We ordered food from here via Deliveroo and it ended up coming incredibly fast ... much faster than the original time given which was perfect for us. We enjoyed a teriyaki salmon bento set which came with a generous salmon serve, oddly rice covered half with egg and half with pork
Mince, miso soup and a salad that was more dressing than actual content. Our tempura udon came with the liquid seperate which meant the tempura was still crispy. The prawn was huge and the vegetables well cooked. I liked the broth although it was on the mild side. Karaage Chicken was still nice and hot and came with kewpie and the tofu also tasty. Apart from the very non Japanese style rice with the bento set we would definitely order from here again. Fast service and hot arrival of food worked was really great.
Nice food and good service
The takeaway food was very nice, although we only got one piece of pork in our ramen, which we felt was a rip off considering the price
Got takeaway ramen due to covid.
I got the cha sui ramen. Very good bowl of ramen. The soup came separate which I thought was great to reduce sogginess if not eating right away.
The soup was the hero of the dish. Very nice depth of flavor. Plenty of condiments came standard. The egg was cooked perfectly and had absorbed the soy marinade well. The noodles were ok but unfortunately didnt absorb enough of the soup when eating.
Overall well done and satisfied.
We were really surprised by the food here. Both forms of ramen my partner and I got tasted great, with the ramen noodle having a great bite to it. A great ramen option in Box Hill.
Tasty ramen. Pictured is volcano ramen, pork gyoza, karaage and lychee watermelon drink. Reasonably priced with many options. Service was good for fast paced environment.

The ramen here definitely satisfies cravings, but is overall just above average. It tastes more like a “fast food” styled ramen rather than traditional Japanese ramen. Nevertheless, the flavours are there and the portions are pretty solid for the price.
Good service, delicious ramen and really tasty drinks/sides. Would highly recommend for the winter season as the ramen hits the spot!
We ordered a side of agadashi tofu, lamb salad, red dragon ramen and white hakata tonkotsu pork ramen.
Soooo good!
We were lucky to visit box hill for a Japanese adventure. The food here is cheap and tasty! Our favourite was their dry style ramen that would make a perfect summer dish. The mackerel side dish was also tasty and a great snack to share. Their salted egg prawns were cute and also another snack we shared.
Quite good value for the ramen here. The pork was cooked really nicely and the flavour of the broth was spot on 👌🏼
Would have been ever better if it didn’t leave me feeling super thirsty afterwards but still worth trying !
Great Ramen. Nice and rich broth. Pork and chicken both great.
Love the grilled fish with lemon
Good portions
good for take aways
Will come again. Great autumn/winter food.
Had the Red Dragon Ramen during my lunchtime visit here. Also had some extra noodles. Delicious and well prepared bowl of noodles. Service was nice and quick.
We came here for lunch on a Friday and the place was packed. Fortunately, we did not have to wait long to be seated. We ordered the teriyaki beef and tori karaage bentos to share. I thoroughly enjoyed the karaage which was crispy and seasoned nicely. The takoyaki was also delicious. The portions are quite large and prices are reasonable. The yuzu iced tea was also refreshing.
Great value for food and most items actually taste quite nice. Great drinks too, my lychee waterfall is made of fresh watermelon juice. Will come back to try ramen soup in cooler weather.
This place opened in mid-2017 and I was impressed with the quality of the ramen. The noodles are cooked perfectly and set inside a deep rich broth which is balanced well without being too oily or salty. The serving size is quite generous and won't leave you hungry.
I tried the Bossam on my first visit, but didn't notice recently when their menu had changed. It tasted authentic and I enjoyed the portion size with another friend.
Japanese style restaurant serving ramen and rice dishes along with some Japanese tapas dishes. This place perfect for quick bite or drinking with mates. The spicy ramen is actually spicy so tread carefully there. The dry ramen is chewy and refreshing. They also have spicy pickled vegetables for free on each table.
had the chicken karage ramen ($13.5) was quite good. also had the tayoki (octopus balls 6pcs $5.5) they were good! staff were quite friendly but weren’t thrilled that we were sharing.
Had the classic pork ramen and 10-pcs sashimi bowl. The ramen was quite good with nice soup and some slightly browned pork. Price was reasonable. A nice place to eat after some shopping at Box Hill Central.
Bought Groupon voucher for the Shabu Shabu for 2 ppl set. Very generous portion in size, soup were great favor. Fast and attentive service. However it only comes with 5 pieces of slice beef, but it was great quality, it was so delicious that we decide to order more beef.
This set is only available to purchase in Groupon, not available in their menu. And it seems they are not doing this any more, what a shame. Hope they will put this Shabu Shabu set in their menu.

