I’ve been a fan of tina’s noodle for a while and usually eat in Swanston outlet. I gotta say I’d prefer the outlet in box hill more. The portion is huge, they put more meat, veggie, everything. Staffs are quite friendly and serves quickly. Defo coming back
Thought the hot pot here was pretty decent however it was quite expensive. Loved the variety of options available !
Came to this restaurant for dinner for first time. Not too sure what to order so I just ordered a non spicy and spicy beef noodles. Taste was surprisingly good and big portion. Love it and would like to come visit again. My only complain is that it's too crowded and cramp to walk in and out. Have to order and pay at the counter first and slow in serving food. But overall, it was good.
Soooo good! I tried the new rice noodle with pipi cooked in foil. Near 20 pipis inside and super delicious. Also ordered beef and chicken combination. Highly recommend all you come here! 😍
Ordered the seafood mix. Fair to say, the broth is very nicely done and the noodle was al dente and was very nicely done. A good amount of toppings in the dish itself. Although there is usually a line, the wait time is very quick. Price wise, it’s very good to what you pay. Will return to try out different flavours and topping.
Very lovely place and so popular place in this area. I love the tomato and beef with rice noodles, rich soup very tasty. Will go back one day.
The noodles are quite tasty and there are a few non-spicy options available for me too! At times it is very hard to get a seat in this place as it’s so packed. Great to eat here in the cooler weather.
If you ever feel a need to wipe out your taste buds then this is the place to visit.
Having been here a few times, I now know to eat the pieces of meat and noodles first before slurping down the super spicy soup.
At least you get to enjoy some of the textures before the overwhelming numbness takes over your entire mouth.
Had the spicy fish noodle soup today. The slices of fish were tender and tasty. The large serve of noodles was chewy and satisfying. The giant ladle that comes with the bowl of piping hot noodle soup can fit a giant's mouth.....love it!
Ahhhh Tina.....you've done it again!
One cool night we were wandering around Box Hill looking for a place to eat when we came across Tina’s Noodle Kitchen. It was bustling with people so we knew something good was brewing inside! Like most Asian restaurants in Box Hill, it is purposely built for you to get in, eat your meal, and get out. We were fine with that!
A relatively cheap and tasty restaurant for rice noodles. I would rate it 3.5 stars given it's lack of service. First thing you will notice is that you have to order everything yourself at the counter, no one will show you to a table, even the water is self-serve. At least they do bring the food to your table.
The food however are delicious. Unlike what I would usually expect from any restaurant carrying the Dainty Sichuan name, half of the dishes are not spicy, as I usually stay away from over the top spicy food. I had the rice noodle with pork stock soup, the serving size was big, and it was filled with goodies like quail egg, assorted mushrooms, tofu, fried chicken strips, ham and a massive leg bone. The first thing that hit me was how creamy and fresh the broth was, I could taste the pork stock working its magic.
Overall though this place has exceeded my expectations in terms of the food quality, and the portion size.

Our son had a friend's birthday party at Dark Zone. So me and the husband went to Tina's Noodle Kitchen for lunch. We ordered the Wontons in Spicy Soup, the spicy braised duck wings, the spicy pork ear threads and the spicy cold noodles. We're Indians and we thought we can handle all the spice you throw at us!! While the spice was a bit too much for us, the flavours were something we've never tasted before. It blew us away. The Wontons in Spicy soup is amazing and a must try.
We've going there again and taking the son who now wants to try it!!
Great place for a quick meal. They serve a huge bowl of soup with lots of ingredients. Usually have the spicy fish slice noodle or the combination chicken soup which are both yummy.
Menu: very diversed
Food: delicious, the price is reasonable for those big bowl of noodles. But be careful when choosing chili food because it's extremely hot and chili and quite hard to enjoy.
Atmosphere: clean and polite, spacious;)
Service is acceptable.
Tina’s noodle kitchen in BH. One of my favourite restaurants for spicy cold noodle. Also spicy lamb is a must try as well. Highly recommended for a quick bite
Always loved the noodle at Tina's Noodle Kitchen but I've never tried the one in box hill. The noodles here are slightly different from the ones in the city. Its lighter and less spicier. I guess i like the noddles from the cbd better as i like spicy food. But the food wasn't too bad overall. I still enjoyed it x
I ordered the spicy fish slices soup noodles. This was one of the spiciest things I have ever eaten in my life, I love spicy food but I wished this had a real warning. The soup was delicious and the fish slices were tender. The mushrooms were my favourite. My nose was sniffing, sweating, my tongue was numb.
