Review Hot Star Large Fried Chicken - Box Hill

One of the best chicken pieces I have ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and succulent and juicy on the inside. The list of flavours you can add to your chicken is impressive however I was disappointed they were out if cheese flavour as I really wanted to try that. That's the only reason they have lost a star. Businesses should ensure they have enough stock so customers aren't disappointed. Overall a great experience and I will be returning to try and get my hands on the cheese flavour.

I used to love the hot star large chicken at this place, but not anymore. The quality has decreased significantly recently. The chicken was undercooked, the batter layer outside was not well cooked and not crispy. It would better if the cook let the chicken sitting in in the fryer a bit longer to make it cooked better. Hope to see some improvement in the quality of the large chicken next time, or I would not come back to this restaurant again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Tried once, never will come back. Firstly, ordered a family pack, but there’re 2 things missing, didn’t give me wings AND chicken popcorn… unbelievable! Secondly, their fried chicken is only 1/3 chicken meat, 1/3 dough, and 1/3, guess what, BONES!!! Thirdly, meat is not at all tender nor juicy, crumbs are not at all crispy nor flavorful… the whole thing tastes like boiled shoe soles. AVOID THIS SHOP! Gives one star only because I can’t give less.

After reading the google reviews of this place, I see that it's not just me that have had a poor customer experience with the Box Hill branch. It's time for me to write an overdue review. I've eaten at numerous different Hot Stars around Melbourne (and even the original one in Taiwan!) I enjoy eating hotstar chicken + the gongcha bubble tea combo, however this store's poor customer service has done a disservice to the global franchise. When I ordered my usual half chicken salt/cajun the staff seemed very frustrated taking my order, furthermore my bubble tea order was completely forgotten about and after waiting for 20 minutes, I had to ask the staff what happened to my order. The store wasn't even busy at the time and they completely forgot about my bubble tea. When they finally finished the order, the staff didn't even bother to apologise and just starting laughing instead. Well, apologies, I'm never going back to this store again.

Been twice and the chicken is flavourful, oily but not fatty (the pieces of chicken was tender and not fat). Did get the 2 for 1 deal both times so it was worth it. Not sure if would get without the deal.

After 40 mins' wait, staff told me they forget my sweet photos. I have to waiting another 20 mins. The only reason I come there today, is the two peak not open!!!!

Very disappointing with the soggy chicken. There was so much moisture that the blue ink from the paper packaging transferred to the chicken. Was difficult to remove so nearly half of it ended up in the bin.

Complaint of staff Yvonne we ordered fried chicken and bubble tea but she told us to order drinks from the machine because she has drinks to make?? She just took drink orders from the customer before us what a joke. This Staff has personality issue