Great experience at Ichi Ramen yesterday. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant, especially sitting near the window on a nice day. We ordered one serving of traditional ramen with pork & extra noodles, dry ramen with fried chicken & pork gyoza. The soup ramen was very flavoursome, with noodles that had a nice bite and pork that had an almost smokey flavour to it. The extra noodles on the side was a generous serving which allowed my parter to have a more filling meal. It was one of the better ramens I’ve had in Melbourne for sure. The dry ramen had a sauce that had an almost creamy mouthfeel but had a soy-sauce based taste which I really liked. The gyoza was delicious, I really liked how they were more authentic by having the fried shell over all the gyoza. I also really liked the dipping sauce as it wasn’t too gingery. The price for all three dishes was very reasonable.
The ramen at this place is great! Nice broth, nice noodles. The staff are inviting and the interior decor is nice. The pricing is quite decent. I ordered the fried calamari tentacles as an entree. It was super crispy but a bit too chewy for my liking.
The food is great but it is lacking a bit of authenticity when compared to other Japanese restaurants.
never disappointed when i eat here, it even satisfies my gweilo dad (lol), service is good prices are good and food is amazing, would highly recommend to everyone
Best ramen in Boxhill, the orders are quick and simple. The food is delicious, the price is unbeatble for food of such quality, so satisfied with the dinning exerience, it will be my favorate ramen resturant from today.
A sit down, busy diner serving wonderful ramen. Black Garlic Tonkotsu came with thin, firm noodles, an aromatic black garlic tare with smooth tonkotsu broth, nori, half egg, bamboo shoots, shallots, sprouts and fungus. A slice of grilled pork was tender with a caramelised flavour. Generous portions, well priced and polite staff. Very good.
2nd time here and will definitely come again. They have really generous portions and service was fast despite having many customers.
The ox tongue fried rice had a very tender meat which mixed well with the rice. The bento boxes has more than enough food for one person with so much variety. The tempura sauced dry ramen was very nice and had the sauce covering the whole noodle.
We've gone here a couple of times and the flavours are always amazing. The mixed seafood platter, the unagi and the Ox tongue fried rice are what we've had. Always fresh and amazing flavours. One of our regular places to eat in Boxhill.
Great tasting ramen! Noodles were the perfect texture and goes down great, soup has the right balance and wasn’t overly salty and the marinated pork belly was soft and tender!

The staff was very friendly and the food is really good. The ichi special bento had lots of variety and more than enough food for one person. They had very nice tempura and gyoza.
Have been here since it was a tempura joint. Now it's turned into a izakaya bar style ramen joint. Loving the new feel and the ramen is the best ramen in box hill.
One of a kind Ramen and Bento!! Definitely give it a try because the red dragon and their chicken karage are killers for tastebuds. Although the karage does come with bone (chicken ribs)