Always wanted to try it but often discouraged because of the long queues. I can understand why. The noodles are tasty and full of meat & vegetables. The portion is quite big we have trouble finishing it.
The flavours the noodles have is amazing and authetic, other than the crappy service and the overly oiliness of the soup. This place hits the spot for me when its a cold day.
I had lunch here for the first time today. I was confused because I didn't know the system of order (first we have to order and to pay at the counter). However, noodles were nice and served quickly. I ordered beef and tomato noodles as I am not able to eat spicy food. The taste was above than my expectations and the amount was enough. My friend had spicy sliced fish noodles. She said it's nice too. I may try a bit more spicy one next time.
The slow braised beef was absolutely delicious. Exceptionally tender, the protein carried a bold beef aroma while also inheriting flavours from the spicy broth. With not so much as a hint of coarseness or dryness, the meat was plentiful and cooked to perfection.
It was overall a pleasant though unspectacular meal. The flavours were enjoyable, though the small-ish portion size failed to satisfy. The headline price may not be expensive, but this doesn’t necessarily translate to good value for money.
An extensive menu of noodle soups is the highlight and specialty here. The ordering method of lining up while looking at the menu book, ordering and then being seated is a bit different and not that great if you aren't familiar with the menu and need some time to decide.
I had the hot and spicy fish noodle soup which was delicious and came in a very generous portion size!
Great noodle. I have tried all of their soups but the chilli pickles soup is my favourite not to plain, and not to spicy. Will definitely come back
Very good noodle soup store. Everything is tasty. I had visited the city store on Swanton street and also Preston. But Box hill is the best.
Really nice noodle soups here. Have tried the veggie soup with mushrooms and soup with pickles and have enjoyed them all, as well as the cold veges in chilli oil. However, the pickled chilli has szechuan peppers in it which I do not quite enjoy, but you shouldn't feel the effects until you get closer to the bottom of the bowl. Reasonably priced and quick service.
I love rice noodle. It is filling you with real low calorie 😊. The soup and noodle in this place is so good . Big flavour really tasteful .
Located on Main Street of the Boxhill Central Shopping Center, with a bit of a rush hour of customers that formed around 7pm. We reached just in time to be seated comfortably immediately. But the order queue moved fast so it may not be an issue.
The restaurant's interior really popped sophistication as you look up and around, though on the ground, it was still a casual dining concept where orders were done over the counter. The high ceiling gave them plenty of space to create some beautiful features quite tastefully done.
As I leafed through the menu, it was mostly about noodles and most definitely all about the heat and kick coming from those red hot swimming chillis. But sometimes, restaurants with menus that's critically full on chillis, it all boils down to the company you're with and for me, that's being with my younger ones who would steer as far as possible from them. For the love of chillis, I still somehow had my way to suss out the menu to pick something for everyone to enjoy.
I'm guessing as I looked around, many patrons do come back regularly for their chili noodle cravings. It's a staple like pizza & pasta, quick and easy and many variations to choose from.
The food, filling and delicious, arrived very quickly, piping hot and staff were attentive and polite. I particularly liked the fiery starters and cool me down beverages.
Great location and venue here, the food won't disappoint. Can't wait for my next round here!

Good service, extensive menu and variety of flavours to suit your tastes! The Sichuan beef was tender, tasty, and spicy... the prawn ball was well prepared and tasty! Enjoy
Ooooooh I loved this gem of a noodle kitchen! Was introduced to this joint by a friend last weekend, and was overwhelmed by the various noodle options!!! ! Settled for a spicy beef combination noodle, with addition of pork balls and was blown clear off the water by the absolute deliciousness of broth, supple noodles, and well-cooked beef and well-made pork balls.
Simple yet effective, and hones in again the vitality of a well-made broth for Asian food! Love!! !
The serving sizes at this place are ridic! Far too big for one meal, but they let you do takeaway so you can make 2 meals of it! The flavours were great, heaps of spice in the broth. The meat was cooked perfectly too.
