Review Mcdonald's - Box Hill

Ian Woodruff
AS GOOD (OR BAD) AS ALL OTHER MACCA OUTLETS This one is tucked away at the rear of the Box Hill Central food court (next to train station entry). Lots of other (healthier) options available in the food court and nearby but this is fairly quick. A few seats if dining in.

Took them more than 15 minutes to prepare a simple cheeseburger. Didn't even get it in the end cause I would've missed my bus. Needs more staff on hand cause they were swamped and barely had things under control.

I have never been more disgusted, some staff at this McDonald’s are absolutely Horrible. I come to this McDonald’s almost everyday and I been served by Amilia a couple of times, she makes me feel unwelcome she Always seems unhappy when when I get served. She makes me never want to go back here again. Today I order a soft serve and said “sorry, do you know how long it will take as I have a train soon” she then she said “we are busy” I then said I’d wait and when I got my soft serve she proceeded to yell at me and other customers behind me to not order if we have a train coming” we don’t come to MacDonalds to get harassed by staff thinking we are in the wrong. The rest of the staff are quite nice but she has a whole new level of nastiness.

The place is clean and generally well organised. Staff sound happy to help, but don't always look happy to help/at all. My most recent visit can sum up all pros and cons. I ordered a meal with an ice-cream (McFlurry) for dessert. The icecream was put together before the rest of the meal was ready (some ten minutes later, it was busy) so by the time I had gotten to it, it had been sitting in a hot place for 20 mins and had melted badly. Staff happily replaced the icecream for me without a complaint, and accepted my advice about timing when to make icecream orders with grace. Hopefully it is followed through. Ideal location, a bit hard to tell who is in line and who is waiting for food, however the limited space makes it difficult. Still decent and worth stopping in if some Macca's takes your fancy.

This McDonald's is the worst McDonald's I've ever seen. The employees are not working well at all. I bought an ice cream and waited 10 minutes and they still didn't give it to me. The attitude of the staff is also a big problem. strongly not recommended

Bought a hot fudge sundae and a cheeseburger. Very disappointed. The sundae was left to melt for 10mins before the burger was ready. Then I had a cup of melted icecream given to me with a very insincere "sorry about the wait." I mean sure it's maccas, no one is expecting gourmet quality. But selling melted ice cream is taking it too far. Why not wait until the burger is done to make a decent sundae fresh? Does no one value the utter basics of offering a bare benchmark of proper service or product quality? How can you not give the customer something that is no longer an icecream? When you expect the customer to part with money?

Missing item from orders over various occasions - - the staff there needs to actually care about their work!! Ordered there many times through Uber eats and at least a third of the orders that comes through would end up with something missing in there. Experiences this issue at literally no other McDonald's restaurant. This single establishment is dragging down the brand reputation of the entire McDonald's Australia.

Ordered a chai latte and a hash brown.
The chai latte was hot, and had a good amount of spice without being too sweet.
The hash brown was crispy and golden

This maccas is my sneaky guilty sin. I’ve found that if you order using the app when you get off the train it recognises you are in store meaning your burger is prepared while working your way off the platform. They have recently brought back the Grand Big Mac for a limited time so was happy to be able to order one of those for dinner when my wife was out at her second Christmas party. Calories indicate at least 60% bigger than the standard Mac. It was certainly as tasty and saucy. It’s wider size made it harder to eat meaning it was definitely a two hand burger and there was more lettuce spill that the regular. Certainly one to try for the fans of the Big Mac while it’s available.

I’ve had 2 bad experiences here. One was 15 years ago, when my Fanta soft drink had coffee grounds in it, god knows how they even got in their ?! But it was disgusting ! And the other day I had a Big Mac meal here with hardly any special sauce on it, a squashed and dry bun with cold chips. I definitely do not recommend. I guess it’s my own fault to eat here anyways.

Since this is the only place to eat Halal McDonald's, I didn't mind driving 10km each way to get some food.
I ordered 2 burgers without bacon and both were packed with bacon.
Drove back again to get a refund and the manager's attitude was as if I made a sin by pointing out their mistake.
McDonald's management don't care I suppose about the quality of the staff working there. Otherwise their review page wouldn't have so many 1 rating reviews and increase every day.
Piece of advice - never drive through this place and always check your food before you leave. Mistakes can happen but they tend to make too much and they don't care about the hassle customers have to go through for packing wrong orders.

It is located in a very convenient location. You can also order food from a different window after entering the ticket zone - cool option if you are in a rush to catch your train. Friendly staff too.

Cornering the market ... what an ingenuity......

You've got to give it to Maccas for this ingenuity, an outlet/glass window to serve commuters on their way down to the Platform, no other vendors can do this.

Not recommending their food, frozen Coke is okay though :-)

Box Hill Maccas' has got to be the worst McDonald's I have ever been too. As an experienced McDonald's attendee (at least once a week). The service is awful. Loaded fries weren't loaded also soggy. Forgot to give frozen coke and when I went up to tell they treated me with utter disrespect. You suck Box Hill Maccas'.

Great food, great service, never disappoints. Always greeted by the touch machines out the front that are always working. A genuine pleasure although I get a bit cranky when I have to eat my sausage mcmuffin and all the Herald Suns are missing. Maybe get some more copies of the Herald Sun and I'll be McHappy!

Surprisingly never had a bad experience at this McDonald's. Because it always consistently busy, the food is hot and fresh.

Bonus points for the crazy good location, and the little window inside the station for train users.

Box Hill Mcdonalds very ordinary.. The fries were cold and soggy and they tried to get me to order through a computer. Someone is making a killing at this poor excuse for a Mcdonalds. In the old days the food was ten times better and so was the service.
