box Hill.
Lucia Wei
We ordered a set which is $99 for two. The beef is amazing and their staffs are really nice. I can't try their wine coz I have to drive. BTW they didn't serve take away box for free.
Cynthia Giang
Decent Korean BBQ with a good variety and selection of meats. The place has reasonable ventilation, which is always a plus with this type of food - nothing worse than a smokey restaurant and leaving smelling like your food. The staff here are very friendly and make the dining experience pleasant.
Lee Ann Low
The food here was amazing, the price is reasonable with the size they give. I ordered the tteokboki, sweet potato noodles and naengmyeon. <br/>Definitely order the naengmyeon, the soup and noodles are the best i've ever tasted. The portion of the sweet potato noodles is massive, enough for two people!
Ricky S
But and wine have been around for years and while it was the best charcoal Korean Bbq in the area it no longer holds that title. The atmosphere dark and ambient while the food is OK. Quality of meat is average and could do with attention to detail. For example.. don't serve frozen meat and grill it straight away. How hard is it to serve fresh steaks? I go back again sometime but for now I will stick to the newer and better ones in the area.
CCC
Food was delicious, everything was very clean and professional, enjoyed the novelty of the BBQ and had an all round enjoyable night. Serve was also really generous and all staff were lovely.
Shrek Oh
I don't think it is Korean the taste is of a cginna cook trying to cook Korean high taste of m.s.g <br/>Style of place is cheap. <br/>Staff r extremely rude and treat westerners like shit <br/>I would never recommend 2 anyone there are better Korean shops again Melbourne <br/>So review <br/>Food 2<br/>Staff 1 <br/>Service 1<br/>A hint what the meat temperature as we tested it and the tests showed on a boarder of saula any higher then you will be poisoning people .<br/>Good luck but I don't think u will last long <br/>Positive foods will never return <br/>
Bianca Gold
The BBQ packs are definitely the way to go, for us there was only one we all liked and even then had to swap out one item. <br/>Although we loved it, would have been great if there was a pork, chicken lamb combo.<br/>Experience was fantastic, Ambience was great and staff helpful. Would definitely come back
Amy Wong
Very accommodating. Booked for 4 people, but 1 additional person came last minute. The staff kindly moved us to a larger table. Food was excellent. Had BBQ and the meats were looked by the staff. One of the pork belly slices had burnt on the BBQ, so the staff member replaced it with no extra charge. 100% would reccomend.
Jeremy Young
Very tasty beef bulgogi bibimbap but at $18 also quite pricey compared to nearby Korean places. The decor is nice and it has a better atmosphere than many nearby restaurants, which is reflected in the higher prices.
Madamrouge86
Always love Yummy Korean BBQ, simple middle quality food with excellent services, good set out with warm lighting very stylish restaurant in box hill...flavour is good, price is middle range very affordable, totally would come back for more for an casual dinner 😋
Joanna Du
Lovely customer service, despite it being very busy a lot of the time. This is of course due to the great quality of the food. Highly recommend the bibimbap and soondubu/tofu and seafood stew! They are much better than the ones you find in the CBD.

Ordered the original fried chicken & beef japchae today. The fried chicken came with a really nice sweet chilli sauce, but the chicken was over-fried and on the dry side. Japchae was done well, a big portion and had good flavours, but the beef was bland. Service was attentive but $39 for the meal for two seemed a bit expensive compared to the other options in Box Hill.
Sophiroth
Lovely korean BBQ restaurant! It's nice to have somewhere that is a bit 'nicer' in the suburbs. They have a good range of meat and dishes as well as beverages. My only complaint it's that some nights they're very busy so the waiters can't constantly monitor their BBQ so things may end up slightly overcooked; Not sure if they allow customers to just manage the BBQ themselves.

A few people have said the food has been declining over the years, admittedly there is probably some truth to it however, overall we find the food quite good, not perfect, but fine, so there are no complaints on our front.<br/><br/>What brings it down is the lack of service,  I guess the phrase "common sense aint so common" applies here,<br/><br/>We called and asked if they were open on a sunday during Easter weekend, we got told it was closed, <br/>we arrived in box hill for a place to eat and walked past to find it well open.  Strike 1.  Mistakes happen, not a problem,<br/><br/>we get seated at a table fairly quickly the venue was 40% full,  we wait for a few mins.<br/>after almost 10 minutes with no menus, we try to grab the attention of floor staff, the waitress of our section seemed busy with another table, and another waitress and her start discussing our table which I thought was quite obvious what we needed, as they were looking at us, our hands waving and a bare table, in the end they both seem to walk off<br/><br/>We try and grab the attention again, and the waitress comes along and says "yes can I help you?"<br/>4 of us sitting on a completely empty table would have been common sense to me, but maybe she was new or inexperienced,<br/><br/>"menus please"<br/>the waitress comes back shortly with one menu!!!!<br/>"umm there are four of us" and she looks at us like it was a epiphany<br/>she goes off and doesnt come back,<br/><br/>once we order, we realise that there are only 2 water glasses on our table with the bottle of water given to us<br/><br/>we grab the attention of a waitress (cant remmeber if its the same one), and we ask for more water glasses,<br/><br/>on an empty table with 4 of us and 2 glasses, you guessed it! to the question of can we have some more water glasses....<br/><br/>"how many would you like?"<br/><br/>enough said, such a frustrating meal

