Got bored of routine food?.... Try this place, I am sure you will not regret. Awesome place to hang out with friends for a perfect meal. Ambience is too good. Had a good meal after a long time. They have a great menu. Excellent food and the prices are pocket friendly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely wanted to visit this place again.
The best Vietnamese place have been to for long time an Quail was to die for an M-Beef just great an great people to be with. Go to Bamboo blue an you will love it
Fell in love with the Vietnamese food... an awesome place to be... great food...very polite and friendly staff and loved the rainforest inside the restaurant...
Went to my cousins b'day party there last night. All the dishes were better than what is served at Asian weddings. We had pretty much everything, quail, duck, hot pot, crab, abalone, fish, yummy beef etc. everything was delicious despite the number of ppl we had in our party they did a fantastic job. Garden was very pretty too. Thank you so much to all the staff, did a great job and we all had a great time. We will definitely be back :-)
We tried the restaurant last night for the first time and the food was fantastic the duck was amazing and the pork chop on rice was delicious will be going to eat here again
Fantastic service ,LOVED The good fresh and tasty food. . Have booked to eat there Again . A hidden Gem NOT To be missed. This one is a real winner ..
Friendly staff, great environment. The food was great too! Booked on the spot to come back in April!
Blue Bamboo Restaurant & Cafe has great food, at very reasonable prices, friendly, efficient staff and a lovely garden setting in which to enjoy it all. Make sure you book, it's only little and always busy.
Great food, Great atmosphere, Great service. Strongly recommended.
Excellent food and great value. Friendly service surrounded by the twinkling lights within an authentic Vietnamese garden/pond. Lovely experience🖒🖒
Food is truly the best, nice ambience which makes up for the slow service
Such a nice venue to try with highly cozy atmosphere and tasty food. Worth considering as inviting friends or business partners for both lunch & dinner. Great service as well! Serving team are friendly & helpful. <3
My favourite place to eat in Braybrook without a doubt!
Great food. Great setting.
The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the garden is beautiful. We dine here very often and everytime we bring different people with us to the restaurant, they love it. We ordered delivery yesterday and it was still amazing during this difficult pandemic time. Highly recommended to support this local restaurant.
This was my second visit to Blue Bamboo and just like the first time the ambiance was amazing. The amount of plants used as decor and the soothing water feature in the back seating area will always be my favourite. Service was quite fast.
Grilled beef salad: 4/5 - my only complaint is that the beef was a little chewy but i might just try the raw beef version next time
Salt & pepper flounder: 3.5/5 - the meat of the flounder lacked in flavour however the batter and the seasoning on top were tasty
Duck: 3.5/5 - crispy skin and good flavour but quite oily
Teriyaki tofu: 3/5 - the teriyaki was a bit too sweet for my liking - tofu was very soft and the addition of mushrooms and dried beancurd in the sauce was pleasant
Pleasantly surprised by the hidden mini pond at the back! Went during lunch time. Good pho and black pepper chicken ribs. Will definitely go back.
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful food! The atmosphere in here is so lush and welcoming. The food is fresh and hot and fast to be served even on a busy night.
You have to try the mango and grape juice and the beef fried rice! So sweet they even gave us free fruit cup! 💚
Delish!!! 🥘 🍽
Highly recommend this one - the luscious garden seating area out the back is a hidden gem and an unexpected surprise, well worth a look. The food was fantastic too.
The outdoor dining area is just gorgeous. The food is very good and authentic. Was a little difficult to get service while sitting outside but this is not uncommon. A very nice restaurant to dine at in Braybrook.
Hands down, our favourite pho in the west, and that’s saying something. Service could be warmer but let’s face it, that’s not why we come here! Delicious vegetarian fried rice and slow cooked spicy beef soup too. Frequented this place every other night whilst pregnant, so good! BYO available.

Great food, I definitely come here next time! The Secret Garden is amazing. One of my friends would love to see this! Hope you take care of your fish and your birds well. -Ashley 8y.o.
Truely great food and friendly staff. It has become my go to viet place in Braybrook. The food and taste just keep getting better every time I go there. My favourite will have to be the duck.
The ambience is very relaxing I do recommend to sit at the back.
Great little garden restaurant with really good traditional Vietnamese food. Cheap and super authentic, feels just like cafes in the north of Vietnam 👌🏻
Took my family out here for Father's Day because mum heard good reviews about this place. My family thought the food was nice and thought that the highlight of this place was the roasted duck. I also thought it was nice, they gave out a complimentary cake piece for Father's Day 😊
Sorry the photo quality was really bad
Delicious food, friendly service, and the garden courtyard is beautiful! Food was very fresh and servings generous. Vine-wrapped beef with vermicilli was a highlight.