This is another Box Hill restaurant that I kept walking by and never tried until a friend told me it is good. I am not a fan of intestines, which seem to be the main selling point of their rice noodle dishes. So I ordered something that has fish balls. Very tasty, a bit too salty, and it is a very generous serve. One bowl is enough for two ladies. Their dishes seem to be a mixture of processed food (e.g. Fish balls, luncheon meat, seagood sticks) with fresh produce.
Seating isn't too comfortable as they sit people together to save space. Service is quick. Ideal for wintery nights when you just want hearty soupy food or to feed your family but don't want to cook.
UPDATE
Much better now ... the queue is still crazy sometimes.
PREVIOUS
An acquired taste .... just like Vegemite.
Authentic, genuine, hot, spicy Sichuan style soup base geared for locals.
On our visit, noodles were overcooked, soup was just right (not loosing my lips & throat), service was good, vibrant and buzzing atmosphere, be there before main meal times or be ready to queue ..... not the cheapest noodles at $14.80 but worth it.
It's sprawling all over Melbourne now.
the noodle was soooooo hot, but soooooooooo yummy, if you like hot spice food, this is a no-miss place to go for sure. Noodle is around $12-15 each, the snacks was great too. Worth to travel for 1/2hour to eat it. The place is very busy, very Chinese style
Been here once and it is a nice change compared to the regular Chinese dishes. The spicy chechuan style soop is really nice and something different, besides the spicey ness being ok, the soop is served extremely hot in temperature..
Would have given it 5 stars but my spicy noodle was still abit too hot to handle, even though I asked them to make it less Spicy. Their noodles are amazing everytime though! Especially the beef ones
While Tina's isn't a place you'd want to go to for great service or to be able to hear your dining companions easily, it is definitely a place that serves great noodles. The braised pork belly with pickles (with one chilli rating on the menu) is so delicious, and the pork belly is just melt in your mouth. There's always a line during peak lunch hours, and while turnover is quite quick, I suggest you go early if you don't want to wait. Serving size are quite generous as well but certainly doable if you're hungry!

With such a large Asian population living around Box Hill, you know you’ll have plenty of options for eating at the shopping hub that is Box Hill Central. The convenience of train and tram stops makes it easy to pop in for a feed, or refuel after a day of shopping.
Used to come here more often - food is still delicious however I feel generosity when it comes to portion size & ingredients is slowly starting to decline. Overall still good.
Good noodle soup. My wife favourited restaurant for lunch. Many options of broth and ingredients for customers to choose. We come here as casual basic.
My favourite noodle shop. Very tasting soup broth. I believe I can do it everyday for lunch if my hubby not complain. The staff is very friendly
Back in 2003 Tina Li would open a small restaurant on Smith Street. With barely any space, she attempted to bring authentic Sichuan cuisine to Melbourne. Looking forward 13 years, the strong and bold flavours of Sichuan cuisine, as well as the allure of the fragrances emanating through the doors have established Dainty Sichuan as a household name throughout Melbourne.
The success of Dainty Sichuan has culminated in the establishment of many branch restaurants, such as Dainty Sichuan Hot Pot, Dainty Noodle Express and Tina's Noodle Kitchen.
Tina's noodle is just great for a hungry stomach. Most of the noodle options on the menu are pretty worth it in terms of quality and quantity for the price you pay. An exception to this was the seafood noodle soup, which looked and costed like it contained proper seafood, but actually didn't. It was full of processed morsels like fish balls, seafood sticks and small prawns out of a packet. Bad choice from me. The noodle soup dishes which the rest of my family ordered were very nice though. Their broths were diverse but all were tasty with nice depth. The noodles in all dishes were of good texture and appropriate thickness. The ingredients were generous and of good quality too. I liked how they provide vinegar to add to the soup or just as a condiment. The drinks are comparatively decent value in terms of quantity, but not so much when it comes to quality. I wish I had discovered this place in preparation for the Melbourne winter, but I will surely remember it for next year.
Tina's Noodle Kitchen is definitely a place that gives extremely generous portions to their customers. Note: You order and pay upfront for your food. Easily located at Box Hill Central but the atmosphere can be very loud especially during lunch and dinner timings.