its winter day, so we decide to eat ramen. A very good place, the atmosphere and songs are good. me and my friends enjoy it, highly recommend !! ~
If you love ramen, check this place out!!
Awesome ramen, friendly staff, incredibly quick service, and a trendy atmosphere.
I recommend the pork base broths, but I’m keen to work my way through the menu.
Not much more to say — I’ll keep coming back!
Great food. Convenient loacation. Good value for money. Will return again and try other things on their menu. I highly recommend this place for those who crave for Japanese food nearby Box Hill. 🖒
This place is located in Box Hill central. Friendly staffs and delicious food :) We had Miso and Hakata ramen & Unagi Chahan. Yummy yummy 😆 will visit this place again definitely !
Staff was friendly and polite as well as patient, food was absolutely amazing and the pork was very nice. Staff checked regularly to ensure everything was fine. Would definitely come back again!
Pretty good service. Bento Box was pretty good, great variety and karage was well cooked. However, the pieces could have been boneless. Overall good experience.
Ichi Ramen was a good place to eat. The ramen was good, quick and easy. Highly recommended. Will probably be back as well, have been twice already.
Very great, the staff were kind and they helped me order. The food looks great on the menu as well. The food smelt great and tasted very nice.
Reasonable ramen, not too pricey. Food came out quick. Service is friendly. The soup was a solid broth full of spice, kick, wonder, richness, all in one.
Food: A large selection of food rather than ramen, such as bento and yakisoba. We ordered the yakisoba, ichi tempura selection and okonomiyaki, as far as I remember. The seafood yakisoba tasted delicious, would recommend and the ichi tempura selection was quite good. The okonomiyaki however came out and tasted quite weird.
Service: Waiters were really friendly and nice and offered opinions. The food came quite quickly.
Atmosphere and decor: Not many people but atmosphere is great and is nicely decorated
Overall:
Probably the best Japanese food around Box Hill, would recommend coming here.
First time visiting and I was so pleasantly surprised on Black Garlic ramen I ordered. Not too overpowering. Never was a fan of Okonomiyaki but here it was crusty yet soft inside which has converted me ! I love ramen and I ate on daily basis when I was visiting Japan. Here the ramen remind me of Japan. Now, I know where to go when I have my craving and in winter it is going to be frequent!
Great food great service. Ordered spicy tori karaage, gesso karaage and tiger prawn. Both were amazing in my opinion. Ichi Ramen best choice for me with acceptable price.
Very fast service, great delicious food. There is sometimes a queue at lunch time. I waited for around 5 minutes. But it is definitely worth the wait because the ramen is delicious. There is a wide variety of ramen to choose from.
We had always wanted to try this restaurant. It was a little busy but the wait was not long. Ordered the spicy red dragon ramen. It was delicious (maybe a little spicy for me though). The lamb salad was also just as good. Also enjoyed the Japanese regae music 🕺🕺
Friendly staffs, nice food! :) resonable price as well. Had red dragon spicy and hakata ramen + extra unagi rice bowl. If you like spicy food, you may try red dragon super spicy.
Heard of this place and wanted to try for a while now. Nice Japanese Ramen meal, range of options including for vegetarians. Reasonably priced, will come back again!
Ordered the tori shoyu and was reasonably priced and flavorsome. Food come out quickly and good seating. Service was fine and store is kept fairly clean.
Came here for dinner with my family. We ordered white ramen and it tastes delicious. We didn't expect this kind of standard of ramen in Boxhill. Staff are well mannered. Highly recommended.
Great food, friendly service and highly recommended. Great variety of traditional Japanese food. Good portion sizes. Recommended to come early because it is busy.
Came here for valentines day lunch with the fam 😊 ordered the black tora ramen, tori karaage and a mackerel bento. The food was pretty good, service was adequate, price was also very reasonable! I'd definitely come by again 👍
Service was friendly & quick. Black Tora (garlic) noodle soup was ok, soup has a slight bitter taste. Yakisoba noodles was delicious, worth every pennies, quite a lot of seafood.
The staffs were really nice and the food taste good too. The drink was really good as well. Waiting time wasn’t long and the prices is acceptable.
Went out for dinner with some friends tonight to Ichi Ramen in box hill. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was quick and the place had a very casual, fun vibe to it. They have beers on tap and a great selection of teas and sake.
I got the miso chicken ramen, which was quite tasty. We also got some edamame, kaarage chicken wings and pork gyoza to share. All of the food was delicious and the portions were generous. I'll definitely be coming back again.
Servings were generous and service fast and considerate. Good place to satisfy ramen cravings although if you can't handle chilli well perhaps stay away from chilli ramen such as Phoenix chicken ramen
I went here with my sister for dinner tonight. I was a bit hesitant to try this place because of the score on Zomato but it wasn’t all bad. When we walked in the staff said a friendly Japanese greeting which was kinda embarrassing hahaha. I also really like the look of this place with the lanterns.
I didn’t feel like ramen so I ordered a bento 🍱. The special bento was only $2 more so I got sucked into buying that. OMG when they bought it to the table I was shocked with how big it was, there was no way I could eat the whole thing. You could actually share the special bento with someone. I ordered the tonkatsu, the pork was a little oily but it was tender and the sauce on it was nice. The rest of the bento was hit and miss. I really liked the tempura pumpkin and prawn but the salad had way too much dressing and the spring role was not good, neither was the lotus root. I would’ve like a bit more variety with the sashimi.
My sister ordered the seafood ramen. The seafood looked pretty good. I tried the broth and it tasted a bit bland, the noodles also looked like 2 minute noodles but my sister liked it. The thing I enjoyed the most at Ichi Ramen was the saki cocktails. How can you go wrong with cocktails 🍹 for less than $10??? I ordered the yuzu mojito which had sake and gin. It was a bit bitter, maybe that was the yuzu but I still enjoyed it. My second drink was an ume sake drink with gin and salted ume. I tried to eat one of the salted ume and I spat it out hahaha.
The people working here were pretty friendly. I don’t think I’ll come back here for the ramen but I’ll definitely come back for the drinks. I would have preferred reusable cups for the water and not use a disposable spoon for the miso, I think using disposable crockery and cutlery for eating in is bad for the environment. They also charge extra for EFTPOS. I’ll still come back for the drinks though hahaha.
Recommended by a Japanese friend who believed it is one of the best ramen place in town. The food was not bad, ramen was good, tempura was nice, drinks were gorgeous.
Give this restaurant a break! That Tan Tan Men ramen is by far the best I've had. My taste buds might not be Japanese but the broth and Egg Yolk combo is so good...
Edit: lowered rating just because Tan Tan men with broth was discontinued. Its still available as dry option tho.
Rating this purely on their drinks menu. The matcha drink is delicious. Too much ice though. Flavour is strong with scoop of ice cream. So nice
AMAZING !!!!!!!!! Propper Tokyo style Ramen 🍲 Delicious and very friendly staff . Closest Ramen for me in the eastern suburbs . Lovely thick pork broth and perfect onsen egg !!!!!!!
Great ramen and much cheaper than other chains like Hakata Gensuke. Would definitely recommend!!
Had meal here several times and the food was always great!! Desserts are real bombs!!

I also don't understand the low ratings for Ichi Ramen. Ichi Ramen is EASILY the best ramen you'll eat outside of Japan. Try the new Meat Lovers ramen.
Ichi ramen. So similar to that famous one. Taste is so so not that great but ok. A nice place to sit down for a quick bite. Next time can try something else.
Quite surprised by the poor ratings here as I’ve consistently had delicious food from Ichi Ramen. Favourites are the charcoal tonkotsu ramen and bento boxes. Servings are quite generous and the food is very flavoursome. The quality of the meat is also very good for the price ($12-$14 for ramen and $15-$18 for bento boxes).