I come here quite a lot, I just love the food here, the taste nice and very different, my faverous dish are prawn spring roll, Mongolian beef, all the coleslaw, honey chicken,.....
I had an amazing night with my friends at there. The food was always awesome, really enjoyed the view of garden that highly recommend for anyone who love Vietnamese cuisine. It also was good service and friendly staffs.
Delicious authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered 3 dishes all were great, favourite was the soft shell crabs. The Vietnamese coffee was yum! The service was great! And we also got complimentary warm tea.
I had lunch here. We had four rice paper rolls and beef pho (rare beef) and also a Vietnamese iced tea. Came to $21.50. Reasonably priced- but I wish the iced teas around here were more generous (its not hot like in Vietnam, so the ice doesnt melt and you seriously just end up drinking around 70mls- expensive for 4.50). The pho was nice- using thick rice noodles- it was not fatty and the broth was lovely. The rice paper rolls were fresh made, but we had them with only prawns and they were a little boring. I am beginning to think that I don't really like rice paper rolls....... (not the cafes fault). The setting is lovely, off the street into a garden of Eden. I will return here for an evening meal with drinks. Genrous servings food wise, and lovely quick service :-)
Enjoyed this place. There's a really g backdoor area which is closed off and smoke free so you dont get pissed off when you eat.
Food is nice but the variety was fairly limited
Cheap and affordable. This place reminds me of vietnam with the indoor setting towrds the back. Definitely good value for money food and worth a visit for a casual dinner.
Just had dinner with family, it consists of 5 adult and 2 children. When we ordered the staff were patients as we ramble thru the sufficient manual. The food came Out in an orderly manner with cold dishes and snacks first then hot dishes... We didn't seat in the back room as to where the tropical landscape and large fish pond are...would have been nice. In total our bills came to way below the amount we would have pay if we were in Footscray or Richmond.
An enjoyable dinner night... Will be back to enjoy a tropical setting...!!
Love vermicelli and fried rice here. When it comes to western side Viet food take away, here is better than Co Do. Eat here every Sat for lunch with my colleagues!!!!
Went here back in April for my cousin's birthday. The Asian garden set up in the outdoor dining area was very beautiful. I thought the outdoor dining area was big, but the garden had already taken up half of the space.
The food was delicious but the menu lack a lot variety than other Vietnamese restaurants. Probably because this restaurant is quite small. My aunties wanted to order the typical smoothies that Vietnamese restaurants always have but unfortunately they don't do smoothies. They were very generous with the Fried Banana with Ice Cream that my aunties had to share haha. My favourite dish at that time was the Soft Tofu with Japanese Sauce Claypot which was very flavourful.
What an awesome little hidden gem in Braybrook. Unsuspectingly ordinary looking shop front with a tropical little paradise out the back along with a gold fish pond. Authentic Vietnamese food with an escape from the cold Melbourne weather out the back. Reasonably (if not very affordable) priced dishes. Yes i will definitely come back very often. Great food and atmosphere.
Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with a standard looking front but harbours a stunning fish pond garden in the back dining area.
Oddly enough, the quail was the standout dish, with the 'Peking Duck' styled sauce nearly always meeting universal acclaim.
The garden vista is a damn pretty backdrop to dine next to and a worthy sacrifice of possible additional seating.
If you're in the area, fancy a looksy.

Having passed Blue Bamboo on the odd occasion and having made some assumptions, I was skeptical when my Sri Lankan friend (bless his heart) complimented the restaurant for having a wonderful back eating area that reminded him of Vietnam. This immediately sparked my interest and one fateful day, all the pieces fell together and we were en route to Blue Bamboo. For those who don’t know me, I am Australian-born to Vietnamese parents. My Mom is from the South while my old man who was originally from the North, found his way South and decided to chill for longer than he anticipated. The power of love is strong, people. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m no stranger to Vietnamese cuisine and without being biased it does take a lot for me to be impressed, especially if you tout to be a specialty restaurant. However, Blue Bamboo simply describes itself as Vietnamese restaurant and cafe and I come in without any expectations.
Really nice out the back with the pond and tropical plants. The soft shell crab was delicious. For mains I had grilled pork and fried rice. Very nice and prices very reasonable.
Good food, great service. Beautiful atmosphere and setting in the back. Definitely recommended. Well priced as well. Not expected when seeing the front. Give this one a try !