We ordered:
- The Veggies Skewers is good! (Black fungus, Tofu, Cauliflower, Potato, Quail eggs)
- Sichuan Cold Noodle (I totally recommend this menu! It was surprisingly good.)
- Hot & Spicy Wagyu Beef Slices with Extra Beancurd Skin and Tofu Slices (I have preference for spicy food and of course, you pay more when you add extra!)
Food - the soup flavours were just right. The portion size was so generous and service was pretty decent. I wish the waitress could be more attentive to my table. Our glasses went empty on a few occasions and we waited for too long for the waitress to refill them. On the whole, it's a good place to meet your friends for a satisfying dinner at an affordable price.
Situated towards the Maroondah highway side of Box Hill Shopping centre, Tina's noodle kitchen is a great choice for a quick meal while doing some shopping. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and although busy, we were able to grab a table in the sunshine. Service was prompt however you do need to line up to order and find your own table. The food was spicy and plentiful however a touch pricey compared to other Asian restaurants nearby.
Really tasty noodles and the portions are huge! I ordered the duck neck and preserved fish noodles, both were well seasoned. In my previous visit, I ordered the spicy beef noodles and the mushroom noodles. They were both tasty too. The noodles are very smooth and slippery so be careful if you're wearing a white top. It's hard to find seating so be prepared to share tables. The upside of that is, the wait for a table is relatively short.
Me and my husband are not spicy addicted, thus we ve ordered two noodle soup without chilly. It was delicious, although the seat is very limited and it is almost impossible to choose the seats. Despite the fact that it gave us dry after taste, I still believe that noodle addicted people should give it a try. :)
I alwayslike their chicken and mushroom noodle soup. Ate everything in the bowl and drank all the soups as its so tasty. Quite a lot to choose from and you must order at the counter before the staff allocate seats to you. I just wish the seatings have a bit more space.
Well presented, tasty Sichuan food with mediocre staff and atmosphere. Tina's Noodle Kitchen exceeded my expectations when I visited it for the first time in Box Hill, presenting their food much more elegantly and cleanly than other Chinese restaurants serving a similar cuisine. The Wagyu noodles were a standout and I will definitely be returning for them when time permits. The skewered dishes in chilli oil were tasty, but nothing special. I am keen to try out the drinks which look interesting on my next visit.
Cold nights, hot bowl of silky noodles in spicy soup. Tina's noodle kitchen was JAMPACKED. Suprisingly the wait wasnt long from back of the line to register. I got the braised duck and konyaku jelly (really good but oddly no food specific food group to fall under?) - friend got the braised beef. We also got the chicken spare parts cold bowl - not everyones cup of tea, included chicken feet, giblets, livers, quail eggs, all in a spicy sichua sauce. Probably the best from the three bowls we got. I found the thick layer of pungent chili oil a little bit sickening, and though #sichuan style is always small bones in bits of meat, the slight frustration of spitting shards of bones with as much grace as i can in public, was and never will be something ill enjoy. Plus side, the silky noodles were really good and held form in the piping hot soup. 3.5/5 - big servings helped this score. 🍜🍜🍜🍜
Tina's noodle in Box Hill always attracts a long queue most of the day. It's one of the chain store belongs to Dainty Sichuan, thus all the soup base came from the idea of hot pots. They mainly sell rice noodle in this store. Sometimes it's really hard to find a seat and you have to fight for a seat. However seat management has been well managed by its staff today! We ordered their special meat ball soup and pork stock soup with a bone in it. Rice noodle was very good and lots of ingredients in the soup. The soup was very rich but a bit oily. It gave you a dry after taste.
Honestly, I never make reviews but this place is the best noodle kitchen I've ever been too. The spicy beef and the fish with pickled chilli are my favourites, they come out very quickly in a massive bowl and with a massive spoon that fulfil all my needs of being a glutinous pig. The noodles are so silky and feel so good being slurped into your mouth and the broths are filled with so much flavour that arnt too over powering and with the perfect amount of spice (although I do have a high spice tolerance). Usually I daydream on a weekly basis about going back to get my fix

Quickest service ever- I felt like I had just placed my order, went for a table and bam! Food had arrived. I ordered the pork ball noodle soup. The noodles were silky soft and I enjoyed the soup, but the pork balls were just way too big- no one wants two huge chunks of plain meat. Overall, this place had average food, but very quick service. Not sure I'd come back. You can find places with better quality for a much cheaper price.