Heard a lot about this Korean BBQ and finally get to try it out. Their marinated pork belly was to die for, so flavoursome, cooked to perfection (thank you to our lovely waitress who cook the meat for us). We also had the Spicy Seafood Stew which was lovely (though it is a bit too spicy for my liking). It wasn't as pricey as I thought it would be from others' word. Overall, it was good!

This place used to be better. Huge range of food and drinks, friendly service- but it has been all changed as gone worse. Food was messed, delayed and tastelss when it served. It seems there's no management around and staffs weren't helpful at all. Disappointed.

I heard very good comments from this Korean BBQ and came eagerly to try. However, my friend and I were disappointed at the BBQ meat they offered. To start with the menu lacked variety for a two person choice. And the marinated beef spare ribs are so tough that we can't take half of it. One of the mussels in the spicy tofu soup is not cooked! It just overrated by the word of mouth!

I like this place. Never been disappointed. <br/><br/>We enjoyed the hot pots, fried chickens and potato noodles here. Decent sizes and fair prices. Side dishes are plentiful and get refilled for free.<br/><br/>Service level is good. Please fix the toilet, it has been left unrepaired for months. What's up with that?<br/><br/>Will visit again.

Sut and Wine is a casual Korean BBQ restaurant located on the main road, just around the corner from the buzzing shopping and restaurant precinct that is Box Hill Central Shopping Centre. This was a completely random pick for me. My decision making process went a bit like this:. Feel like beef bulgogi and can’t be bothered travelling too far
Mariposa
Spacious and modern back drop presenting Korean style street food and some traditional mains. SUT and Wine are known for their do it yourself charcoal BBQ and fresh ingredients show casing east meets west flavors. <br/><br/>From the famous street food of rice cakes and crispy fried chicken (that comes with a good variety of sauce flavors) to traditional dishes such as bulgogi and a variety of soups- SUT caters for all taste buds. Fresh and quality ingredients. Friendly and attentive service. <br/>

Go to Korean BBQ place, never fail to deliver .<br/>Staff are attentive, food are not cheap but good quality , and they have good ventilation thing so you don't stink afterwards .

Ordered the fresh meat set. The set comes with quite a variety of complimentary dishes (scrambled egg, rice, stew) aside from the scotch fillet, brisket, pork belly and pork . We also ordered the additional seasonal mushroom which came with 3 assorted mushrooms. The scotch fillet was a bit too tough, chewy and dry. The sweet potato noodles are a bit soft but have an aromatic smell. Overall, the smoke is still strong even though the bbq has a suction on top. The meat is average but the complimentary dishes are quite filling. The staff do turn the meat for you regularly. It gets quite busy during dinner time so don't expect to be served in a timely matter and the price is alright.

I've taken a few people to Sut and they've all been pretty impressed with the food. Personally, I feel it's priced fairly for the quality of food that is served. The Korean BBQ is delicious and the selection of food is superb. I'd say order more though because the portion sizes are small. However, I'm happy to order more as that means I can try an array of different items. The kimchi stew is pretty good too, now that portion is huge!

I've been here over a dozen times and never had a bad experience yet. Meat is always fresh and quality is superb. Staff are polite and helpful when you ask for anything, some are a little shy but never rude. It's very expensive, but you get what you pay for, so I save this place for special occasions. I always book in advance and never have a problem waiting. 👍

I can't speak about the food but I can tell you this place has bad service. <br/><br/>I called to make a reservation at 7. We arrive and no one comes to greet us or take our name for 10+ minutes despite knowing we are there. Many people came into the restaurant and would walk out because the service was that bad. It's a Friday night - its prime time. Not to mention, several of their tables are empty so they shouldn't even be understaffed.

Wish I could give it a 10 cause my wife and I just had the most fantastic Korean BBQ in Melbourne. The food were excellent and they were all so fresh. I know a lot of people have considered this restaurant to be a bit expensive comparing to other Chinese cafe in box hill, but you get what you pay for. The service was top notch and the staff were very helpful. Another great part of their service is that they were fast and spot on with our order without wasting any of our time. My wife and I are always busy working and we have decided from now on that we will go sut and wine once a month to reward ourselves a good meal. Definitely a "must try" for anyone that is looking for one of the best Korean BBQ in Melbourne. However, it would be great if they had a website because it was a bit hard to make a booking in advance. I think they don't open until 5:30pm so for anyone wanting an early dinner they will need to be there early to get a table.

