Review Kim Sing - Box Hill

Adam G
Good Malaysian food and affordable price but just a bit too salty at this Asian restaurant near the entrance to Box Hill Central. It's amazingly clean. The tables are pretty large and clean, and have comfortable chairs. The staff is very friendly and provides a good service.

Guess what I found today, still the best, the fastest & cheapest Asian in Melbourne Kim Sing restaurant in Box hill, the cheap Asian place from port phillip arcade (known by some as cheap chinese, even though its really malaysian food) has relocated to box hill right on the corner of the mall entrance to box hill central ( see pic below). Food is still cheap, the dim sims have even improved and is still the fastest asian in town! And even better its much closer to where I live.

'Kim' truly makes me 'Sing'!!!! If you love Malaysian food or good prices (and let's be honest, it would be weird if you didn't) then you need to get there asap. Never had a bad time here. So many good memories... Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. Point is, it's a great place and worthy of your night out with the fellas or the ladies. Or the fam. Or by yourself... no judgement here! Ask for the 'Daniel' special - won't really do anything, I just like to feel special :) all jokes aside, get here ASAP!!

Change name number? The former Madam Kwan and former something else, nothing much change inside, so I was hoping for a better Malaysian cuisine ... I was wrong, cheap $9 Char Kwee Tiaw tasted odd, pungent smell, ain't tasty, Nasi Lemak chicken was bland, small and ain't tasty either. Their only saving grace was the Shrimp Fried Rice. C'mon guys, lift up your game, the best venue amongst the many Malaysian restaurants in the vicinity, surely you can do better with your second shop.

Food wasn't very good, portions are more rice then toppings. However if you are on a tight budget it may be worth a visit. Not my type of malaysian food experience.

Ordered salt and pepper pork ribs and it tasted burnt. Probably because the oil that they used to fry it was burnt ( used for too long). In general, the food isn't great eventhough it's cheap

Love this place. Brilliant food at an extremely cheap price and the food comes out to you quicker than at a fast food restaurant. Great stop off if you are in the city of Melbourne.

Large meals for the price. A bit too salty but you get what you pay for I guess. Fast services and nice atmosphere.