Very consistent, very fast service and very affordable. We love Tina's noodles as it serves such consistent food. The noodles will reach you in about 5 minutes after you order and the place is very popular. One of the most popular in box hill. They also have an incredible number of staff on, but its pretty cool because you can watch them make your noodles whilst you wait.
Recommend! We chose 2 vermicelli dishes (one of them spicy). Broth was flavoursome which is important for noodle dishes and portions were large! Also had spicy chicken (ko shui chicken) which were delicious. Service was quick as well.
Consistency here is superb. Delicious food and reasonable prices. I love the Hot and Spicy soup and also fish and pickled vegetables. Service can be inattentive however worth putting up with. Avoid rush times as the cue can be out the door.
Solid Sichuan food. The mouth-watering chicken, pig ear and offal skewer entrees are fantastic. I had the beer duck (so delicious) noodle soup with extra pickles. The broth had so much depth of flavor and noodles cooked nicely. Popular eatery. Order at counter food comes out quickly. Only issues is the food is heavily loaded with 'seasoning'.
Very authentic Sichuan style cusine. Very spicy and tasty! The noodle is very generous serving with meat, quail eggs, veggies. Definitely a place for spicy food lover! :)
Box Hill has some amazing Asian restaurants and this is one of the better ones. Very busy with the locals (which is a good sign). Service is poor but for the cheapish price it's what you would expect. Large meals which is good value.
Surprised about the average score. The rice noodle they made is actually quite good. I know you can't expect everyone likes it. The place is always busy. Must do thing in Box Hill. I have been there several of times
This place is always busy and can be a bit of a turnoff when we have kids in tow. However we finally made the effort to get here a bit earlier than usual in an attempt to beat the lunch time crowd. It was futile though, as the place was already pretty full before 12! We were luck to score a table in the outside area adjacent to the foodcourt (good thing if the kids want a bite of Subway etc! Oh kids, why?!?! They don't allow outside food in the restaurant itself) and the staff were happy to serve us there.
13.80 for a bowl of rice noodles isn't exactly cheap, but the size is quite large. and the ingredient quality is acceptable. I had the pork liver noodles and the family shared a combination. Both came with the chicken broth.
The pork liver was fresh and the pork balls were homemade and tasted nice too. It is always good to walk away from noodle soups without a lingering thirst from MSG (or whatever they want to mask it as these days). I am happy to report I wasn't thirsty after the meal, and for that, they get an extra 0.5 point from me.
I was left slightly disappointed with mouth watering spicy chicken. Garnished with the meaty bits on top, it was disappointing to find all the boney bits underneath. Maybe they should have just used the unconventional cut that some other Sichuan places use that result in meat and bone on every piece. Could be personal preference.
In hindsight, we will probably aim to sit on these tables outside Tina's. Then we can order both from them and also get food from the foodcourt. Hopefully the kids won't ask for Subway again.
Big servings of piping hot noodles for a great price of around $13! Delicious and definitely would have again :)) customer service was a bit lacking but overall a great experience at this restaurant in box hill
went there last week on Tue. I ordered tender Pork Liver in stock soup and Mouth-Watering Chicken (actual names!), my wife had Fish Slices with pickles in soup. Generous portions, prompt and friendly service, very reasonable prices. Didn't order drinks, though. Definitely recommended, nice place, not very crowded.
Very crowded but orders come up very fast. Noodle is good and portion is satisfying. Overall experience has been positive. Definitely can do better with a larger place :)
I've eaten here several times, and have yet to be disappointed.
The service is good, with food arriving within five to ten minutes of ordering. Portion sizes are large and friendly, and the food tates quite good. A word of warning should be taken with the spicier noodle dishes, especially for those who are used to milder foods.
The dishes are on the pricier side of Chinese noodle restaurants, but make up for that with quality and quantity. People seeking cheaper noodles in Box Hill can easily find them elsewhere.
My only issue would be with the sichuan style cold meat dishes - while they taste good they are priced too high, even for this restaurant.
