Amazing sushi train place - everything tasted so delicious, the service was very prompt and love that they're doing lots to ensure Covid safety (check in, hand sanitiser, screens to separate tables)!! I was especially impressed by the quality of hot food ordered via the iPad - I could taste that it was made freshly to order, it came steaming hot! The udon was absolutely divine and worth a try. Will definitely be back again 😋🍣

Got the New year limited edition platter. The seafood was very fresh. No hidden mayo or sweet glaze on any of the sushi. So I can really appreciate the freshness of the seafood. Would totally order this again.

First time going to a sushi train before and I am very satisfied. The waitress was very helpful since I didn’t understand how it worked at first. And, the food was delicious.

Please don’t take the covers off all the sushi plates going around the train just because closing up time is coming. Maybe after the customers are gone? I completely did not eat any more dishes off the train after that. It’s unhygienic and where’s the consideration for the paying customers? Otherwise the food was great, fresh & staff lovely 👍

Used to be really good - good food and service. Gone downhill the past few months. Staff clearly did not want to be at work - sushi pieces were packed horribly. Aburi pieces are tossed into takeaway container instead of placed properly - see photo. Staff placed the sushi upside down into the container when she was packing the sushi

Yummy food overall, but stay away from the uni. Liked the teriyaki salmon the most, good value - hot food on the train. Lots of food and variety on the train all the time.

Really decent Japanese cuisine for a very good price. If you’re up for a quick and easy bite, then this is the place for you.<br/>Also great if you want to grab a bento box for take away to have on the train.<br/>

Discovered this place under a month ago and have been back 4-5 times since! The seafood tastes really fresh and the staff is attentive and friendly. Price is amazing for the quality of food you receive! Highly recommend.

Great food and attentive staff! Sushi is fresh and hot foods are cooked to order. Have also been to the Chadstone store and this one was much better with space and less busy during lunch time!

Convenient location right next to the station. The fish was fresh, and service was good. Some of the nigiri could come with less mayo though, to let the fish shine through. Good selection of desserts also.

One of the best sushi train places around. I always get the handrolls when I come here as they are such good value. There are lots of variety to choose from, from fresh fish to hot food. I come here almost on a weekly basis. Great atmosphere and place to have a casual lunch!

We dropped by Sushi Jiro for a quick meal. The sushi quality here is pretty good - better than a lot of other sushi trains in Melbourne. I love the modern-ness and beautiful presentation. They have a large variety of different dishes - cold, hot, noodles and soups. I would recommend you order for. The tablet because the chef makes it fresh for you.

Average experience. Fish was okay, they are fresh but taste quite bland. I quite enjoy the king fish, everything else was meh. The order system broke down right after we made the first order, staff tries their best to accomodate but they don’t have paper menu and we only want to order fresh. We ended up grabbing 1-2 filling random plates from the belt and left.<br/>Verdict: kinda okay if you want to go cheap, but I think it’s worth it to pay better price for better sushi.

The go to place for sushi train! Reasonably priced with great selection of sushi. Was hoping to find aburi mentaiko salmon sushi on the menu but to no avail, would be great if this is added to the menu! Fish shoulder was the star of the night. Will be back for sure!

The restaurant is small, you will need to sit very close to others. The food is fresh, especially scollops and salmon. There are some dishes outstanding, but some below average. I have been there several times, never disappointed.

Great selection of yummy food, even has desserts on the train too. A little squashy for venue, but enjoyable anyway and you can order from a touch screen on your table. Orders arrive efficiently too!

The service here is great! I literally put down a plastic lid from a sushi and they picked it up right away. Also, I ordered drinks, and they literally took 2 minutes! 2 minutes! I've been to places were it took like 10 to 20 minutes.<br/><br/>Not only is the service amazing, but the food is INCREDIBLE! They range from Chicken Karaage to Yuzu Sorbet. It is amazing. First time celebrating our anniversary with my girlfriend and we were quite pleased with the friendly staff's services as well as the overall quality and taste of the food. Would recommend to outsiders and might just come back again! Keep it up guys!

My favourite sushi spot in Box Hill. I love their vegetarian options. My favourite is the vegetarian pack that sells for $7.80. <br/><br/>I enjoy the purple rice cucumber and avocado, and also the tempura veggie sushi hand roll. I don’t usually buy lunch here but come back later as there are often discounts and $5.00 set of different sushi. <br/><br/>The service is not the best as the staff rushes you to order. The sushi is not always the best quality as there were numerous of time where my hand roll fell apart.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The sushi was legit and reasonably priced, the staff was friendly and the environment was lovely!

This place has always been my favourite restaurant, Boxhill branch. I love to eat sashimi and Japanese food and this is the only restaurant here. They serves fresh sashimi and many varieties of sushi to choose from. My favourite is the grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce which is not often on displayed. Relax and friendly atmosphere to enjoy the food.

The glen waverley branch is 100 times better. <br/>The sushi available for takeaway looks like it has been wrapped by a child and looks and tastes as bad as they look. The seafood looked brown and not vibrant with freshness.<br/>The seaweed on my chicken roll was stretchy and stale and did not even cover the rice.

Felt like sushi train for lunch the other day so popped in just after 1pm to find the place packed and a long long queue. Decided to go away for half an hour and by then there was no wait. Greeted and sat down at an end we collected a number of tasty hot and cold dishes. The raw tuna was super fresh as was the salmon and we really loved the tenderness of the fried chicken. Perhaps the jet lag is why, despite some devastating reviews, I actually enjoyed the flavours on offer today. While not traditional Japanese it pleases me to see fusion working well. I enjoyed my unagi nigiri and the sushi roll I ate had a delicious smokey spice to it. Miso was standard but good and the only thing I was disappointed by was my dessert choice. $3.80 a plate for most except the premium which were $5.80 (not included in the weekday lunch special). No hot food was on the train but could be ordered by the attentive serving staff. Greetings and farewells as you would expect.

Best sushi jiro, we have tried all outlet in Melbourne, but the one in box hill definitely best in terms of variety as well as the flavour, will go here every time.

I usually pop by Sushi Jiro after work on the way home when I’m really craving some sushi train near me. Each standard plate is $3.80! I usually order from their iPad menu so that it gets made on the spot, especially for their aburi (torched) sushi so it’s still warm when it gets to you!

The sushi at the sushi train is really fresh and delicious. I also really like the sauces they pair the sushi with as everything goes together really nicely. <br/>I just wish sushi train was a bit cheaper though 😓😓 $3.8 for 2 small pieces of sushi can get quite expensive

Sushi Jiro is a very good place if you are in a rush, the food comes out quickly, the staff are nice and efficient. The sushi is quite flavourful and have a variety of dishes but the tempura scallops were my favourite but some times the food is stuffed or is very messy but I understand that they have a lot of customers and don’t have time to make everything perfect. A good place to eat or take away recommended to everyone

Really great place to take a quick bite! We were there Tuesday arvo around 6pm and the place was full. Very tasty sushis and the best one soft shell crab taco was amazing! So crispy outside and hot and delicious inside. Will definitely come back for our next visit!

Sushi Jiro, Box Hill was a delight. The atmosphere was cosy and down to earth, and the staff were quite attentive.<br/><br/>The selection seemed fairly diverse, and most plates were very reasonably priced with clear indications of the variants in prices. The salmon belly was served well at room temperature, and did not have a frozen texture to it (which is a huge plus). The overall experience was great :)

An awesome selection of freshly made sushi, nigiri, handrolls and yakitori. The desserts are lovely too. My kids totally love the kaiten experience! Will be back.