There are quite a few restaurants serving Korean BBQ in Box Hill.<br/>SUT sets itself apart with its premium pricing, and more premium cuts of meats.<br/>Overall a pretty decent experience, although you are able to get better Korean BBQ meals in the city or in the north melbourne area.

One word describes it all. Rubbish.<br/>First of all, the service and attitude of the staffs are unacceptably bad. They are unprofessional and rude. Ordered cold drinks they gave us hot ones instead and gave us a glass of ice and asked us to mix them ourselves...<br/><br/>Food safety issues: it's a tradition for Korean restaurants to cook the BBQ food for customers but they are continuously mixing raw and cooked food together and allowing the two to touch each other, exposing people to the risk of getting food poisoning.<br/><br/>They also allow food to be completely burnt before serving them to customers.<br/><br/>Unacceptable. Will not go there again

Both of us has a late dinner at this Korean Restaurant with such nice interiors which gave a modern look to the place.<br/><br/>It is best for an all-you-can-eat bbq which has a selection of different kinds of meat and vegetavles you can order to cook for yourselves in the middle of your table which is quite an exciting thing to do with a group of friends.<br/><br/>My partner had the sweet potato noodle dish while I had the salmon roe bibimbap with an entree of seafood croquette.<br/><br/>The noodle dish was really good and the flavours were really done welland quite consistent, texture wise was as expected and I feel that they rushed the dish as the noodles felt a little undercooked.<br/><br/>The bibimbap wasn't as expected, flavours weren't there and it was quite bland even though the rice was still cooking in that stone bowl. Could not taste a thing.<br/><br/>The croquettes were nicely made but it was processed seafood mix in the dish and tasted like a normal chicko roll with better pastry outside of it.<br/><br/>Overall, it was ok but we wouldn't go back despite the prices being a bit high for the quality of the food been served.<br/><br/>

I had dinner with my friends here for BBQ and stew. We will never return. We ordered pork belly for BBQ and our meat just got left by the wait staff after they threw the plates on the tables. We must cook the meat ourselves. Why do we go to restaurant, pay expensive for the meat and cook ourselves? We came before and the meat was cooked by the wait staff. There is no distinct flavours in the marination. For the stew, there was tofu in the soup and it was cold. I will never recommend anyone to come here anymore. The worst Korean restaurant we have been.

Great night, great food, the meals were so tasty and everything looked and tasted amazing. We really enjoyed our dining experience. The staff were polite and helpful given it was a full house..

One of the nicer Korean BBQ places I've been to. A very warm and welcoming setting. Although it is probably on the pricier end as its not buffet, the quality of meat makes it worth it. They also have a great selection of drinks if you want to try something new.

Update 24/02/17: A change in menu was the first sign that something was amiss - I suspect the ownership has changed, with a significant drop in quality of food since my last visit. The pork belly was stringy and we ended up leaving a number of side dishes half eaten. Disappointed as it used to be one of my favourites in the area.<br/><br/>Previous: Went without a reservation on a Tuesday night, expecting SUT to be half empty - instead, the place was packed so we had to patiently wait about 20-30 minutes for a table. Once seated, the service was reasonably prompt though could have been slightly improved had staff had time to cook our BBQ (they obviously couldn't, given how busy it was). We tried the 8-type pork belly and fried chicken - the pork belly was juicy and flavoursome, and we also appreciated having boneless chicken as compared to Gami's/Nene's etc. take on it. The side dishes provided were also appetizing. Whilst we thought we might have under ordered for our party of four, this was more than enough food and translated into a reasonable bill at the end of the night. All in all, a highly enjoyable meal.

Korean bbq tasty but it use to be wait staff comes and cook for you, our meat just got left and went over cooked. Hot and spicy soup came out tasteless.

Dine @ SUT and wine this evening. Staff were too busy to be friendly. <br/>The BBQ is serviced by the staff, the pork loin was over cooked and the beef was medium (which was what we wanted). <br/>We also ordered Bibimbab (veg and beef). They required sometime to be served, as the bowls need to be heated. Personally, it's worth the wait.

While my experience with Korean BBQ is limited,I must say that I was highly impressed and found thw whole dining experience to be great. We had the pork belly bbq set and the beef short rib set. Both were mouth wateringly delicious. Service was great too, they pretty much handled the whole cooking which was a relief. Can't wait to return.

Lovely food. Excellent service. Romantic atmosphere. We ordered the banquet for 2 and couldn't fit it all in. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend.