The food here is really beautiful! We had the blue bamboo sizzling plate and satay beef. The flavours, quality and speed were exceptional! We finished off with the scrummiest banana fritters and coconut ice cream. Gorgeous table out the back was so relaxing. It is true that you can struggle to get the waiters attention, but I can't fault them; they were busy and still so friendly and helpful. So cheap and cheerful.
I got the blue bamboo special fried rice & the sizzling special beef, the taste is much sweeter - was great along with the rau ma drink - good to see them blend it with coconut juice rather than just straight up sugar.
2nd time: had the rice dish called "vinh long" basically crispy chicken dish with a tamarind flavoured sauce.
Green curry with fried rice - good.
I'll update this review when i go again
Beautiful back garden reminiscent of Vietnam. Enjoyed having a coffee here with family over the weekend, incredibly calming and relaxing atmosphere. Incredibly hospitable staff as we somehow broke one of the coffee glasses and we had offered to pay for it, however, the restaurant was incredibly understanding and didn't charge us - amazing service!
Very elegant and humble vietnamese restaurant would not expect a place of this caliber to be located in braybrook. The food was fresh and very delicious, service was great and the atmosphere very pleasing. Overall would highly recommend.
Hidden gem, have been here twice. Great Vietnamese food without the long travel, limited parking spaces though. Reasonable pricing and great atmosphere, feel like I'm in Vietnam! The chicken coleslaw, quails were fantastic! We also had the sweet and sour hotpot. I would recommend Blue Bamboo leave the vegetables out for customers to put into the hotpot when we wish rather than put everything in at the start though.
the garden is so great
I love the roasted duck there, having it whenever I went to the restaurant, others also taste delicious!
Service is so good, feeling relaxed to be here.
Love it!
I have been here last week with my family. everything was made me surprise with beautiful garden, delicious food. I will be back on my birthday.
The restaurant is so beautiful with the garden and friendly staff. The food is very yummy. I will be back with my family and my friend too:))
A top quality restaurant in the middle of a very average shopping strip.Don't be put off by the outside.Out the back is a lovely little dining area complete with a big fishpond.Great Vietnamese cuisine with friendly service. Every meal we had was a winner but the salt and pepper squid and the chicken fried rice with salted fish were standouts. And it's B.Y.O and cheap as chips.Again, don't let the outside put you off.Once you're inside none of that will matter.Quite a few Vietnamese customers enjoying this hidden little gem of a place, which is always a good indicator that it's good food.
Great food and a fabulous courtyard and really nice service. Can't believe this is in Braybrook. Prices are really low in comparison to Footscray
Food was good
Good atmosphere
Very clean
Service is very kind and helpful
Good place to visit
Price is ok same as other places
35$ for 3 dishes
Yum the quail was great
Super clean
Banna fritter which was the reason we stopped as my wife was craving something sweet
Will return
What a great addition to Churchill Avenue. Clean, bright and welcoming. The quail is fabulous and the banana fritter a real treat. Will be back.
An absolute hidden gem in the west. Beautiful atmosphere, haven’t had a dish that we didn’t like and overall a 10/10 experience everytime. The lush outdoor seating in the back is just perfect, it adds so much to the whole experience. Try their salt and pepper squid, phenomenal. 😋
The best authentic Vietnamese restaurant nearest to Sunshine Market Area. Feeling like I am anywhere in Hanoi, Saigon, Hoian of Vietnam. Many of their dishes are top- notch. I ❤ its mini lush tropical garden. Service is always quick but I am not familiar with new digital menu. Highly recommend for couples & small friend groups. I think no air conditioning at their back garden only ceiling fans so you know this spot suits mild weather or cool days gathering.
I love the foods and atmosphere. They are bringing the Vietnam culture to BRAYBROOK.
I will be back again with my family.
Thank you very much for serving my dinner today.
I love the foods. It's so fresh and nice representation.
The price is resonable and large portions.
Good customer service and beautifully decoration
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Please make veggie gluten free pho. Can't seem to find this dish in the inner west.
We were seated out the back by a beautiful indoor garden and pond. We ordered a couple of entrees and had Phở. Using the QR code at the table to order online as easy, the selection fairly vast, and the estimated time was both fast and accurate. Staff were kind and considerate and the food was fresh and delicious! This was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience - thanks Blue Bamboo!
Beautiful backyard dining area. I was there for a birthday dinner on a Monday, was surprised the restaurant was full - but after tasting the food, I understand why. Need to park along street as the area has limited 30mins free parking.
